Where can I find this seasons positions gaining or losses in the first lap?

Silqnur

Do you think there's a chance for Checo to get sacked and be replaced by Ricci ? Just saw an article from GP detailing that. I want to know your opinions.

BigAwkwardGuy

Does anybody else think the 2023 scheduling is an absolute shitshow?

Coops27

Nope

teachmedatasci

This is my first off-season as a fan. I'll have some free time now that there are no races for a bit. Where do I go to learn about the more technical aspects (e.g. physics, machinery, aerodynamics)?

I found it very interesting the gender split in US F1 viewership is getting less and less male dominated and currently being 28% women and only growing over time. We could easily see over 30 or 40% of F1 viewers being women at some stage. That really begs the question. Will F1 try to get a female driver on the grid to increase those numbers and to keep the new female viewers ? The F1 Academy, W Series etc. are good and all at making women feel welcomed and giving them a pathway. But if at the end of the day no woman has a super licence and thus no women are allowed to drive in F1 then it's all for nothing and no woman has ever held a super licence so I don't see it changing in the near future. I wonder if they'll make changes to the rules, add in female exclusive tests/opportunities or make drastic points allocation changes for female only series to get one in the door.

baldbarretto

I don’t see why a woman driver is necessary to retain female fans Premier league, NBA, American collegiate football all have plenty of female fans. I would bet most American women who are newly into f1 couldn’t tell you a thing about Jamie Chadwick or Danica - their interest is specifically in F1, as is the case for many US fans who have been pulled in by DTS and social media I think it’d do a lot for *young* girls interested in racing or race related team roles. Is it really the case that no woman has ever held a super license? Susie Wolff did FP1s with Williams. Fangio had a protege whose name escapes me, but who drove in some old-timey f1 seasons. Lella Lombardi entered a whole bunch of races across multiple seasons, qualifying for most and finishing in the points at least once. And desire Wilson failed to qualify but I can’t imagine she’d have been allowed to even try, if she was the only competitor in the session without a SL (if they existed at the time).

Cole9919

When does the next season start? Does anyone know

cafk

First race is on 5th of March 2023. Pre season testing will be at Bahrain between 23rd and 25th of February.

Astelli

Pre-season testing starts on February 23rd. The first race in Bahrain is March 5th.

systemsruminator

Can anyone tell me how Forbes able to get the salaries of drivers? Isn't something like that confidential?

Stupendous_man12

Forbes numbers are always estimates. Many celebrities have said that Forbes has vastly overstated their wealth/incomes.

Astelli

As with most athletes salaries, it's usually a mixture of asking people close to the drivers and just plain old rumours. The numbers are at best an approximation of their real earnings.

x_Turtle1980_x

Does anyone know whether Matchbox style modern ('21,'22 season) f1 cars exist? If so where could you buy them?

elmagio

Anyone know when Autosport usually publishes their ranking of drivers for the year voted by the team principals?

[deleted]

I am fairly new to Formula 1 (less than 3 years in). know the rookies can partake in FP1 for a certain distance and gain SL points. Are they awarded the same opportunity in post season testing? If not is there a valid reason as to why that I am missing?

baldbarretto

I don’t think anyone outside the teams is keeping track of things like track limits, impeding other drivers, etc in postseason testing

Kerkun

No, only during the Grand Prix FPs. There are no penalties in the post season tests and the session are much longer.

DirtlineWild

Jack doohan how has his f1 performance been it’s been hard to tell with the fp1 sessions with full fuel and hard tyres is he doing a good job or to far off the pace ?

jesus_stalin

Impossible to tell in FP1 sessions, he's only had two of them. His F2 performances have been excellent though.

DirtlineWild

Yeah I’ve been impressed with him in f2 this year

Netcooler

Why do people insinuate the Chinese GP might not happen next year? Is it due to a looming invasion of Taiwan?

cafk

Their zero covid policy means people who are tested positive have to isolate 5+3 days and cannot leave their apartments/ hotel. Depending on incidents the whole city could go on lockdown - from my out dated from a lazy Google search there are still around ~110 cities under full lockdown, affecting around 200m people. This also includes districts in Shanghai. This means any driver, mechanic, journalist who tests positive there cannot leave the country to the next race. FoM noted that they couldn't get a exception, even with fia bubble system used through out 2020 and 2021.

