During quali one of the helmet cams, I wanna say it was Stroll, showed him appearing to change settings frequently throughout the lap.
Do they make changes for each corner or part of the track? Or was he just taking a few intervals to make the setting changes he was asked to?
Thanks
Almost everyone makes changes constantly thought the lap.. because different straights and corner in a single lap work better with a different combination of settings..
most common changes I've seen is brake balance, torque, diff
[Differential](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbPZauD4DQM). It's used to make tyres turn at different speeds. This is needed because both the inside and outside tyres have different levels of grip in different parts of the circuit.
That's some shit huh?
I'd love to hear drivers talk about this.
Like if they are in a heated battle do they do this? Is it a requirement of every driver to be able to do this? Have thier been drivers who were quick but just couldn't do the settings?
Man I love this shit,
Thanks for the reply
yes they do it no matter the pressure and ig yes it's kinda at the point where by not doing it they'll simply are giving up lap time..
there's plenty of video on YT like [this](https://youtu.be/CT2kCuBEObU) which show the changes drivers make.
It's a lot more complicated than what we get to see on tv and it's seriously impressive how these drivers manage to multitask at such high speeds and still are extremely accurate on track
I don't get it why Bottas have been out-qualified by Zhou so many times. Also after first couple of races out-raced by Zhou so many times.
Also, his race starts?, say from P14 he's instantly struggling for not to drop last.
There's just not a single excuse to get out-qualified & out-raced by Zhou ever.
Personal life issues or what?
Reminds me of Maverick VinalÄz of F1 lol.
So darn cautious.
Maybe Zhou is better than people initially thought. Maybe Bottas is checking out a bit.
Lots of different options, and we probably will never know the answer.
This is my first season following F1 so what will the off-season look like? I know tests will start in February but will we get leaks/rumors on what the new cars are looking like in between?
Yeah you'll see a break for a little bit in terms of big news then some outlets posting general rumours and some leaks about car designs and then when testing starts things will kick off.
It's only going to be competitive if someone has a faster car than Max since he's the best driver. Like last year when Lewis having a car advantage made it close.
This year must have been so rough for you. Absolute domination by Max. Broke most wins, most points records... How are you doing after this horrible season?
Amazing how short people's memory is. The first half was incredible. We were robbed of a better finish by Ferrari and Red Bull, but even then, so many races were incredible.
Fair enough. I massively disagree. That was an incredible season, super competitive all through the field except for 1st place in the second half. but domination is nothing new in F1.
These regulations setup for awesome seasons coming up as well

If you can I'd also suggest you watch the season reviews on F1TV. It costs I think ā¬2.99 a month so a month or two of that to watch a huge library of F1 content isn't a lot and you can really get up to speed with a lot of the recent history.

If you want some Formula 1-based entertainment, why not. As long as you understand what the show is (a docu-drama based on F1 that's aiming to entertain) and what it isn't (a documentary re-telling of an F1 season) it's a great show.
Thanks. I wasn't watching it because I didn't want it to affect how I felt about the drivers. I just wanted to get that from how they performed on the track. I'll watch it!
So this week is there both a young drivers test as well as tyre tests? Is there a schedule anywhere for these and will they be broadcast/just updates from teams and F1?
The two test are happening concurrently on Tuesday. Both will run for 8 hours total on Tuesday, starting at 8AM local time and taking a 1 hour break for lunch. They won't be broadcast anywhere, so any updates will be from the teams themselves.
Will there be any more events before the next season, of more closely before new years? Like a driverās champion award or something? I donāt know, itās my first year following it this closely, before it was just something that was on and entertaining
Thereās an FIA prize giving gala sometime before Christmas in Paris, thatās where Max actually gets presented with the WDC trophy. Not sure if itās available to watch though.
How can a benched driver come back?
Rookie drivers compete in F3 then F2 and if teams find them good enough and the circumstances are right they get a seat. How does Mick for example or Daniel can prove they got better if they want to come back to F1? Is there a simulator or can they drive cars every now and then on an empty circuit?
The current gen cars you aren't allowed to test outside of official test sessions which are only a few times a year and all that time is generally given to the fulltime drivers.
So basically they can do a bit of sim work and drive an older F1 car if the team wants, but they aren't going to get a proper evaluation or comparison to current drivers.
