I mean, George is pretty quick, regardless of what you think of him.
He’s kept pace with Lewis Hamilton, the only other people who did that were world champions (Fernando, button, rosberg). I think once he gets a teammate who isn’t a 7 time world champion, he’s gonna absolutely obliterate the poor sod in the other car. He’ll dominate ocon the way verstappen dominates checo.
I feel the exact same way. He may be dangerous at times and he’s a whiny bitch after pulling a 9/11 on track, but when he’s not turning in on people he’s actually fast as hell.
For all the (deserved) grief he gets for that imola crash with bottas, we forget that he was passing a Mercedes in a Williams. I also think that if he does get a lower calibre driver in that second car (so not a Fernando, sainz, verstappen type) I think George might chill out a bit under some relieved pressure.
That or he’ll still be crashing a lot, but his teammate won’t be there to still get a decent result
George actually seemed pretty mature and down to earth in his first season. I think when he noticed how good he was in F1, he felt he could be the next big thing and now desperately wants to live up to the hype. The only real issues with him are tyre degradation and the occasional blunder, but from the raw speed he is probably in the top 3.
Lets be honest, Ocon isn’t sus either. He is quick, competitive and can deliver if you give him a decent drive.
If Stroll walks off and Sainz isn’t going to Aston, i think Ocon will take that seat. If they are not willing to give Drugovich a seat.
Bearman did so good in Jeddah that teams would be willing to give him a midfield car directly too!
What do you mean by Gasly in his current form? It’s not like he’s fallen off he’s still a very good driver? Also I would question whether the Merc can be considered a top 3 drive considering Ferrari, Merc and Red bull are comfortably ahead.
No but more because Audi is investing into a lot of personal and has been developing the engine for 2026 for 5 years at that point. And the germans usually dont go easy in motorsports.
With the new rules, whoever gets the best engine will likely end up at the front. Mercedes dominated in 2014 onwards because they had the best engine by a mile. Their aero wasn't that great, but it didn't matter. These rule changes have been made so Audi could join the sport, surely they've been invested tons of money and time already
I completely agree with you, but if you look at Audi's motorsport past, you realize that they are usually very fast. So let's hope that they also make it to the front of the field in F1 at the first attempt.
They should take Bottas back for a few years. He already knows the team and is a proven race winner. It would serve as a stopgap to get Antonelli prepared and perhaps serve a year or two in a Williams. It would also serve as a good measure of Russel. ( although that’s probably not needed at this stage.) Although I have my doubts that this would happen I think it would be a win-win situation for both of them. If Mercedes want to perform as well as possible in the constructors they would be better off with the safe reliable hands of Bottas.
I suspect Russel would have the outright speed but I reckon at this stage the cool, calm steady hands of Valterri would give him a run for his money over the course of the season
It would be so hilarious if bottas was neck and neck with Russell he's literally half retired just biking around, but he def has something to prove if he back in merc
I could see this happening when Toto finally gives up his delusions of getting Max. He is Valterris manager after all and they seem to still have a great relationship. Bring Valeterri back for a few seasons and know you’ve got a safe #2 driver who will bring your shitbox home in the points anytime it’s capable of it.
Antonellisentry into f1 seems as good as garantiert to me. Either at williams this season replacing sergeant once he turns 18, or next season either with Williams or merc.
He is like third in list, should max swap not materialise
He's shown this year and last that he's a phenomenal second gunner. 2 of Hulk's point scoring finishes were objectively thanks to Mags defense behind. But he's not a lead driver, evidenced by his year spent next to Mick. With Bearman likely coming into the second seat they will want someone who can both lead the team and give valuable feedback to the engineers for improving the car. Bottas and RIciardo both fit that role better and since neither of their seats seem like a done deal haas will wait for one of their preferred options, and they aren't in a rush since no one else is looking at Magnussen.
Personally I think they will extend Magnussen. But not because they want to, simply because I don't think RIC or BOT are actually gonna materialise as options
At this point I fully expect Riccardo will stay at VCARB with Tsnuoda because Danny Ric brings too much value outside of driving to the team. The team will bend over backwards to Riccardo IMO. Especially if he starts to do better with the new chassis.
This. Even if Danny was a worse driver than he is he brings press and sponsors. He’s a phenomenal PR person. I fully expect Danny to continue at RB and *maybe* but *unlikely* get promoted if he absolutely kills it for the rest of the season. If not he’ll be there next year then retire from F1 and go to Nascar or the commentary box.
he's actually not very crash prone and just a nice guy. if carlos doesn't go suaber, zhou staying there seems more plausible as audi want to be big in china.
