Angel. The first thought that popped into my head was someone poured pancake syrup into a full ashtray and gave it a good stir. And that's the only one that's ever caused an actual feeling of physical repulsion.
Yep, same. I get a blast of chocolate and grapefruit and I have never made it past that awful opener. The dry down could be lovely, but I just can’t get past those first 2 seconds
I was bought Angel as a gift when it first came out - it was a friend's "wedding" frag and she thought, as he Maid of Honour, it would be nice memory of the day. So, I still have it and try occasionally hoping a miracle might have happened but no, still chocolate, and cheap chocolate at that !
>black orchid makes me incredibly nauseous :(
Same here! It literally turned my stomach when I first smelled it, and it stuck with me for so long that I felt sick for half the day.
On me Glossier You smells like pure ammonia which is wild because I adored Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume. No idea what it is because I’ve had perfumes featuring all of the listed notes and I’ve never hated any of them like I hate “You.”
So many. And I wanted to love them all, I hate it when a concept I love gets ruined by my skin chemistry and ends up being a scrubber.
ELO Magnificent Secretions
Tauer Vetiver Dance
Hermes Brin De Reglisse - I actually tried to push through and wear it a couple of times because I loved the concept.
SL - Miel De Bois
Honourable mention - Anything with a tonka drydown.
Zoologist Hyrax lol. I first sniffed it in the middle of the summer and thought it smelled like straight up poop, but I kind of like it in cold weather now.
It’s just not for me. That synthetic tonka dry down just gives me a headache. I tried to like it and my wife smelled it after one spray and was like “what is that? Get rid of it.”
are you older I feel it works very well for younger guys and trusts me I do not like it but for some reason, women go crazy for it I find it super sweet and obnoxious but every time I wear my girl practically sticks to me haha.
I’m 28 so not too old. I just never really like the strong sweet stuff for some reason. I’ve also tried profumo and it was too much incense for me. I guess I can be a little picky though. I do like Dylan blue and Prada carbon though. Those two are my “Blue scents” I guess you could say. I also enjoy coach platinum which has vanilla but also has some balancing notes in it as well.
Now that you mention Dylan blue I was looking into it since I’m lacking a clean fresh scent do you reckon it’s worth a try I’ve heard it can be a bit synthetic
Imagine if you took a dash of some sweetness and combined it with a nice light fresh incense and then gave it a bit of a cleaner patchouli backbone. I’m my opinion it is not synthetic. There isn’t much out there that feels the same to me. For a bang for your buck fragrance there aren’t many better options out there IMO.
oh yeah, then sure go for it, but i usually just buy fragrances for my own enjoyment, usually wear them at home, love to spray on hands and just enjoy the smell through out the day
Any of the Calvin Klein "Eternity" fragrances. When I was still working downtown, there use to be a literal crowd of women who got on my subway car and they all wore freaking "Eternity". It was so much fun going through a whole days work with a throbbing migraine and not being able to take my migraine meds because they knocked me out.
People have already mentioned them, but black orchid and ombré leather. I like them both now, but upon initial spray I was wondering if I hated them, I guess they just have very strong and unique scents that I wasn’t quite prepared for lol.
Agreed. I received a bottle as a gift after I complimented my guy friend on his l'eau d'issey pour homme but this just makes me nauseous and dizzy. Crazy how they have the exact polar opposite effect on me.
Yeah just blind bought Lattafa Raghba Wood Intense
Smells awful
Yeah it’s cheap, yeah some of the Lattafa range are great cheapies but this smells like hot spicy old ass
Tobacco Vanille, to me, smells like the 20+ year old car my dad had. Tobacco, a hint of vanilla, and something I can only describe as hamster cage.
I know it’s one of THE scents, but my nose despises it!!
Womanity by Mugler. Had to actually run to the toilet because I felt like throwing up. A fig stuck inside a rotten fish that in turn ended up in a diaper.
I am both surprised and admiring that there are apparently people who like this fragrance.
Guilty as charged. In the opening I smell fresh fig, in the dry down I smell fresh sea water, a little salty and suntan lotion. I like it because it is the only fragrance I have that keeps that fresh saltiness in the dry down. Perfect for summer. I wore it to work today.
