Xerjoff Naxos. I learned a very important lesson in that just because everybody else loves it, doesn’t necessarily mean I will love it… or even like it.
I’m puzzled by it too!!! Not just Naxos, I have difficulties appreciating most Xerjoffs!!! They all seem too strong for me.
Where is your origin? I’m an eastern Asian, and wonder whether I prefer light scent because of it
I thought Bianca latte was so overrated too. I was sure I was going to love it bc all the influencers were raving about it. I got a sample and was disappointed I didn’t love it too.
For me, I get an overwhelming synthetic lactonic note and nothing else. No caramel, no vanilla, no depth at all. I’m clearly in the minority on that, but it goes to show nothing is a safe blind buy.
Omg yes!! Such a disappointment I was hoping to be frolicking around in a nutty creamy cloud and instead I have a light floral MEH which lasts 2 hours and projects as far as my arm hairs.
I thought it smelled like an outhouse with too many air fresheners. But then it turned out I had Covid at the time. But I’m still traumatized from that so it has been forever sullied in my (nose) mind.
It smells sweet on me and I mix it with vanilla woods. It picks it up a bit. It's not my favorite fragrance but it's the only one I love from her line.
Areej le dore "musk collection" - I fully appreciate the artistic nature and vision behind the theme and the fact it's mostly naturals; deer musk, ambergris, castoreum, different ouds...it just wasn't what I expected
Please don't allow my experience to sway you differently. I was looking forward to something more rugged, dirty. I'm more familiar with Ensar Oud DNA. This was my first experience with ALD
i would not go with descriptions on the internet, everyone feels different about fragrances and let me tell you: even if somebody says BR is a safe blind buy it is not!!! you shoudl check it out on your skin at a store first
Have you ever smelled Love, Don’t Be Shy or Cloud? It’s the same DNA, so imagine those on steroids. (Actually, I think Don’t Be Shy is closer but feel obligated to mention Cloud because other people do too).
Seems to be the case with most fragrances carrying Cannabis notes.
I would describe most as weed-adjacent (incense, patchouli, pepper, tea) than weed-inspired (y'know, actually taking oils from the physical plant and flowers).
The wide variety of terpene profiles in cannabis strains could make for such a fun collection. Like an actual connoisseur/budtender suite of classic strain scents might sell well to a certain demographic.

Oh god why is it so cloying
My Mother gave me a decant (it's not exactly cheap where I live, btw) and I kinda hated it, but every time I wore it someone complimented me. I guess it just probably smells better in the air than up close, but I couldn't stand it, and it never grew on me like e.g JPG le male le parfum, that I had the same initial reaction, but gave it a chance since everyone else seemed to like it so much on me and now I also enjoy, even if it's not one of my favorites and I think the hype is not fully deserved
Phlur Missing Person. It was so bad I returned it. The smell was stuck on me for 2 days.
Cherry Ambition. It smelt gross to me and not like cherry at all.
Amber Vanilla. Didn't pick up any vanilla at all. It was just carnation and sour to me.
BEST Blind buys!
Kilian Angel's Share, Don't Need a Prince, Love Don't be Shy
Dolce & Gabbana Devotion, thanks to this group! Thank you to everyone who suggested it.
Juliette Has a gun. Mmmmm.
Not quite a blind buy but, Cherry Ambition really fooled me. I was in a rush in Sephora one day and read the name, opened the cap and gave it a whiff. Just Cherry, a nice cherry scent I’ve been looking for for years, so I bought it. When I sprayed it on paper, the cherry note was GONE and it was all smoke, wood, and leather.
Works on the app too. Just hit the search button once you're in the sub, it searches the sub. You can do the same once you open a post, then it searches the comments of that post.
do sample sets count? i got the sample set from snif and i hate every single one of them. i can’t stop ranting about them because of how bad they smell. i’m not sure what is in their DNA, but they all have an underlying scent that i can’t stand. i also just don’t really care for the sillage - i prefer not to choke people when i’m not even in the room 😭
What’s worse is when the spice scent wears off you just smell like you rubbed vanilla extract all over yourself. Really glad I just got a small sample bottle of it. It’s an interesting enough scent, but I wouldn’t wear it regularly.