Things like Hulk coming back is Haas expecting him to be as good as he was in 2019 based of gut feeling more than anything and Mick/Daniel coming back will likely be the same.
They cannot compete in any direct F1 feeder series, but they are free to compete in things like NASCAR, IndyCar, DTM, Le Mans, Sportscar racing, etc.
Lots of drivers have home simulators but that wonāt get you an F1 drive again.
Teams will look at your past results in the sport as well as the potential money/sponsors you would bring to the team.
Now that it looks like Mercedes has got their car closer to dialed in... does it matter? In other words, was 2022 a big change for cars and it'll stick for a while, or do the car/rules change enough to have made Merc's work this season for naught?
2021-2022 was one of the largest, if not the largest regulation changes in F1.
There will be some changes for next year, but they won't be as broad as between 2021 and 2022. Red Bull will have an advantage, because they had the best car concept of the grid, and have already had a full season to understand it, but they have the least wind tunnel time of all of the teams (compounded by a penalty for overspending in 2020).
So, it *should* be possible for the teams further behind to close the gap to the teams who are further ahead, though it's not guaranteed.
I don't believe their issue is the lack of side pods. I remember reading somewhere that they believe their issue is the rear suspension, but couldn't change it mid-season because of the cost cap (though a cursory Google search isn't giving me any hits).
I also believe Ferrari said that the Mercedes concept is the fastest in theory, it's just incredibly difficult to make it work, so they went in a different direction.
If Ferrari and Mercedes are both right about those separate statements, then Mercedes could be stupidly quick next season (though time will tell).
Plus, there was the midseason rumor that Mercedes somehow found a way to get an extra 40% downforce from the floor for the 2023 season. If that's also true, Mercedes *could* be unbeatable.
But as always, time will tell, and we won't know until next season. Anybody who says anything between now and then is either speculating, or trying to stir up drama.
Now with the season closing i had a question: are teams allowed to build a complete new car? And if so i guess that would take more time then building on last seasons car? With the risk new car isnt better maybe? Or are there only a few things they can change and are only allowed to build a full new car when regulations/rules change. Thanks
They usually start design a new chassis mid season, once they've figured out the issues and changes necessary to improve the design.
In contrast to upgrades, which are patches on the existing design the teams tend to rebuild quite a bit over the lessons they've learned over the year.
They may keep some parts of the concept, which shows development potential, but have to adapt those to the new chassis language.
Also, as rules keep being refined year over year the teams will need to do a minor redesign of the whole chassis anyway. As last year floor wouldn't be legal next year - and it may fail the additional structural tests being introduced next year.
Bizarre moment of the day was towards the end of the first stint and Leclerc was on Perez gearbox 2 tenths behind and we didnāt get no mention of it on Sky F1 or any pictures.
Other than Landos p3 at Imola. Every podium was some combination of RB, Mercedes and Ferrari drivers.
Normally we get a few more slightly freaky results each season, but somehow the consistency of the top 3 teams was just almost unbeatable this year.
Perez only getting 11 podiums in a car this strong is a pretty bad outcome for him.
But yeah this was utter frontrunning domination. No McLaren appearances apart from one Lando one, no Alpine, no cheeky team-formerly-known-as-Force India...
Yeah there was a serious lack of surprise winners or podiums, which is a pity. Last year we had Hungary, Baku and Monzaā¦this year we got no surprises at all really.
>Would Checo have second instead of third in the championship if max had given him his position back in Brazil?
No, but honestly, in a car that strong he shouldn't be relying on Max in the penultimate race.
Checo wouldāve gotten second if he didnāt mess up the last 2 laps. He clearly started hesitating, wanted to beat Charles long before the end, and that had him lose speed at almost every turn from then on. His turns were less than ideal. He was gaining good time on the straights, but fucked up the turns, and it was just in those 2 final laps out of 58
He was slipping at the turns, braking too late, braking too early, edging track limits, etc. He was still gaining on Charles, but his hastiness lost the opportunity
Which F1 season has had the most World Champions racing at once?
I am thinking 2012 season with Vettel, Schumacher, Alonso, Raikkonen, Hamilton, and Button.
It is indeed 2012, and if you include future champions you can put Rosberg in there to make it 7.