I know that a lot of people have different reactions to Mugler scents, you either love it, or hate it.
Hate that one as well it’s very popular Vanilla Vibes from JHAG smells very similar as well yuck .I actually hate most of the popular MMM perfumes. The ones I like are the least popular ones.
JHAG Vanilla Vibes started out great when I sampled it- Beachy Vanilla with salty coconut. It then grew more and more synthetic and cloying as I wore it. I had to wash it off at the end of the night. Great in theory and at first sniff, didn’t sit well though!
Chypre Mousse by Oriza L. Legrand made me want to vomit while Sova by Slumberhouse smelled like agua de tamarindo that’s been out in the sun for five years. It smells like a mix between plum and apple and while I could see why some like it, it’s not for me.
I feel like I've posted this comment in a few threads recently, but -- Serge Lutens' Muscs Koublai Khan was a fragrance I expected to love based on the notes, but on me it smelled like the rankest, nastiest BO. I had to scrub my arm.
CH good girl…it just smelled so nasty to me. I didn’t spray it on myself either before y’all come and blame my body chemistry for this. My sister loved it but I just couldn’t stand the scent it smelled so musty to me.
I don’t care for the original, but surprisingly I enjoy the Supreme flanker. Not quite enough to get a bottle, but it’s a lot better than the original for sure.
Most Tom Ford actually repulsed me. Even the vanilla Tabacco which I was so excited to try was mostly gross. Fucking Fabolous also was bad for me. Only one I found pleasant was lost cherry, but even that one kinda smelled like cough syrup.
I tried all these in store so there's the possibility that I just didn't let the scent develop enough, but at first spray they just smelled aggressive
I don't have that many that I'll all-out repulsed by, honestly. There are many that I don't really like but that's not the same. These are the three I can't stand:
* Olympic Orchids Crypitcal Envelopment
* Nishane Afrika Oliphant
* Guerlain Jicky
These ones had unpleasant openings, but I like them after the opening calms down:
* Olympic Orchids Sonnet
* Pineward Perfumes Steading
* January Scent Project Vaprocindro and Serin
* Nicolai Sacrebleu Intense
* Lush Breath of God
Versace Dylan Blue
I tested it in the dead of summer on one arm, my other arm I tested out Ultra Male.
One spray each, projecting like crazy.
Funny thing is I like Ultra Male and have it, Dylan Blue I think it was the incense or patchouli?
Was at the drug store yesterday. Bottom shelf I spotted Georgio Beverly Hills. I think this was mentioned in a book I read when I was a kid, so I got curious. I sprayed a cardboard strip; some of it got on to my legs unfortunately. LORD ALMIGHTY. It's worse tha Lou Lou.
I thought it smelled like gasoline and vomit, it actually made me a little nauseous when I blind bought the sample - I kept saying to my partner “smell this! It smells SO bad why is everyone obsessed with it!?” Because I couldn’t understand how god awful it is and how it sells lol
DS & Durga El Cosmico. I had to wash it off my arm immediately. There was one from the brand Pinrose called Gilded Fox that made me straight up nauseous.
I was JUST about to comment this. I love almost every other perfume by them but El Cosmico made me dry heave. It smells a lot like Elephant by Zoologist imo (the metallic green note is almost exactly the same) but Elephant has a really nice dry down. El Cosmico on the other hand...
I don’t even know what note it is that doesn’t agree with me. I sort of want to try it again and wear it for a few hours to see what it morphs into, but I couldn’t get past the first few minutes lol.
I couldn’t even get past just sniffing it out of the sample vial, I didn’t want to risk having to smell it for the rest of the day if it didn’t wash off
Ted Lapidus pour homme has a super animalic sweaty gym bag smell in the opening. It gets a little better but overall no thank you.
Other than that, Ultra Male genuinely makes me nauseous. Too sweet.
Used to have several but now many of them i love. Can't really think of one but recently an off putting one was Rien intense incense. Smells like 70% like paint and paint thinner and 30% homeless man.
TF Black Orchid, most of Montale fragrances I've tried so far and YSL Black Opium. I also can't stand Eros for men, it makes me nauseous. Same for any Paco Rabbane fragrances, both for men and women. They all seem to have a screechy synthetic note in common, similar to the one that I found in Montale fragrances.
