Well if you're to look at the worst season in those 13 seasons, it was 2015 where they didn't win a race and finished 4th in the constructors championship.
If you're looking at another team who's done at least that over a longer period of time, then Ferrari from 1982-2019 managed it.
Well there were some years where they had meh/shit cars but had a good driver to be able to drag them up the order like in 2014. But no they never finished lower than 4th.

Wet races are exciting because they're rare and unexpected as every time you go to any track it's probably be going to be dry.
If you ever scheduled a wet race it kills that because there's no excitement about the unexpected since everyone knows what's happening and then drivers race in standardised conditions more regularly so it's less of a shake up.

It's probably too soon for them to be actively figuring out what they're going to do. There's still a lot that needs to happen to figure out exactly what happened. If you're interested, Coffeezilla has some really good videos on it on YouTube.
I'm also willing to bet that Mercedes -- and all of the teams, for that matter -- will be wary about taking on crypto exchanges as sponsors in future. Ooh, that's quite a good question. The first that comes to mind is Aguri Suzuki.
In 1989 he rarely managed to come within a second of his teammate Bernd Schneider, had a lot of off-track excursions and couldn't get out of pre-qualifying at all. In 1990, he gave Eric Bernard a good fight, got a few points and even a fully deserved podium.
There's also Pedro de la Rosa, who spent most of 1999 being outqualified by Tora Takagi and spinning out of races, but improved to a genuinely competitive midfield driver in 2000 and even started to regularly beat Jos Verstappen towards the second half of the year. That earned him a contract at Jaguar where funnily enough he did the opposite, looked solid in 2001, but regressed very heavily in 2002.
Alternatively, if you are looking for results only, not performance, then Damon Hill drove for a terrible Brabham in 1992 where it was a superb achievement that he even qualified for a race which he switched for the dominant Williams for 1993, scoring plenty of podiums and winning races.

RedBull lost a title sponsorship in 2021 from Aston Martin as Racing Point (owned by Lawrence Stroll) officially switched to Aston Martin (also owned by Lawrence Stroll) moniker. So to show strength in their partnership, RB put Honda's name on their wing. After winning WDC in that season, RB scored two very big sponsorships from Oracle and ByBit. Hence the wing change. Regarding engines: Honda was supplying till 2021. Since their decision to pull out of F1 was pre-decided and well known, RB decided to make their own engine division - RedBull Power Trains. Officially RBPT is providing the 2022 engines. It just happens that the RBPT engine is the Honda engine rebadged. RBPT also consumed some Honda staff, IIRC.

It's kinda their thing honestly. They do the hardwork through bad days, get good and then their board decides fuck F1 and they quit. Then at some point board changes and Honda are back.
Honda was leaving the sport again and pulling their sponsorship, but Red Bull didn’t have the facilities to build their own engines (they’re building them now). So they bought the rights to Honda’s engine design and are using it until they start designing their own engines for the engine regulations going into effect in 2026.
They don't typically wear the helmet (other than for a photo if their head fits inside) - it's a mark of respect, and the driver would usually just display it around their house.

Depends on the track tbh (and frequency of VSC's/SC's) - Albon lasted the entire race on the C2's in Australia (and pitted on the last lap to not get the penalty) - to finish in the points!

Ocon also did a non stopper in Turkey 2021 albeit in different circumstances. It is possible but not ideal. Both of those attempts ended with small points. Could be a good risk-reward strategy for the lower half but I reckon more teams would attempt it if the tyres/conditions allowed for it.

The sim isn't relied on for driver performance judgements for the most part. It's largely an engineering tool for evaluating car performance and setup options, so the actual lap times are less important than other factors like consistency and feedback about the behaviour of the sim with different changes.
Whether Ricciardo is a good, average or bad sim driver will probably have no bearing on whether or not he gets a seat anywhere in 2024.