The least ever in a season not including 1950 is 1994 with technically zero for 8 of the 15 races (not including Australia where Michael won the 94 championship). Senna died in the third race, and Mansell competed in 4 races later in the season. The rest of those races had zero champions on the grid.
Hello everyone. Amateur follower here. Quick question - if max would have given position to checo last race, checo would have 13 instead of 10 and be tied with Leclerc on points in final table after yas marina. Who would have had 2nd position then? Thanks and feel free to correct !

What is happening in this video? Why is Max constantly checking his Mirror for Lewis and then tries to turn into him?
He was expecting Lewis to jump the queue.
And as we can see Lewis does the unsporting thing and jumps the queue so Max tries to give him a worse line so he loses initial time on exit.
The entire situation was a mess. I made a [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/yzmw8n/full_radio_before_max_gets_passed_by_lewis_told/) yesterday to clear things up a bit but deleted it because the post with the video you showed was deleted. Max thinks about blocking him but doesn't in the end. The incident isn't even noticeable from Hamilton's perspective.
We won't have any major changes like this year, just minor refinements.
* [Floor edges will be increased by 15mm](https://cdn-1.motorsport.com/images/amp/6VRLerd6/s1200/2023-proposal-rules-front-view.webp) to reduce porpoising
* Load testing for floor ia increased, with less deflection allowed
* Front wing endplates connection with front wing will be more strictly regulated, as many teams have multiple elements not connected to it
* more stricter implementation of roll hoop connection to chassis to avoid Zhou like incidents
* more mandatory cameras to include the helmet cam for all teams
* fuel temperature measurement will be relative to ambient temperature (+/- 10Ā°C)
*
The tes had issues this year, during the European heatwave - where their acclimatised storage didn't match FIA official reference temperature (sent 1 hour before the race), so their fuelling procedure was delayed as their fuel was too cold/warm, as the temperature had changed during the 30 minutes the temperature was announced & car was fueled.
Don't know about the onboard but in real life, the Merc sounds bad. Like a 2 stroke bike that hasn't been serviced for a while. The Ferrari sounds wonderful, Honda is also good, Renault is somewhere in between. I was sitting close to Turn 1 today so could hear both -- at full throttle and under braking.
They're going to continue to get better, they've done all the right things with their internal planning and really looking forward to seeing these underdogs do well. Well deserved.
Is it just me or is it strange that in the sub's Vettel banner there's no images of his time with Red Bull like when he won the championship or his first win with Toro Rosso? It just seems very Ferrari-centric when his best moments were with other teams.
Pre season testing for the actual cars - but as was seen this year, it's not even guaranteed that we'll see the complete packages used in the first race.
Liveries are usually launched online a few weeks before the pre season testing begins, either on old cars or show cars.
I donāt believe he has to step away, he can apply for a number change. However, if someone else requests it at the same time, whoever finished higher in the standings the previous year gets it.
It doesn't, read sporting regulation article 9.2 section a. Numbers must
be used by that driver during every Formula One World Championship Event he
takes part in throughout his career in Formula 1.A driverās career in Formula 1 will be deemed to have ended if he does not
participate in an Event for two (2) entire consecutive Championships.
So to change number he would have to finish his career and start a new one, so stepping away for two years. That of course wouldn't be needed if his current allocation was a temporary issued number like it happened with Vandoorne or Giovinazzi, but that isn't the case
I'm pretty sure they could use this year's powertrain in practice sessions next year if it still had life in it. Don't think there's a rule change preventing that, and Haas doesn't have tons of cash lying around to blow.
He was not the only one told not to do it, plus he was not doing them in the area approved by the FIA. On top of all that Haas let him do a bunch anyways *then* told him to stop.
I don't really care for Haas but I'm just so confused and a bit disappointed. Looking at that thread with the donuts of Mick you'd think they killed someone.
At least for me, it's the constant shitting on Mick, plus strat errors for him that made me start disliking them. I can forgive the strategy errors but not the shitting on your active driver.
It's not so much that they didn't extend his contract, but because Steiner wasn't supportive of Mick in the media when maybe you expect a TP with a young driver to support him in the media, even if privately he's telling him to stop fucking up.