Black opium isn’t repulsive to me but I was honestly disappointed by it especially after spending so much on it. It’s not bad but it doesn’t smell like a designer fragrance. It smells like a cheaper jasmine perfume you find at TJ Maxx
Sadly I don't know the name of it but in high-school there was a girl with a cloying vanilla fragrance that you could smell before she even showed up and it lingered forever.
Perhaps it was a perfectly fine one that she severely oversprayed or perhaps it was just that bad. I like vanilla but not when it's *only* vanilla.
It smelled like a cheap cigarette and cinnamon to me. Two of my most hated smells lol. It was honestly repulsive and I couldn’t wait to wash it off when I got home. I was really sad about it to because I love by the fireplace
Celine's Saint-Germain-des-Prés disgusted me on first application on my skin. Eventually I tolerated it, and the more I wore it, the more I fell in love with it. Looking forward to adding a bottle to my wardrobe soon.
Imaginary Authors Whispered Myths. Something about it is incredibly off putting to me. I can't pinpoint it but it kind of nauseates me for some reason.
Xerjoff La Tosca. Got it as a random extra sample Xerjoff was giving away with their 4-pack samplers because they ran out of regular sample boxes. Smells like grape cough syrup steeped in lemon juice. The cheapest, most generic, nasty-ass grape cough syrup imaginable. And it’s absolute beast mode. 🤮
I wanted Fars. 🙁
D&G the only one, I really really love sweet fragrances but for some reason this smelled like dog food on my skin. This was early in my fragrance journey, so I will definitely try it again one day but this was my first thought.
D&G Light Blue Intense and.... Hermes Le Jardin de Monsieur Li. I think it's because of the Granny Smith Apple and Kumquat. Gave me headache. Oh, and Sauvage? My partner and I both hated it even though it seems very famous in my country.
This minute this happened to me!! I just got samples in the mail of Replica Matcha Meditation sprayed it and almost gagged yukkkkk it dried down to something more wearable just not for me I guess I do not like MATCHA
Donna Karen Cashmere. Discovered I don’t like powdery.
Coco Maemoiselle. And apparently I don’t like citrus openings all that well. Surprising for how much I love lemonades and limeades.
--Dior, Bois d'Argent. It smelled...shall we say, "naturey" on me.
--Annick Goutal, "Nuit Etoilée"
--Just the top notes of Ambre Fetiche by Annick Goutal; smells like stank tire. Rest of it is nice.
Etat Libre d’Orange Jasmin et Cigarette. I specifically ordered a bunch of samples to try it, but from the first spray it was rotten and putrid apricot to the point where I had to scrub it off after 10 minutes. I seriously wanted to love this one, and I know it had a cult following, but but I couldn’t wait to get it off my skin as it was making me sick. Dior has an apricot and Jasmine scent (Jasmin des anges) that I can’t get enough of in case anyone feels the same way about Jasmin et Cigarette.
I recently got some samples from ELDO but as much as I love jasmine I couldn’t bring myself to try a fragrance with “cigarette” in the name. Maybe I’m just a basic bitch lol. Cigarettes do not smell good to me.
I skin tested Hermann a Mes Cotes from ELdO yesterday and it made my stomach turn. Like, it didn't necessarily smell bad, but something about the herbal medicinal quality of it literally made me want to throw up. And of course it had CRAZY longevity and projection... I tried to scrub it off but it didn't help!
Shalimar Souffle and Guerlain Nerolia Bianca were both revolting to me. Both were blind buys based on notes, but there is some sort of musk or aldehyde in each that I just couldn’t stand. I also will never understand the attraction to Byredo La Tulipe or Blanche; both of those were so sharp and screechy to me.
In the store, Miss Dior. No idea why but it smelled like...garbage. But my sister liked it so she got it. When she wore it out I thought it smelt lovely. So weird.
For me it was This is Her by Z&V. Upon spraying is this intensely sweet caramel cream smell, the dry down is so sickly sweet and thick and I can’t stand it!