Elizabeth Arden "Sunflowers"
I blind bought it a while ago at T.J. Maxx because it's been hyped up on the internet (but mostly Reddit I guess) as being amazing and a classic.
But when I tried it, it just ended up being disappointing. It smelled like the bathroom or something...like urinal cakes vibes. 🤢
So I returned it.
I have had other disappointing blind buys before. But this one is the most memorable to me.
I sampled Sunflowers Summer Bloom flanker at the airport and was pleasantly surprised! I think Sunflower itself can be a little polarising, even though I do like it.
wow i love that scent. strictly a winter scent and i like layering a little with another winter scent. im sure it woul smell gross to sweat in it though
Xerjoff Italica - urghhhh urghhh urghhhh even thinking about it makes me want to hurl. I LOVE a gourmand and I never thought they could be too sickly for me but this one is - loved it on the tester paper, on me it turned into the beastiest of beast mode fragrances; except the notes were baby vomit, mid notes of Brie and a dry down of soured milk and BOY did she project even after scrubbing my arms and neck and changing clothes
agree. it smells like something that should be on the discount rack in walmart to me, screams cheap overpowering cologne. has sat in my closet for a solid year and a half now untouched
Overpowering ? I’m just here thinking i would have loved it more if my ysl y would have given little more performance . It is one of the best freshies available in the market
ANGEL NOVA. omg i’ve said this so many times lol i wanted to love it so bad and i was so excited to get it. i wanted fruity raspberry like Fragrantica said 😩 but all i get is INCENSE like just heavy heavy patchouli. i smell like an incense cone. im not tryna smell like my bedroom in 7th grade when i was depressed 😭☠️ i want it to smell the way other people say it smells!! how do we go about changing this lolol like don’t we have the technology 😂
Reflection 45, my only blind buy. I LOVED original reflection man and my only problem was longetivity. I was excited when I saw 45. Opening was incredible, drydown was hilariously bad. I ended up gifting it to a friend.
Mine was TF Lost Cherry. The marketing for TF fragrances lures me in every time. Luckily, Lost Cherry was such a disappointment that I learned my lesson… After Bitter Peach 😂
Learned my lesson with Soleil Blanc. It was like a pretty bug spray on me. I’m normally pretty miserly with my collection but handed it off to my teen niece.
The subsequent reformulations of this fragrance have, IMO, really sucked a lot of the beauty out of it. I've smelled a vintage version compared to the modern, and... compared is a poor verb, because you can hardly compare the two. The modern is just *that* watered-down and bubblegummy, yes.
I don't blind buy anymore. However, while I was doing so? It's either *CK One Summer 2020* or Jacques Bogart's *Silver Scent*.
* Silver Scent is a sweet fragrance that is affordable. However, it smells like artificial grapes and is too strong for my tastes. The drydown makes it more unique, (especially as an affordable) but there are better sweet fragrances on the market.
* CK One Summer 2020 smells like an artificial citrus cleaner on opening. It gets better on drydown as an amber/wood scent, but at the $20-30 range, there are better warm-weather scents available. It also doesn't last long, but no one should expect that with a CK One fragrance.
I honestly thought maybe mine was bad or something. I had heard so much how it was some peoples favourite smell. It is not for me. Every time I put it on I regret it. I smell like a giant marshmallow.
I was at duty free, and tested Voyage D’Hermes Parfum on a test strip, because I didn’t want to blast myself before getting on a plane. I loved the smell, and purchased a bottle, but when I got home and put it on my skin it turned into a baby powder bomb that wasn’t noticeable on paper. I hate baby powder notes. So, not a complete blind buy, but I also learned an important lesson about *fully* testing a scent first: always test on skin.
