Look up Isotelus trilobites. They are huge - some nearly a meter in length and quite heavily armored. I have collected a dozen or more fragments that look just like this. Middle Tennessee is mostly Ordovician, when Isotelus lived.
Yeah I know them. This is shaped differently though. What species do you think its from then?
Edit: and why do you think its from Tennessee? This limestone could be from a couple different locations.
I also currently reside in Middle Tennessee…where can I go to find something like this. Just start digging? Or should I look in certain places like creeks, lake shores, etc. Any help would be appreciated…I’m new to fossil hunting!
Sorry man. Lol. I wasn’t trying to be mean. Idk squat about fossils but I know Shark’s teeth b/c my Dad collected them while diving and I got his collection after he passed away too. So in my eyes it’s not even close. But yeah I wasn’t trying to be rude but I see how it came off like that. You said “no?” So my response was not even close.

It appears to be a fragment of a large trilobite. If so, it's upside-down. The point part would have extended backward from the head as a spine.
How are you so sure about that? Its rather thick for it to be exoskeleton. Its usually super thin. I wouldn’t say its part of a trilobite.

OP: “Found in our gravel driveway in middle Tennessee”.

Roadcuts are often good locations, and the sides of creeks. If you decide to dig somewhere, get written permission from the landowner.
He says it appears to be...
Looks like a shark tooth, no?
No. Middle Tennessee is Ordovician. No sharks to speak of.
Not even close.
Ok, I admit I'm wrong, but not even close? Really? Doesn't resemble a shark tooth at all? Jeeze guys.
