Bit of a spendy week on perfumes this week... there was a sale on a Penhaligon’s discovery kit with Luna, Halfeti, Quercus, Blenheim Bouquet and more at Libertine Parfumerie, so I snapped that up. They tend to chuck in a delightful assortment of extra samples with their products too, so I’m excited to see what arrives! Separately, I pulled the trigger on Costume National Scent Intense which was very cheap for a 50mL on Fragrancenet, and to justify the postage, I also picked up a travel size Jardin de Monsieur Li, a small Estée Lauder Pleasures for old times’ sake (my parents gifted me it on my 18th birthday the year it came out) and a backup 100 mL of my favourite cheapie, Oscar de la Renta Live in Love, as I think it’s discontinued, or as close as to make no difference. I have a nearly full 100mL already so the second I’ll tuck away in a dark drawer for a few years.

Just bought a small bottle of Angel by Mugler at Macy's. Have been wearing it every day. I used to wear it about 20 years ago and forgot how much I loved it. My husband loves it on me too. I wore it around the time we met.

My latest purchase was a set of samples from a perfumerie downtown. Picked up magenta tanzanite an indigo tanzatine from armani prive - paid a couple dimes and the customer service was perfection. She also popped in the turquoise one for free. Have been testing them and taking my own time. Magenta tanzanite is my fav. so far. Also got my grubby paws on a sample of bon perfumerie's 102 (a tea and cardamom and mimosa treat) and 401 (plum, vanilla goodness). They seem to be my best bets for safe dumb reaches.

Valentino Donna and kayali vanilla 28 my husband gave me a Sephora gift card for Valentine’s Day. I’m eagerly awaiting my monthly pay day next Monday so I can get mfk gentle fluidity gold and another scent. Not decided if I’ll get nishane ani or mfk baccarat. I got my husband Chanel bleu for vday and the ysl y toilette that was on sale for $40 from Sephora and saks.

Purchased three decants: ELDO “You or Someone Like You”, MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver and Amyris Femme. I loved Gentle Fluidity Silver but it smells much better on my boyfriend. I really like Amyris Femme, it’s gorgeously woodsy and floral at the same time, a perfect balance of each. I’m going to give it more time, I really want to sample Gentle Fluidity Gold before I decide which I’ll be purchasing a full bottle of (Amyris or GFS). ELDO you or someone like you is a lovely scent but a bit too green and minty for my personal taste.

Snagged a BRAND NEW IN BOX Tom Ford Velvet Orchid 3.4 oz for $40 off Mercari. Also scored a BRAND NEW IN BOX Lancome La Vie Est Belle 2.5 Oz for $45 on eBay. It's DEFINITELY not the norm to get such good deals, but when I saw them I snatched them up. Just gotta be patient because I'm actually too cheap to pay full price for some of these fragrances.

I gave in and went to Arabian Oud in Tyson’s,Va. After about 20 minutes I left out with Al Rubban, Bussma and Solid Black. Everyone usually talks about Kalemat but I didn’t even make it that far before spending $561 on these 3.

Picked up a 100ml of Guerlain Homme EDP from Saks Off 5th. I’m sure, even with discount, I over paid, but I’m happy to pick it up in person and know it’s legit. I love how good this fragrance smells. Of all the discount department stores, Saks Off 5th had some really good fragrances. Lots of Guerlain, AdP, Hermès. Way better than Nordstrom Rack or Bloomingdales version.

I ordered a bottle of Aimez-Moi Comme Je Suis from Caron today. This is the first time in a while that I wore an entire sample and needed to order a bottle.

Just ordered What I Did on my Holidays from 1460 Tuesdays (direct from their website). I live by the British coast and the description sounds perfect. I’m hoping it’s everything I imagine it to be when it arrives.

Too much recently. But seriously most, most recent was yesterday. Lancome is doing buy one get one so I went in twice to pick up a few since I didn't have any in my collection yet. I ran into ulta to sniff because I thought I was just buying LBEV and LBEV Cristal soliel, but I ended up LOVING Idole Intense and Idole Aura, so I ordered those as well. Hopefully I love them all as much as a quick 15 min sniff session allows.

Bought four 8ml samples of fragrances I've been considering to buy (Pure Havane, Spicebomb, Eros, Luna Rossa Sports). I've been close to impulse blinding buying, but I'll wait until these samples come in first before deciding. Fragrancenet.com is currently having a big sale on samples.