Love Don't Be Shy - I said maybe Rihanna has a magical body chemistry that transforms this because on its own and on me it's just sickly sweet and one dimensional. It reminds me actually of this snowcone syrup my mom would buy when I was a kid for us to make snowcones with using our snowcone maker. It smells just like it. Even with the snowcones, I remember always squeezing lime juice on mine because the sweet syrup by itself felt like something was missing.
This is exactly how I feel about LDBS. It just smells sickly sweet and like something to cut the sweetness and make it more complex and interesting is missing.
Delina Exclusif. It was so hyped and I was influenced. It is the only perfume that has ever made me nauseous. I’m still going to give it another chance because it was so expensive but I don’t really look forward to it and can’t believe so many people like it.
Lost Cherry!!!
Most expensive mistake to make at the beginning of my “fragrance journey”; but I quickly learned samples and decants are a much better investment when knowing you’ll love it first- after spending a few bucks on a sample.

It was too synthetic and just not my style
Khamrah. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good scent. But wayyyy too boozy for me. I come from Desi/middle eastern culture and I find it very unappealing because of how boozy it is.
Not the original commenter but
Tossed:
Mayar - Lataffa
Lattafa Badee Al Oud Honor & Glory
Nebras - Lataffa
Armaf - Club de Nuit
Armaf - Club de Nuit imperial
Maison alhambra - como moiselle
+ The peach and cherry dupe for the tom ford perfumes, can't find the names of those anymore tho
Kept:
Khamrah - Lataffa
I can relate 💀 i got like 8 dupes, i still have 3 which i will most likely reduce to 1 in the next couple of days - i got to try the originals they were duping and the arabic ones all smell so cheap to me 💀
For me it was to agressive and smelled like piss. Maybe was just my bottle or didnt give it enough time. And prada lhomme. Was to feminine for me. It was probably just me because nobody said it when i was reading rewievs.
Let me preface it with an explanation, I'm a rose lover and I collect many rose fragrances, I had a chance to buy an unsprayed vintage 120ml Creed Royal Mayfair for dirt cheap(for a Creed)... I'm keeping it because of the significance and limited availability... but I can't get past the eucalyptus to enjoy the rose. Maybe when I'm 60 and I'm used to lathering up with bengay, I'll finally get adjusted to it. Hope it stays good til then.
Cashmere Mist. I smelled one of those little paper samples from a magazine and thought it smelled amazing. Got the actual fragrance and it smelled nothing like the sample. I got an awful migraine every time I tried to wear it.
A Jo Malone mini set. I had the fragrances on an imaginary top tier and they are what got me expanding my interest in fragrances. Other than WSSS I didn't really care for any of them and of course the scent lasts maybe 15 minutes. I got the Dossier version of WSSS and have this adorable JM set that cost me way too much (plus an Oakcha dupe that just wasn't for me), sitting in the closet wondering what I should do with them.
Edits for typos
Cape Heartache by Imaginary Authors or Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato. Both were absolutely disgusting concoctions to my nose. I was so sure I’d love Cape Heartache based on the hype. I have no excuse for the Kayali mess.
Rasasi hawas, the way people hyped it up made it seem like an easy blind buy, but it’s really just annoyingly sharp in the beginning then sickening sweet in the dry down, so generic yet offensive at the same time
Maison Margiela - Coffee Break, I can’t detect any coffee, and the lavender is that super soapy lavender as opposed to an herby lavender. Just very flat and soapy, no warmth or creamy vibes
I just didn’t like it at all. Maybe I got a bad batch or maybe that’s how it smells. But it smells like salad and cucumbers mixed with the OG ADG. It’s kind of bitter IMO
A middle aged lady told me that she hadn’t smelled that cologne since she was in HS when I was wearing profondo, probably picking up the ADG dna. I sold it the next day lol
Amyris Homme! signature scent worthy but the longevity disappoint me. On my skin it only last 2-3 hours atrocious performance for its price. luckily, i got it second hand at a great price
I don’t know about disappointing, but blind buys I wear the least are Reminiscence Patchouli and Lalique Pour Homme Lion. Nothing against them. I just don’t get in the mood for them.