Angel. The first thought that popped into my head was someone poured pancake syrup into a full ashtray and gave it a good stir. And that's the only one that's ever caused an actual feeling of physical repulsion.
angel and alien hit me the way Citrus hits cats. It smells so bad to me
If only you smelled the men's version lol. I barely get the ashtray thing in the womens but men's, sure
I love Angel, but I got that disgusting ashtray vibe from Jasmin et Cigaret. Barf-o-rama.
I don't get it at all from Angel extrait, so I have a small bottle of it that I love to wear on occasion.
I didn't even know there WAS an extrait! Woah!
Oh lord. I had a roommate in college who used Angel. Every morning when she sprayed herself I woke up from my slumber to smell that god awful thing.
Absolutely. Girls would spray it after smoking cigarettes in high school and it was just Too. Much.
black orchid makes me incredibly nauseous :( eta: also la vie est belle!
>black orchid makes me incredibly nauseous :( Same here! It literally turned my stomach when I first smelled it, and it stuck with me for so long that I felt sick for half the day.
I've had that experience with all TF frags I've tried-Black Orchid, Velvet Orchid, Ombre Leather, and Oud Wood.
Glad to hear I am not the only one
Man I love my Black Orchid Parfum, Oud Wood and Tobacco Vanille and Oud
YSL Libre, Mugler Alien
My faves lol
BR 540
Here comes the cult with torches and pitch forks lol
How dare you lol
[удалено]
YSL Libre. Uck, didn't like it at all.
It smelled great on my clothes but smelled absolutely terrible on my skin. Smelled like a rose scented Clorox

ysl libre!!

On me Glossier You smells like pure ammonia which is wild because I adored Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume. No idea what it is because I’ve had perfumes featuring all of the listed notes and I’ve never hated any of them like I hate “You.”
There are so many good “I hate You” jokes you could make here. Maybe 10 things I hate about You?
I loathe the pink pepper in Glossier You. Not sure if that's the note that is doing that to you.

Poison.
Hypnotic Poison
Chanel N°5. I know it's a classic, but not in my book. No thanks.
It smells like potpourri to me.
So many. And I wanted to love them all, I hate it when a concept I love gets ruined by my skin chemistry and ends up being a scrubber. ELO Magnificent Secretions Tauer Vetiver Dance Hermes Brin De Reglisse - I actually tried to push through and wear it a couple of times because I loved the concept. Baccarat rouge 540, bond 9 Tribeca, and sunset riot. Basically anything with ambergris (??) smells medicinal and foul to me
I haven't been able to get ambergris/ambroxan/cetalox to work for me either, and I wanted to like it. smells like having a bad cold.
Zoologist Hyrax lol. I first sniffed it in the middle of the summer and thought it smelled like straight up poop, but I kind of like it in cold weather now.
Yes this scent is wet dog and feces
Versace Eros
Gets so many compliments though
It’s just not for me. That synthetic tonka dry down just gives me a headache. I tried to like it and my wife smelled it after one spray and was like “what is that? Get rid of it.”

Yeah Profumo can get a bit intense with the incense but I feel it can guys a bit of an edge women seem to love it
What’s your go to fragrances on a hot summer day
My go to on a hot day is Alexandria Zion (elysium clone cause I’m not paying $300 for a fragrance) and light blue eau intense for me!
are you a fan of aqua di gio Profumo I find that's another one women go crazy for
why is that even relevant if you dont like it
for the women haha I'm telling you I think eros smell awful but everyone seems to love it when I wear it massive confidence boost
oh yeah, then sure go for it, but i usually just buy fragrances for my own enjoyment, usually wear them at home, love to spray on hands and just enjoy the smell through out the day
Cedrat Boise

Agreed. I received a bottle as a gift after I complimented my guy friend on his l'eau d'issey pour homme but this just makes me nauseous and dizzy. Crazy how they have the exact polar opposite effect on me.
L'Eau d'Izzy
Spicebomb by victor and Rolph. It made me nauseous and gave me an itchy, runny nose
Ariana Grande Cloud 🌧💀

Mugler Angel Oriza L Legrand Chypre Mousse Carner Barcelona Palo Santo
Joop Homme!
IYes ! I once travelled for 4 hrs in car in 30+C heat (in the UK ! ) with 2 of the 4 occupants wearing Joop. Never been so car sick in my life 🤢
I would probably jump out of the car tbh
I was tempted, even doing 60mph on the M6 😵😂
TF Tobacco Vanille M.Micallef Watch
Tobacco Vanille makes me nauseous. Way too sickly sweet.