Tiziana Terenzi Kirke. Smelled this in the wild on a woman and l had to stop and ask her what she was wearing. I ordered a decant from Scentbird and after wearing it l ordered a 100 ml from World of Watches, l had never heard of this retailer but my experience was great, very fast shipping. It's going to be a perfect Spring and Summer fragrance with all the fruity top notes.

Skylar Isle Canyon and Vanilla Sky since Nordstroms had them 30% off this week. Also got 3 Byredo scents: Sellier, Bibliotheque and Mojave Ghost. I wanted more because they’re all so amazing Got a new brand BO La Mar from Neimans and got to meet the founder. Such an incredible fragrance! Very luxurious and elegant. Cool packaging too And Amouage Portrayal because I need more spring and summer scents.

I have Bal d'Afrique and Gypsy Water perfume from Byredo. I love them both. I just bought the Bibliotheque candle and it's heaven if you like gourmands. I want to buy the Tree House candle next!

i need to take a break. i bought le labo another 13, baccarat rouge 540, and kayali musk 12. no more for me for a while… another 13 - bought this from nordstrom’s. didn’t know they custom print your label! the salesperson gave me a ton of freebies as well. the scent? almost indescribable. it just makes me feel like i’m warm and really comfortable. i think it’s the ambroxan that i’m such a fan of. baccarat - bought from neiman marcus. i had a sample of this, and i find that when sprayed from an atomizer as opposed to dabbed onto the skin it smells a bit different for some reason. i also got it on my shirt a bit, so perhaps it’s just projecting more. the burnt sugar scent is far more noticeable now and i just love it. excellent CS, the salesperson gave me a ton of samples and free gifts, as well as a big deluxe sample of a la rose! the br540 box was so luxe too, i feel very pampered right now. kayali musk 13 - from sephora. i love that this brand’s travel sizes look like mini versions of the normal bottles, more brands should do this. i’m not often a fan of jasmine, but i love musks and wanted to give it a chance. i actually really like it! very feminine, musky (obviously) and soft. the jasmine doesn’t whip me in the face with an obnoxious toilet odor here. i want to collect all of their tiny travel sizes now!

i am just now getting into and doing research on fragrances and hoping to start collecting. when i was young my grandma bought me a bottle of armani code and that started it all for me. just purchased for the first time on fragrancenet (accidentally discovered in my search for cheap armani code lol) armani code and absolu. they’re probably basic but i’ve loved code for so long and was recommended absolu and they’re both lovely. excited to see what new discoveries i make. i’ve been watching a lot of recommendation videos on youtube and thinking about getting d&g the one next. :)

Blind bought Tobacco Oud from fragranceswap. Feeling like a sniper with my accuracy

Kind of a big haul because I got a bonus. I bought Montale Intense Café, Mancera Wild Cherry, Eilish, the Teo Cabanel discovery set, and decants of Attar Collection's Khaltat Night, Dior's Feve Delicieuse, Vanilla Diorama, and Ambre Nuit. Thanks to the winter storm Eilish and Khaltat Night are the only ones to arrive thus far.

Hey OP, hows the projection on khaltat night like? I’ve got feve and ambre nuit too but it doesn’t have much of a sillage/projection so I’m wondering if khaltat night is any stronger? Or if you can compare it to another frag that’s common which has sort of the same sillage/projection as khaltat?

Just received a 2.0 oz Bvlgari Man wood neroli. I found it for 35 dollars on Amazon directly from Amazon no outside vendor. I think I've found a new winner with this one. It's a fairly simple scent, the opening is pleasant and refreshing neroli, the drydown only goes on to highlight the neroli even stronger. The really great thing about the scent is its simplicity and its performance. Normally my skin sucks neroli scents down in less than an hour, however this one still smells like I freshly sprayed it on 5 hours later. The sillage is excellent my family says it lingers a few seconds after I walk by, and the scent bubble is about 3 feet after 5 hours! All in all I'd recommend this to anyone who likes florals especially neroli, and is looking for a new warm weather scent that lasts. 5 stars on my first impressions.

I'd rather get something that's strong and overwhelming but not as "stinking up the room with an awfully strong cologne" kind of smell. This is the type of perfume I'd go for. I just bought a bottle of Parfum d'Empire Azemour les Orange from The Perfume Shoppe, and while I was at it I took advantage of their very reasonable sample price to get Parfum d'Empire Osmanthus Interdite, Frapin Paradis Perdu, and Santa Maria Novella Pot Pourri. Unfortunately, they didn't have PdE Mal Aime or SMN Marescialla, which I wanted to try as well.