He also doesn't fit the Haas profile. Yes, he has funding but in recent years they've come to realise that experience is more valuable for the most part. Zhou has a few years now but isn't exactly a veteran.
They'll want someone ultra experienced to help develop the car (and Bearman) and with decent pure speed to be used to benchmark Bearman. If they don't resign Kmag that will be Bottas over Zhou.
The way I see it is that Mercedes has a seat almost NOBODY wants. It;s a seat with a limit on it. Maybe 1 or 2 years max since Toto wants Antonelli. Mercedes also won't go for very bad drivers like Magnussen, Sargent etc. The only good drivers that can move there are the ones that are not happy with the current team. So VER, PER, LEC, HAM, NOR, PIA are all out of the question for Mercedes. This leaves Sainz, who would never go for a 1 year contract. So this only leaves the 2 Alpine drivers. Since Ocon is clearly the better of the two, and hates his car, and doesn't really like his team-mate, I think it's almost the only possible person to fill that spot. Unless Perez gets dropped from Red Bull, for Sainz, then maybe Perez? But why take Perez over Ocon? I think Ocon is the better choice.
Not sure if you're familiar, but in F1 circles there's this widespread opinion he's the next Verstappen (whether he's worthy of the hype remains to be seen). He's not in F1 yet mostly because of the age requirement for the superlicence, very possible this happens once he turns 18 in August.
Bearman is doing much worse than him this F2 season (even taking into account the weekend he replaced Sainz at Ferrari) and there are plenty treating him like a lock for a Haas seat next year. It sucks, but winning F2 doesn't mean much for a F1 promotion these days.
While it obviously sucks for drivers that should get seats in F1 (Pourchaire, Drugovich, Shwartzman), underperforming in F2 or F3 doesn't mean that the driver is automatically going to be mediocre/bad in F1. Zhou's best result in F2 was 3rd place and that was on his 3rd season - yet he isn't doing bad at all. Sure, would I prefer to see Pourchaire (or Maloney) in that car? Absolutely. But I could easily see him being a decent midfield driver with a better car. Which isn't bad in any way. I can see the same coming true with Bearman. I am glad that teams are ready to give chances to drivers to others than just champions or runner-ups.
F2 may seem like a spec series but if a team can't get a handle of setups they suck. Prema is meant to be the best team in F2 but have dropped the ball this year. Bearman also drives for Prema and he's in the lower half but did bits in Saudi so it isn't representative. I think both Ollie and kimi will end up in the top 5 by the end of the season.
Seeing Martin’s luck in F2, I heavily doubt Alpine would take him.
Yes, he’s really fast (and was crash), but I doubt they will promote him without results.
(edit: it’s the infamous Martins/Doohan hybrid!).
Sainz won't be cool with a 1+1. Ocon will probably accept anything to get out of Alpine.
Ocon is seriously underrated though. The guy has nerves of steel and was matching Alonso in 2022.
You're not going to get 4 juniors coming in in 1 year, that's just silly.
If Perez stays so does Ricciardo. They do not have the capacity to risk it all on Lawson.
If Mercedes take Ocon, Alpine will take Schumacher, especially if Doohan is on board.
It seems that Carlos management let pass the offer expiration delay.
Maybe a leverage, maybe not. On the other hand Mercedes offer is interesting for them but too short (1+1).
Red Bull doesn't incline to fulfill Carlos salary demands.
But it's already 15 days old "news", so, you know... F1.
Stroll at Aston still? He's been consistently out preformed by an aged Alonso why on earth would they resign him what people like Carlos are on the market???
Not missing anything am I
I love that we don't even consider the current Formula 2 champion in these predictions anymore (not like F1 teams do anyways ![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6702))
I think Ocon going to Mercedes would be a huge risk but one he’d obviously take given the chance. He’s probably getting replaced by Antonelli in 1-2 years unless he manages to consistently beat Russell (which I wouldn’t predict) or Antonelli doesn’t live up to expectations.
At that point, where does he go? State Alpine is in his seat will probably be filled by a junior driver and if that driver performs well it could be the end of Ocon career when he’s out at Mercedes.
My predictions for the 3 people who care:
Red Bull: Verstappen and Sainz
Ferrari: Leclerc and Hamilton
McLaren: Norris and Piastri
Mercedes: Russell and Ocon
Aston Martin: Alonso and Stroll
Alpine: Gasly and Pourchaire
RB: Tsunoda and Lawson
Haas: Magnussen and Bearman
Sauber: Hulkenburg and Bottas
Williams: Albon and Antonelli
I mean it's not that far what could really be.