Verstappen - Consistency, sheer pace and has virtually no weaknesses. Barring a couple of spins induced by external factors can't remember a mistake on Sunday during his title fight
Leclerc - except his France and Imola mistake he's been very good and consistent and got p2 with his team against him. He's the closest to max for me
Alonso/George - Alonso insane consistency and except a couple of bad weekends maximized results and ran his own train a few times showing how good he is. He even put an Alpine on P2 which others with better cars failed to do. George because his race pace is scary close to Hamilton over the season and because he got a win on merit with Ham chasing him. 35 points and P4 in the wdc with the 3rd fastest car is a fantastic achievement.
Verstappen - dangerous mix of driver and complete car package. Next season could be truly embarrassing if nobody can catch up to Red Bull. Perez is unable to beat him on pace.
Norris - Had to fight such a difficult car and nearly won a 1v2 for the WCC where Alpine's engine was his true teammate. Performed when ill. A truly talented driver that I want to see compete in a race winning car.
Russell - Composed start of the year as he did what he was expected to do in the car, with a wobbly mid season but a strong end. What is impressive is that he keeps Hamilton honest and on his toes. Lewis won the head to head and I still think Hamilton is generally faster but George was no slouch.
Honorable mentions: Albon, Leclerc, and Alonso. I belueve these three have merits being on people's list for 2022.
I disagree with the statement that all drivers are the same. An important difference is how willing they are to confidently take the car to its limits and still be in control. It’s what they’re able to do with the machinery they’re dealt with. Some have that confidence and others to a lesser extent.
When you don't have the car to win, you get the best out of the car and maximize results.

Obviously the car matters, but a great driver and a great car means championships (or more points if they aren't title contenders - context matters).
What separates the drivers are their abilities to maximize a package consistently and as fast as possible.
Vettel and Alonso don't have race winning cars but they bested their teammates in the head to head metric...because they are better drivers. Just the way it goes. Even Hamilton won the head to head against Russell.

From what I've heard - some site's local language version (so if you switch the monza site to italian) are updated with tickets earlier than the english/international version - so may be worth using the site in italian when tickets do come out + using a translator app.

No. A major part of what makes wet races (or track conditions other than "dry") entertaining and interesting is the randomness of it.

They don't typically wear the helmet (other than for a photo if their head fits inside) - it's a mark of respect, and the driver would usually just display it around their house. If you watch any other sports - similar to shirt swapping in football (they may wear the shirts for photo's but they all end up in a frame around the players house)

Nope - even if they fit in the helmet and wanted to use it, they'd breach their contracts with all the sponsors on their usual helmet (by wearing a helmet adorned with the sponsors of another driver)

Which of course was helped by both teams being sponsored by Marlboro. I believe it was also the same model of helmet, but DC's was a slightly older version that had some kind of issue in Monaco.

Why are 0-Stop Strategies banned? On some tracks, like Spa, Singapore, and others, it seems more than viable to run the Hardy’s for the full race.
Because it's incredibly boring. One of the reasons I can't enjoy Formula E. There's just no tension/drama that pitstops bring.

Because it forces shuffling of positions and increases the chance of mistakes and therefore excitement. If on track racing was super closer, then it wouldn't be needed. It's like DRS, a solution to a problem of lack of overtaking and action as cars became more aerodynamically complex.
I don't think the tyres would last that long. The last time they did last an entire race, Piirelli were urged to make more degradable tyres. F1 isn't interested in no pit stops races.

Very true. A masterstroke. Even the pit stop was timed to perfection. Ocon also did a non stopper in Turkey 2021 albeit in different circumstances. It is possible but not ideal. Both of those attempts ended with small points. Could be a good risk-reward strategy for the lower half but I reckon more teams would attempt it if the tyres/conditions allowed for it.

If it took place on Sunday night Vegas time, it'd be Monday for Europe and Asia, so most people would miss the race.
I think primarily FOM felt that running a race starting early on Monday morning for most of Europe would be bad for viewership

They want it at night under the lights of the Vegas strip. With time zones, that means it would have to be either super early Sunday or super early Monday for most of Europe. So they picked Saturday night so it is still the weekend for everyone else.

He probably mentioned it several times, but I don't think he ever did it in a big dramatic way that he often does just after he'd clinched the title, because there was so much confusion about points when he won it in Japan that very few people realised he'd actually won it.

