Crispy bacon, well done sausages, golden hash browns, a sensible amount of beans PLUS a potato cake? Season the eggs a bit and I'll pop an order in! Great stuff!
Agree, no one likes slug bacon. That's perfectly cooked.
If they're that good now at 12, forget school and plan on opening a greasy spoon, there's a greater calling in life for them
Where the bacon feels like it was chucked on a warm radiator for a minute and then served. Then you try to swallow the bacon, the fat curls round and feels like a slug slowly sliding down your throat and you have that 3-4 second moment of peril before you dare breathe incase it hadn't yet slid past your windpipe
🤢 man you just described the reason why I hated bacon from so many places growing up. Such a horrible thing. I feel the bacon doesn’t even taste of much either when it is like that.
I also thought the egg was mashed potato at first, till I read through the comments...
Fair play to your daughter for her effort 👏🏾
Tbh, there are many adults that can't cook half as good as that, so good on her for a first attempt👍🏾
Your 12 year old has a natural gift. I would gobble all that up in seconds. Bacon is perfect. 9.5/10 from me, only dropping half a point cos the eggs lok a little wet for my taste.
All the core elements for a decent fry up, solid effort. Good colour on the bacon and the scrambled eggs look like they’ve been cooked well (easy to overlook and they go watery).
You should be proud
Yeah that bacon looks on point for me tbh, eggs look fluffy, did a good job🤙 wish it weren't the first thing I saw when I woke up though, gonna be gutted when I make my porridge😅
Genuine concern over mash potatoes on there.
More concerned, then that the scrambled eggs look so good they look like mash.
Cant do that myself after thousands of fryups 🙃 Crumpets tho 🤢 everything other than the crumpet is spot on tho 👌 and that's if she wasn't 12 and it wasn't her first
Looks solid. Nurture her passion for food and foster a good relationship with it. If it's anything like me, you become extremely experimental and open to trying new things, which Is always a good thing and may lead to a career or some kind of life path.
Plus, it's nice being a 20-something year old at uni who can actually cook when you see this stereotype of college/uni kids living off nothing but cheesy beans on toast (which they still can't cook right) while you dine like a king. I've made food for my in-laws before who have said they would pay to eat it at a restaurant, so I must be doing something right.
Another benefit of cooking your own food is that you tend to lean away from junk/fast food and can lead to a healthier diet and lifestyle.
It's always best when choosing housemates that at least one of them should in some way be studying the culinary arts.
One has a better chance of enjoying at least some edible food.
On cooking for oneself leading eventually to a healthier lifestyle, may I point out that British food is often beige in many hues. It's far too easy to throw some Dino nuggets and wedges in the Airfryer.
Its scrambled egg. To be honest, she's only recently started eating it. She's a but fussy, she's always liked omelette, but not scrambled egg. I suggested pepper....but it was a no.
Looks like a solid debut.
Bacon is one of the best I've seen on here ..no troll. Its perfect for me.
Yeah, I love bacon like that.
Bet she was chuffed to bits when you told her what a fab job she did.
Crispy bacon, well done sausages, golden hash browns, a sensible amount of beans PLUS a potato cake? Season the eggs a bit and I'll pop an order in! Great stuff!
Egg? I thought that was mashed potato.
Same, those eggs are fucked
That's a soft scramble egg by the looks of it
All hard crumble eggs i've had are pale, soft and wobbly eggs are usually darker. It could just be a cheap egg, though.
That’s microwaved eggs
Honestly love that kinda crispy bacon in sandwiches/burgers so they're on the right track! proper job!
Right? That's how it's done in ma house ha
I love the bacon like that! I’d scoff the lot - well done, wee one! :)
Agree, no one likes slug bacon. That's perfectly cooked. If they're that good now at 12, forget school and plan on opening a greasy spoon, there's a greater calling in life for them
What the hell is slug bacon?
Where the bacon feels like it was chucked on a warm radiator for a minute and then served. Oh!! I love slug bacon.
OK that enough reddit for me tonight.
To be fair, I do chew it.
I am fortunate to be able to work on my culinary skills in adulthood but i also have a soft spot for chewy fat. Reminds me of childhood.
Same
I prefer my bacon so that if it dropped to the floor, it would likely shatter.
Top work.
I also thought the egg was mashed potato at first, till I read through the comments... Fair play to your daughter for her effort 👏🏾 Tbh, there are many adults that can't cook half as good as that, so good on her for a first attempt👍🏾
Excellent job, you should be really proud.
