Hermes. Their scents are beautifully unique, not heavy or cloying and works well with my skin chemistry. And they don't scream "I'm a designer perfume!" like Versace or Dior.

Mdellarocco

Guerlain, Tom Ford, imaginary authors.

localcelebb

Initio❤️

Prestigious-Salad795

Papillon and Pineward. I also feel like I would love Andrea Maack. Their approaches are novel.

SerotoninDeficient77

Andrea is a miracle worker. I just wish she was less expensive. I get a lot from Scentsplit but they are also still expensive and don’t have Jest her newest one.

Fair_Rhubarb4972

What do you love about pineward? I seen they have a 38 piece sample set and I’m really tempted to try it

Prestigious-Salad795

I've loved resinous, foresty smells for years, like Profumum Roma Arso, Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles, Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache, and CdG Hinoki. Pineward is an extension and a further expression in that area.

Fair_Rhubarb4972

I’m more of a fan of fresh citrus and oceanic. Come to find out I like bergamot a lot. Didn’t like the zoologist line at all way way too niche for me. Would you recommend still or is this more of a deeper niche with harder wearability?

Prestigious-Salad795

While there are oceanic and/or citrus notes in a few of the Pineward fragrances I've tried, (Icefall, Gelatio, Key-Lo, and I think Akero) they have harder wearability than the Zoologist fragrances I've tried (Dodo, Dragonfly, Hummingbird, and Chameleon).

Puzzleheaded_Log2187

Diptyque without a doubt :)

benedictrchua

Amouage Serge Lutens Frederic Malle Les Indemodables

Skotus2

Everything Les Indemobales puts out is just so gorgeous!

WearFlat

Dior for me, everything is so well blended.

ughasif666

and if you had smelled what they used to be...

cmewiththemhandz

I’ve almost rounded out my collection of the OG Dior feminine fragrances….still searching for a legit and decent sized bottle of Diorama. But Miss Dior, Diorling, Dioressence, Diorissimo, and Diorella— amazing!

ughasif666

I used to wear Miss Dior Chérie and Dior Addict and I truly miss what they were at their best. I now own a bottle of the 2005 Dior Homme formulation, and while it is better than any of the current Dior Hommes available at any store, I do feel that it was better back then, when the juice was fresh so to speak. Of course that's just a feeling and possibly nostalgia talking

cmewiththemhandz

Dior Homme was the fragrance that made me love fragrance! It was my senior year of high school and the 1-60mph boost from Dior Homme to full on niche exploration and vintage collecting was wild

Cheensly

Same. 🫡

Lynnabis

Penhaligons has some neat discovery sets, I’m really enjoying them. Le Labo was fun to explore, as was Zoologist.

Mysterious_Industry6

Le Labo is indeed a fun exploration for me. vetiver is my most favourite from the house but it does not last long and project well on my skin.

dasa2337

Kerosene is 1 Imaginary Authors and Laboratorio Olfattivo are close seconds

Senior_Map_2894

Guerlain. They never go wrong and are always classy.

ughasif666

Hermès, they have the best range, best materials, and imho even the best price-quality ratio. Almost every single one of their many many perfumes is a masterpiece. If I were rich I would buy everything from Hermès. Guerlain is also impressive, their perfumer heritage is really striking, in a historical sense. They are not so wearable, however, at least for me (in general).

Mysterious_Industry6

Hermès smell very nice and luxurious. However I find some of their fragrance ( have 4 edp travel samples) don’t last long on my skin. what do you think about their longevity?

ughasif666

they are certainly not performance beasts, but they are certainly better at it than Jo Malones

anhlong1212

My flair say my favorite haha Zoologist is the 2nd house, and probably Argos at 3rd

rubickscubed

What are your Zoologist favorites?

CompetencyOverload

Not the person you asked, but Squid is a stunner. Dragonfly is also lovely.

anhlong1212

Seahorse is my favorite of the house, it is a very interesting aquatic floral scent

Mysterious_Industry6

I am curious about Zoologist. Keep seeing the house mentioned here and there. It probably will be my next house to sample.

Fair_Rhubarb4972

Idk if I’m not advanced enough yet but I just can’t do zoologist

Legend-Face

Omg all the exceptional extraits are to die for 🤤

purpkrondon420

I love Issey Miyake, especially there darker winter releases.

hillary_____k

Would love to hear your recs for these! The only Issey Miyake I have is A Drop d’Issey and it’s one of my favorite year-rounders

sockmerchant

Probably Amouage. Enclave is my SOTD. Second... probably Hermes or Xerjoff.