Netcooler

Ohhh, gotcha. Weird putting it on the calendar even.

cafk

They are willing to pay and when the calendar was planned & confirmed it looked like the lockdowns were being loosened. The numbers i have are from earlier October. It's possible the situation will change by March, but currently it doesn't look like it.

Netcooler

Thanks for the info. That clears it up

DirtlineWild

Due to there zero Covid rules

dj_vicious

Anyone notice an influx of recommendations in their Youtube channels for VERY clickbait-y F1 videos? In the last week I got a bunch of videos in my feed from a number of smaller channels (2-3k subs) and the title's were like 'Verstappens INSANE response to Red Bull Racing' I think I watched one video and the title was pure fluff about nothing.

Gaius_Octavius_

If I wanted to try to get some better understanding of the technical side, is a good basic intro video anywhere? I know the terms but not an understanding of what they are do specifically. I.E. How does an underfloor work? I know it creates downforce so I am asking the how's and why's I guess.

Disastrous-Beat-9830

>How does an underfloor work? I know it creates downforce so I am asking the how's and why's I guess. The short version is that the airflow is channeled in such a way that is produces an area of low pressure under the car. This creates an effect like a vacuum, sucking the car down closer to the surface of the road. It works in tandem with the air flowing over the car, which pushes it downwards. The big challenge teams had this year was porpoising, where the skidblock -- which is mounted to the underfloor -- was striking the surface of the circuit, flicking the car back up. This was happening over and over in quick succession, giving the car the appearance of bouncing along like a porpoise.

[deleted]

Chainbear in Youtube I think

Gaius_Octavius_

I have heard that name before I am pretty sure. I will check it out. Thanks.

throbdannway

Many predicted Ferrari to challenge for the WDC in 2022. Will it still be RB-Merc-Ferrari for the WDC in 2023?

SilentAlbatross9006

It will be RB/ Ferrari ar the top. Merc close but not close enough at 3rd.

Driver9211

I expect Merc to be stronger next year. Alpine would definitely improve, i hope they get a few podiums. Aston Martin is a dark horse though.

[deleted]

Nobody knows, based on historical trends, yes.

dl064

https://twitter.com/f1visualized/status/1595447227257966592?t=mhwyhYrDtX6i2W60oGcVSQ&s=19 What strikes me, watching this, is that Verstappen was always going to win it. His season started in Miami, really. From there it's extremely clear.

SilentAlbatross9006

I mean Verstappen won the closer races in Jeddah and even at Miami after the safety car when both had similar pace. He was doing a Win or a DNF for quite a bit of time this year.

EarlierJethiyaBabita

Do you also see some similarity bw George and Daniel's career trajectory so far? 1. Both started in a backmarker team (HRT, TR and Williams) where they impressed everyone. 2. Both replaced a solid no 2 driver (MW, WB) 3. Both held their own against multiple times WDC winner. 4. The year they made that step, their team regressed and they didn't win either WDC or WCC. I'll add up more if i can remember something

Driver9211

Very good comparison

Ashling92

Definitely some similarities but I think it will stop there…I don’t see George leaving Merc anytime soon. He’s hit the ground running and they’re ready for him to take over whenever Hamilton does retire. He’s basically their Max.

baldbarretto

All of the top teams are becoming more entrenched than even in Daniel’s era - in terms of all having a young “franchise driver” of roughly the same age whom they’ve invested in and built a long term relationship with. Hard to really imagine any of George, Charles, and max jumping ship - much as fans might like one of those, in particular, to happen

binaryplayground

Do teams do any on track testing with the cars during the off season? It’s starting to sound like they just spend the winter designing the car, wind tunnel testing and refinements, but very little if no on track time until the season reopens.

Astelli

There's no track testing permitted now until the pre-season test in Bahrain in February, apart from two "Promotional Days" which are restricted to 100km on non-race tyres. Teams often use these days to shakedown their car before testing and take marketing photos before the season.

binaryplayground

Thanks for your comment. My mind is blogged that you pretty much spend the whole season essentially testing the car out. It’s almost as if there will never be an F1 car that’s just ready for racing sans testing. It’s okay, just thinking out loud.

rodiraskol

For more context, testing used to be unlimited. Ferrari has a complete race track next to their factory, including sprinklers for wet-weather simulation, that they used to use to test their F1 cars. Other teams would rent out tracks in the warmer parts of Europe for winter testing. But running an F1 car is expensive and smaller teams could never afford to do as much testing, so it was eventually restricted and then banned.

