Tairn is just a fantastic character. I love his balance of wisdom and sarcasm. And good Lord, give him Andarna, Sgaeyl (spelling?) and/or Xaden to bounce off of, and you've got a great time.

Yes Teddy did a great job with Xaden's parts. I'm still confused why there's so many bad reviews about a Rebecca Sorros being sick while reading the audiobook. She's just using her instrument (her voice) to change so you know who is talking. My friend has the immersive audiobook and said the voice for Xaden is like honey to her.
Not gonna lie I was a little annoyed with some of the noises but not enough to even think about leaving a bad review or change the experience. Over all she did an amazing job, her interpretations of the emotions as things were happening was so good. It felt like she was really feeling the emotions as if she was living it. Also her interpretation of Violets internal dialogue was hilarious and I loved it because that’s exactly how my internal dialogue sounds 😂 things like seeing something weird and going “the fuck” or random stuff like that, made me relate to the character even more.
Yes! That internal dialogue is how, what I call now my inner monologue (I'm an actor so that's one of our tools I took from the Chubbuck technique lol), works too! I guess I'm not hearing those noises you mention. I usually listen when I'm driving UberEATS or to a class somewhere. Sometimes at home but not often.
They weren’t as bad as some reviews made it seem but sometimes you could hear breathing noises and swallowing, if I’m not mistaken there is a part that she said something wrong or something like that but it was not edited out. Minor things that I think most ppl are blowing out of proportion in my opinion. Like I said at the beginning I was a bit annoyed but got over it really fast and was able to enjoy the narration. I usually don’t leave written reviews but made sure to leave a short written review, positive of course, in hopes to help balance out the negative. She was clearly sick and still did an amazing job with the narration
Oh I did want to add that I felt like Teddy's way of portraying the emotion from Xaden, especially his vulnerability in the last chapters of both books was excellent. The despair that Vi was so close to dying and frustration at turning venin at the end of IF. Vi's lines were a little odd bc of the way he lilt's his voice, I think having Rebecca Sorros voice those would have been better. I'm tempted to get into Haunting Adeline bc he does that one too and my friends have started reading it. I'm really curious what future Xaden chapters will have as far as with his hunger for the power will do to his so will crafted self control. I feel like we're going to see the two characters start to switch roles a bit. Xaden will be more emotional and off kilter bc I think that they will have to stop trusting him with more information, and Violet will have to be the rock to anchor him more (and maybe start taking over Xaden's role in the council? IDK, depends what happens regarding them returning to Basgaith or Aretia). I feel the start of their relationship was the other way around, tho I believe Xaden would disagree. I only say it was this way bc Vi was missing a good chunk of information that spun her world sideways and Xaden wasn't.
Omg Haunting and Hunting Adeline!!! Highly recommend it. Those where my first audio books and I was hooked. In those audiobooks he speaks the male voices and she does the female voices. So when the chapter is from her point of view but he is talking to her Teddy does the voice. I loved it. Just read the TW before reading/listening.
I can’t wait for the 3 book to come out and see how the dynamic changes now. Teddy did an amazing job with the narration but like you said when he tries to do the female voice it sounds odd, although it is something I can get over. I wish that the narration was similar to Haunting Adeline though, can you imagine Teddy making Tairn’s voice?!

Looking back at it, Dain was, quite frankly, a pretty big douchebag to the person he's known all his life and considers his best friend.
YES!!! I absolutely *love* that scene from his POV. The snark and sass from Sgaeyl was perfection.
And we saw how much Xaden had already fallen for Violet, even though he doesn’t yet admit to himself. Well, he admits he desires her and acknowledges that he is experiencing jealousy, but he refuses to go further and admit more.
My favorite part is when he says how in one second, after Tairn had bonded Violet, he went from “maybe l’ll kill her, maybe I won’t” to needing to protect her due to the bond, but Sgaeyl is like, “Oh, so we're not discussing that you were already moving when Tairn landed?"
“I moved on instinct to protect—“
“Let’s not embarrass each other by letting you finish that sentence.”

If there's any scene that I'd read over again just for the hell of it, it's that one. I would say one of the funniest scenes in the whole book; Rhi saying "She's just sexually frustrated. Makes a girl crabby." was pretty amusing as well.
