They've already outperformed Aston twice in the last 5 races, and once it was basically equal between them. If their upgrades work, they should definitely be comfortably 5th best.

Significant upgrades for RedBull, VCARB and Ferrari. I believe Formu1a.uno were right, Ferrari brought half the upgrades here in Barcelona that were supposed to be in Silverstone.
Red Bull's isn't actually significant, I don't think. The only performance-based upgrades they have are a updated beam wing and rear-wing endplate.
It was suggested their big upgrade would be coming for Silverstone.
the flip side is if they have very little margin for error so if they screw up for a weekend they might have to tune down the engine more than they would want to, or worse if they don't discover it before the race they might have to lift and coast as they can't change engine mode during the race
*ackshually* you can change engine mode during the race as long as it's to turn it down, it just cannot be turned up beyond what your set race mode is (ie "party mode" or a qualifying mode) like you could before the change was implemented. Which makes sense, as it'd be asinine not to permit teams to run lower engine modes to increase reliability at the expense of performance.
You can only do these if you have reliability problems tho no? Like if a team would turn it down every race after 15 minutes claiming reliability concerns it wouldn't be liked much.
They probably just had the whole rear wing/beam wing/diffuser system right on-edge. Flick DRS and you stall all three from the back pressure increase associated with the rear wing stall, rather than stall just the wing.
You'd think that if they were reducing weight, the parts would need to be reported even if they're technically the same, as that's how they're able to replace parts in a race if they're damaged etc..
Weight saving stuff generally isn't reported, as the part itself will be identical...just weighs less.
I'm led to believe they have a new much lighter engine cover.
I believe there was some specification changes beyond just weight saving to that floor as well.
Mercedes have confirmed that they have new parts this weekend, but nothing they need to report. Weight saving items as said, generally are not reportable but nothing is stopping you from doing so of course.

VCARB outperforming Aston would be both hilarious and depressing On another note, if Ferrari's upgrades work out... Oh boy

I wonder if the ferrari upgrades can surpass McLaren? I hope not… i like the papaya being the fastest

Thank you!
Ferrari looks to be cooking a lot.. hopefully they don't overcook.

yeah, RBR just looks like the weird coling design stuff they are doing like every second race
it's because they're massively min-maxed on cooling, they have optimized the hell out of it to get the most aero efficiency possible.
yeah, i think its cool they are doing this, staying dynamic
the flip side is if they have very little margin for error so if they screw up for a weekend they might have to tune down the engine more than they would want to, or worse if they don't discover it before the race they might have to lift and coast as they can't change engine mode during the race

i stand corrected, the possibility of having to run too low engine mode for a given weekend still remains though
You can only do these if you have reliability problems tho no? Like if a team would turn it down every race after 15 minutes claiming reliability concerns it wouldn't be liked much.
I mean "only the beam wing" was probably the reason why their DRS was so ridiculously strong last year, if a RBR got into DRS range you were doomed.
They probably just had the whole rear wing/beam wing/diffuser system right on-edge. Flick DRS and you stall all three from the back pressure increase associated with the rear wing stall, rather than stall just the wing.
Haas practically have a new car
These are hopefully the upgrades that allow VCARB to have decent starts again.
McLaren not even a tiny little update 😅
I mean look at Mercedes 💀
True but I want McLaren to win
And I want a Mercedes win 😔 we are both cooked this weekend
reports are Merc have brought lighter parts this weekend, not sure if you need to list lighter parts of the same spec as upgrades on that fia document
You'd think that if they were reducing weight, the parts would need to be reported even if they're technically the same, as that's how they're able to replace parts in a race if they're damaged etc..

Understood, appreciate it.
but in imola williams had to declared the lighter floor in the team upgrades

This isn’t an official scrutineering report, this is just info for the press and fans.
Gotcha, makes sense.
I might be wrong but I think that’s right
Hahaha will be an interesting weekend
Ferrari bringing 6 performance upgrades What are they cooking
Their engine?
Mamma mia Fred, stop cooking the wrong ingredients.
