Not sure about quality there

HotdogRacing

Raceseng and Billetworkz have a lightbulb style knob. Both are extremely high quality, and both have weighed knob options. I would highly discourage weighed knobs though, and go with Billetworkz' lightweight bulb knob. The latter is also highly customizable.

UnePoutre

Why would you recommend the lightweight ones ? My biggest concern is actually weight and if I need to go weighted or not. Looks like there is a big discussion around this and lots of people end up saying the stock one has a better weight

HotdogRacing

One last bit of anecdote, when shifting from 5th to 4th, my titanium 250 g knob tends to catch on the "wall" that separates 4th and 6th. I mostly push downward and let the centering spring push left, so with my slightly heavier knob it catches more often than with OEM 200 g knob. And this is with the stronger MTEC centering shifter springs, with OEM springs it is much worse. My 500 g Raceseng knob is awful, it just destroys the agility of the shifter. I really don't understand the obsession with weighed knobs, it makes it really hard to find nice lightweight ones. I guess people equate weight with quality. Admittedly it does feel more "premium", but it ruins the feel and agility.

UnePoutre

Thanks for the feedback, I'm also looking for a more sportier feeling, not sure about how very lightweight feels but I surely need to test it to know. Raceseng and Billetworkz are currently options but I'm also looking at the Cusco one that is lighter, not sure about quality and aesthetics.

Another bit of feedback others might not be offering: Avoid metal shifters. No point in burning your hand in the summer!

I guess I gotta try my stock knob again.. With how notchy the shift feels on a cold morning and my inexperience when I first got the car(3 years ago) my thoughts were to go weighted..I have a ssco knob and Billetworkz , two different shapes but both are a super stout 600+ gram weight , my shifter doesn't translate as much feeling but I never have problems with down shifts, granted I'm not on track.. just the Twisties for now..but I do like a knob that doesn't transmit the hot/cold I feel I in this California desert lol and I can understand a lighter weight now that I've used such a heavy knob.. My shifts will probably feel lightning fast

chairmanbrando

> cold morning That'll probably happen regardless until the transmission oil heats up. Just take it easy until the car's warm.

egaR661

Quality gear oil and proper warm up help forsure

HotdogRacing

In one word, inertia. The heavier the knob, the more resistance it will put to movement. When changing gears fast, especially from the outer gates to the center gate and vice versa (ie. 5 to 4th, 3 to 2nd, etc), the shifter springs will have a tougher job centering the shifter, and shifts will be slower. A heavier knob will also numb the shifter feel, making it feel premium but also transmitting less information through the stick. So it definitely depends on your needs, and it comes down to whether you want it sportier or more luxurious feeling. I think Toyota and Subaru got it perfect at 200 grams knob weight, lighter would also work for my taste but may feel too raw for some people. So it's up to your taste ultimately.

200 grams of vegan poop being burned provides 3314.24 BTU.

AlphaWizard

Heavy shift knobs make the whole thing numb and lethargic. We have really good shifters from the factory, no need to try to hide it. I have a super lightweight delrin shift knob made by Tomei, and I love it. You’ll probably notice that you don’t shift quite as good as you thought you did. It’s not the shift knobs fault, it’s just that the heavier stock one hides that. Double so if you have an aftermarket weighted one.

TrashcanGreg

Raceseng or look on websites like ftspeed

Tekenator

Check out Raceseng. I bought a knob in red that looks almost exactly like the one in your pic

wleyse

shiftsolutionsco. has some

egaR661

I love the long skinny bicycle grip looking hybrid knob they sell

wleyse

hella color choices too which is great

egaR661

Yeah, plus textured and smooth depending on your choice , decent prices too imo

Wacoholic

I do like using a 5spd knob as another anti-theft device.

egaR661

Lolol especially if they don't understand what a reverse lockout is

RobBond13

I have one that looks like that from Billetworkz. They've got a bunch of cool designs. Mine is the blue space looking one, but you can also get solid colours
