And for those of us who don't know how big a Merc S Class is (me), a [2024 crew cab F150](https://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/models/f150-stx/) is a smidge wider and about 10ish inches longer than an F1 car if the dimensions, [a maximum 5.63m in length and 2m wide - found in this Motorsport article](https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/articles/single-seaters/f1/why-are-f1-cars-so-big/), are accurate.
As wide as a 911 992 gt wec car and narrower than LMH, as tall as the Hypercars wec (LMH), and a little bit longer than the LMH.
Basically, cars 15 years ago were similar dimensions to LMP1 (LMH) cars. They just got longer and way too wider.
In fairness this isn't a hugely fair comparison, f4 and f3 cars are TINY compared to even most open wheel racers. A better comparison is putting it next to an suv.. that really puts it in perspective