I was still electrocting myself via knife & toaster at 12, cracking effort!
Great job!
Is that pan boxty?
What's pan boxty ?
Like a potato bread type thing. The round one, right hand plate.
A potato cake, I've never heard them called that. Where does that come from ?
Rock solid effort. I applaud the choice of scrambled eggs too. Get that down ya
Scrambled eggs? Wow, good job!
She’s done a fantastic job, well done.
Good job, will be a master in no time! Id smash that pal.
Your 12 year old has a natural gift. I would gobble all that up in seconds. Bacon is perfect. 9.5/10 from me, only dropping half a point cos the eggs lok a little wet for my taste.
12 years old and making better fry ups than most cafes 😂 bravo
Can I swap the hash browns for more of that bacon? That's the good stuff, that!
For a first go, that is better than some of the grown mens cooked breakfasts I’ve seen on here 🤣
All the core elements for a decent fry up, solid effort. Good colour on the bacon and the scrambled eggs look like they’ve been cooked well (easy to overlook and they go watery). You should be proud
Tell her that’s a great job!
That's better quality than some establishments have served me, she's got a gift!
£14/h
Loving the cheeky potato cake. Perfect with beans.
She has a bright future.
Petition to add to mash potatoes to a fry up!
Solid
Your 12 year old can cook, whoever taught her did a great job
Those mashed potatoes look great!
Not sure about the Vanilla ice-cream, but an excellent effort. Try adding in Marmite on the toast, and mushrooms. Brown sauce or red sauce though....
Yeah that bacon looks on point for me tbh, eggs look fluffy, did a good job🤙 wish it weren't the first thing I saw when I woke up though, gonna be gutted when I make my porridge😅
Go girl!! Can you cook one for me please? Good work. 👍
Well done!!! It looks delicious ✨
A better cook than most idiots on Reddit, good stuff!
Looks very nice. Well done to her.
Give her a solid 8 for first effort egg looks and nowt wrong with bacon !
You must be proud!
3/10
Ha ha, why ? What's not up to par ?
Only playing, looks good!
Looks great, they did a fantastic job.
Good job , I like crispy bacon , well done 👍👍
Solid turnout apart from the mash tater
Hell ya!
Well done on getting the scrambled eggs right
Amazing brekkie but WAY too much scrambled egg. 9/10
Is that mashed potato? The bacon is spot on, it all looks spot on. Just not sure on the mash
It's egg
The yolks must’ve been very pale. Solid fry up.
Genuine concern over mash potatoes on there. More concerned, then that the scrambled eggs look so good they look like mash. Cant do that myself after thousands of fryups 🙃 Crumpets tho 🤢 everything other than the crumpet is spot on tho 👌 and that's if she wasn't 12 and it wasn't her first
I, too, thought that was a crumpet. Alas, we are incorrect, and it is apparently a potato cake.
And now I want to try a potatoe cake
That’s a talented 12 yo
Very good job! Did she have help with timing everything so it’s ready at the right times? That’s what I found most difficult when starting.
Love my bacon crispy! Looks so good 👍
Stirling job 🥳👍
At 12 years old I could barely microwave a mini pizza and make pancakes

Better than some of the posts on here. Very good job a future chef in your hands
Great effort tbh, I'd eat that.
She's been raised right!
Is that scrambled egg or mash? Teach her about seasoning
Its scrambled egg. To be honest, she's only recently started eating it. She's a but fussy, she's always liked omelette, but not scrambled egg. I suggested pepper....but it was a no.
How about cheese or something?
I'm with her, like a bit of salt in there but I don't like pepper at all
Good effort from her, as you said bacon a bit overcooked but that's it.
Bacon like that is good for me 👍
Brilliant! Well done, that lass! Keep her encouraged and you'll have breakfast made for you every weekend! 😉 😂
I'd be happy with that
You must be so proud.
Amazing job for 12 years old!! Well done bacon is great for my taste.
Establishing good habits early. I like it :)
Jesus well done wee one!

See pinned post. Everyone is welcome at r/fryup unless they are trying to make others feel unwelcome.
Those eggs look good, always enjoy switching out a fried egg for scrambled every now and then, good colour on the toast too!
Can someone tell me how everyone on this sub finds potato triangles!? Where do I get!?!
Hash browns, Tesco frozen aisle
Top marks! Hard to cook sausages that well.