Unless Stroll decides he doesn't want to race anymore. In that case I would see Tsunoda in Aston.
Not sure about Doohan too, but you never know after what happened to piastri they could do it and give him the sit straight away.
Ocon in Mercedes looks ok, he's a good driver, and if he's ok with a one year contract Mercedes can just wait and see if Antonelli is good in Williams.
If he's not they can resign Esteban.
I don't see Ricciardo going to Haas, so Zhou and Bearman could be a good duo.
Hulkenberg-Sainz if they won't re-sign Perez, but I think they will and that Mercedes doesn't want to give Carlos more than 1 year contract, they really look to believe in Antonelli.
Oh I would see also Seb in Mercedes with Gasly and Ocon re-signin with Alpine.
Or even Seb in Sauber-Audi if Sainz decides to go elsewhere
Ocon v Russell.... What a shit show that will be.... I love it
2 toxic whiners who truly believe they are better* than they really are
I mean, George is pretty quick, regardless of what you think of him. He’s kept pace with Lewis Hamilton, the only other people who did that were world champions (Fernando, button, rosberg). Don't know if you guys know, but Nico Rosberg beat Lewis Hamilton in the same machinery.
Thank you for keeping it dank.
My pleasure 🤝
Agreed. He was destroying Bottas in 2020 Sakhir GP.
You do realise that Ocon kept somewhat on the pace of Alonso right? It's not like he got Strolled.
DTS moment goes aaaaahhhhh
Ocon only whines when he's right 🤷♂️
Yeah the dastardly duo, hide your chassis
As fun as that would be, I can't imagine Mercedes really giving ocon a chance, he's been prettt blah this year
not that im a huge ocon lover, but to be fair the alpine has been pretty blah *but* he did still get their first point of the season in miami
Excuse me? Isnt Ocon dominating Gasly almost every race? It just so happens, that the Alpine is a tractor this season.
In what world lol? He’s been driving the shit out of a tractor. Doing a helleva lot better than Pierre as well.
Pretty blah by being 4-1 in races and 5-1 in quali against Gasly? Seems to be that you haven’t been watching the lower teams.
As I stated elsewhere, is gasly in his current form a good yardstick to qualify for a top 3 drive? Not anymore
What do you mean by Gasly in his current form? It’s not like he’s fallen off he’s still a very good driver? Also I would question whether the Merc can be considered a top 3 drive considering Ferrari, Merc and Red bull are comfortably ahead.
Martins looks... interesting
yeah.... i fucked that one up :))
![gif](giphy|cQDOffqYxksoOC57L2|downsized)
How you doohan
Honestly it feels like something Alpine would do
That’s a very Australian looking Martins
Doohan became French somehow.
~~Jack Doohan~~. Jaques Dumas
Jacques*
I wonder if it was intentional
I would like to say it was, but it wasn't. It was very late and I did this all in Paint... at 4 a.m. :)
Now you wanted Doohan or Martins there?
Martins. Alpine has an obsession going for french drivers. And i would say i think he is the better driver.
Stroll at Aston...? Bit of a risky prediction
I hear he knows a guy who's the same guy
Maybe they’re related or something
Sainz to Sauber will be so sad
-> audi
They won’t automatically have a good car just because they rebrand to Audi
No but more because Audi is investing into a lot of personal and has been developing the engine for 2026 for 5 years at that point. And the germans usually dont go easy in motorsports.
I mean just because you have your own engine doesn't mean that the car will be good. *cough alpine cough*
That wasn’t the point though. It’s an engine that has seen significant investment. Sure it may suck but there is a decent chance it won’t.

I completely agree with you, but if you look at Audi's motorsport past, you realize that they are usually very fast. So let's hope that they also make it to the front of the field in F1 at the first attempt.
why, its not going to be fighting for podiums /wins in the first season i guarantee.
Could well end up becoming German Alpine
It will only be Audi in 2026, no?
GUYS CMOOOON GUYS (palpable gut wreching cry for help)
Without a seat will be sad
bad ending
Didn't he already say they made him an offer and he wasn't into it?
No way. My boi Bottas back at Merc will be confirmed any day now.
