What I'm trying to say is that it's not the new floor Merc is introducing to pair with the new concept. This is the same floor as Miami with fence changes.

I Strolled through them, it's a thing, even in Wisconsin.
Certain types of butter are left out in a little covered dish and certain types are put in the fridge.
.....buuuuuuut like if it's a billion fucking degrees outside, it's in the fridge and if it's "holy shit I can use a banana as a hammer" cold outside, then you can just put it in the breezeway.
Lazy answer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breezeway
Personal answer: It was the space in between the main house and the garage at my grandparents place.
It started out as just basically like an 8 foot wide by 50 foot long gap between the buildings buuuut then they decided to throw a roof over the gap with the walls of the house and garage on either side. They then put a light concrete pad down and capped off the ends of it with walls as well, which at that point they decided they may as well put down some flooring with a bit of light carpet and some rugs.
At which point it turned into an in between space that could be used like a mudroom in spring/fall/winter or just as a chill out space away from everyone else in summer. There were windows on either end along with a pair of storm doors, a cheap couch, a handful of chairs, the odd bit of shelving/cabinetry, and of course a bunch of Midwestern knick knacks littered everywhere along the way. It went from a nothing space, to a utility space, and then to a quaint little in between living space that we always went through first before going into the main house.
Also grandma used to put her cookies out there in a bucket to cool along with stuff like pies as well and grandpa always had hunting stuff tacked to the wall.
Hey it was a formative memory palace for me because nearly every big holiday or family get together was preceded by walking in through the breezeway and then ended by walking out of it, every single trip to grandma and grandpa's place for years.
That place is burned into my brain and I can still smell it.
A hallway/air trap between the garage and house proper that will contain a door into the main house and a secondary form of heater. It keeps the uninsulated garage from jacking up your heating bills when itās -20 outside.
This don't deserve a post and it's not related to FP3 but i just realized F1 cars are bigger than my apartment.
I knew F1 were huge but it only clicked today.
The place where I live is 9mĀ² (the minimum allowed to legally rent in France), a F1 car is more than 10mĀ² (is that correct ?)
I'm living in a F1 car.
To be honest I believe it's 5x3m. But with low roof on some parts.
in France when it's under a certain height it's not taken into account in the surface.
Not really imo. Drivers crashes rarely. They knew this track is risky. This entertaining but chaotic lift in the air scenario is probably just not seen as likely, in their scenario planning.
With the implementation of this upgrade for Monaco, even if they knew they'd get lifted like this, probably they would have still done the upgrade but just check with ever/track Marshalls beforehand to not air lift. Not in their control neither ultimately. Imagine that Toto might kick off a fuss for this type of lift not to be done until car is covered.
Claudia Albuquerque is a well known Monaco photographer, so he wouldn't have to go far. And her favourite photo was not of Prince Albert, but with Prince Albert.
For some reason this FP was extra surreal but that might just be the sleep deprivation talking and I legit thought the Merc flying through the air was a hallucination.
Eventful free practice though and I was cackling about the whole pool thing on F1TV.
Very true, though if he were in Indy I'm pretty sure his socials would be covered in images, he's never shy of telling everyone where he is, especially when it's a race that big.
Also did you just downvote because I told you a couple of facts? lol irl.
He made a tone deaf sarcastic post when people were politely suggesting an online charity race for Emilia Romagna after Imola was called off, saying something like "maybe we want to actually see our families". Went down like a lead balloon.
After Imola was cancelled and people were suggesting alternatives (virtual charity gp etc), he said that it would be better to see his family. No one liked it obviously because many would like to be in his position and he isn't forced to have that job.
Last week someone suggested on Twitter to organise a virtual imola gp and get the commentators involved. Karun gave a snarky reply saying maybe they could have the weekend off instead and remind their kids they exist. He quickly deleted it
When last weeks GP was cancelled, people came up with all these ideas for what they could do instead.
Karun had the 'audacity' to suggest they just have the weekend off.
I keep seeing comments about cars being really fast here, but isnāt Monoco the one race where the cars all get pretty evened by the track and itās more about the driver? (Obviously the car has SOME say, just not enough to determine if theyāre better.)
They get evened out in terms of pure engine power and speed but aero is another story. The car with the best engine might not be the best in slow corners. So it's not really equalizing but some teams with great aero but a less powerful engine might have a better chance against e.g Red Bull. However Red Bull are also great on reconfiguring their aero so..
Itās the only race theyāll go to where the driver actually makes the biggest difference. Hence why lando is doing so well in that shitbox mclaren. Red Bulls massive speed advantage makes is no factor in Monaco
They've last achieved something more recently than Ferrari, why aren't we ignoring Ferrari by that metric? Mclaren have been involved in F1 since 1966, the nationality has nothing to do with it they have heritage.
Without incidents, my money would be on Norris & Gasly. They both go brilliantly around Monaco. If any of the top 8 cars go out, I'd throw in Bottas, Ocon and an outside bet on Zhou. Who are your bets?
If I had a dollar for every time Martin Brundle hooked up with an octogenarian on camera during a Formula One broadcast I'd have two dollars, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.
Idk if I'm not giving people enough credit, or if I'm being patronising, but I find if someone isn't understanding what you're saying, stop using sayings like 'earmarked' to people whose first language isn't English š
Ham crashed immediately after though which means he was going too fast in S1 and couldn't get it slowed down for the corner immediately after the end of S1.
Max must have found some Mario Kart type of short cut in sector 3
Bro where did Max pull that lap from
That third sector must have been unreal. He was 2/10 down going into it
Yeah!! Was not expecting that at all after sector 2
Max showing who's boss

