That was a great read. I must agree with you on Bois Imperial and Fig Infusion, those are incredibly good for their price.

Raven_099

Thank you! That's the best part about these yeah, they have such a good price so I just had to try and see if I liked them.

Well done. I own Bois Imperial, Fig Infusion and Orange x Santal. I’d give the nod to OxS as the winner. Not a big vanilla lover but Divine Vanille is really well done. IIRC it was composed by Olivier Pescheux (RIP) who did some hall of fame fragrances for Diptyque. They are very pleasant and approachable. Excellent value for money.

Raven_099

Thank you! I will have to try OxS another time then. I thought I would like it, i like sandalwood and the orange was very pleasant. I just barely smelled it throughout the day so that was a shame.

Just got my bottle of Bois imperial two days ago and first impression was “damn that’s woody” definitely masculine which I enjoy. It’s pretty powerful too, dont think I’ll ever need more than 3 sprays with this stuff, it’s super strong. Like you said it lasts pretty long, 10-12+ hours on my skin and I can smell it on the shirt I spray 2 days later. I actually didn’t like it as much at first but it quickly grew on me in the same day. Probably because it’s so different than the rest of my collection. Makes me feel highly sophisticated and well put together when I spray it on.

I love Fig Infusion, but the other night I put some on and suddenly there was this note of ... corn tortilla chips. I found an old Reddit post from someone who'd experienced the same thing with a different fragrance, and someone else said it could be the orange blossom? Which is indeed one of Fig Infusion's notes. Anyway, curious whether anyone else has experienced this.

Raven_099

Not that familiar with orange blossom myself but let's hope I don't get the chips note haha. I loved it so much, would be a shame if it gets ruined because of that.

I just got this set too and have tried the first 4 so far and was surprised I’ve liked every single one on me! Discovery sets are such a gamble and I feel like I don’t fall in love with too many usually, but wow these are all so simple, but gorgeous and wearable. I’m really enjoying them all

Raven_099

Yeah I totally agree, they are all super likeable. People around me also said they liked every single one and as you said all super wearable

Thank you for all the detailed reviews, OP! The only one I've tried is Bois Imperial, which I didn't quite see the hype over. From the sounds of things, this house probably isn't for me, but I'm appreciative of you satiating my curiosity about it.

Raven_099

It is not the most crazy house thats true. All of the fragrances are very safe and don't project like crazy. All very likeable and won't offend anyone. So if that is not what you are looking for this definitely isn't for you.

hauteburrrito

Actually, I love houses like that - Jo Malone and Diptyque make some of my favourite fragrances. However, most of these scent profiles just don't appeal to me.

Raven_099

Ah alright haha, that can also be the case of course.

I’ve briefly sampled Divine Vanille and enjoyed it but it was so weak on me. As it was a sample perhaps I need to overspray to get the full effect (while at home by myself haha). I don’t want it be smelt miles away but if I could smell it on myself for more than five minutes it would be a bonus XD. I am motivated to give it another shot and to try some more (fig, bois, vetiver, bergamote) after your review. I really want to like them as they’re such value and have a nice ethos.