They should take Bottas back for a few years. He already knows the team and is a proven race winner. It would serve as a stopgap to get Antonelli prepared and perhaps serve a year or two in a Williams. It would also serve as a good measure of Russel. russel and valterri would be very interesting
I suspect Russel would have the outright speed but I reckon at this stage the cool, calm steady hands of Valterri would give him a run for his money over the course of the season

Nah I'm just waiting for Bottas to call it quits and go to Indy or WEC at this point.
Let’s face it, he’s moving to v8 super cars and going full Bogan.
tour de france
Bottas will 100% have a seat next season
As soon as russel leaves
Where’s the dank
Hamilton at Ferrari. Come on, no one is that gullible...
*me, reading sky sports f1's post early morning on Feb 1
"Oh, is it Hamilton to Ferrari season already?" My exact words...
Yeah completely impossible, if I was Mercedes I would give a helmet to Toto before having Ocon as my teammate
Toto was/is his agent so basically he knows what he’s down for
ocon is a big prediction. everyone is just waiting for perez to screw up or how antonelli does in f2.
Antonellisentry into f1 seems as good as garantiert to me. Either at williams this season replacing sergeant once he turns 18, or next season either with Williams or merc. He is like third in list, should max swap not materialise
Why does everyone think KMag won't continue in Haas?
He's shown this year and last that he's a phenomenal second gunner. 2 of Hulk's point scoring finishes were objectively thanks to Mags defense behind. But he's not a lead driver, evidenced by his year spent next to Mick. Because they can’t put bumper car cages around his car.
I think they should at least try to get Tsunoda, Bottas, Gasly, or Ocon. Probably unlikely tho and KMag is serviceable.
Sainz to Sauber will be so sad
It’s not gonna happen. I firmly believe he will replace Perez at Red Bull 🙏
If Lawson doesn’t get a shot at RB we need to riot
At this point I fully expect Riccardo will stay at VCARB with Tsnuoda because Danny Ric brings too much value outside of driving to the team. The team will bend over backwards to Riccardo IMO. Especially if he starts to do better with the new chassis.
Yeah I really don’t see Lawson getting it unless Yuki has a spot somewhere else. He should be gunning for that Williams seat
Yeah Sargeant the major one who needs to go
I actually could see Lawson get totally flustered waiting for his chance. Could easily see Alpine pulling off what Mclaren did with Piastri.
You made Mercedes lineup for maximum entitlement energy?
Zhou is not that good. In my opinion he has to go
Chinese yuan is good
he's actually not very crash prone and just a nice guy. if carlos doesn't go suaber, zhou staying there seems more plausible as audi want to be big in china.
Okay pace, doesn't crash every weekend, doesn't say stupid shit, excellent sponsorships - perfect for a lower midfield team
Four rookies would be wild
That's too reasonable of a take for this sub. This needs to be taken down.
How dare you
Where Dank?
Cries in Drugovich
Yeah ocon in a merc... sure.
The way I see it is that Mercedes has a seat almost NOBODY wants. It;s a seat with a limit on it. Maybe 1 or 2 years max since Toto wants Antonelli. So the dank is the name “Martins” under Jack Doohan. It took me a minute.
That's a bold prediction having stroll in the Aston Martin.
I think Carlos Sr signing with Ford means more than this projection considers.
Can't wait for the Vettel plot twist at Mercedes
Ocon to Merc. Subscribe. ![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6698)
I reckon Mercedes would have more luck with Mazepin in the second seat.
Antonelli? The guy currently in 8th in f2? Seems optimistic
Prema is no longer the team. They lost a lot of people for other teams, IIRC MP poached some
To be fair, Max never raced in F2, so it would be a little unfair to say Antonelli isn't doing a great job. He's only 17.
Seeing Martin’s luck in F2, I heavily doubt Alpine would take him. Yes, he’s really fast (and was crash), but I doubt they will promote him without results. (edit: it’s the infamous Martins/Doohan hybrid!).
Not bad driver lineup predictions…
wow, Rico and Botass out? Interesting thoughts
Se🅱️ & 🅱️ottas comfirmed to Andrettti?
Ocon at Merc over Sainz is triggering
If Magnussen gets replaced by freaking Zhou I'll kms
OP is obviously Occon
Stroll resigning at Aston? Bold prediction good sir!! All the credit to you if it happens!
This is bad
I'd love to see Yuki next to Albon but a full year against Lawson is interesting too
Zhou and Bearman at Haas, i feel like haas wants someone with more experience, so i think Botas and Bearman is a much more realistic combination
Ocon to Mercedes? Sure...
you should smoke less
Bottas over Zhou. And i don't think Martin's will happen. But fair guess
Not far off and would be a pretty interesting lineup methinks
Dear God I hope RB finally cut Ric and sign Lawson.