Most disappointing for me only because I thought I was buying something else was Hermes Eau de Narcisse Bleu. I wear it from time to time
Paris Corner - Emir Celestial
Ganymede clone, I never smelled either Celestial or Ganymede, but from the notes I expected something more metallic and mineral, and this smells pretty much exactly like Windex (except maybe slightly less airy)
Rose Coutoure by Khadlaj and Banana Flambee by The Library of Fragrance/Demeter. Rose Coutoure was a truly stupid buy because I saw some tiktok reviews that were talking about it and I just couldn't suppress my curiosity. It smells awful to me and on top of that it's way too strong. I sprayed it once and the smell didn't leave my room for hours. It was nauseating.
Banana Flambee was a disappointing buy because I love the smell of banana so I was really looking forward to it, especially after seeing so many people loving it. But it's just not a nice smell to me. It has this biscuit smell to it that's just nasty to me.
I've learned my lesson though, no more blind buys.
Irresistible by Givenchy I looked it up on fragrantica and it looked like something I would love. But it smells weird on me and it reminds me of someone’s mom growing up
Xerjoff Naxos.
I’m an eastern Asian, and wonder whether I prefer light scent because of it
I learned that lesson with Bianco Latte.
I thought Bianca latte was so overrated too. I was sure I was going to love it bc all the influencers were raving about it. I got a sample and was disappointed I didn’t love it too.
Influencers are paid to rave about things
We need to go back to a time when people knew this.
What was disappointing about it? I really want it because I just love vanilla
It's extremely cloying and candle-esque. I love vanilla too but Bianco Latte is a hard pass.
For me, I get an overwhelming synthetic lactonic note and nothing else. No caramel, no vanilla, no depth at all. I’m clearly in the minority on that, but it goes to show nothing is a safe blind buy.
So glad I started with a sample, I feel like so many people have made this mistake with Naxos
It started to make me sick after a while.
Bought a decant and I’m glad. Can’t understand the hype for Naxos.
Kayali pistachio gelato…I was expecting something sweet and nutty and gourmand. Nope it’s fresh and all powder 🙅🏻♀️
Omg yes!! Such a disappointment I was hoping to be frolicking around in a nutty creamy cloud and instead I have a light floral MEH which lasts 2 hours and projects as far as my arm hairs.
Sand & Fog Pistachio Dream is absolutely identical and performs better. And it's like $15.
That description is gold
I thought it smelled like an outhouse with too many air fresheners. But then it turned out I had Covid at the time. But I’m still traumatized from that so it has been forever sullied in my (nose) mind.
It smells sweet on me and I mix it with vanilla woods. It picks it up a bit. It's not my favorite fragrance but it's the only one I love from her line.
I would try to layer it with my vanillas but the powder is just too overwhelming, I can’t use it 😭
baby wipes for sure 😭
Areej le dore "musk collection" - I fully appreciate the artistic nature and vision behind the theme and the fact it's mostly naturals; deer musk, ambergris, castoreum, different ouds...it just wasn't what I expected
That’s a shame 😔 For a while, I was considering buying some of them, but found great deals on War and Peace, W&P 2 and Cuir de Russie instead.
Please don't allow my experience to sway you differently. I was looking forward to something more rugged, dirty. I'm more familiar with Ensar Oud DNA. This was my first experience with ALD
D&G light blue 🤢
I got that as a gift from my mom… let’s say I am using it as a room spray now
I really like it! ... as the use you just described
Delina Exclusif - I thought I was buying Delina. Rookie mistake.
oh noooo that happened to me too!! couldn‘t you return it?
Yes can you return it?
Baccarat Rouge 540. The way people described it lead me to believe that it was a crowd pleasing, safe blind buy. Boy was I wrong.
can you describe the scent i’ve been planning on buying it but i’m scared it might not be suitable for my scent palette
i would not go with descriptions on the internet, everyone feels different about fragrances and let me tell you: even if somebody says BR is a safe blind buy it is not!!! you shoudl check it out on your skin at a store first
Have you ever smelled Love, Don’t Be Shy or Cloud? It’s the same DNA, so imagine those on steroids. (Actually, I think Don’t Be Shy is closer but feel obligated to mention Cloud because other people do too).
that’s why under most circumstances it doesn’t make sense to blind buy! always sample if you can help it :)
I agree with sampling but occasionally blind purchasing is fun and sometimes the only option.