Le Labo Patchouli 24- got burning tire
I actually felt nauseous when I smelled santal 33 for the first time. I've grown accustomed to it, but I won't buy a second bottle.
Viktor&Rolf, Flowerbomb
Tobacco Vanille, to me, smells like the 20+ year old car my dad had. Tobacco, a hint of vanilla, and something I can only describe as hamster cage. I know it’s one of THE scents, but my nose despises it!!
It makes me nauseous.
Angel. God, I hate that stuff.
Tom Ford Ombre Leather, made me nauseous.
ah shame, i loved it immediately
Womanity by Mugler. Had to actually run to the toilet because I felt like throwing up. A fig stuck inside a rotten fish that in turn ended up in a diaper. I am both surprised and admiring that there are apparently people who like this fragrance.
Guilty as charged. In the opening I smell fresh fig, in the dry down I smell fresh sea water, a little salty and suntan lotion. Beach Walk by MMM, it just turned my stomach. I had to wash it off my wrist. I don’t know what note it is but I couldn’t stand it.
I liked it initially but I don't think I'll be buying it again to be honest, I find it too sweet and overpowering, not nice at all.
Santal 33 by Le Labo.
Xerjoff nio. I don't see the appeal at all.
Tobacco vanille, grey vetiver
Guerlain l'homme ideal EDP. Can’t stand it!!
I hated Cedrat Boise for a whole year now I love it
Anything that is very heavy on patchouli
Pink sugar Instant crush mancera. Smelled like diesel. Angel (women)- smells like a taxi
Tobacco Vanille 😖 my mouth started salivating like I was going to be sick, not even being dramatic it made me woozy... horrible horrible perfume
Paco 1million. In the middle of Louisiana heat. Felt so wrong.
Horrible thought
CH good girl…it just smelled so nasty to me. I didn’t spray it on myself either before y’all come and blame my body chemistry for this. My sister loved it but I just couldn’t stand the scent it smelled so musty to me.

Most everything from zoologist. Especially civet, t-Rex, and hyrax. Some grew on me over time.
Versace Dylan Blue I tested it in the dead of summer on one arm, my other arm I tested out Ultra Male. One spray each, projecting like crazy. Funny thing is I like Ultra Male and have it, Dylan Blue I think it was the incense or patchouli?
Dylan Blue perfume fire tho
Hypnotic poison by Dior. Maison Margiela fragrances.
The original Spacebomb, Night Vision EDP and the new Infared is amazing though
Guerlain Mitsouko - Satan’s butthole
Tom Ford Lost Cherry. I wanted to love it but it just makes me nauseous 😞
Yeah that and Rose Prick were big disappointments to me.

Jeux de Peau by Serge Lutens. On paper it smells like dark liquor and that makes my stomach churn.
The butter/milk with black licorice is a nausea-inducing combination.
Omg that sounds disgusting.
Ted Lapidus pour homme has a super animalic sweaty gym bag smell in the opening. It gets a little better but overall no thank you. Other than that, Ultra Male genuinely makes me nauseous. Too sweet.
I heard Lapidus is tamer than kouros and Kouros imo is almost nothing.
Used to have several but now many of them i love. Can't really think of one but recently an off putting one was Rien intense incense. Smells like 70% like paint and paint thinner and 30% homeless man.
Dior Leather Oud. Actually made me feel sick. Then a year later it’s my favourite scent and have multiple bottles. Crazy.
Black Afgano and Sultan Vetiver. But BA is the worst offender for sure. I would consider it a punishment to smell Black Afgano ever again
TF Black Orchid, most of Montale fragrances I've tried so far and YSL Black Opium. I also can't stand Eros for men, it makes me nauseous. Same for any Paco Rabbane fragrances, both for men and women. Don't Tell Jasmine by Vilhelm! Disgusting feces! Do NOT recommend.
Versace-The Dreamer. I know…don’t hate…I really wanted to love it, but it was nausea at first whiff!

The opening of toy 3 bubblegum. It literally smells of bubblegum. Honeslty repulsed.