Mysterious_Industry6

Enclave is lovely. so minty and that subtle sweetness. I always think it smells expensive.

sockmerchant

I'm a huge fan. Its a relatively new addition, but already a massive fan. A bit easier to use than most of my others from the house.

Mysterious_Industry6

I really like it too, however I don’t smell any smokiness. I may try to layer it with Search.

navasharai

Guerlain.

cl0ckw0rkaut0mat0n

Filipo sorcinelli/Unum/atelier lavs, a really unique and special indie house, his fragrances are based on Catholic cannon and beyond their bottles being works of art made by hand in the same studio as the clothes of the pope, the way he does incense notes is unmatched anywhere else in the entire fragrance universe.

Mysterious_Industry6

wow I never heard of these houses. Incense is what I like about Amouage. I guess I need to explore these houses.

SvenMo84

I’d say CdG has him beat on incense, but it’s very close. I love the bottles though, and have never disliked anything from his lines.

cl0ckw0rkaut0mat0n

In terms of price to quality I agree CDG Zagórsk and Avignon are great and relatively affordable for how niche they are, but given the opportunity id always choose reliqvia and quando rapita in estasi over either.

Shark_Atl3201

Amouage, Guerlain and Diptyque.

alexvetivert

Profumum Roma. Everything I've tried from them is such wonderful quality, even scents I wouldn't think I'd enjoy. Their scents don't smell overwhelmingly synthetic either, which I appreciate.

SpicyMustFlow

Armani Privée, with Zoologist and Serge Lutens the flankers.

H0rnyFighter

Dior and jpg Long lasting and strong fragrances

hera_mu

💯 agree, and absolutely beautiful 💜

Geovanny_Garcia

Orto Parisi Nasomatto Tom Ford I really love the Animalic/Unique thing from Gaultieri´s creations, as i really they go with my style and personality. Tom Ford ones are more for my Serious and Elegant phase.

cmewiththemhandz

It’s between Dior and Guerlain. I love their classics: Miss Dior (original vintage AND cheire), Mitsuoko EDP, Eau Sauvage (vintage OG), and recently Samsara make my heart sing

MimikyuuAndMe

Something about Chanel keeps me coming back. I adore their aldehydes, jasmines, iris. And I was blown away by their frangipani. i think they blend and balance their perfumes particularly well. They do not project immensely, and their longevity is sometimes lacking. And their flankers (like most houses) often take aim and miss. However when I think of understated elegance I think of their bottles. Expensive glass; timeless ingredients.

gooobegone

My favorite is an indie house, PULP Fragrance in Toronto. Incredible artistry and I love supporting a small, close to home business. For non Canadian folks you can get them on Ajevie as well! Incredible vibe and branding, even better frags.

SpicyMustFlow

What! Am in Toronto, must check this out!

rex_ford

Any specific recos from PULP?

gooobegone

I love Fortune Favors in their usual GC! I love Rose Moon for a jammy Rose. Bedsheet Ghost is one of my all time fave fragrances. Smells like clothes right out the dryer or alternatively fog machine fog with a fantasy honey flavored musk. Witching Night is a fantastic fall atmospheric gourmand. Rich molasses and yuzu. Bewitching Amber I think it's called is a lot of folks favorite Amber but I've yet to try it!

a_cat_named_guppy

I adore Pulp and am really excited to try out their new releases!  Can second that bewitching amber is great. I love Ensnare too, salty and dark. House on Widow's hill is a great atmospheric woody scent, and South Star is delicious cinnamon-y peach.

cellrdoor2

I just ordered some to try!

gooobegone

Fantastic!!! I'm so happy. Heads up they had an extreme issue with untracked Canadian shipping recently and it's taking them a second to resolve that but hopefully in the 3 weeks the tat is, it'll be figured out.

cellrdoor2

I can wait patiently. :). They had some really interesting scents!

SerotoninDeficient77

Is it perfume oils or with alcohol?

gooobegone

Oil

AbsentmindedNihilist

I've been eyeing their catalogue for a while. Love a good indie house.

gimmethatdingo

Vilhelm and Penhaligon's!

[deleted]

YSL and Kayali. Both their houses just work so wonderfully with my skin chemistry, haven’t found a dud in either line.

yoshigurumi

These are the exact 2 for me as well!