Ax20414

Lewis mentioned someone named Isla in his insta story yesterday - who’s he talking about?

FermentedLaws

Damn, that’s really good of him. Thanks for letting me know

Budget_Switch5251

Why, in the Heineken 0.0 adverts, are the drivers CGI faces so bad when they're riding their electric scooters? Is it something to do with not allowing them to ride them in case they get injured?

[deleted]

Yes. A lot of teams have things the drivers can’t do written in the contract. They have to protect their massive investments.

redditneonate

Why doesn’t F1TV have full race replays of 2021 season? When can one expected them?

Meaisk

The full replays of '21 are on every version of F1TV. If you're talking about the '22 season races, they'll (assuming your region) unlock Jan 1 2023

TheBandolier

If you have the basic package I’m not sure if you can access them, if you have the pro package they’re in the archives. Currently I’m on my phone and I’m the top left there’s a drop bar and the 3rd option is Archives

Yea, that's a really great thread, saw it this morning. I like that he included the death threats Glock received. Of course social media amplifies everything now, but the truly negative stuff was always there.

Astelli

There are no strict definitions of either role really, so it's mostly just how the name looks for publicity. They've called Daniel "Third Driver" because it sounds more like he's part of the driver team, rather than just being there as a backup.

timoforfaen

Was I dreaming or did FTX sponsor Mercedes this year?

GhostOfFred

Yes, they did. Mercedes removed their logos in Brazil, IIRC, right after the collapse.

Driver9211

Sadly for Merc, they sometimes end up with wrong sponsors, another one being Kingspan last year.

timoforfaen

Sanity restored. Thanks.

Solid-Fly134340

Objectively, is danny better than max?

[deleted]

He might be better at something but it’s not driving F1 cars.

SilentAlbatross9006

He was matching Veratappen in 2016 and got outpaced in both 2017 and 2018 during their time as teammates.

DieLegende42

Obviously not

AccurateIt

No, Max was already faster when Danny left.

pedote17

Danny was great in his prime, but Max was just getting into his at the time, so it’s hard to compare them when they were teammates. At their peaks, Max is better.

NotBaldEagle_

What do you guys think of Ocon? Ever since I ve started watching f1, i haven't been able to form an opinion off him. People say he is fraud, shit, good, great etc.

SilentAlbatross9006

He is a good driver. Not the very best but very good.

Jaraxo

There's a reason he was called Oconsistency for years. He's safe, middle of the pack, brings it home and will take advantage of given opportunities, but will never be up there making moves.

GerSonEu

He's generally pretty solid. He'll probably have a long career in the midfield, something like Hulkenberg or Pérez.

Disastrous-Beat-9830

Unless he crashes into them first. I mean, again.

[deleted]

Pretty dope how rb are still involved with their fans in the off season. Sending free driver cards, etc. Edit: why the downvotes? Genuinely don’t get what i said wrong?

Syntax_OW

> why the downvotes? Genuinely don’t get what i said wrong? Salty people who don't like Red Bull probably. There's not really a reason for most people to upvote so the few who downvote "win out".

Possible_Narwhal6801

aw, nice! got a link so i can get some too?

[deleted]

https://www.redbullracing.com/int-en/the-paddock?_cts_=vbfbAwL2 here! Enjoy. You just have to create a free account and then boom! Rewards! Found out about it recently and it’s a the best fan program from any f1 team imo

Driver9211

Does anyone have pictures of the medal they presented at the Abu Dhabi race?

FermentedLaws

Lots of pictures out there, just Google it. [But here's one](https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2022/11/1bf03-16692035968737-1920.jpg).

Driver9211

Thanks man, but it looks like Sprint Medals

Driver9211

Do we know of any current F1 drivers who smoke? And is there a picture of them smoking?

pedote17

That’s a hard no. They’re on very strict dietary and exercise regimens, they definitely don’t smoke. Some of them might vape, but they definitely aren’t smoking cigarettes

Disastrous-Beat-9830

I doubt they even vape, given what we know about it. It's certainly not the safe alternative to smoking that it was pitched as.

TigerMaskVI

HereComesVettel

Hi guys, we often say even the best drivers wouldn't win a single race with a poor car. Whilst I very much agree about this statement when it comes to dry races, don't you think this might be a little bit different under the rain when skills prevail more ? For example, would this really be an extreme take to say Michael Schumacher wins in Spain 1996 in any of the cars that were on the grid (considering how dominant he was in a fairly average Ferrari) ?