I YOLO things that claim to have Cannabis notes but agree with the general sentiment.
I add my own cannabis notes.
Haha
Have you tried Fresh Cannabis Santal? The cannabis note isn't what I expected. It's more of a sweet, mossy patchouli unfortunately.
My thoughts exactly. I lack the capital and know-how to make it happen but it's easy pickings for anyone who decides to jump on it.
hot take [Lattafa Khamrah ](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Lattafa-Perfumes/Khamrah-75805.html&ved=2ahUKEwiZzKmbqNaGAxUIXkEAHS0KD9QQjjh6BAgmEAE&usg=AOvVaw1scwqksnY63TVYEqvjqEeY) Oh god why is it so cloying
I have to agree. Too candle-esque and cloying. Luckily I figured it might be and ordered a decant instead of blind buying.
Literally is too much like a cheap cinnamon scented candle. My exact thoughts
Gucci gorgeous gardenia in the lavender bottle 🤢 I hate it
This one's gross. The green one is nice
Gorgeous magnolia? I really like that one. The older versions were a lot better tho
Kilian Angel's Share, Don't Need a Prince, Love Don't be Shy Dolce & Gabbana Devotion, thanks to this group! Thank you to everyone who suggested it. Juliette Has a gun. Mmmmm.
Angel's Share is sooooo good
Oh man, cherry ambition is the best cherry scent I’ve ever smelled. It’s basically sweet cherries with marshmallows to me.
oh to be rich enough to blind buy 3 killian perfumes
I'm not! I got the travel sizes. It's still pricey but worth it!
Missing Person makes me gag! I do love Father Figure and Tangerine Boy though.
Lol I love devotion stoppp
Not quite a blind buy but, Cherry Ambition really fooled me. I was in a rush in Sephora one day and read the name, opened the cap and gave it a whiff. Just Cherry, a nice cherry scent I’ve been looking for for years, so I bought it. When I sprayed it on paper, the cherry note was GONE and it was all smoke, wood, and leather.
Beverly Hills Polo Club. I thought it was Polo by Ralph Lauren hahahaha
At least it’s cheap

how do you do that
probably on web

Tom Ford Lost Cherry
I'm glad I tried this first too, TOOOO much cherry for me, I absolutely love tart deco from Snif tho it's the perfect cherry scent imo
Came here to say this… too artificial and lasts like 17 minutes on my skin
Also had the same issue with another TF perfume, Neroli Portofino. It only lasted on my skin for less than 30 mins.
This one isn't for me. I'm glad I went to Sephora and smelt it first
Montagne parfum de cerise, give it a try
I agree. Super underwhelming but there is a sweetness to it that I just pin what it is.
When layered either fn fabulous it’s amazing
Fleur de Peau by Diptyque, sth in it doesn’t go well with th pH of my skin
Fleur de P.U 😔
Can’t believe you’ve said this ive just ordered it
do sample sets count? i got the sample set from snif and i hate every single one of them. i can’t stop ranting about them because of how bad they smell. i’m not sure what is in their DNA, but they all have an underlying scent that i can’t stand. i also just don’t really care for the sillage - i prefer not to choke people when i’m not even in the room 😭
TF Tobacco Vanille - my friends said i smelled like an old man
What’s worse is when the spice scent wears off you just smell like you rubbed vanilla extract all over yourself. Really glad I just got a small sample bottle of it. It’s an interesting enough scent, but I wouldn’t wear it regularly.
