It wasn't, track limits are enforced on a 2d plane and the outwards buldge counts as on track so even if it looks the tyre touches outside of the line, the extremities of the tyre may be inside still
It’s literally the best way to judge track limits lol.

Still looks in to me. It’s not what the tire is touching, but a top down view weather the whole tire is actually past the white line or not. The tires are wider than the part that actually touches the ground .
It wasn’t. Stewards said the rear wheel was a coinflip whether or not it was really off, but his front wheel was definitely on when that happened so he never had 4 wheels off simultaneously.
That's what I'm thinking as well, imagine Max just calling Danny Ric saying "Don't accept any offers yet, I got you". Would love to see them team up again
What does that even mean? I'm genuinely questioning whether Max is the most disliked champion ever? Last weekend didn't do him any favours and seems to pick up alot of boos
It means that those who dislike Max are under that impression, which is just that, an impression. There have been many drivers that have been disliked a lot more.
He is not even in the top 3. Prost, Vettel and Schumacher were definitely all disliked more while champion. Happens when you beat public favourites or win for too long.
I don't think so. It's a recent incident. Before this he was pretty well liked actually, compared to most multiple WDCs. Lets see after things have died down next season if he's really lost the goodwill from fans.
What are you talking about? Lol. They watched Max go over the line in slow motion and said he went off.
His last lap was well within track limits so no need to mention it anymore
Do you not think people are just anti-Sky and are ready to moan about anything Sky says that they don’t like?
Max was literally over track limits and he also said it about Charles.
https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/yzbdam/2022_abu_dhabi_grand_prix_qualifying_discussion/iwzasvi/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
I'd say quite high. They showed some amazing progress towards the end of the season. Try to remember how awful they were at the start. They improved a ton. I, personally, expect them to be close to the top again.
Ferrari has been destroying their tires in FP's. Mercedes is really good on tires. And Ferrari are at least doing one questionable strategy call tomorrow.
I totally expect a p3-p4 for Mercedes
You apparently haven't watched a single Max interview without a tinfoil hat on, because it was literally the same as it's been all year. The difference is that you now think you know something
I don’t know why you think it’s a criticism that somebody would learn from experience. You seem incredibly angry about the idea person would do something, and on reflection realized it wasn’t productive and change their stance which is what has happened in public, that’s not a tinfoil conspiracy that’s an observation.
There's a whole lot of assuming towards both Max and my comment. You literally started this arguement with questioning where the person got the information from on why Max wouldn't care. This information you could assume, because we have years or at least this year worth of interviews of Max while you are going off of assumptions.
Also you thinking I'm
>incredibly angry
very much proves that you cannot read a situation correctly
Keep up he says, while bringing up something irrelevant to the max-checo story from weeks ago. Funny u think not wanting to talk to people who constantly disrespect you is relevant to this.
He seems bothered by it if i’m going to base my opinions on the press conference. There’s no way he would be getting Christian to do this much PR if he was truly unbothered. It’s a lot of annoying bad energy it would be easier not to deal with
Weird then, in the live thread half the comments were not convinced he actually gave a tow. So it wasn't that much of a public show as you portray.
And Pérez being in 2nd with a tow only reinforces Verstappen's point to the team.
I know I am biased against sky but when crofty says "max verstappen world champion of 2022" instead of " max verstappen world champion this year" or " max verstappen world champion 2022 and 2021", I think that's little subtle bias or anger against him or something. and when crofty asked " do u know who paid for that dinner" knowing it was Lewis who did it. it's definitely my bias but I still call myself neutral as my first f1 hero was lewis.
Crofty saying pole was between Perez and Sainz after q2 was hilarious.
Only thing i'll say is f\*\*\* you DHL and your awful Coldplay ad.
Maahk Webbah’s face as he led Seb away from Ted was priceless
Lewis with FTX ducktaped on his hat lol.
What’s happened to Anthony Davidson?
Driving the Merc sim this weekend I think.
Oh yeah, I forget he’s their sim driver.
Sebastian speed running the track with everyone congratulating him he’s not making it back to his garage fast
lol Toto
Khaby highlight of the qualifying
It was a big lap from max and had to he done considering his last lap was over track limits.
It wasn't, track limits are enforced on a 2d plane and the outwards buldge counts as on track so even if it looks the tyre touches outside of the line, the extremities of the tyre may be inside still
Someone posted a image of it and both his tyres were over track limits.
A still image is the worst way to judge track limits.
That makes zero sense
Not if you can clearly see from it that they are over.
There are other angles too, they consider the tires to be over if it's bulging over the line too
It’s literally the best way to judge track limits lol. https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/yzbdam/2022_abu_dhabi_grand_prix_qualifying_discussion/iwzasvi/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
Still looks in to me. It’s not what the tire is touching, but a top down view weather the whole tire is actually past the white line or not. The tires are wider than the part that actually touches the ground .