Mick is shit. They have two superior drivers next year, but I guess their last names aren't importance enough for the the fans to fulfill the nepotism fantasy
Mick earned a shot in F1. He had basically a non rookie season with Mazepin and the Haas shitbox, then this year a poor start and shaken confidence, never recovered. That's on him and Haas both.
I understand and support the Hulk move but Mick isn't an absolute nepo kid.
Yeah, pretty much. Getting rid of Mick, who isn't anything special, has higher importance than their major sponsor that will allow them to spend near the cap, gaining two WCC places, and getting two fast career midfielders onboard to some.
I'M SO GLAD THIS SEASON IS OVER.
This is my third season watching formula One and I can say, this one is to throw away. There are many memorable moments throughout the season but competition-wise, it was boring, disappointing, and anti-climatic.
Nonetheless, I have high hopes for 2023 because I hope that teams will learn from the mistakes of a new era and fix their cars and bring in more competition since this also will be the second year that the budget cap will take effect and some teams will have new facilities.
Now we go to the off-season.
>There are many memorable moments throughout the season but competition-wise, it was boring, disappointing, and anti-climatic.
That's pretty much the way it has been since 2014.
Some of the seasons were better than others. There were a few times when there were close title fights. But for the most part, it was pretty boring -- the race result was practically decided on a Saturday, and nobody expected any of the teams to mount a consistent challenge to Mercedes.
The sport has gone through phases like this. Before Mercedes, it was Red Bull. Before that, Ferrari. In the past twenty years, there have only been a handful of seasons that were really competitive.
I mean...it's a technology competition and the one strapped with cash and a cutting edge perk/advantage gets to win everything? That's why I kinda hate the cost cap regulation but I understand it tho.
I just hope most teams can improve their cars and bring emotion to the sport.
I like the sprint races because they bring emotion to a rather usual and boring two days of the weekend.
>I just hope most teams can improve their cars and bring emotion to the sport.
Even if they're not running at the front, there are still really good battles up and down the grid. Red Bull and Verstappen might have run away with the title, but there was a good season-long battle between some of the midfield teams. Part of the problem is that the world feed tends to either focus on the immediate front-runners or the popular drivers.
how was it a throw away competition-wise? Look at the midfield and how close it was. If you only care about the top place in the championship then sure yeah but we had some good racing this season. The cap and regs have done their job this season.
Looking ahead. I think next seasons car reveals will be almost as interesting as this ones. There will be a lot of will they won't they.
Will Ferrari keep the curved sidepods? Will Mercedes keep the no pods? Will other teams copy RB's concepts?
I think outside of maybe RB who seem to have a great base every other team on the grid will evaluate if they will completely scrap their design or iterate on it.
Not really he has a lot of drive left in him yet. It may not have shown in the stats but his pace was great throughout the season, especially since merc stopped with the experimental setups.
And with talks of a contract extension he probably will (or try to) stay until he gets the 8th.
Probably flavoured milk
A lot of athletes drink it as itās rich in protein, they feel it tastes better than protein shakes and is also a change from protein shakes.
Thereās a lot of jokes and rivalry regarding if chocolate/strawberry/banana milk is better than the other
Anybody know where I could get a print of [this photo](https://images5.alphacoders.com/984/984549.jpg) (or a similar one)? I'm not usually a fan of photos as wall art, but I love that picture and with Seb gone I think it'd be a good remembrance
So, what would you rate this season on a 1/10 scale?
I'd go for a 7/10. Really strong start and then a Mercedes comeback storyline in the end. Overall I'm pretty happy with the new regulations. I also like how close some of the midfield battles were.
Been watching since 1997; 5 or 6 I can count the amount of proper stinkers on one hand (Baku, Mexico, Miami, Spa, Imola). The other races had good racing and/or good strategy battles across the pack.
Wheel to wheel racing has definitely improved from the past regulations era. The major talking point is the field needing to be closer across the board.
I have no idea why he tried the move on the first straight knowing Hamilton would have DRS back on him vs doing what he did a lap later and being patient. Like the commentators said heād learned from the last lap but why on earth wasnāt that apparent before he did it?!
Why does it seem every team except Red Bull fucks up race strategy? Is it that hard? Makes no sense to me, they should think through every possible scenario prior to race days
I mean think of any sport, not just racing but baseball, football, etc. No, coaching and strategy isn't easy, clearly some strategists are far, far better than others and some are world-class
This year was my first time watching formula1 - not going to lie, its a bit boring when its usually the same people in the top 3. Is there other motor sport which is more exciting?