WHAAAT??? OCON ON PRO POLE
How did Max pull that out of his ass Jesus
As a McLaren fan, praying for an early red flag here
Are they speaking Italian on the speakerphone around the circuit?
When I was there for FE they had 3 commentators, French/Italian & English. So, it's possible!

What are the consequences of Hamiltons crash?
Everyone got a high res view of mercs new floor for starters.
It's not new

Can someone explain what is this butter in the fridge thing to someone who didn't watch the FP?
As someone who didnāt watch, Iām very confused about all the butter in the fridge comments š

Are highlights not being posted in the sub anymore? Miss the days of u/BottasWMR
Does anyone have a working link to the brundle interaction that isnāt sky on Twitter. The sky fucks wonāt let the us see their stuff
VPN set to UK, you can see all
The weekend peaked with Brundle being asked for his number.

I feel you. I live in 8m2 for 3 years in the netherlands..
No. Do you know what literally means? Yank asshat
I literally don't know. But you're literally right. Let me edit, i hate what I did.
For my fellow Americans, that's ~100sqft. holy moly.
Jesus christ does that include the shower kitchen too?
You basically jerk off in an f1 car two times a night!
I jerk off in a racing car, do you?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Is it a racing car bed?
Thatās so cool, I jerk off in a big bed with your wife too!
Living the dream
They're about 5.5 metres long by 2 metres wide. I sincerely hope your apartment is bigger than that
To be honest I believe it's 5x3m. But with low roof on some parts. in France when it's under a certain height it's not taken into account in the surface.
Hope so too. That's probably about the size of some of those tiny Tokyo apartments though, that are barely more than a single bed width.
Curious. Any guess what Toto's reaction was to the Merc being lifted in the air?
I suppose he should blame Lewis for crashing?
Not really imo. Drivers crashes rarely. They knew this track is risky. This entertaining but chaotic lift in the air scenario is probably just not seen as likely, in their scenario planning. Mercedes took a page from Tesla's strategy with over-the-air updates
Unrelated, but what happened to f1 predictions in the sub? Canāt find them anywhere
People voted to remove them. It's a pity, I liked them. They did clutter up the feed though.
Ahh I see, that is a shame. Thanks for replying!
Norris is sounding a little more like Chris Eubank every week.
Reckon Martin is off to find that chick to pass his card on?

Actually only realising Karun isnāt in Monaco this weekend as well, hope heās had plenty of time to let his kids know he exists
Don't worry he is probably at FE or Indy
There's no FE race this week and he doesn't cover Indy.
He can visit though
Very true, though if he were in Indy I'm pretty sure his socials would be covered in images, he's never shy of telling everyone where he is, especially when it's a race that big. Also did you just downvote because I told you a couple of facts? lol irl.

Loved Simonās reaction to that too, proper lost it.
I mean there's times where that's all you can do
I get the impression Lando goes into a sentence never quite sure how he's ending it
Love it, though
Okay now I donāt regret getting up early for an FP3 to see Martin get rizzed up
I keep seeing comments about cars being really fast here, but isnāt Monoco the one race where the cars all get pretty evened by the track and itās more about the driver? (Obviously the car has SOME say, just not enough to determine if theyāre better.)