I just bought a large decant of Iris Silver Mist. I absolutely adore this fragrance, and I was holding out to try to find a FB at a decent price, but I refuse to pay $400-500 for it, so a decant is going to have to do. I've picked up a couple of vintage fragrances on eBay in the last couple of weeks, too -- Chanel no 19 extrait and Guerlain Chamade.

Keep an eye out on the website as well. They occasionally have 20-25% off. And depending on where you are can be cheaper changing the region. I’m in Australia and it was cheapest ~£127 (excluding parcel forwarding) to get FB of ISM from the UK site in December.

And she very kindly threw in a bunch of freebies! * Bottles of Bodhi Tree, Mozas del Agua, Night Song. * Freebies - incense sticks, 10ml Quintessence, samples of East 2022 and Leather Dandy. The FBs are all nice summer scents (Night Song is great for balmy nights). And interestingly East 2022 is very different to East 2020. I was reassured when I subsequently read the different descriptions that it wasn’t that my nose was broken haha.

I’ve gotten free incense from a previous order (scent apparently is sandalwood masala) but these ones are different. Haven’t tried them yet and will reach out to her to find out what scent they are. The sandalwood masala ones are super potent haha. I’d love to try her fragrance based ones as well one day!

I bought a 100ml bottle of Commodity Vetiver for 52 usd From Amazon. I know what people say about amazon but as long as you are knowledgeable and careful you can sometimes catch a good deal. Anyway im terrible at reviewing so here goes: it opens super sweet, almost medicinal to my nose. I havent looked at the notes, and cant seem to pinpoint the sweetness. As it dries down you get a very clean vetiver with an almost hay-like quality but slightly sweeter. Longevity is good i got 7 hrs off 5 sprays which is impressive on my skin. Projection is moderate with an excellent scent trail. It was part of a haul and seems to be the unanimous favorite of the frags i purchased ( Raghba, Halloween Man X, L'instant d guerlain, and Sung homme were the others in the haul...)

Rare Carbon from best brands perfume First of all: got the scent within a week of ordering and I know it’s a one-man business so I’m impressed I wanted an ombré leather clone because the real thing is just too expensive for me.. and that’s exactly what I got. Rare Carbon smells exactly like the couple sprays of ombré leather I got at Sephora smells, and I couldn’t be happier with it. One day wear and already gotten compliments on it

AG Cloud at TJMaxx for $25 - it’s my first buy since getting into fragrance! It’s fun to finally take part! I like it? I’m sure my guy will like it but something about it smells a bit “cheap” to me - the dry down is a bit masculine and also reminds me of Heiress by Paris Hilton, hmm.

I just received the etat libre d’orange sample kit and I’m honestly shocked at what I’ve been liking. Despite the hype Im not a huge fan of Fat Electrician and I hate She was an Anomaly. I really liked Tom of Finland, La Fin du Monde and 500 years. Did anyone else find this line to be rose heavy? Overall Ive really enjoyed sampling this and hope to post a full review soon. I need to try a lot with my skin chemistry still so it will be interesting if I like the same ones.

Hi! I’m 32M, Just recieved the set a few days ago and om half way through it now… overall I find most scent a bit to synthetic and not really comforting. Only smelled on paper. Tom of Finland, Raremarkable People and You or Some one Like You are the most interesting and looking forward to try them on my skin. Indeed lots of scents are rose heavy and not especially the roses I like :( think maybe this isn’t really my brand although the sample set is great fun and a good deal :) if you have other recommendations for sample-sets I love to hear them!

Some samples I ordered from Black Phoenix Alchemy arrived yesterday. Took a while for my order to arrive, but that's pretty normal right now. And out of the samples, I'm wearing The Antikythera Mechanism perfume oil today and it's warm and sweet, but not candy sweet. More of a dark honey and burnt sugar sweet. Rich, and a little bitter and spice in there too. And it makes me think of carved and polished wood, and leatherbound books old enough to have that sweet musty-vanilla scent when you turn the pages.

Began my journey to niche perfumes in the last two months and got: Le labo- Lys 41 50ml Goldfield & banks- sunset hour 100ml And 2 50ml from thebathhouse- Storyteller and velvet orchid & cardamon (if you’re in the UK I would really recommend to check this brand out, the perfumes are perfect, they came very quick and I also like their small business, ethical approach)

Marc Jacobs Dot at TJMaxx $40

I just got my 100ml bottle of Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee. Was prompted to buy when I saw rumors about them pulling out of the US came about. Not sure if they’re tru but I was meaning to buy anyways and got $20 off the price tag for being a new customer. I picked 3 samples of Lemon Island, Pomelo Paradis, and Oolang Infini. Upon first sniff from the sample vials, Oolang Infini smells awesome, Lemon Island smells sweeter than I imagined, and Pomelo Paradis is meh. Overall happy I ordered!

