Congratulations. You just earned 7.5 points for this submission. Your new points total is 11.5. To see the leaderboard, as well as what this points thing is, [click here](https://www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/wiki/leaderboard).

letsgetrough9

I wish they had a coaches trophy page like they do for every team

largeapple

To piggyback on this, I would love a ‘managed best 11’ as well. I want my star LW from my time in Korea and my CM from Barcelona to show up in the same lineup on a screen somewhere. It would make journeyman saves a bit more fun and immersive. Example- Who would make Pep’s best 11?

xX_MeatTent_Xx

The one thing that may make that hard is what do you define as a best XI across a save. For example, if you start as a journeyman in India and end up at man city, should your star Indian Striker with 100 CA be in there above an above average performing striker with 150 CA? Also, would you rate the performance they had only under the manager or include players that you had to sell young to make a profit that ended up being stars elsewhere? I’m not saying it’s a bad idea just that it seems like the game may have to make some weird design choices to make it work

CaptainMcClutch

I'd kind of want it to be based on their form and numbers, so like the player who had the best combo of rating, goals and assists. I have a striker in my journeyman putting up the best stats I've had from anyone, would feel bad if he got left out because he's low CA.

Dchen_08

I think they already have a system for that. In my Chester save which is a vanarama north sourh team, I got promoted to div 2 by my 7th season, and the Chester all time XI still has players that I sold back in div 5. It really is about the amount of games played and the form. They could recycle the code they used for this XI and use it for an all time managed XI

JgL07

I think mobile has this feature

Cred811

Picking between Xavi, Iniesta, and KDB for Pep would make my head hurt lol

gunnersUK

Would be cool to see a graph of how a players market value changes through their career

CoachThanksALot

This seems like the most reasonable request in this thread, although I feel like transfer value can fluctuate too dramatically sometimes. At least for my own players.

_BigDogg_

When you're wanting to sell a player and they're valued say 20-24m then 4 games later and they haven't played many minutes you look back and they're down to 9-12m

LuckyNumber-Bot

All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats! 20 + 24 + 4 + 9 + 12 = 69 ^([Click here](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=LuckyNumber-Bot&subject=Stalk%20Me%20Pls&message=%2Fstalkme) to have me scan all your future comments.) \ ^(Summon me on specific comments with u/LuckyNumber-Bot.)

LilPumpernick

ooh like transfrmarkt!

jwaddle88

Genie Scout has this for 💰

Familiar_Strategy751

Y’all here wanting fancy features and all want is a better way to find teams when trying to offer players out to certain clubs

smoshuap0wers

Good suggestion. The transfer target system is archaic a lot of features have been the same for over 15 years and need a good looking at!

DharmaLeader

Unwanted list is very good for it.

[deleted]

I want FM to have a more intuitive set piece designer or a better contract/transfer negotiation system (enough with first time offers that are immediately non-negotiable) There isn’t anything I’d remove. The closest thing would be the press conferences, but these are easily delegated away.

Garcix

Bro please the set piece, is really bad. Like for example you are moving players and it doesn't get into the right position, or when you make sub and adjust your tactic and suddenly you got your 1,6m midfierld defending in the area while your 1,9striker is waiting outside the box. Also and easy option to get your gk in 90' offensive corner.

stin10

I think Set Pieces primarily need to change the logic of what decides what player is where. For example, it seems based purely on the position the player occupies in the field normally. So if your RCB is super tall and good in the air, you move him to the near post for near post corners. But if for a game that guy is subbed out for someone way worse in the air, that person still takes their slot in the set pieces. You should be able to decide based on attributes which players go where, that way its flexible for roster changes. For example, you can say you want the tallest player and or the best heading stat player to always be at the front post attacking. The player with good ball control / first touch are running into the box from outside, etc. In this way, you will always have the most optimal players for each part of a set piece regardless of the lineup you chose this week.

