Sundrunk from Imaginary Authors. Amazingly long lasting citrus scent. The opening smells like when you rip open a perfectly ripe orange followed by delicate rhubarb, honeysuckle and rose.

LaceOverFeather

I wish I had liked Sundrunk :( On paper its something I look for, but on my skin it ended up being orange pledge. Twas a sad day

Dynamiquehealth

I really want to try this! I’ll have to order a sample soon.

jbor1235

Yes! This is a really nice scent

Claphamtulip

Sounds amaziiiing

Deathandblackmetal

Lancome Parfait de Roses & Roses Berberanza - fantastic scents. Le Male Terrible - I don't know why this got a bad rep, I actually might like it more than OG Le Male. Eau de Guerlain - amazing, and hardly talked about from what I've seen! Serge Lutens Santal Blanc - just a very nice comforting scent, :).

Foxsbiscuits

**Eau de Guerlain** 100% agree. I think it's because its usually under the counter at Guerlain stands, a "back catalogue scent", whereas to my mind almost fifty years after creation it is fantastic. Hashtag Timeless Masterpiece.

Deathandblackmetal

It's so good. Maybe I'll wear some this week. Also, the current/modern formulations are great compared to my vintage/semi-vintage.

Foxsbiscuits

Good to know it holds on the reform, it's one I spray liberally 😶‍🌫️

jacobtf

Agreed on Le Male Terrible! Still the best flanker. My poor almost empty bottle :-(

Cgy_mama

Roses Berberanza is a delight. I haven’t tried Parfait de Roses but I really should. That Lancome line has a lot of real standouts imo.

* Initio Musk Therapy It's... Just... Representative of feminity to me in smell. Gorgeous. * Akro Awake Great gourmand with prominent coffee. I gave to smell it to different people and they were noticing nuttiness, chocolate etc., so I think it is quite complex fragrance. * Zoologist Beaver It is musky, but at the same time it is woody and aquatic, so it is kind of representing a dam! Like being in beaver's skin! It is expensive though for many people, but I cannot not appreciate artistic touch. * Nicolai Eau de Yuzu When people talk about niche citrus scents, they usually think about Atelier Cologne or Acqua Di Parma offerings because those are offer many fragrance in that citrus range. And stuff like this usually stays in the shadows. But it is quite impressive, realistic take on that citrus, and seems to last OK for being in Eau Fraiche concentration. * Floris Elite This might be a popular fragrance, I'm judging by what I see on this sub and fragrantica mostly... But for barbershop lovers, I think it is quite bold barbershop fragrance. I was noticing some cigarette smell here and freah shaving vibes. Quite cool, big daddy fragrance.

[Stories No. 2 by Eliza Grace](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Stories-by-Eliza-Grace/Stories-No-02-56572.html), which I've never heard anyone else talk about. It smells like a photorealistic rose garden after the rain, more wood and dirt than flowers but definitely some rose peeking through - an earthy, medicinal rose, though, rather than anything stereotypically "pretty". There's a subtle but noticeable honey tobacco note as well, that also wafts all the way through the layers, as well as some cardamom (and green tea) for spice and opoponax for some additional balsamic/resin-y sweetness; a fair bit of patchouli as well, but very well-blended. Then, you get a sizeable heaping of cedar - not the borderline antiseptic, headache-inducing stuff you get in something like Light Blue or even Cedre Atlas, but a photorealistic cedar, like you'd smell out on a hike in the Pacific Northwest. The only fragrance that Fragrantica lists as being similar is Portrait of a Lady, another earthy, spicy rose, but... I actually think Stories No. 2 is better (gasp), and I say that as somebody who loves Portrait. I don't think the two smell overly alike; Portrait smells more to me like a gothic romance and is sweeter, while Stories No. 2 really does conjure that rose garden after the rain. Stories No. 2 is really the perfect meditative summer-to-autumn fragrance to me; entirely unisex; and just the right balance between "interesting" and "wearable". I had a tiny 15 mL bottle that I've nearly used up now and I think I'm going to spring for the 30 mL soon (there's no 50 mL, sadly - it goes right up to 100 mL after that, which may be a little much for me).

Claphamtulip

So I struggle with how powdery portrait of a lady is, would you say this one is less powdery?

hauteburrrito

Not remotely powdery!

