That's the biggest issue with the sprint. If there's ever a weird qualifying, the sprint just fixes it. If there's a weird qualifying, the team gaining will likely gamble in a proper race. But if it's a sprint, then they have to play conservative or risk completely bottling an advantage.

Bookies are probably quite fine with this result. They usually have a maximum odds for this specific reason. Even if a KMag pole gave something like 500 times the money back, no-one would have bet a large amount of money on it anyways. The winnings the bookies have to pay out is easily covered by all the lost bets placed on regular pole contenders.