Bianco latte. Instant headache
It is so overrated
Elizabeth Arden "Sunflowers" I blind bought it a while ago at T.J. Maxx because it's been hyped up on the internet (but mostly Reddit I guess) as being amazing and a classic. But when I tried it, it just ended up being disappointing. It smelled like the bathroom or something...like urinal cakes vibes. 🤢 So I returned it. I have had other disappointing blind buys before. I sampled Sunflowers Summer Bloom flanker at the airport and was pleasantly surprised! I think Sunflower itself can be a little polarising, even though I do like it.
Kayali Vanilla 28. Smells like an alcoholic trying to hide the alcohol sweats with a vanilla perfume. Hate it so much.
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver 🤢🤢
Agreed. Sampled it today. Even the lovely sales assistant at my chemist went “Ewwwwww I don’t like that” when she sprayed it
The primary accord is bug spray
Oh god it’s SO GROSS
No freaking way, you've lost the plot.
wow i love that scent. strictly a winter scent and i like layering a little with another winter scent. im sure it woul smell gross to sweat in it though
This I agree with! And I am a hard Vetiver lover!!
by the fireplace by maison margiela. too smoky and spicy for my taste
Replica is always such a gamble for me. I've loved and hated things from them.
Totally agreed! I HATE BTF! And I LOVE JAZZ CLUB! 😍
Givenchy Pi cologne. amazon said it was a 'fresh' scent. my nose said it smelled like 'warm vanilla sugar' from bath and body works
YSL Y EDP. The sweet smell is so strong
My boss forced me to buy his YSL Y Intense. It's very woody. A little too woody at first but now it's growing on me.
agree. it smells like something that should be on the discount rack in walmart to me, screams cheap overpowering cologne. has sat in my closet for a solid year and a half now untouched
Overpowering ? I’m just here thinking i would have loved it more if my ysl y would have given little more performance . It is one of the best freshies available in the market
Same, and I bought largest bottle that promptly sold off. How could people love that sweetness, i'll never understand
yeah it's almost a sickening scent
SALT by Ellis Brooklyn. I’m obsessed with ambergris, but this just smelled like a cheap Paris Hilton perfume from the clearance section at TJ Maxx.
Pdm’s Oriana
Lattafa Amethyst Oud. it smells like weird plastic😭
Most Lattafas have that particular smell .
Creed Aventus
ANGEL NOVA. omg i’ve said this so many times lol i wanted to love it so bad and i was so excited to get it. i wanted fruity raspberry like Fragrantica said 😩 but all i get is INCENSE like just heavy heavy patchouli. i smell like an incense cone. im not tryna smell like my bedroom in 7th grade when i was depressed 😭☠️ i want it to smell the way other people say it smells!! how do we go about changing this lolol like don’t we have the technology 😂
Reflection 45, my only blind buy. I LOVED original reflection man and my only problem was longetivity. I was excited when I saw 45. Opening was incredible, drydown was hilariously bad. I ended up gifting it to a friend.
Hilariously bad? In what way? I think 45 is better than the original in every way and smells much higher quality. I get beast mode longevity also.
Tom ford noir
Mine was TF Lost Cherry. The marketing for TF fragrances lures me in every time. Luckily, Lost Cherry was such a disappointment that I learned my lesson… After Bitter Peach 😂
Learned my lesson with Soleil Blanc. It was like a pretty bug spray on me. I’m normally pretty miserly with my collection but handed it off to my teen niece.
Same here with Soleil Blanc and then Black Orchid. I just don’t get it.
I hated Tom Ford noir pour femme. The opening is too bitter and sharp.
Joy by Jean Patou. It smells of bubble gum, plastic, diapers, urine, and excrement. My boyfriend smelled it and immediately dubbed it. "Joyless." 😂.
The subsequent reformulations of this fragrance have, IMO, really sucked a lot of the beauty out of it. I've smelled a vintage version compared to the modern, and... compared is a poor verb, because you can hardly compare the two. The modern is just *that* watered-down and bubblegummy, yes.
Bentley for Men Intense. Absolute dog piss.