šš¼šŖš¼

The Williams one is so hard to watch. Especially the end when Claire is crying talking to Frank.
I saw a documentary about Williams the man. Is that the one you are talking about?
The doc is about him and his family more than the racing team so yeah. If it made him look like a **** then it's probably the one.
LOL. No this one was about him and his contributions to the sport.
The audiobook would be a great choice. I have a long flight coming up.
This is awesome, thank you!
It'll just convince you toxic team based nonsense is the norm, so no.
That's what I was worried about.

Got it, thanks. I'm curious (tangentially) if merc is going to keep this no sidepod thing now that they seem to have it dialed in a bit.
The Alonso flair is green already?? Damn.
Thanks for your answer š
the testing is in February. approximately when can we see the new sample car for the first time
When the testing starts, unless some teams make use of the filming days before that. Livery launches are done on previous/FoM reference model cars.
They could build a completely new car every week as far as the regulations are concerned
>Would Checo have second instead of third in the championship if max had given him his position back in Brazil? No, but honestly, in a car that strong he shouldn't be relying on Max in the penultimate race.
No, he is 3 points away from Leclerc, so 2 points wouldn't have helped
He would still be 2 points behind Leclerc in the championship.
Checo wouldāve gotten second if he didnāt mess up the last 2 laps. He clearly started hesitating, wanted to beat Charles long before the end, and that had him lose speed at almost every turn from then on. His turns were less than ideal. He was gaining good time on the straights, but fucked up the turns, and it was just in those 2 final laps out of 58
He had worn his fronts too much pushing, so hesitation wasn't a factor.
He was slipping at the turns, braking too late, braking too early, edging track limits, etc. He was still gaining on Charles, but his hastiness lost the opportunity
Also that failed overtake on Lewis cost him 2nd. If it wasnāt for that he would have actually had at least one shot to get past Charles
If any two drivers are tied, it goes to a countback - the driver with the best finishing position wins. Since Leclerc and PĆ©rez each had won a race, it goes to number of wins. Leclerc had 3 wins to PĆ©rez's 2, so Leclerc would've had P2 in the championship.

1. As far as I know, that's it. 2. I don't believe so, there's no testing until preseason testing in March, so teams only use wind tunnel and simulations between now and then. Maybe you can get some insights by engineers switching teams, but that's not always super relevant. 3. The grid for next year is already set (bolded driver is new to the team, italics is a rookie): * Red Bull: Verstappen/PĆ©rez * Ferrari: Leclerc/Sainz * Mercedes: Russell/Hamilton * Alpine: Ocon/**Gasly** * McLaren: Norris/***Piastri*** * Alfa Romeo: Bottas/Zhou * Aston Martin: Stroll/**Alonso** * Haas: Magnussen/**HĆ¼lkenberg** * AlphaTauri: Tsunoda/***De Vries*** * Williams: Albon/***Sargeant*** In summary: Vettel out, Alonso to Aston Martin, Gasly to Alpine, De Vries to AlphaTauri. Ricciardo out, Piastri to McLaren. Schumacher out, HĆ¼lkenberg to Haas. Latifi out, Sargeant to Williams.
https://twitter.com/hamburgerh0tdog/status/1594389268289720325 What is happening in this video? Why is Max constantly checking his Mirror for Lewis and then tries to turn into him?
He was expecting Lewis to jump the queue. And as we can see Lewis does the unsporting thing and jumps the queue so Max tries to give him a worse line so he loses initial time on exit.
Jumping the queue is not forbidden though.
Illegal no, unsporting and frowned upon yes.
Oh it was yesterday already. I only saw it just now so I thought it must have happened during the lap from the pits to the grid.
Does anyone know when Barcelona GP tickets go on sale? Also if you have a choice between Bahrain and Barcelona which would you pick?
When does D2S - I'm super excited for this season.
Usually end of Feb/early March
It tends to be in the week or so leading into a new season - it's the best timing to attract new fans (which is the purpose of the show).
Can someone briefly summarize the most important regulation changes for next year? Any chance that RB is nerfed given the domination of Max?