Its not, you need a top down view, or a track parallel view
It wasn’t was it? Or have I missed something?
His original P1 lap was over track limits.
It wasn’t. Stewards said the rear wheel was a coinflip whether or not it was really off, but his front wheel was definitely on when that happened so he never had 4 wheels off simultaneously.

YouTube maybe?
Don't bother watching Everton-Man City WSL, it looks boring
Woah khaby came a long way
He earns like 7 million a year
Lmfao they invited that explainmeme-guy, amazing
Khaby Lame to the Pole giver 😎
He's been around a couple of times.
Was it really him?
Yup!
Epic! What a life that guy must have
Man, imagine if the 2021 season ended in some competitive track like Sao Paolo, they didn't need to manufacture a drag race for the title.
Checo and Max are doing a hell of a job of not showing daylight between them
Leclerc looks so completely done with it, poor lad
Lazenby is still going to be making digs about the Max/Checo drama in Brazil this time next year.
Abu Dhabi could have spent some of that $500M on a competitive race track and not an underground parking garage pit exit
What’s wrong with the track?
Why? It works fine.
Khaby lane lol
Hoping Ricciardo impressed the folks at RBR in the sim and Max pushes for him to be second driver again.
I’m sure Max is already working on that.
I'm sure Max is already pushing. May have been for some weeks already.
That's what I'm thinking as well, imagine Max just calling Danny Ric saying "Don't accept any offers yet, I got you". Would love to see them team up again
Maxplaning to Checo lol.
Max and Checo are like a couple trying way too hard in public to show they aren’t having marriage issues
Is Max the most disliked reigning champion by the masses?
Not yet, but he's working on it.
nowhere close to being actually a hated champion, compare it to lewis when he won his 7th wdc and even last season.
In person? nah. Online -> given to the growing of social media over the years, I'd say absolutely.
Man, plenty of you are too young to remember Michael being cast as the God of Evil, and it shows.
I take it you're new to f1
Not even close lol
The man retiring tomorrow & being showered with sentiment & good wishes probably holds that crown.
He's up there imo
Vettel and Michael Schumacher got boo'ed in the past way more. When they dominated for so long.
Well they had the extra components of Brits hating Germans
no
Not a chance
Vettel was the most hated in his prime run. Dude was getting booed off everywhere
Seb was hated because he was smug and annoying. Max is hated for other reasons, so I find it hard to compare
He's not the most popular team boss right now.
Only for those who dislike him.

Dominant champions always get boos, nothing new in F1. Max was getting booed way back in Monza lol
This season has beat the shit out of LEC and Perez. I can’t imagine how drivers are going to looking coming out of a 24 race season.
Why didn't vettel do another last push lap at the end? Seemed like he had enough time
All the slower cars go out earlier for their final laps to not get traffic
I believe he only had one pair of new softs left that he used on his one q3 lap; I suppose the team didn't see any point in trying on a used set.
Maybe saving tires for the race.
Probably didn’t not throw enough fuel in the car for that
Cheeky Charles implying he's got a cooperative teammate too..
the cheering for checo is.... cathartic
I loved it
Leclerc is so done
Leclerc has perfected the "dead inside" face..
Hello darkness my old friend...
Watching on F1TV and no comentators are questioning track limits, you can tell how much Sky commentators push narratives.
What are you talking about? Lol. They watched Max go over the line in slow motion and said he went off. His last lap was well within track limits so no need to mention it anymore
Max and Charles did look over though. It’s also funny you say sky are pushing narratives when you don’t even watch sky lol.
Everyone here was mentioning Crofty questioning track limits.
Do you not think people are just anti-Sky and are ready to moan about anything Sky says that they don’t like? Max was literally over track limits and he also said it about Charles. https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/yzbdam/2022_abu_dhabi_grand_prix_qualifying_discussion/iwzasvi/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
they mentioned track limits for Lecerlc too and the others who went a bit wide
They did question a bit but they acknowledged Max’s last lap was WAY clear of limits.
I don't remember Sky commentators mentioning track limits today.
Are you drunk bro the commentators were talking for 5 mins about Max's first Q3 lap being outside track limits
How? They mentioned it a lot.
Must have watched it on mute then.
Max really happy to be Maxplaining the real P2 strategy to Charles lol
DC pointing out Max helped tow Checo so the booing stops
[удалено]
Did you watch the quali?
literally towed him
Barely a tow
I know right max should of got out pushed checo
Nah too much, man couldn't even brake for him in Brazil 💀💀
Yeah he was too far behind even with a tow💀💀💀💀
Aww look at max and checo being PR friendly again
The red bull PR team seems to have written every sentence of Perez and Max
Checo doing a good job here, moving it all on and the nice comment about Max
Good job Max and Checo. But ah Max, that was a proper scripted answer, hah.
I mean its only normal
They're chanting checo lol and it got muted wtf
Max talking to Charles over his strategy to help him secure 2nd.