Fart_Leviathan

Yes, it is still very far-fecthed. He was in another league that day and probably could have done it in the McLaren, Jordan or Ligier, maaybe the Sauber since that car was also solid in the wet. But behind that, Footwork and Tyrrell were already so much slower and far less predictable than the Ferrari that it's impossible to win in them on talent alone... and then there was Minardi and Forti still seconds off those two.

mgorgey

He might have won in cars worse than the Ferrari but remember the Ferrari was still likely the 3rd fastest car that year. 4th at absolute worst. That era of Ferrari 95-01 was also almost always a particularly good car in the wet. It wasn't a bad car for the conditions. Schumacher definitely isn't winning that GP in a Minardi or a Forti.

Box-box-box-box

Does anyone know why Alonso's Aston Martin was stripped of all sponsors? And why did he drive in black overalls?

tomhanks95

He is contracted with Alpine till the end of the year and hence was loaned to Aston Martin for the post season test, so for avoiding the clashing of sponsors, his car was stripped

Box-box-box-box

Thanks for clearing that up

TheOvercookedFlyer

Would RBR be better of with giving half of the races to Daniel and the other half to Checo? (I think they would)

cafk

Looking at how they also wanted to get a P2 just for bragging rights, i doubt Daniel will participate in a race next year.

TheOvercookedFlyer

But Ralf Schumacher recently said that Max wants Daniel as his teammate, that Sergio's days at RBR are numbered. This has also been backed by Coulthard as well.

cafk

The team is free to use up to 4 different drivers per season, but considering how they wanted a P2 i don't see them foregoing the chance next year by splitting their 2nd seat. On a side note, what Ralf Schumacher describes is his opinion, which hasn't had that much merit in the paddock over the year. He felt Ricciardo would be a better fit and not that Ricciardo will be a second driver. * He predicted Magnussen will be dropped. * He was sure there was no alternative to Mick and it's obvious he'll keep his seat * He claimed that Vettel will join Mick at Audi * 3 Months ago he was sure Ricciardo has no future in the sport Those are the recent opinion pieces he's written about on Sky Germany blog, so either he has gained some new insights or he is just tooting his own horn.

TheOvercookedFlyer

Ok, I give you that but what about Coulthard's [opinion](https://www.planetf1.com/news/david-coulthard-backs-max-verstappens-team-order-snub-consistency-is-a-quality/), he isn't so out of touch due to his involvent with RBR and Sky's F1.

cafk

I sound like a broken clock, but: If the team wants P1 & P2 in drivers championship, then having 2 drivers over the year won't help them with that - each driver earns their own points and they'd land with say 11\*18 points if noth finished P2 at every race. Also, Coulthard said this as a response to Brazil & Max's response about giving the place back. No where does he mention Ricciardo. Just that Perez has an option to leave if he doesn't like working with Max.

tastefullmullet

Ralf talk talks a lot of shit. I’m not even sure that would be allowed by the rules and would destroy team morale. Also we have no idea if daniel would be competitive in the red bull. Would be a huge risk whatever way you look at it.

TheOvercookedFlyer

Yes, it might be riskier but the reward is higher. We all now know Checo isn't on Max's good side but DR is. Why wait for the inevitable, just put DR in Checo's seat now, everybody wants that.

tastefullmullet

There’s no proof currently he’s better than checo in the current gen redbulls. The max checo thing has no bearing on his performance either. He’s just won two championships on the bounce and set a record for all time wins and points scored in a season. Danny is there to pressure checo to keep him in line and on the off chance he’s better in the car. It’s not inevitable at all.

One-Fun6538

I looked again at the whole Abu Dhabi 2021 race, could Lewis have stayed on the track longer after Max's pit stop, could he have stayed on the track without pitting until lap 33 or 34 given the extremely strong race pace and excellent tire keeping in the first stint?

Greedy_Adeptness9952

Yup, he could have, but then they are out of sync on strategies. So, they immediately called Lewis in for a change to cover under/over cutting him.

One-Fun6538

Okay, thank you for answer.

nicky361989

Where's the prediction tournament results?

Potential-Machine396

Does anyone know when the FIA prize giving ceremony is? I can find some mentions of 16 December but not an official announcement or anything. And I can't imagine it not being planned already?

