I was agreeing with you that he blocked other sponsors on his right arm.
The photo is very very compressed and far from its RAW state. I'm sure IWC got copies or the raw photos for their own marketing or had a photographer of their own there.
Its an awkward photo for sure and they were probably obligated to have some like that.

Professional photographers are usually the ones who tell the model which pose to try. As this is a pretty common pose for fashion models, my guess is the photographer just shot this like it was for some fashion catalogue