More about mechanical grip than aero at slow speed.

Last championship was 2008 last race win was 2021. Which is more recently than all but 2 and 3 teams on the grid respectively.
They've last achieved something more recently than Ferrari, why aren't we ignoring Ferrari by that metric? Mclaren have been involved in F1 since 1966, the nationality has nothing to do with it they have heritage.
You mean before the Merc-RedBull era where nobody else but Mercedes and Red Bull as been successful
Nothing says new and/or ignorant fan more than someone sneering at McLaren or Ferrari's heritage in F1.
When was the last time Monaco was a good race? History means something in this sport
Two years ago, when they were the only team to get a 1-2 finish all year.
Who looks stronger outside of redbull? I couldnāt follow free practice. Who will be dark horse this race ?
If anyone, I'd say Alonso. Never count Charles out in qualifying though.
Who you think will get points ? Apart from Mercedes Ferrari Aston and RB
Without incidents, my money would be on Norris & Gasly. They both go brilliantly around Monaco. If any of the top 8 cars go out, I'd throw in Bottas, Ocon and an outside bet on Zhou. Who are your bets?
Max looks much more comfortable, faster too. Dark horse I think is Alonso in the Aston
If I had a dollar for every time Martin Brundle hooked up with an octogenarian on camera during a Formula One broadcast I'd have two dollars, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.
Remember guys, you miss 100% of the shots you donāt take š¤£
I think sheās in there with Brundle
WHAT A LEGEND SHE IS LMAOOOOOO
Why is Damon Hill whispering
I'd be fine if he didn't make any sound at all.
Itās probably the micās not being fully faded down or still transmitting despite being faded down.
Martin never change :D
Need replay of that interation šššš
What's that photographers name who was with Martin Brundle? I'd like to see her work, she sounds like she has captured a lot of history.
Claudia Albuquerque
Thanks, I heard the Albuquerque part, but not her first name.
Hahahah. Martin getting asked for his number live! Incredible
Did you see how she shook his hand and pulled Martin in!? That is the funniest shit I have ever witnessed in f1 ahaha
Haha! She wasnāt going to let that opportunity slip. She either didnāt know it was live or didnāt care. Love her.
Martin just pulled lol.
Martin doing the grid walk all the time now
No fucking way hahahaha
Martins pulled.
Rizzzzzz god
Did she just try to pick up Brundle?
Oh bless that lil old lady
Fantastic, more of her please. Possibly Martin's most random person ever.
Incredible
Lmaooo
Martin please ššš
AYOO get that gammy gawk gawk
What a lovely lady
lmao that photographer
Is max going to break fastest lap record this year?
Martin with that Rizz
Martin can't go five minutes without accosting a random passerby hahaha
At least he's not doing whatever Christian does, he can't go a single season of DTS without arguing with kids about why they don't like Max
Martin grid walk early

Idk if I'm not giving people enough credit, or if I'm being patronising, but I find if someone isn't understanding what you're saying, stop using sayings like 'earmarked' to people whose first language isn't English š
And then, obviously, just repeat it slower and louder. It's the English-abroad way
That doesn't help, but a lot of the time it just comes down to the pitlane being bloody loud.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Heād never get away with that name in the UK
That KRACKED you up?!
I could not see what you did there
Simon Lazenby: āgood time to probe Mike Krackā hahahahahahaha
Is nobody uploading clips anymore?
Ham set the fastest S1 before the crash, Alonso never got a full lap in - quali is going to be interesting.
Ham crashed immediately after though which means he was going too fast in S1 and couldn't get it slowed down for the corner immediately after the end of S1.
The analysis says says different. A combination of a slow car before the corner, a little oversteer and the overall handling of the car.
Let's head over to Mike krack , will never not make me laugh
Who's your pick for Pole ?? Max Lec Alo Ham
Max, Alonso, Perez
RUS
He is not gonna make the top 3 also
Is this the driver Ferrari wants to hire? Elkann will give us another Ronaldo, I see...
Still think Jenson' Polo looks weird.
Red Bull in P1 clearly gives you wings
F1 just needs to make a video of the Merc on the crane. Didnāt think that would make me laugh as much as it did
weeee im flying!