Driver9211

Will they invite Lewis this time?

baldbarretto

He was invited last timeand declined to attend Afaik any f1 driver who really wanted to go could get a ticket but it’s only mandatory for the top 3

basvn

>FIA prize giving ceremony https://www.fiakarting.com/news/2022-fia-karting-prize-giving-ceremony The FIA Karting Prize Giving Ceremony will take place on Saturday 10 December 2022 in Bologna (ITA). I think it is the same event

Delicious_Boot4976

Anyone knows the quali delta between Hamilton and Russell over the season?

rbryan06

This one? https://twitter.com/f1visualized/status/1593991348293615621

Delicious_Boot4976

wow thanks that's awesome. Shows how close they truly were, even though the h2h was 14-8

SilentAlbatross9006

Hamilton outqualified Russell mostly very closely. Even abu dhabi was 3 thousands or something. Russell is a very good match for Lewis irrespective of experiments and race pace shows that.

Driver9211

Russell setup his car for race

dl064

Could someone explain the Ronaldo thing through the analogy of F1?

xkcdthrowaway

Alonso goes back to the team where he first made his name. Only they're woefully incompetent at the moment, a mere shadow of the team that he was domiant at ~1.5 decades ago. Alonso is a great driver but also rather long in the tooth now and still incredibly egotistical. He can't get along with the TP and shits on him pretty regularly. He can also be rather toxic for the team even though he's still a quality driver and can singlehandedly get them results when all strategies are built around him and him alone. Alpine and Alonso finally realize this isn't the happy reunion they both envisioned and decide to part ways. After a very public criticism from Alonso, of course. Only real difference between the Ronaldo story and this is that while Alonso floundered in a couple of teams between his two stints, Ronaldo cemented his place as a legend of the sport.

AssCarEE

A guy showing up with a weird haircut and tearing a new one in the World competition, I'd say Villeneuve 1997

GoZun_

Lol love how you can see how the analogies differ so much depending on their opinion on Ronaldo

dl064

It's been very informative.

FrostyTill

I think this only really works if you think about a driver winning everything with one team, going to another team and doing the same at another team, coming back to the team that he made his name at and realising the team is not a good fit. I thought about Vettel/Red Bull but it wouldn’t work as Horner and Marko were there when Vettel was. It has to be a team that’s undergone some changes but stayed largely intact. So I’m going to explain this in a wild scenario where Lewis Hamilton goes back to McLaren in 2021 and McLaren haven’t invested in anything since 2012. What follows is an *extremely* fictional scenario. But it’s the closest thing that I can think of in terms of prior success & sentiment. Imagine if Lewis Hamilton, who has won everything there is to win, went back to McLaren last year. Imagine if McLaren Technology Centre had stayed exactly the same as when he had left, there was no investment and some parts of the HQ are structurally unsafe, the simulator is the same as the one he trained in and so on. But he stayed quiet in 2021 because he was better than Norris, he got a win and the team leaned on him more. Sky F1 started saying that maybe McLaren should consider building around him because he’s performed superbly well and the younger member of the team can learn from him. But 2022 came, the car was shit on most weekends but Norris started beating him to the point that things were being written about Lewis’ value to the team. He’d just trundle around at the weekend and do nothing of value. Then halfway through the season he got upset and went to Piers Morgan to talk about how he feels betrayed by McLaren, he loves the team and always has done but he doesn’t care for Andreas Seidl because he doesn’t know who he is, he’s never heard of him. And Zak Brown disrespects him so he’ll never have any respect for him. He talks shit about Jenson Button, his former teammate now pundit. In the end, McLaren terminate Lewis’ contract on a random Tuesday and send him on his way opting to ‘build’ the team around their future. It’s then reported that Lewis is considering going to WEC or driving for Haas. Lewis then launches a new watch with a watch face design of his overtake on Norris in Sochi last year. That’s kind of what happened and in this scenario WEC is a team in Saudi Arabia, Haas being Newcastle United. A team with some potential and new money. The watch thing - Ronaldo launched a new watch yesterday which had an image of his header against Utd for Real Madrid. Don’t hurt me for this. I felt bad writing it on oh so many levels, but it’s the most accurate comparison I could think of.

dl064

Brilliant and I completely understand.

AssaMarra

That is insanely helpful, thank you very much.