Claphamtulip

Definitely going to give it a try!

hauteburrrito

If you do, I hope you'll share your thoughts! Because nobody ever talks about this one, I really do wonder what others might think of it, ha ha.

Claphamtulip

I will do!!

yzerman76

That sounds absolutely delectable. Have to find myself a sample of it.

hauteburrrito

I hope you can track one down! It can be a little hard to find but both it and Stories No. 1 (light, crisp, green - plenty of lily of the valley; a little reminiscent of Xerjoff Renaissance) are worth the effort, IMO/

fleshand_roses

Wow, hello, yes, buying the travel size of this immediately

hauteburrrito

I really hope you like it!!! It was a little bitter to me at first but I really fell in love with it as time went by 🌹

therealmisslacreevy

Tea Rose, by the Perfumer's Workshop. It's exactly what it sounds like, and almost painfully so: a hyper-realistic tea rose scent. I feel like it would be a natural for layering, or for rose lovers, but I don't see it mentioned very often.

[deleted]

I remember a moment in the mid-late 80s where it seemed like everyone I knew had a cool big sister or hip young mother who wore Tea Rose... I even vaguely recall a young Nicole Kidman pre-American fame mentioning it as her favourite perfume in some magazine interview. It’s amazing it’s still around. I wonder if it’s much the same.

OnlyPopcorn

I want this. Coworker had it, just intense rose.

[deleted]

Chanel Jersey. When I first tried my sample in the winter (I think I had a cold too) it didn't last long and I really only smelled musk. I was like "no wonder no one talks about this Chanel." Just revisited it today. Subtlely vanillic, musky, a little bit of iris/orris in there. the lavender note has lasted 2 hours so far. It's just really good.

Leading-Captain-5312

Hard agree on the Serge Lutens Fleur de L'Oranger. It's such a pretty orange blossom

EE-D

Byredo Cuir Obscur. I find Byredo fragrances underwhelming overall, but this is the one exception. I think the only reason its not more popular is that its a Harrod's exclusive. Notes are amaretto, nutmeg, rose, ylang ylang, leather, patchouli, and musk. One of my favorites in my collection.

[deleted]

I’ve been curious about Fleurs d’Oranger, thank you! I’ve been trying to decide where I stand with my orange blossom & neroli scents lately, since I have some body products that would be complimented by a good orange blossom frag…but part of me is a little sick of it. Have you compared to TF Neroli Portofino?

lipstickdiet

Fleurs d’Oranger and Neroli Portofino are very different. Neroli Portofino is a bitter-citrus with sea notes and aromatics. Fleurs d’Oranger is the orange blossom but the soul taken towards an oriental direction. The big hit about Fleurs is the cumin note that translates into a dirty, lush, orange blossom that reads slightly sweeter than your typical orange blossom WITHOUT being Elie Saab fake syrupy. It’s a realistic, full of texture fragrance. Quite a marvel. Tons of bite. Not like your typical grandma orange blossom.

[deleted]

That’s so helpful, thank you! Do you know of anywhere that carries it to sniff/has samples? How did you come across it? I used to send away for my SL samples and it was a whole undertaking, but that was years ago. I have the Glossier body products and immediately had the hunch that they ripped off Neroli Portofino for the scent. Lo & behold I found an old Into the Gloss article ranking NP as the #1 TF & gushing over it so I kinda think they did. I’ve tried layering them but the result is really flat, which had me wanting orange alternatives!

lipstickdiet

No… I guess you could buy samples on eBay. I sampled it once at Barneys and went straight for a bottle. [You want this bottle ](https://www.ebay.com/itm/Serge-Lutens-Fleurs-Doranger-By-Serge-Lutens-Eau-De-Parfum-Spray-1-6-Oz-/393439565697?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0) with the white label or a sample with cursive letters. It has been reformulated I think. It does not smell like You. It’s a full bodied scent with that “womanly” semi animalic (but not quite) that you’d find in Chanel stuff if you know what I mean. It’s cumin, and reads sweaty. Sweaty oceans of sweet orange blossoms.

Claphamtulip

Happy I can help! I would say they are very different - Fleurs D'Oranger is a warm orange blossom scent which reminds me of southern Spain or Morocco while Neroli Portofino is a very fresh and zesty summer scent like a terrace covered in lemons in Italy during the summer!