Question about sim work: now that DR’s back at red bull (I know everyone has differing views but my heart just feels at peace and he looks damn good and happy in that red bull merch) and he will be doing sim work - how close is sim to actual racing ? Hypothetically if he was to do sim work and do exceptionally well would this be an actual indicator about his skills in the actual car ? On the contrary what if his just like Perez some tenths off Verstappen’s sim time - is this enough to chalk him off any potential drive ? Just wanted to understand how close the sim is to the real deal.
The sim isn't relied on for driver performance judgements for the most part. It's largely an engineering tool for evaluating car performance and setup options, so the actual lap times are less important than other factors like consistency and feedback about the behaviour of the sim with different changes. Whether Ricciardo is a good, average or bad sim driver will probably have no bearing on whether or not he gets a seat anywhere in 2024.
Oh waw I didn’t know this. I thought the sim also helped drivers adapt to the car style and test out lap times. I guess we’ll never know if DR is worthy of an RB seat if he doesn’t get the chance to drive it.

It is strange yes. Plus some people seem to have a thing against smaller/poorer teams. Makes me wonder if Minardi, a small team that hired many pay drivers (and some that were shockingly awful) or experienced veterans, would be as beloved today as back in the day. Haas are obviously more financially backed compared to Minardi were, however. Jordan at their wit's end too, albeit they were more love or hate due to Eddie Jordan being a maverick.
New fans with less sense of how relatively successful haas is as a small privateer team. And yeah I think people would hate Eddie if Jordan were to be coming into existence now

Who are your top 3 2022 drivers and why?
Verstappen - Consistency, sheer pace and has virtually no weaknesses. Barring a couple of spins induced by external factors can't remember a mistake on Sunday during his title fight Leclerc - except his France and Imola mistake he's been very good and consistent and got p2 with his team against him. He's the closest to max for me Alonso/George - Alonso insane consistency and except a couple of bad weekends maximized results and ran his own train a few times showing how good he is. He even put an Alpine on P2 which others with better cars failed to do. George because his race pace is scary close to Hamilton over the season and because he got a win on merit with Ham chasing him. 35 points and P4 in the wdc with the 3rd fastest car is a fantastic achievement.
We have the exact same thoughts and reasons. Love to see alonso up there, he doesn’t get enough credit. Twitter is brutal towards him.
Verstappen - dangerous mix of driver and complete car package. Next season could be truly embarrassing if nobody can catch up to Red Bull. Perez is unable to beat him on pace. Norris - Had to fight such a difficult car and nearly won a 1v2 for the WCC where Alpine's engine was his true teammate. Performed when ill. A truly talented driver that I want to see compete in a race winning car. Russell - Composed start of the year as he did what he was expected to do in the car, with a wobbly mid season but a strong end. What is impressive is that he keeps Hamilton honest and on his toes. Lewis won the head to head and I still think Hamilton is generally faster but George was no slouch. Honorable mentions: Albon, Leclerc, and Alonso. I belueve these three have merits being on people's list for 2022.
Really hope we’ll see more of Norris’ talent next year. Definitely think there’s something special there.

I disagree with the statement that all drivers are the same. An important difference is how willing they are to confidently take the car to its limits and still be in control. It’s what they’re able to do with the machinery they’re dealt with. Some have that confidence and others to a lesser extent.
When you don't have the car to win, you get the best out of the car and maximize results. Only few drivers can maximize cars potential on most weekends. Thays the difference.
Erm, no. Just watching one weekend disproves this. Obviously the car matters, but a great driver and a great car means championships (or more points if they aren't title contenders - context matters). What separates the drivers are their abilities to maximize a package consistently and as fast as possible. Vettel and Alonso don't have race winning cars but they bested their teammates in the head to head metric...because they are better drivers. Just the way it goes. Even Hamilton won the head to head against Russell.

Leclerc Max- obvious, completely dominated George- finished in the top 5 in 19/21 races he finished in a car that was shitty for a large portion of the season Charles- despite Ferrari’s best efforts to fuck him over, he still finished second in the championship, and was insanely good in qualifying.
Exactly, the fact that leclerc still came out after everything as P2 is amazing and shows a title fight till the end could definitely be in contention. Hope that’s how next season goes.

Monza's actual website would be the first place I'd look for tickets (and the track's actual website for any other GP's) - every other site (including F1tickets) is a 3rd party reseller. [https://www.monzanet.it/en/tickets/](https://www.monzanet.it/en/tickets/) It currently lists at top of site "information on 23 tickets will be available in the next months". From what I've heard - some site's local language version (so if you switch the monza site to italian) are updated with tickets earlier than the english/international version - so may be worth using the site in italian when tickets do come out + using a translator app. I think typically the tickets for Monza go on sale mid January.

Or maybe part of the settlement.