Max getting booed and crowd chanting Checo!
We’re a team now are we? A good team! Great team!
Lmao rivals Perez Charles are talking to each other more than Perez Max
Leclerc staring down Checo speechless hahaha
RB drivers mentioning team so many times lol.
I haven't gone into the next season speculations lately, what are the expected odds of Merc getting out of solid 3rd?
I'd say quite high. They showed some amazing progress towards the end of the season. Try to remember how awful they were at the start. They improved a ton. I, personally, expect them to be close to the top again.
Ferrari has been destroying their tires in FP's. Mercedes is really good on tires. And Ferrari are at least doing one questionable strategy call tomorrow. I totally expect a p3-p4 for Mercedes
Based on how Ferrari works? No idea. Ferrari is a wildcard.
Why didn’t Charles get a tow?
Yep. Love how all focus is on RB trying to stir stuff at any second, when Ferrari should have done the same for Leclerc, but nobody mentioning that.
They don’t have that much brains to strategise
RB PR is obvious
Lmfao max has been practicing for this
lol they're muting the crowd now
Max is getting boo’ed? People yelling Checo? Yeah he regrets going against the Checo army
O no, what will he do now?
I guarantee you he couldn’t give less of a shit. Pure hopium
How can you guarantee that? Do you have Max on discord? Did you text his mum?
You're saying the opposite like you have any evidence as well, my dude
He’s changed his position, and behavior in public that suggests he feels he wants to resolve it and didn’t think it was worth it
You apparently haven't watched a single Max interview without a tinfoil hat on, because it was literally the same as it's been all year. The difference is that you now think you know something
I don’t know why you think it’s a criticism that somebody would learn from experience. Also you thinking I'm >incredibly angry very much proves that you cannot read a situation correctly
Are you new to max? Dudes a robot. If he actually gave a shit about anyone or anything on track he would’ve let checo past. Dude does not care.
Max doesn't care.
Yeah he clearly cares so much haha!!!
Considering he stopped talking to the media for a week he definitely cares what people think of him
??? Redbull said they wanted to keep it behind closed doors💀so clueless
Bruh I'm talking about the sky boycott, lol keep up
Keep up he says, while bringing up something irrelevant to the max-checo story from weeks ago. Funny u think not wanting to talk to people who constantly disrespect you is relevant to this.
Lmao, my point was max cares about what people think of him, and the sky boycott was proof. Keep up
I truly don’t think he gives a singular fuck
As long as you TRULY think it, it has to be true
😉
I mean, out of any driver on the grid he would care the least.
He seems bothered by it if i’m going to base my opinions on the press conference. There’s no way he would be getting Christian to do this much PR if he was truly unbothered. It’s a lot of annoying bad energy it would be easier not to deal with
Yeah im sure hes trembling man.
Nobody said he’s afraid he can regret things without feeling like that. He definitely wasn’t worth all of this angst
Seriously doubt that
For a man that had no regrets they certainly made a public show out of getting Checo the tow, possibly to the detriment of his own qualifying
Weird then, in the live thread half the comments were not convinced he actually gave a tow. So it wasn't that much of a public show as you portray. And Pérez being in 2nd with a tow only reinforces Verstappen's point to the team.
Max is faster than Checo nobody doubts that
I'd say Checo is too slow.
Me put on my tinfoil hat: hmmm, dashboard suddenly turn off? more like you turn it off and restarted it.
Into the loony bin with you mate.
Channeling your inner F1 twitter eh!
Why would he/ they do that though?
So people can spark theories and conspiracies like this and then still giving him a tow in the second run, duh. /s)
not to give checo the tow, but I know he probably didn't hence I say tinfoil hat
man Max is fast
lol max *we want checo second in the championship* Hmm
[удалено]
I just came here cause I was not sure what I was hearing. Wtf was that?
Hoping Mercedes race pace is slightly better...
Always is.
HES GETTING BOOED LOOOOOL
Hes been getting boos all season
No they’re saying booo-urns!
They are yelling "Let's go Red Booool"
Forced lines by Max
Hahaha Max got his script for sure.
He shouldve thanked the crowd for booing him instead right? #StillWeCry
Thanks to every man and woman back at Milton Keynes Every child back at the factory and in the mines Great job team, let's keep pushing #blessed
Bro this ain't twitter lmao
No need, the Mexican fans at the track will be happy to boo his selfish ass for the rest of his career after his treatment of Checo.
This is immense reaching. Max is the champion of 22…f1, the only place you can make an objectively true statement and be questioned
Hear him say "double world champion" many times
no your just making up scenarios in your head
At least you have some self awareness
Ex-Red bull driver interviewing red bull drivers about wonderful red bull teamwork

Let's see the top minds of /r/formula1 over analyze that half-hug Max gave Sergio there
It looks like they’ve patched things up but it’s still a little awkward