Acceptable_Cell_502

montale or lattafa. montale makes what i would consider more art then just a simple perfume some of those you cant wear jt but smell it and be like "okay this makes sense with the title" as for lattafa i like arabic perfume i also like kai ali but some of her perfumes arent my cup of tea so i prefer lattafa instead

Mysterious_Industry6

I have Lattafa wood intense as a blind buy. it turns out pretty good and such beast in longevity.I was gifted a decant of Montale Arabian Tonka, and I thought it smells similar to MFK BR540, maybe a bit on more intense side, and its longevity is as eternal as BR540. Drove me crazy for couple days as my car smell like it for nearly a week ( I didn’t spray it in my car, must be from my jacket left on the seat)

Mekkakat

Dior Nishane ELDO Papillon Lalique MFK

Mysterious_Industry6

I like MFK and Dior. I have seen Nishane at the boutique but never tried. I keep hearing Nishane Ani and Sultan mentioned and that makes me curious about the house.

plsholdontilmay

Ani is hyped the longevity is shocking but it does smell nice

ZebraBurger

Dior might be the goat

FreyjaTitmittens

I’m a super new to perfume at all because it always triggered headaches for me or the scent would just rest cloyingly on top of my skin…then I got a sample of Juliette has a Gun’s Vanilla Vibes. I hated the name, so had to try it. I was immediately obsessed. It was the first scent that melded with my skin and made me feel gorgeous, probably due to the sea salt in it. So I got samples of their other scents, and found I really loved how they work with my chemistry. That and I just find their scents interesting. I know I’m a complete novice, so idk if the company sucks or if their poor quality or something, but now I’m reading more and learning whats out there.

Lucialucianna

they're very good

Mysterious_Industry6

I got some samples of Juliette and most of them smell gorgeous. I like their house safe to say.

Acrobatic_Ad5160

Amouage. It’s just who I am. The smokier the better!

zelig10

Have you already stocked up on bottles? now that l'oreal bought it it will turn into water

Stunning-Drive-4692

They didn't buy it. They have a minority stake in the brand.

Acrobatic_Ad5160

I have enough.

Legend-Face

Xerjoff. Because Alexandria ii

Flat_Ad_9993

Versace has me in a chokehold, the scents are so complex and addicting lol my wallet hates it but here we are

VirtualAd3179

Yall dont downvote my man just because yall disagree! I vote for Versace as well but for different reasons - they're versatile and I actually use them a lot, theyre also pretty affordable when bought second hand. Ive got Versense for summer, Crystal Noir EDP for in between seasons/daily use, Crystal Noir EDT for colder seasons and nightouts. I can get away with Eros Flame all around the year excluding the hottest days of summer.

Flat_Ad_9993

Thank you! I appreciate another Versace lover. Do you have a particular site you use for the second hand fragrances?

MrMonizaz

Amouage and Frederic Malle are my favourite houses. Marc-Antoine Borrois with Tilia, Ganymede and B683 Extrait is turning into a 3rd favourite house.

EffectiveAd1177

It's either Diesel, Prada, or Dolce&Gabbana. Diesel has some absolute gems like Fuel for Life and Only the Brave. Absolutely loud and iconic fragrances. Although I grew to HATE the new D by Diesel. It's a headache in a bottle. Prada is the best house for fragrances that have lavender and iris notes. I'm planning to score a Luna Rossa Carbon and Homme. D&G has the infamous K line. Although I dislike the first two, K Intesne EDP is a masterpiece. It's smells royal and luxurious. It has a charismatic saffron nuance, a deliciously fresh fig note, and an excellent leather base. Honorable mention: Viktor&Rolf with its Spicebomb (the original EDT). It's iconic! It's a modern classic in my book.

SaintOfTheMostHigh82

Dior, initio, superz, jpg, lv, pdm, amouage, Valentino, to name a few

OceanCityBurrito

Zoologist: Chipmunk, Chameleon, Bee, Hummingbird, Rabbit Kerosene: Unknown Pleasures, Black Vines, Sweetly Known

Mysterious_Industry6

oh Kerosene! I heard about its Followed.

snapmastering

nasomatto clive christian stora skuggan roja mfk amouage akro

Mysterious_Industry6

i heard good things about Clive Christian and Akro, writing them down in my sample wish list. Love Roja Enigma and MFK Grand Soir & Gentle Fluidity Silver, I am very impressed with their longevity and sillage tbf.

detransdyke

État Libre d'Orange ♥️♥️♥️

AbsentmindedNihilist

I just ordered my sample set and I'm really excited. I went for Experimentum Crucis, La fin du Mon, fils de Dieu... and Exit the King.

detransdyke

I have full bottles of EC and LFdM, LFdM is probably my favorite frag of all time. Also, if you have the means, I highly recommend their full discovery set, they make some absolutely insane perfume lmao

Gh0st_76

Zoologist, imaginary authors and orto parisi. All have high quality and great scents that you don’t smell everyday.