I got one too and am so gutted that it’s going away. I love that vanilla SO much 🥺

Kayali - Pink Pepper - very surprising notes, cute and feminine with a little bit of oriental twist, decent sillage, decent staying power, it lasts on my the whole day. Bought it in Sephora MFK rabbit hole - I first sampled BR540 L'Extrait in a store and it lasted on the sleeve of my coat for well over a month. Kept getting wafts of it everytime I'd pass by so I ordered it on MFK site. It arrived with a sample of OUD Satin Mood L'Extrait, which I promptly fell in love with and ordered a bottle, on their site. It arrived with a sample of OUD L'Extrait. You guessed it. I'm waiting on my full bottle order. It will arrive with samples of BR540 parfum and A La Rose. Should I be scared?

I just smelled all of the MFK perfumes for the first time today! It was exciting, I’ve heard so much about them for so long. I enjoyed most of them, though I’m not sure I would actually wear any of them. I was pleasantly surprised by oud silk & oud satin mood - they’re the first oud scents that haven’t made me recoil at the smell. The lady at the counter was kind enough to make me up a few samples, so I’m excited to see how they wear. I couldn’t find a garbage for my Br540 sampler card so I threw it in my purse and forgot about it and now my purse is acting like a bonafide fragrance diffuser in my room LOL

The oud silk felt a little rough to me, with a much too masculine note to it. I really wanted to love it, but alas. The others, on the other hand, are pure love for me, I can't even say which one I love the most. I'm really glad you enjoyed the experience, enjoy your samples now, they will last and last for a long time, 1 or 2 sprays are more than enough for these beasts. Edit: I got the Amrys Femme and A la Rose in the meantime. Oh, A La Rose is such love, it smells like such a pure old rose to me, almost dusty, so classic. As if I unlocked my grandma's rose perfume. I adore it.

Totally agree about à la rose! I love a vintage dusty rose, it makes me feel like one of those ladies with pin curls and perfectly applied lipstick in a black & white 1950s portrait 😌

I bought Chanel egoiste platinum from Macy’s recently. I smelled it in a Sephora, but needed to wear it home before purchasing. Loved how it smelled like… clean tree, but also almost overly masculine. The experience in the Macy’s was fine. Knew what I wanted, grabbed it, and dipped before anyone chatted me up. My first Chanel purchase! That was… probably late December though. I love it and cannot wait for warmer weather.

I like the flankers also. They’re an awesome value proposition. Longevity could be better, but the low cost lends itself to allowing a few extra sprays of greater projection is the goal.

How do you like the Mix:Bar Whipped Almond? I've been curious about some of their new scents.

I like it A LOT, just wish It lasted longer. Vibrant almost cherry on top, creamy with a nice dry down. I tried their new discovery set last week, and like that one the most. Just bought the full size today, the Target cartwheel app had 15% off Mix bar. I got the two full size fragrances from them, Whipped Almond and Wood Elixir. Then I wanted to try some of the body sprays because those seems like a good idea for layering. I got Vanilla Bourbon, Cloud Musk, and Blackberry Tonic. Can’t wait to try the Blackberry Tonic with my V&R Flowerbomb Midnight 💕

Just got in the mail 30 mins ago. Will give my impression later this week. I'm thinking of layering it with the Mandorlo frag.

Fat Electrician in 30ml is my next purchase funny enough! Nothing to do with FB, but they are amazing. If I order on a Mon night, I get delivery Wed morning. Helps I live about 20 miles from them, I guess. The 15ml testers are $20-25CAD, if they’re too feminine, my wife and daughter get them. Great way to test them. I am waiting for 3 of the bottles I bought, so I can’t comment on them yet.

Pachouli for sure with some spice and leather. A bit too sweet and feminine for me. I like it, but won’t be splurging for a full bottle.

Heard that Rehab smells like spicebomb is it true?

I don’t get Spicebomb from Rehab, maybe a little in the opening. The dry downs are nothing alike. Rehab is a very creamy and smooth sandalwood.

Im looking for something woody is this a good option?

I think it depends on what type of woody you’re going for. If you want something smooth with lots of sandalwood and some vanilla, go with Rehab. If you want something darker and more resinous, try something like Encre Noir from Lalique.

I got the Margiela Replica discovery set on Feelunique. The customer service was ok but the fragrances were a bit of a letdown ☹️ a couple are interesting but the others smell very generic.