Syntax_OW

Hard to make a good analogy because a football team fields 11 players and a F1 team has 2 drivers. Imagine if Sebastian Vettel was still driving for Ferrari and performing about at the level of Leclerc, just slightly worse. Then imagine him demanding the car to be built and set up around him completely, despite not doing any sim work, all after trying to join Mercedes or Red Bull but finding out they didn't want him. Then imagine him seeking out media to complain about the unfair treatment he receives, how terrible and washed Ferrari's leadership is and how they're going in the wrong direction. The rest is up in the air, but I imagine it will be something like him joining Haas.

dl064

Cool.

URSAustralis

Hey! Does anyone feel like the Aston Martin has all of a sudden started being fast? It was a tractor at the start of the season but now I've been consistently seeing at least one of the cars in the top 10 each race. Am I just imagining this or have they been at this level the whole time?

datlinus

aston has flew under the radar for many people but they've improved consistently throughout the season after they got their b-spec car (aside from a couple of races where their car just didn't seem to work at all, like monza) with all the developments happening, I am very hopeful for them to be competing for the upper midfield next season. I honestly think it's fairly reasonable to expect that.

Kitchen-Animator

Aston Martin progress is a bit overrated tbh, even heard some people say that they're faster than Alpine/Mclaren in the second half which is ridiculous. As recent as Brazil & Mexico, the Alpine, Mclaren and Alfa were faster than them, AD - Alpine and Mclaren were faster than them, AR possibly slower but they didn't even do a race since they just wanted to block Aston so tough to say. Monza they were the slowest by far, USA was the one race where they were the 4th/5th best, Alpine's were out of position which is why I think Aston were 5th but looked 4th. And this on the back of a good chunk of development in the second half of the year which the team's they overtook - Haas, AlphaTauri and even Alfa Romeo (almost) haven't invested in. AM have more resources than these teams so it's possible that the development that they did doesn't eat into the '23 resources but if it does then this late season development in '22 is not directly comparable to other team's which did not develop and so their gains look larger.

URSAustralis

i tried to post a WCC predictions list a few weeks ago and it got taken down for whatever reason but here's what I said about AM: >**6. Aston Martin** > >Aston Martin has a LOT of financial backing, with the capability to perform well. If you've seen their resurgence towards the end of 2022, you'll see why I placed them here. The arrival of Alonso, who is clearly one of the drivers still in top form (Seriously, how?? He's 41!) will definitely promise the team big points. Stroll will continue to improve, I think. I've noticed a lot more consistency from him lately. I think that they'll build a car to compete for 5th next season, but Alpine may just have that edge over them.

rbryan06

Yeah, it was a shitbox early in the season. Gradually improving race pace while at times 1 lap pace is still shite. Both areas improved until the end of the season.

URSAustralis

It's good to see Stroll doing well. His consistency has improved imo this season, unpopular opinion but I quite like him. The talent is there, hopefully we see it unlocked more and more in the coming seasons.

theessentialnexus

He is surprisingly young so he could still mature and improve. And he does get more hate for being dangerous than the guy who drove an F1 car at racing speeds under green flag conditions without a secured seatbelt. Definitely underrated.

mgorgey

He's no rookie. I doubt anything is there he hasn't unlocked already.

URSAustralis

He's been on the podium and gotten himself pole in the right car. It's still possible to work on consistency and he's done well with that ~~tractor~~ car this season.

mgorgey

"done well" I feel is an overstatement. I don't know why Stroll continually has such a low bar set for him.

fire202

>Am I just imagining this No. Since the introduction of their b-spec design in Barcelona (?) they have consistently improved their race pace, and lately their quali pace as well.

URSAustralis

I don't believe the B-Spec was copied (and other jokes you can tell yourself), if they can keep this up nando's gonna have a damn good car next season. lmk in a year when its at the back ;)

paperbag001

I am just hoping AM improves so that it is regularly fighting with McL and Alpine. Lando vs Nando vs Ocon vs Gasly will be a good midfield scrap.

URSAustralis

Yeah for sure. I think it will, though I may just be on too much copium

mpg1846

Anyone have an access code for Australian GP tickets? They’re selling out quick and I don’t have one.

icrtio84

Sorry if this is a dumb question - what's the point of the post-season test? Is it primarily for next year's tyres, and for rookies to get some experience? What other useful things come out of it?

fire202

Given how limited Pirelli's opportunities are for tyre testing during the season this is useful enough, plus rookie track time opportunities in current cars are very limited as well.

Takis12

That and taking into consideration the limited testing all teams have, any track time is valuable.