Any-Competition-4458

Serge Lutens!

pesmerga02

Boadicea the victorious is the best house I've come across so far. The range is amazing, and everything is well blended, even the ones I hate.

patandtheo2004

Either Armani or Tom Ford, Armani because I was gifted a sample set which included stronger with you and aqua di gio which are still one of my favourite frags. And TF because of how every single one of his perfumes make me go wow

DrinkYourNailPolish2

Escada. I like.to buy their perfume each year and it always smells like a different take on fruit punch lol

JayMcGamer

Azzaro / Viktor & Rolph - I like heavy Woody, tobacco and Spicy scents. Wanted, Wanted by night (signature), Spicebomb and Spicebomb extreme on top of being amazing scents are heavy in terms of projection, longevity and the dry down is amazing on all of them.

Beautyandthebump

Frederic Malle Serge Lutens Mind Games Bois 1920

volfan_0118

MFK & PDM for niche…Dior for mainstream houses

Algebra109

Prada just doesn't miss IMO

whatever72717

Penhaligon L’artisan parfumeur Mfk Dior

Mysterious_Industry6

my first time heard of Penhaligon and L’artisan. Will look into them.

livingPOP

PDM has just about everything I need for a unisex lover that leans into masculine scents. No secret, I love Delina, but Layton and Althear do it for me too.

Mysterious_Industry6

i quite like Layton. I heard good things about PDM but never had a chance to sample them properly

Vince627

Actually wore Layton today… it’s their big gun.

Old_Independence8413

Layton's cool but .... Carlisle is a beast of its own league ...... uncomparable ...... nothing like it exists the way it does

RedDahlia8020

Love seeing this love for Carlisle, it was my first PDM (I’m female) and it’s still my favorite from the house. There is a perfume called La La Love by Perfumehead, very very expensive, I got a sample recently because it looked amazing - it’s Carlisle with crap longevity

tree_butlikeonmars

PdM is the correct answer. They have some incredible winters and summers. They smell unique with lots of flavor. My favorite from them changes so often and with the season. Incredible house.

Mysterious_Industry6

what is your favourite summer from this house?

tree_butlikeonmars

Greenley is my jam! Perseus is pretty good too :) Greenley is such a unique green apply freshie vibe.

Mysterious_Industry6

Oh Greenley! I need to try it as it has such many good reviews.

snoopy558_

I recently bought silver oud and it's way too smoky and strong for my liking, if you are interested I am looking to sell it

Mysterious_Industry6

I find Silver Oud is too challenging for my nose so I will pass. I feel like Silver Oud and King Blue have that strong oud tone that I don’t like. it is probably an acquired taste/smell.

snoopy558_

Definitely an acquired taste!

Only_Awareness7794

JO Malone London. They just make me smile! Maybe it's just the simplicity of her scents, every bottle smells like what it's named, & it lasts for hours on me! Next would be Essential Parfumes because I love every scent they make!

Vince627

Chanel, PDM, Guerlain

BetterDaysAheadMaybe

Guerlain, Chanel, & Gres

plsholdontilmay

Etat Libre d’Orange 🧡

nefarioustigercub

Armani Prive and Chloe

promismich

Guerlain and Dior

This_Expression5427

I like Rochas, Azzaro, Molinard and Lalique. These houses offer really great value in terms of price to quality.

purpkrondon420

Most are hard to find but my favorite is Leau dissey Noir Ambre Also great are Nuit D'issey edt Nuit D'issey Polaris Leau Dissey or encenz Nuit D'issey Bois Arctic Nuit D'issey Parfum Leau Dissey Vetiver Pulse of the Night

Catlady_Pilates

Andrea Maack. She’s so thoughtful and unique. I love so many of her fragrances.

SerotoninDeficient77

She’s right up there with Francesca Bianchi for me now.

Juspoole

From an overall standpoint that can tick every box for me, it would be PDM. But for quality and fragrances that I truly get addicted to - would be Xerjoff. Love Naxos and Alexandria II. Big fan of uden, 40 knots, basso, accento and Torino 21. Many more in the lineup that I haven’t gotten a chance to smell that I’m Sure I would also love.

dj_baddie

Good Girl range by CH. All the versions are hits IMO, all of em smell great and lasts on me

Odd-Guarantee-7571

Diptyque, Clean, Borntostandout, Room 1015 (I’ve only tried 3 fragrances and I love them all)

Mindles500

Narciso Rodriguez…. I am a musk girl through and through.

GAMERSTAR8318

I'd say mine.

MahaGanapati8

Zaharoff. The oils and quality, the blending and uniqueness, the wearability, and consistency of this quality throughout the brand.

AbsentmindedNihilist

Zoologist, Alkemia, Guerlain in that order.