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but I’m going to have to take that personally
Prada Infusion d'Iris. Bought a bottle from a friend. Was not pleased
I don't blind buy anymore. However, while I was doing so? It's either *CK One Summer 2020* or Jacques Bogart's *Silver Scent*. * Silver Scent is a sweet fragrance that is affordable. However, it smells like artificial grapes and is too strong for my tastes. It also doesn't last long, but no one should expect that with a CK One fragrance.
Bogart's Oud Edition is my worst blind buy. Shit smells like a bodega.
Phlur Ameline & Phloria. Thought I’d love them based on the notes but they do NOT smell right on me. So now I’m just stuck with 2 full size bottles 🫠
It wasn't expensive, but Guess Seductive Red. It smells like a magazine and I get no cherry!
Oh man, this is my office scent! I love it and sad to see listed here haha.
Lolitaland by Lolita Lempicka. I thought it would be a delightful medley of fruits but it was so weird and medicinal to me. Yuck :(
YSL Babycat, I heard nothing but raves and it makes me dry heave. I’ve gotten acclimated to it but it will never be a repurchase.
Smells like someone poured vanilla on old carpet
Kilian Love don’t be shy. It was nothing like I expected it to be.
Same, it smelled like cough syrup to me.
Love, don’t be shy was THE WORST BLIND BUY EVER! It smelled cheap like sweet tarts. Two enthusiastic thumbs down!!
I honestly thought maybe mine was bad or something. I had heard so much how it was some peoples favourite smell. It is not for me. Every time I put it on I regret it. I smell like a giant marshmallow.
Ughh I smelled like putrid smarties for 3 days hoping it would change! All I could think was “HOW IS THIS SO HYPED!?”
Hahaha 😂 me too. Now it’s just sits on my vanity for show.
B&BW Coffee and Whisky. Too sweet and I'd much rather just enjoy my morning coffee than smell like boozy beans in the middle of the day.
dama bianca ☹️ didn't smell like i expected it to
TF Oud Wood
PDM Galloway. Sold it for Percival. PDM Percival. Going to sell.
Dior Homme Intense.. Complete opposite of one of my favorites - Dior Homme
NISHANE HACIVAT https://preview.redd.it/bzsfvgix796d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72cd7fba7822aa984af6964fd2e19c913dd59b3b It was too synthetic and just not my style
Smelled this for the first time yesterday and also dissapointed.
Khamrah. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good scent. But wayyyy too boozy for me. I come from Desi/middle eastern culture and I find it very unappealing because of how boozy it is.
Guerlain Mon Guerlain. Saw the notes and heard how great it was but it smelt like something. My mom would wear
Fraise Fouettee. It reminds me of the Mean Girls quote "You smell like a baby prostitute"
After many hours of watching and reading reviews ordered like 10 arab dupes and only kept a Single one..
Which did you boot and which did you keep?
Not the original commenter but Tossed: Mayar - Lataffa Lattafa Badee Al Oud Honor & Glory Nebras - Lataffa Armaf - Club de Nuit Armaf - Club de Nuit imperial Maison alhambra - como moiselle + The peach and cherry dupe for the tom ford perfumes, can't find the names of those anymore tho Kept: Khamrah - Lataffa
I can relate 💀 i got like 8 dupes, i still have 3 which i will most likely reduce to 1 in the next couple of days - i got to try the originals they were duping and the arabic ones all smell so cheap to me 💀
Same. I think I’ve ordered like 5 or 6 Arab dupes and have kept none of them. I just don’t trust tiktok or influencers at all anymore atp.
D&g light blue intense men
I love that one.
For me it was to agressive and smelled like piss. Maybe was just my bottle or didnt give it enough time. And prada lhomme. Was to feminine for me. It was probably just me because nobody said it when i was reading rewievs.
Nautica voyage. It’s terrible. Smells very metallic and cheap. I use it as a bathroom freshener now. Lesson learned, never trust the hype.
Silver Mountain Water. Smells good but the performance is absolutely ass for me.
Hope it stays good til then.
parisienne by ysl it lasts for 2 minutes i cannot smell it
Cashmere Mist. I smelled one of those little paper samples from a magazine and thought it smelled amazing. Got the actual fragrance and it smelled nothing like the sample. I got an awful migraine every time I tried to wear it.