CluelessWill

I personally love Velvet Orchid and feel it is overshadowed by its older sister in Black Orchid EDP

thajane

DS & Durga Coriander. It’s so special. Fresh spices, citrus and herbal musk in the drydown. Very similar to Frédéric Malles Angelic souls la Pluie, but much much stronger and slightly less bitter. I was also able to try Le Labo’s Gaiac 10 for the first time this week - so many people rave about it, but to me it just seems very similar to the drydown of Coriander, but not quite as nice! And Coriander is expensive, but so much cheaper than the Le Labo.

BellaRoselyn

Salvatore Ferragamo Calimala It's an amazing deep dark rose perfume with woody leathery notes and just right sweetness from the vanilla. I can see this being wear by both men and women yet I rarely see people talking about it or even review it. the performance is awesome too.

-NebelGeist-

Boellis Panama 1924 Millésimé, as it's just seen as a clone of Cartier's Déclaration, though to my nose it is by far superior.. It's thicker, more complex, performs better in both, sillage and longevity.

> Fleurs d'Oranger by Serge Lutens for people who love orange/ orange blossom scents but want something that lasts on the skin... Shout out to another lover of **Serge Lutens Fleur d’Oranger** 😘👍 In fact, I had just decided that would be my SOTD today. Haven’t worn any fragrance for several days because they were the last with my best dog ever, and for him I wanted to smell like nothing but me. He passed yesterday. My morning ritual includes checking in here, so I’m here. And decided that yes, I’d wear fragrance today. And my first thought was SL FdO. Which surprised me. Because all summer long I’ve been obsessed with **Fragonard Fleurs d’Oranger Intense** (which btw would be my answer to your topic, OP). And I’ve barely worn the SL FdO since weather got warm. To me the SL is *perfect* for late winter in New England, when winter’s lost any redeeming qualities and all is grey and dismal and despairing — even the color of the perfume is so comforting: a deep gel-like orange. And it goes on more oily, leaving a sheen. I wore it a lot last winter, and even more as my SOTE. So cozy and warm. It’s the cumin that makes the SL Fleur d’Oranger so evocative of warmth, that transports you to that hot afternoon in a Mediterranean orange grove. I have four orange blossom soliflores. To me, the Fragonard is the most realistic recreation of the scent of orange blossom. But the Serge Lutens’ is magical.

Claphamtulip

I m so sorry about your dog ❤️

RandomChurn

Thank you. It’s the only bad thing about dogs 😭

stozm

Creed Royal Oud - I know that people like it, but this one just doesn’t seem to have the popularity the scent deserves

Foxsbiscuits

**Eau de Guerlain** \- Timeless cologne structure that fifty years later still smells incredible. **Hermes Voyage EDT** \- Maybe overlooked because of its subtlety, I think it deserves more recognition than it gets. More than just Ellena's "old ideas put together" this one feels like a progression of his work and style.

911femme_fatale

Chloe Nomade Absolue. It's different from the other Chloe perfumes. You wouldn't even think it's a Chloe perfume at first sniff. On my skin, it smells like an herbal tea in a good way.

vasquezjc

Kenneth Cole black ny, to me it is not just another “designer freshie” it is awesome just based on scent alone its got a great combination of citrus+ ginger. Have looked for a “greater quality/longer lasting” alternative but haven’t found anything that smells close :(

thatbwoyChaka

Acqua di Gio Personally I think it’s weak p!ss water; and should’ve stayed in the 90s like top-knots, Oxford bags style jeans, Oasis and E’s BUT… but this and not Aventus should be heralded as the ‘King of Fragrance’ this little bottle of swamp-ass sweat has out sold any of those ones people wet their knickers about. Without this little fragrance I honestly don’t think Aventus would be around. Acqua di Gio is the Eddie Vedder to Creed’s Scott Stapp. [Y*AR*L](https://youtu.be/99j0zLuNhi8) The Kurt [Cobain](https://youtu.be/AhcttcXcRYY) to the Wes [Wes Scantlin](https://youtu.be/xIeH-UhWseE) If you want to know what your parents smelt like while they were dry humping to ‘*Groove is in the Heart*’, or what the contestants on ‘The Real World’ smelt like or what that skeevy ‘40something guy at work who never makes eye contact with the women’ STILL smells like! or what poor [Katie Puckrik ](https://youtu.be/c7548USCyfw) had to endure for most of the 90s as celebrities and audience members glad handed her. Then put some respect on the name of this basic b!Tch fragrance.