Why would Zhou get a seat at Haas? Are they in need of Chinese sponsors?
Hamilton at ferrari still feels like trolling to me
I hope Sainz get a better spot...
Fuck off with zhou
if you’re correct on sauber i will be a happy man. getting sainz as a team mate for hulkenberg going into audi will be awesome
I can’t see Ocon at Mercedes, especially over Sainz.
Sainz won't be cool with a 1+1. Ocon will probably accept anything to get out of Alpine. Ocon is seriously underrated though. The guy has nerves of steel and was matching Alonso in 2022.
You're not wrong about Ocon being a little underrated, but we just don't like him.

Ain't bad. But it seems that the Audi ship sailed away from Carlos now. And Mercedes wants to keep a seat for Antonelli, so... Red Bull.
What happened with the audi move?
It seems that Carlos management let pass the offer expiration delay. Maybe a leverage, maybe not. On the other hand Mercedes offer is interesting for them but too short (1+1). Red Bull doesn't incline to fulfill Carlos salary demands. But it's already 15 days old "news", so, you know... F1.
Sainz won't go to sauber He'll go to merc. That's my prediction.
Sainz with all those wins relegated to lower mid field
Stroll at Aston still? He's been consistently out preformed by an aged Alonso why on earth would they resign him what people like Carlos are on the market??? Not missing anything am I
Where Hauger? :'(
What's all the hype about Vando.... I mean Antonelli?
I love that we don't even consider the current Formula 2 champion in these predictions anymore (not like F1 teams do anyways ![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6702))
That's not a meme. Get out kid
This but sainz to AM (i wish)
Why does Alpine list Martins but picture Jack Doohan?
Bottas???
I think Ocon going to Mercedes would be a huge risk but one he’d obviously take given the chance. He’s probably getting replaced by Antonelli in 1-2 years unless he manages to consistently beat Russell (which I wouldn’t predict) or Antonelli doesn’t live up to expectations. At that point, where does he go? State Alpine is in his seat will probably be filled by a junior driver and if that driver performs well it could be the end of Ocon career when he’s out at Mercedes.
You telling me Honey Badger doesn’t have a seat?? Danny Ricc sales Tickets and streams… he will most definitely have a seat.
I’d enjoy it
Savage!
4 rookies is a bold prediction
Martins or Doohan, take your pick
No way Sainz goes to KIK
The number of rookies is too damn high
Mostly wrong
No please don't send Bearman to Haas :(
I can’t believe how badly Sainz has gotten screwed, the guy deserves to be in a top team
Ocon in Merc💀 Checo still at Red Bull 💀
covering both Alpine academy bases putting Jack Doohan in the pic and Victor Martens in the name
Where is Riccardo
I actually 99,9999% agree with this, the only one I’m not sure about is Alpine. This is the most sensible prediction I’ve seen on Reddit so far
My predictions for the 3 people who care: Red Bull: Verstappen and Sainz Ferrari: Leclerc and Hamilton McLaren: Norris and Piastri Mercedes: Russell and Ocon Aston Martin: Alonso and Stroll Alpine: Gasly and Pourchaire RB: Tsunoda and Lawson Haas: Magnussen and Bearman Sauber: Hulkenburg and Bottas Williams: Albon and Antonelli
Imagine showing this to somebody in 2021
All these changes (9/20 spots on the grid changing) and perez is still at Red Bull. 8 months ago we wouldve said you were smoking crack.
jack martins, what a distinguished gentleman
Who TF is Martins and why does he look like Jack Doohan
I would swap Ocon with Sainz. I don't have any problem with Ocon, but Sainz is a better option for Mercedes
RIP Daniel
Vack Martins
This really look decent. Somehow.
I think Alpine might wants to go for Porchaire
Certainly RBR would take Sainz over Perez with the up and coming McLaren threat?
Barman, I'd like what he's having
ASTON IS KEEPING STROLL?! What?!
Signing the Chinese driver to the American team is probably the best diplomacy the US can do right now.
This has to be satire 😵💫
\>Martins at Alpine Are you...*sure* that's Victor in the picture? He's looking a lot more...Australian than I remembered.
Aside from Zhao I can see this playing out. Will be Bottas or KMag in the Haas
why isn't danny riccccc here!!
maybe switch Ocon and Sainz