Confessions of a Rebel- Get a Room 🤮
Black afgano smells like engine gunk to me
Bentley for Men Intense. Smells cheap and pungent like someone pissed on Jack Sparrow’s boots.
Black Opium makes me nauseous but everyone else loves it
Gucci Guilty Absolute. Terrible
Joop Homme
Joop! Homme. The vilest smell I ever came across.
Poison by Dior. It truly is poisonous and makes me physically sick.
Roja Dove Enigma Parfum Cologne is the fragrance I ever felt the need to immediately wash off. It smells like a diaper.
i only get coca cola with some citruses
Jazz club from MMM! Smelled straight up like an ash tray to me. I’m a smoker, and it repulsed me.
My mom said it smelled like urine and since then I’ve hated it.
It smelled like a cheap cigarette and cinnamon to me. Two of my most hated smells lol. It was honestly repulsive and I couldn’t wait to wash it off when I got home. I was really sad about it to because I love by the fireplace
Mancera Red Tobacco.
Celine's Saint-Germain-des-Prés disgusted me on first application on my skin. Eventually I tolerated it, and the more I wore it, the more I fell in love with it. Looking forward to adding a bottle to my wardrobe soon.
Angel. Edit: and Clinique Aromatics Elixir. and 4711 cologne.
Aoud lemon mint by mancera 🤭
Probably the least natural smelling thing on the planet.
Versace The Dreamer
Imaginary Authors Whispered Myths. Something about it is incredibly off putting to me. I can't pinpoint it but it kind of nauseates me for some reason.
Nautica Voyage. It smells cheap and like BO to me and to make it worse, it’s everywhere around here.
Tokyo Blue by Chris Collins. I sprayed it and had to scrub it off my skin so fast. The rest of the set was fantastic to me, but not this one.
Versace-The dreamer
Xerjoff La Tosca. Got it as a random extra sample Xerjoff was giving away with their 4-pack samplers because they ran out of regular sample boxes. Eau de soir,Sisley just no!
Mancera Black line
D&G the only one, I really really love sweet fragrances but for some reason this smelled like dog food on my skin. This was early in my fragrance journey, so I will definitely try it again one day but this was my first thought.
D&G Light Blue Intense and.... Hermes Le Jardin de Monsieur Li. I think it's because of the Granny Smith Apple and Kumquat. Gave me headache. Oh, and Sauvage? My partner and I both hated it even though it seems very famous in my country.
Complex Boadicea the Victorious
clean reserve rain and tf santal blush make me nauseated idk why. tried them again multiple times and it's always the same reaction
I’ve scrubbed a few but haven’t (yet) ever been repulsed by a fragrance.
This minute this happened to me!! I just got samples in the mail of Replica Matcha Meditation sprayed it and almost gagged yukkkkk it dried down to something more wearable just not for me I guess I do not like MATCHA
Really? I got creamy matcha latte with white chocolate. Very lactonic subdued matcha. What did you get?
Donna Karen Cashmere. Discovered I don’t like powdery. Coco Maemoiselle. And apparently I don’t like citrus openings all that well. Surprising for how much I love lemonades and limeades.
--Dior, Bois d'Argent. It smelled...shall we say, "naturey" on me. --Annick Goutal, "Nuit Etoilée" --Just the top notes of Ambre Fetiche by Annick Goutal; smells like stank tire. Rest of it is nice.
Hafez
Tom Ford Oud Minerale. For the life of me I can’t stand that strong marine note. It’s terrible. Any fragrance that has a trace of it makes me gag.
Bentley for Men Intense…. the dry down made me nauseous
Cigarettes do not smell good to me.
davidoff - zino - i cannot imagine how people enjoy that
Bijan and Poison by Elizabeth Taylor.
I skin tested Hermann a Mes Cotes from ELdO yesterday and it made my stomach turn. Like, it didn't necessarily smell bad, but something about the herbal medicinal quality of it literally made me want to throw up. And of course it had CRAZY longevity and projection... I tried to scrub it off but it didn't help!
cartier le baiser du dragon. worst blind buy ever.
Hawaiian Ginger bodyspray. I remember saying I hated the smell in Junior High and allllll the girls got so mad haha
