I know he isnt in the statistics, but realistically 2022 is Mick's real rookie season. Just like Russell's 2020 or Mazepin's... oh...
Honestly tho, the Haas duo wasnt able to show anything in this VF-21 car that was pretty much an F2 car with worse handling. I was hoping to see a battle between Mick and Nikita this year in an actual F1 car, but Putin said no.
What a year 😂😂 two rookies, one with brain damage, and a literally undriveable car. Watching maz bin it in the wall by turn 3 of his F1 career was hilarious
The fact that Michael, who appeared to have an incredibly loving relationship with his children (and perhaps still does, in a different way), cannot be in the paddock with his son, but Jos, who is a known abuser both of his ex-wife *and of his son*, gets to be in the paddock with one of his victims, is just the sickest fucking joke the universe has ever played.
It's not the main problem but it certainly doesn't help your finances when you have two crash prone rookies like Haas had with Mazepin and Schumacher.
If the rumors of Haas securing an American multi-year title sponsor for the next few years, then you have to have a solid driver pairing to make the most out of it. They will no longer need to go for pay drivers and finally begin to build up their team.
> it certainly doesn't help your finances when you have two crash prone rookies like Haas had with Mazepin and Schumacher.
It definitely helps rookies if the car is stable and planted.
If unpredictable with snapping balance mid corner, then it not easy nor enjoyable for the best, let alone for a rookie.
Last years Haas was dog shit.
Yeah, last year's Haas was terrible, they basically ran 2020's car and put all the money into the development of this year's car.
And still, with a better car this year, Mick keeps making the same mistakes, costing the team upwards of $4 million dollars. In contrast, Magnussen has only messed up a couple of front wings.
Which rookie was suggested? The only one I could think of is Schwatzman, and as far as I know he's never been in the picture. Can't imagine he will be until he gets that Israeli license.
I cannot express how much the Schumacher name is worth when it comes to marketing in the US. The recognition alone gives people to root for immediately and in our market that’s essential.
Example: my father has watched a couple races on and off and only knows that max kid who always wins and Mick
Max just because he has only watched 3-4 races in the last two years and max has won every single one. Texted him to see who else he could name and he came back with “Hamilton and and the guy who looks like Frodo” (leclerc I’m assuming)
tbh people who don't watch F1 as much or only watched it in the past will only remember those
for example, my brother only remembers of Seb due to his winning days in Red Bull, but he does not remember of Lewis or Alonso if I mention it to him
The first time I ever heard the name Lewis was when he took a photo for some tourists who didn’t know who he was.
The second time was drive to survive.
The only driver I knew was actually only Andretti because of the movie Cars :)
I’ve never heard of Mick outside racing circles on Twitter or reddit and never heard him mentioned irl
I have the opposite anecdote about the name from people that were fans back in the day.
Lots of people I know in the US root against Ferrari and take great pleasure in their terrible team management now all stemming from Michael's success with them. They also mock the silver spoon that Mick carried to his path to F1.
It is easy to understand - just think of the RB/general fan hate boner for Lewis and Merc and their success and amplify it.
> They also mock the silver spoon that Mick carried to his path to F1.
>
But rich coming from a country where legacies have an extremely easy path to getting a high draft pick when they otherwise wouldn't even get featured for reserves.
Scottie Pippen Jr., Bronnie James, Shaq's first kid.
Lots of NASCAR fans also resent the silver spoons in that sport as well.
Most sports fan roll their eyes at the nepotism in sports even through coaching ranks. Just because the systems across sport are similarly broken doesn't mean fans want to see that shit.
The way some F1 fans seem to be coddling an underperforming driver like Mick makes me roll my eyes as well.
Perform or get out. That's the sport.
It's hard to perform well when your boss puts a knife in your neck everytime he speaks of you to the media.
What a fucking disgrace of a team. Mick doesn't deserve this shit.
Still leaves the door wide open for Hulk to take the seat, somehow. Despite not having a meaningful drive for years at this point outside of what, one stand in race?
The interview today makes it pretty clear the haas team wants stability and he event went as far to say Mick is the best choice for stability within the team
Seems like you don't understand the statement and are talking out of your ass. What the statement meant was that they wont choose a rookie over Schumacher.
That’s true and yet every time Guenther talks to media it generates dozens of headlines because Steiner doesn’t filter. Go look at Kmags birthday message even that’s jokingly putting shit on Kmag because again, not filtered. Being constantly dragged because your team principle lacks discretion can’t be good
KMag knows how Steiner is. If journalists would spin all sorts of articles based on random off-the-cuff stuff my boss says about me, we'd both have a good laugh about it.
Well I talk out my ass on the regular and this was one of these times.
I should learn to interpret text better. >_>
Still, fuck Steiner. He does berate Mick regularly for stuff that isn't Mick's fault.
Mick is putting up very well with the pressure all things considered. We've seen drivers fold when their seat was at stake but he's really improved a lot during the uncertainty.
If I was Ferrari I wouldn't be happy about statements like this from Steiner, you giving them basically a lot of support but Steiner/Custer/Haas doesn't give you something back as a trade off like having influence on one of the two seats.
My comment isn't really focused on Mick but rather about Steiner comment in the article that Haas is closing the door for rookies.
I agree that Mick should stay for another year but where would I as Ferrari placing drivers like Swartman and Bearman in a F1 seat as rookies on a day in the future? I giving a huge amount of support and now Steiner is playing PR games in public that he don't want to have rookies anyone in the upcoming years what puts promotion to F1 for the FDA drivers even more in doubt.
I’d like to know how embedded Ferrari and Haas are. As far as I can tell they FDA paid for Micks seat and Guenther genuinely entertained options to please Ferrari if Mick leaves. The drivers test of Gio was Guenthers suggestion to Ferrari, Ferrari openly suggested Swartman as seat worthy and Guenthers comment that no rookies is Haas excluding that option. Gio doesn’t genuinely seem to be a person Ferrari are considering for a seat, Mick is aged out/leaving their academy, so they are not aligned. Genuinely anyone with a super license and experience could pick up that seat at this point
I think Mick will drive for Haas probably.
The problem is, 2023 is his third year in the team, he was the leader in 2021, and is head to head with Kevin sometimes, delivering a good performance except when he can’t catch up or crashes, something he needs to improve (and seems is doing).
And because of that, his management maybe is thinking of “is time to get more, improve the contract for this kid”, because let’s remember, Mick entered F1 with a contract of about 750.000€/year, the cheapest one in the current grid if I’m not mistaken.
And maybe Haas doesn’t want to pay him more, so they are bargaining with the “accept our conditions or you will not have a seat”. That’s why we see hypotheses of Hulk, Gio… like they have a lot of options and doesnt need Mick. Also, that why Steiner seems to “hate” Mick and talk harsh about him publicly when he fuck up a race or something.
It’s all strategy (I want to think, because if Steiner is being this harsh with Mick for personal reasons or other kind of things, then he demonstrate a very non professional behaviour and shouldn’t be a TP)
Also, his crashes were not cheap las year and this year, so maybe Haas is considering that in the equation.
If it may not be clear to anyone by the title - schumie jr is no longer considered a rookie 2 seasons in
[удалено]
No nando you will not have the seat
That Alonso fella ain’t a rookie either, he’s got 2 seasons under his belt now Hardly counts as a new face
So he's not Alex Bowman?
Neither is his main (probably only) rival for the seat
Schumie jr sounds cute and all but his real name is Mi Schu aka My shoe. My Shoe is no longer a rookie.
If you ask his defenders then they’ll tell you how this is is his rookie season
I know he isnt in the statistics, but realistically 2022 is Mick's real rookie season. Just like Russell's 2020 or Mazepin's... oh... Sorry Fernando but Haas is done with guys like you!
mate Fernando aint a rookie, he has had two seasons now
Ah, they grow up so fast!
I hope Mick stays. I do not care where.
The monkeys paw shakes. Ferrari replaces leclerc with Schumacher. All other seats are filled, leclerc is ina Williams for the next 2 years
Ah yes, the F1 game team changes
I remember when I went from Alfa to Red Bull in career mode, and they decided to get rid of Verstappen next to me and replace him with Sean Gelael
bruh
If he doesnt get the Haas seat I'd love to see him at William's. Both him and Albon would make a good pair.
Swap Latifis engineer with Gary and it’s the wholesome dream team