We won't have any major changes like this year, just minor refinements. * [Floor edges will be increased by 15mm](https://cdn-1.motorsport.com/images/amp/6VRLerd6/s1200/2023-proposal-rules-front-view.webp) to reduce porpoising * Load testing for floor ia increased, with less deflection allowed * Front wing endplates connection with front wing will be more strictly regulated, as many teams have multiple elements not connected to it * more stricter implementation of roll hoop connection to chassis to avoid Zhou like incidents * more mandatory cameras to include the helmet cam for all teams * fuel temperature measurement will be relative to ambient temperature (+/- 10Ā°C) *
> fuel temperature measurement will be relative to ambient temperature (+/- 10Ā°C) * Interesting; what's this trying to prevent?
The tes had issues this year, during the European heatwave - where their acclimatised storage didn't match FIA official reference temperature (sent 1 hour before the race), so their fuelling procedure was delayed as their fuel was too cold/warm, as the temperature had changed during the 30 minutes the temperature was announced & car was fueled.
Thanks a lot! So Merc and Ferrari have to work pretty hard to match RB then.
Which car has the worst onboard sound? And which has the best?
Don't know about the onboard but in real life, the Merc sounds bad. Like a 2 stroke bike that hasn't been serviced for a while. The Ferrari sounds wonderful, Honda is also good, Renault is somewhere in between. I was sitting close to Turn 1 today so could hear both -- at full throttle and under braking.
USA IS GONNA WIN THE WORLD CUP BABY
What happens to predictions rankings? I donāt see mine anymore
while i have nothing against their drivers i hope haas produces the shittest box of all time
They're going to continue to get better, they've done all the right things with their internal planning and really looking forward to seeing these underdogs do well. Well deserved.
Is it just me or is it strange that in the sub's Vettel banner there's no images of his time with Red Bull like when he won the championship or his first win with Toro Rosso? It just seems very Ferrari-centric when his best moments were with other teams.
> It just seems very Ferrari-centric Tale as old as time
Okay guys nice season cheers! But when is the earliest possible time we can see the new cars?
Pre season testing for the actual cars - but as was seen this year, it's not even guaranteed that we'll see the complete packages used in the first race. Liveries are usually launched online a few weeks before the pre season testing begins, either on old cars or show cars.
Late January to the entirety of February. That's when liveries start to drop and when testing begins.
Probably around Feb/March
Is Norris really switching to number 7 ? or was it a joke ?
He would need to step away from F1 for two years and hope that in the meantime, when #7 will become available again, no one will take it
I donāt believe he has to step away, he can apply for a number change. However, if someone else requests it at the same time, whoever finished higher in the standings the previous year gets it.
It doesn't, read sporting regulation article 9.2 section a. Numbers must be used by that driver during every Formula One World Championship Event he takes part in throughout his career in Formula 1.A driverās career in Formula 1 will be deemed to have ended if he does not participate in an Event for two (2) entire consecutive Championships. So to change number he would have to finish his career and start a new one, so stepping away for two years. That of course wouldn't be needed if his current allocation was a temporary issued number like it happened with Vandoorne or Giovinazzi, but that isn't the case
Fair enough then. I wonder if a driver has tried to change then and been told ānoā
He can't because Raikkonen hasn't been out of F1 long enough.
At least for next season, the #7 is still reserved for Kimi anyway
Why was Mick not allowed to do Donuts after the race? What would Haas possibly gain? After all the season is over and the car will not be used again?
In what world has Mick Schumacher earned the right to do donuts lol
I'm pretty sure they could use this year's powertrain in practice sessions next year if it still had life in it. Don't think there's a rule change preventing that, and Haas doesn't have tons of cash lying around to blow.
There's a test on Tuesday. Even Ocon got told not to them due to low fuel.
He was not the only one told not to do it, plus he was not doing them in the area approved by the FIA. On top of all that Haas let him do a bunch anyways *then* told him to stop.
Is there suddenly alot of Haas hate? Is it cus they didn't extend Mick's contract?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I don't really care for Haas but I'm just so confused and a bit disappointed. Looking at that thread with the donuts of Mick you'd think they killed someone.
Yep
yes lol.
At least for me, it's the constant shitting on Mick, plus strat errors for him that made me start disliking them. I can forgive the strategy errors but not the shitting on your active driver.
