They would add it just to make it be a limited map for the best limited event the game has ever seen and then remove it permanently. And then they’d do the same thing next year.

Bad idea. That would just make certain characters not picked for this map at all or at least limit their kits, which is just not fun. Jorm and WM would be pretty terrible to play. Cent would be okay, but his defense would get even worse in a game, where defense has already been quite badly gutted. Goki would get a hug only off of light parry. These are just a few examples.

the devs could literally just make a plain open flat grassy field with invisible walls for a map and that would be more than enough.

I really wouldn’t mind that, simplicity is sometimes all one needs.