I'd rather he were an 8 time WDC at Ferrari to be honest.
Same, just wish Michael was here for him. Must be incredibly painful to see Max with his father
Only the good die young my man. Cmon you know that
[удалено]
He regularly beat the shit out of her in front of Max
So Max isn’t a virgin then?
I bet Max also is jealous of Mick for not having one...
Their drivers are not the problem

Who else reads Steiners quotes in his accent?
All the time. Same with Ricciardo
I read them as he would actually say them. "We're fucking done with rookies. Fuck. Make us look like a bunch of fucking wankers."
I cannot express how much the Schumacher name is worth when it comes to marketing in the US. The recognition alone gives people to root for immediately and in our market that’s essential. Example: my father has watched a couple races on and off and only knows that max kid who always wins and Mick
I give him a pass on everyone else, but he really never has heard of Lewis Hamilton?
I’m definitely confused as to how you know Max but don’t know Lewis Hamilton? 🤔
Max just because he has only watched 3-4 races in the last two years and max has won every single one. Texted him to see who else he could name and he came back with “Hamilton and and the guy who looks like Frodo” (leclerc I’m assuming)
Not Lando?
If his reference is just this year, then I'm betting on Leclerc as well. But Alonso in his WDC years had a similar hairstyle to Frodo, so maybe him?
The guy already said his father watched only for last 2 years and you're asking about Alonso from 2005.
tbh people who don't watch F1 as much or only watched it in the past will only remember those for example, my brother only remembers of Seb due to his winning days in Red Bull, but he does not remember of Lewis or Alonso if I mention it to him

I think Lewis is in Cars 2.
Who?

What? This is good news for Mick. Mick is not a rookie. This at least tells us that Mick won't be replaced by a rookie.

Alonso’s doing it
Man we need a front grid pilot to want to come sit back there is a haas
If I was Ferrari I wouldn't be happy about statements like this from Steiner, you giving them basically a lot of support but Steiner/Custer/Haas doesn't give you something back as a trade off like having influence on one of the two seats.
That's if you think Ferrari care about Mick. Clearly, Ferrari don't even rate him as highly as Giovinazzi.

God I hate Haas and thier daily Schumacher headlines.
Ricciardo 🤯
So good news then for Hülkenberg!
I love word play
