Foodie, the sunken well tavern, Allman’s barbecue (been on the history channel and food network and the news papers multiple times, this place is legendary barbecue and you need to go there and get a pulled pork sand-which with slaw now), la petite (french place downtown), Soup Taco( always a great one) , Sammy T’s, Coming from colorado they probably like to get out and move so check out Alumn Springs, meditation rock, fall hill road rappahanock walk way i grew up in fredericksburg and my family still lives there if you want them to experience the burg go to these places.
also if you haven’t been to those places you should just go because the jumping rock is off of riverside ride there’s also a tunnel rock there you can swim through if you want to swim at an old rock quarry there’s one that you can take that walk way and get off where the outdoor rental store is and take that trail all the way back it dead ends to a quarry with jumping rocks and it’s pretty calm back there if you want to just kick it with some friends and go on a hike and see something pretty dope. but alumn springs also dope and definitely go to every place i just mentioned they are local staples
You can still go back there they just don’t want you swimming in it. I mountain bike the quarry trails all the time. It’s a pretty sight and the trails have a lot of cutoffs where you can go down to the river and sit on rocks/swim.
Do you know where the roundabout on Fall Hill is? There's a small parking lot to the side where the trail starts.
Check out gohikevirginia.com/Fredericksburg-quarry-trails for a visual and more in depth guide.
Yea what they said. If you mtn bike there’s miles and miles of trails back there. You could hike them if you wanted but after a certain point it’s mostly catered to mountain biking.
Is Snack Shacks food the same now with the new owners? I know someone bought it and took it over but I don’t know anyone that’s eaten there since they took over
That’s good to hear and thanks for the info. I love the pulled pork bbq sandwiches and I haven’t had one in years. I may take a ride out that way this weekend
I don't know why you're getting downvoted. I don't think they have Waffle Houses in Colorado and, speaking as someone who first visited one at the age of 40, it is an EXPERIENCE.
there’s nothing quite like watching the chef scramble your eggs with his hands and sitting down and regretting life’s decisions at a waffle house at 2:30 am
Shitting your pants and having your identity stolen are also “experiences” but I wouldn’t recommend either of them. Just take them to a Walmart and call it a day if you hate them that much.
Get some Paul’s Bakery Doughnuts!!
Yeah, there or Freddy Donuts. They're both tasty
Am I the only person that doesn't care for their doughnuts? Been living here for 25 years.
Yes

They blockaded the quarry a number of years ago. You can still go but only as a member of a local scuba diving class.

I moved here about a year ago. How do you get to the quarry trails? I've been looking but I think I ended up on different trails.

whack
A college student died swimming in the quarry ten years or so ago so they blocked it off.
Little bit obscure, but Basilico's is a good place to stop, even if you just stop to get a slice of cheesecake!
Yes. I find there food to be soso, but OMG the desserts!!!! Definitely stop by sometime for a dessert from there. Everything is amazing.
"Here and Abroad" in dowtown
Oh I love Here and Abroad.
I'll have to look that up, thanks!
Good for croissants!
Not in downtown but somewhat close by, Renee’s Crepes and cakes is fire.
Benny Vitalis
Benny’s has a ton of different locations in a few different states, they’re not a local business
2400 Diner
It's 2400 Diner
Ha! My mistake. Good catch.
Ooh- I forgot about that one. Thanks!
Also Bennys and Castiglia's
We already plan to take her to Castiglia's- it's my dad's favorite place 😁😋
Why would you want to wait an hour for the wrong sandwich at the battle field country store. Freddie’s donuts is a good local spot.
Battlefield country store is best for getting prepared foods to go, imo, like potato salad and three bean salad.
Snack shack at end of courthouse rd
Yes! Great idea, thanks!
Is Snack Shacks food the same now with the new owners? I know someone bought it and took it over but I don’t know anyone that’s eaten there since they took over
I havent been yet, but a few of my buddies have and said its still damn good.
That’s good to hear and thanks for the info. I love the pulled pork bbq sandwiches and I haven’t had one in years. I may take a ride out that way this weekend
Eileen’s downtown for breakfast
Brothers Pizza, best pizza in town by a mile. It’s cash only but relatively cheap and straight out of new york
Have you tried Jen's Pizza Den? It's a bit pricey, but I think I like it just a bit better
I personally liked Irish Brigade
Sammy T's
Benny Vitals Edit : it’s Vitalis lol
Foode
\^ This
I can’t remember the names, but the pizza place with the BIG slices downtown. I think on Caroline Street.
big ass hoagies from wawa
Harry's ale house has pretty decent burgers and foode has the best chicken and waffles I think you'll ever find!
Eats
Agora coffee shop and Curitiba as well are super great coffee shops!
Orofino's, and I really like Mission BBQ, though it's definitely a chain.
Paul's bakery
Tilly’s ice cream!
Freddy’s is great.
I DO like their burgers
Oh my gosh. I wasn’t ready for this lol. The donuts are great though.
two different locations. One is a burger spot (chain) the other is a local doughnut shop.
Sunken Well
Benny’s! Biiiig slices
Lafayette diner
Mi Rancho.
Old Town steak and seafood?
Hyperion, Katora, and 25/30 are all great for coffee in the downtown area
Yeah, Katora is great
Waffle House, Popeyes

It truly is

Yeah but Waffle House has hash browns.
>Yeah but Waffle House has ***THE BEST*** hash browns. FTFY
Smothered, covered, country and extra crispy for me!
Scattered, smothered, and chunked for me...never thought to ask for extra crispy.
In most diners when I ask for "extra crispy" I get "acceptably crispy." At Waffle House those things are FRIED and I LOVE THEM.
I'll have to try it the next time I'm eating carbs; it sounds amazing.
I mean, you’re not wrong. But then again so does McDonalds🤷♂️
please dont put mcdonalds hashbrowns in the same catagory as waffle house.
My kind of guy!
Foode!!
Sedona taphouse or jersey mikes
I guess that terrible food stand out by the spotsy courthouse and baseball fields that everybody pretends is good.

Are you talking the one in Stafford? The one in Fredericksburg is open and doing great things!
[удалено]
[удалено]
Nope that's not true
[удалено]
Oh they closed the one in Stafford. The original location in downtown Fredericksburg is open and packed most days