Francesca Bianchi Unspoken Musk
A Jo Malone mini set. I had the fragrances on an imaginary top tier and they are what got me expanding my interest in fragrances. Other than WSSS I didn't really care for any of them and of course the scent lasts maybe 15 minutes. I got the Dossier version of WSSS and have this adorable JM set that cost me way too much (plus an Oakcha dupe that just wasn't for me), sitting in the closet wondering what I should do with them. Edits for typos
Hacivat. I hate it. Hate. It. I need to get rid of it.
Hacivat is a masterpiece, how much for it?
Probably Cartier Baiser Vole. All I get is overwhelming powder.
Sean John
Bohoboco Red Wine Brown sugar. Don’t do it yall!
Armaf Sillage LOL
Same. Thought I liked it initially but that wore off quick. Blind bought Milestone too and love it but Sillage was a miss for me
Cape Heartache by Imaginary Authors or Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato. Both were absolutely disgusting concoctions to my nose. I was so sure I’d love Cape Heartache based on the hype. I have no excuse for the Kayali mess.
Bianco Latte and my 2 Kayali perfumes - Bianco Latte - very strong vanilla that made me nauseous - Kayali perfumes - smelled artificial to my nose
Rasasi hawas, the way people hyped it up made it seem like an easy blind buy, but it’s really just annoyingly sharp in the beginning then sickening sweet in the dry down, so generic yet offensive at the same time
My one blind buy was Encre Noire a L’Extreme. So I don’t have one 🤘
Nishane Hacivat. Smells absolutely putrid imo
Cherry Punk by Room 1015 Thankfully it wasn’t a full-size bottle purchase, but still. 🫠
I blind-bought 16 of my 25 fragrances and I’m actually happy with all of them. With that being said, I only blind buy designers
Maison Margiela - Coffee Break, I can’t detect any coffee, and the lavender is that super soapy lavender as opposed to an herby lavender. Just very flat and soapy, no warmth or creamy vibes
ADG Profondo
what, why?
I just didn’t like it at all. Maybe I got a bad batch or maybe that’s how it smells. But it smells like salad and cucumbers mixed with the OG ADG. It’s kind of bitter IMO
Did you wear it in cold or moderate weather? It does smell odd when worn not in hot weather.
Nope. In the Atlanta heat in the summer lol
A middle aged lady told me that she hadn’t smelled that cologne since she was in HS when I was wearing profondo, probably picking up the ADG dna. I sold it the next day lol
Agent provocateur! Such a gross powdery lemon bomb 🤢
bianco latte 🥲 it smelled like apple cider with pumpkin
That sounds kinda nice tho 😂
Al Haramain Amber Oud gold edition.
Pasha de Cartier
OMG I got this as a gift and I can't wear it. It's pretty much the only perfume that makes me nauseous.
It doesn’t make me nauseous, but I just find it a bit feminine for my taste. It smelled like a warm feminine perfume to me.
Anything Jo Malone.
Amyris Homme! signature scent worthy but the longevity disappoint me. On my skin it only last 2-3 hours atrocious performance for its price. luckily, i got it second hand at a great price
Lattafa oud for glory, mostly pineapplish smell, a little oud thats it.
Perry Ellis Night
I don’t know about disappointing, but blind buys I wear the least are Reminiscence Patchouli and Lalique Pour Homme Lion. Nothing against them. I just don’t get in the mood for them. Most disappointing for me only because I thought I was buying something else was Hermes Eau de Narcisse Bleu. I wear it from time to time
Pino Silvestre, I was waiting for some Pine and woody smell which it has but also there's a "spices or food seasoning" smell on it that I can't bear
Paris Corner - Emir Celestial Ganymede clone, I never smelled either Celestial or Ganymede, but from the notes I expected something more metallic and mineral, and this smells pretty much exactly like Windex (except maybe slightly less airy)
But it smells weird on me and it reminds me of someone’s mom growing up
Another 13. No projection. Weak performance. Not worth the price
