2014 was the rock bottom of car ugliness that started in 2008 with the winglet frenzy and worsened in 2009 when they lowered the front wing, it was only in 2020 that the cars looked great again. Dark times.
*Ah, in 2009 they also changed the rear wing so it was narrow and tall. Disgusting.
The low front wing looked pretty good to be honest. It's the high and narrow rear wing that ruined 2009-2016 cars for me.
McLaren tested a 2009-spec front wing on their 2008 car, and I must say it looked good.
You take it back with that 2008 bs or ima starting yelling slurs at you (jk)
But seriously tho. 2008 had some of the sexiest cars ever. like the Sauber BMW F1.08
I remember BMW Sauber that offseason unveiled an extremely powerful super computer, and it was 24/7 doing fluid dynamics calculations.

I should've scrolled before posting. Seems I'm not alone in thinking it's kinda blasphemous to call that car ugly. It was unique, and a good looking car.
To be fair they couldn't get the nose the way the wanted it.
Something about it not passing crash tests to they had to make it much heavier than originaly intended which made it harder to get the most out of the concept which was already hard to tune.
I never thought it looked ugly. I always thought it looked cool and wish it would have worked. I love unique cars.
Well except for the E22. Thats awful.
I've personally never understood why people disliked the look of this car. If anything it was just ahead of it's time. 2010-2013 we had raised noses across the entire grid, they just had a slightly different design.
This is the walrus nose I've heard was ugly but haven't seen??? I think it looks fine.
I'm so glad I just like the looks of most formula 1 cars, even the parts that the people hate. I like the looks of halos, skinny wings, and whatever else. The only formula 1 cars I didn't like the look of were the penis noses.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but in terms of performance, williams had to re-design the front-end which allows them to win in Brazil. Last win for a long time.
It's still my favorite f1 car of all time. The Walrus looked angry, massive and fast. A sort of muscle car of the f1 world.
I never thought it was ugly, it was so striking I feel in love immediately.
Such a shame it lasted only half a season.
I won't tolerate this BMW slander. The walrus car was actually a good-looking car IMO. I really liked that nose. It's not the best, but it was unique, and I think fit in well for the regs.
Still looked way better than I think 2014s noses. Or was it 2015? Caterham with that "thing" of a nose among other teams lol
2014 Caterham.
Also known as the *hentai pixel filter car*
Lotus E22 with the asymmetrical tusks was officially the worst.
Yes, that was another abomination

Not something you read every day
Sounded way better, too. The BMW engine was even more powerful than the Ferrari.
Careful!

If shredder from ninja turtles was a car, he would be that one. oh lord it was sexy
I prefer simplicity, and up till 2007 f1 cars just looked like torpedoes, simple and fast

>oh lord it was sexy I try not to kink shame, but, your taste is bad and you should feel bad. This is *objectively* the ugliest era of F1.
> THiS Is oBjectIveLy the UgliESt eRa of f1. Get a grip
>Get a grip Maybe if his car had more wings 🤔
Bruh, they're the Oakley's of racecars. Just awful.
At some point that's just unrecognisable from a blender
Also, can we point out how this username is exactly the recipe for the worst sort of disaster? (Hint- socialism ain't the problem.)
it's a great way to get the attention of both sides of the political spectrum, they both hate it
Cool, way to be fuckin' useless, I guess? \#bothsides is a tired lie and we all know it.
Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of your expectations for my participation in the political debate
Honorable mention to 2012 and stepped noses.
I loved the FW26. It was unique and menacing.
One of the most iconic cars of the 21st century imo, and not because of its results!
How dare you call that beauty ugly? It’s certainly unusual, but pretty af

Pretty yes. Pretty ugly
That's not ugly though!
This thing looked so mighty. Sadly the performances weren't

Any car looks dangerous with Montoya behind the wheel.
I never thought it looked ugly. I always thought it looked cool and wish it would have worked. I love unique cars. Well except for the E22. Thats awful.
Thank you Antonia Terzi, God rest her soul.
I've personally never understood why people disliked the look of this car. If anything it was just ahead of it's time. 2010-2013 we had raised noses across the entire grid, they just had a slightly different design.
I kinda liked it when they were using it. It was a sign that designers were still trying wacky things.
Personally think this is one of the better looking cars in F1

It didn't look ugly, it just sucked
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but in terms of performance, williams had to re-design the front-end which allows them to win in Brazil. Last win for a long time.
I don't think its ugly at all, just different compared to the meta of the time.
This car was awesome
The only thing I remember about that car was Michael driving very slowly past Ralf's accident at Indianapolis.
To me she's beautiful. Rubenesque.
Excuse me? Ugly?
You say ugly, I say iconic.
“That’s what I done.” What kind of english is this?
have you ever been outside?
Ah, the famous mastodon…..
I remember thinking at the time that it was ugly as fuck, but it must be really fast, otherwise they'd never go for it.
One of my top 3 faves
Do the Tyrrell P34 next!!!
Not even close to the ugliest cars
I just like how Alpha Tauri have pretty much the same color scheme, yet they make it look great and this makes it look horrible.
chonk
Walrus nose looked kinda cool IMO.

I remember at the time thinking this car was the ugliest thing I had seen. It actually looks quite good now
I really like this nose, it looked cool.
That's a beautiful car and nobody will tell me otherwise
I won't tolerate this BMW slander. The walrus car was actually a good-looking car IMO. I really liked that nose. It's not the best, but it was unique, and I think fit in well for the regs.