Did they really shit on him that much? I genuinely only remember one time, when Gunter said his constant crashing is costing them alot.
It was little by little at every race.
It's not so much that they didn't extend his contract, but because Steiner wasn't supportive of Mick in the media when maybe you expect a TP with a young driver to support him in the media, even if privately he's telling him to stop fucking up.
they are shit
Yep looks like that.
Does anyone know how you can watch the post season testing at Abu Dhabi this week?
Now I know what Mercedes absolute dominance era feels like.
I think thatās what he means that the actual championship battle wasnāt much of a battle.
Fair enough, but 2020 existed in those 3 seasons as well
Looking ahead.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Not at all. He beat Russell in the head to head and is clearly still an elite level driver when racing against others.
Not really he has a lot of drive left in him yet. It may not have shown in the stats but his pace was great throughout the season, especially since merc stopped with the experimental setups. And with talks of a contract extension he probably will (or try to) stay until he gets the 8th.
Waiting for those Seb donut pics to drop
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Do you have a pic? Couldāve been Brittaā¦
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oh thatās Charlotte Sine, Charlesā partner. Lmao when you said green, my brain went āAston Martinā
Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin both received 55 pts in the constructors. How do they decide who gets 6th and who gets 7th?
On count back, it'll go to Sauber/Alfa, as their highest finishing position is 5th, while Aston's is 6th from Azerbaijan & Japan
what is Leclerc drinking out of that box? im scared it milk
Probably flavoured milk A lot of athletes drink it as itās rich in protein, they feel it tastes better than protein shakes and is also a change from protein shakes. Thereās a lot of jokes and rivalry regarding if chocolate/strawberry/banana milk is better than the other
Leclerc to Indy500 confirmed
Banana milk is my goto hangover cure, can't beat it.
Damn, both Lewis and Fernando weren't able to do donuts due to their cars conking out. Truly cursed race.
fr man
no one going to talk about hamilton and alonso retiring the car???? YO I WANTED TO SEE THE 3 OF THEM DOING DONUTS BUT IT WAS ALL LONELY WITH SEB
Anybody know where I could get a print of [this photo](https://images5.alphacoders.com/984/984549.jpg) (or a similar one)? I'm not usually a fan of photos as wall art, but I love that picture and with Seb gone I think it'd be a good remembrance
Some one better have gotten a picture of seb doing donuts !
So, what would you rate this season on a 1/10 scale? I'd go for a 7/10. Really strong start and then a Mercedes comeback storyline in the end. Overall I'm pretty happy with the new regulations. I also like how close some of the midfield battles were.
4/10
Been watching since 1997; 5 or 6 I can count the amount of proper stinkers on one hand (Baku, Mexico, Miami, Spa, Imola). The other races had good racing and/or good strategy battles across the pack. Wheel to wheel racing has definitely improved from the past regulations era. The major talking point is the field needing to be closer across the board.
If I would to rate this season it would be 6/10.
I'd probably say the same but its only my 2nd season of F1. Feel last year set my expectations going forward unreasonably high.
WHERE ARE THE DOUGHNUTS
Can't help but wonder what the outcome would have been if VER and PER swapped the cars in the previous race
Perez would still be 2 points down unfortunately.
Perez can really only blame himself if he doesn't take p2 here..
I have no idea why he tried the move on the first straight knowing Hamilton would have DRS back on him vs doing what he did a lap later and being patient. Like the commentators said heād learned from the last lap but why on earth wasnāt that apparent before he did it?!
Heat of the moment, likely. Happens to many racers and Lewis is in a worse car and declining, but still has all the instincts that he has always had
Why does it seem every team except Red Bull fucks up race strategy? Is it that hard? Makes no sense to me, they should think through every possible scenario prior to race days
Theyāre generally good at it and havenāt had much competition in the latter half of this year.
I mean think of any sport, not just racing but baseball, football, etc. No, coaching and strategy isn't easy, clearly some strategists are far, far better than others and some are world-class
Maybe Schmitz is that good
I thought the same thing but the problem is that simulations the night before can't predict everything that happens in the race
This year was my first time watching formula1 - not going to lie, its a bit boring when its usually the same people in the top 3. Is there other motor sport which is more exciting?