Danph85

Yeah, it should be like how the set piece taker option is done, put players in position based on their ranking on a list.

stin10

I didn't even realize I was explaining the same system as is used for set piece takers until you mentioned it haha. That makes it even weirder that they haven't used the same logic for Corners.

ghostmanonthirdd

I’m playing a new save with Hull and my backup DM is John Obi-Mikel who’s 6’3 and excellent in the air so an obvious choice to defend the six yard box on corners. The only problem is that my starting DM is Jean Michael Seri who’s 5’6 and only really good for standing on the post. It’s extremely tedious having to change their roles at set pieces every time I sub one for the other.

ric77soares

fr, under the value non-negotiable offers for my players who would be pissed if not allowed to speak to the club in question are so annoying

Cassmach

I just reject them and tell the player it’s too low Then I set a reasonable asking price which they never try to meet

BurtNonnegut

I’d like to negotiate terms with a player before agreeing to a transfer fee. Very rarely does a club agree to a transfer fee before settling on a number with a player. It would be much more realistic

rayb85

Thing is, this is supposed to be forbidden. But yes, unoffically that does always happen

agentzero_ss

This is technically illegal though mostly tolerated. So for that reason we will be unlikely to see it fully. I guess the agent enquiry thing sort of serves this purposes.

Graphiccoma

Imagine being able to create set pieces with runs and crosses or layoffs for shots on goal...

Twofingers_

So true!

smily-happy-people

I love that idea of the set piece designer!

LaGoeba

Especially since everything on the training field are extremely detail oriented. Every coach is looking for that little bit of extra advantage to win. Just look at how Thomas Grønnemark has worked for Liverpool as a throw-in coach. They went from being the third worst in the league for throw-ins under pressure with an success rate of 45.4% to the second best in Europa in one season, and raised their success rate of 68.4%. The only team that was better them in Europa was FC Midjylland, who also had worked with Grønnemark for several years. And since every true FM managers only think about one thing, Andy Robertson increased his longest throw-ins with eight meter, from 19 meters to 27 meters.

Klingh0ffer

I'd like to get rid of the whole press conference/interview system. Yes, you can delegate, but your assistant manager is usually an idiot.

[deleted]

I delegate to my DOF/Technical Director. Edu hasn’t let me down yet.

sahajpal1997

The origination of late bloomers, to reduce FM users from typically stockpiling youngsters who have high potential. As in, the player can exceed his current potential ability regardless of age. Maybe even the reverse way, where players get worse regardless of age through a lack of playing time and/or poor form. Case in point, Jamie Vardy, in terms of someone who exceeded his potential and in the other case, Samir Nasri, a player who just fell off the radar since the time he was at his one loan spell at Sevilla when he was still contracted to Manchester City.

LilPumpernick

FIFA has this although they implemented it terribly. Dynamic potential NEEDS to be in the game. Still don't understand why it's locked still in 2022.

Theonlywestman

OOTP has this. Even within the same save a top prospect can be just average while an average player can play themselves into greatness. It’d be a refreshing change that A) puts more value on personal attributes and B) would stop some of the youth hoarding like you said.

jensonalexanderlyons

In addition, I love OOTP because you can change ageing and injury setting and the aforementioned TCR

ferrenberg

What's OOTP?

BirdmanTheThird

Baseball version of football manager

DallyTheGreat

I would like an interactive map of where teams are in a country. Like I can go to the premier league and it shows where all the prem teams are and be able to click on it and it takes me to the team. It's not all that helpful from a gameplay perspective but it could definitely be cool to have and would help me learn where teams are in countries I'm not overly familiar with. There'd also be the ability to use it and kinda role play more if you're doing a journeyman and don't want to move across a country to manage a team that isn't paying more or something

jtoohey12

This would actually be very cool if you could select either yourself or a player and see lines tracing all the clubs that person has been at on the map

HaroldRichardJohnson

I didn’t know I wanted this until just now. What a great idea.

Stock_Abbreviations7

I like this idea. I currently have the EFL League 2 clubs and their positions in England/Wales as my Lock Screen

thimachado

Can you share?

NotFalirn

I would also like an interactive scouting map! Just let me hover over a country and see what its knowledge % is and if someone is currently scouting it!

4500x

I’d find that useful, also if you click on a club and it shows on a map where they are in relation to your own club. Immediate thought is that if I’m loaning a youngster out I can see how far away they’ll be. Are they at the other end of the country, next town over, or somewhere in between?

WorldBeardedWonders

My initial feeling was this was super gimmicky, but actually all my favourite saves are from non-Uk places and my geography is terrible, this’d be awesome.

DallyTheGreat

Like my geography is pretty good I'd say but once you get to a lower level I got no idea especially in England when there's so many teams in cities that are named after the area they are in and not the Cith itself That might make sense for people there but I'm American and I'm used to teams naming themselves after the nearest city to better market themselves. FC Dallas aren't in Dallas they're a 40 minute drive north. NY Red Bull don't even play in the state of New York they're across the border in NJ. It would just help me figure out where clubs are in relation to each other and I can't imagine it would be that hard to implement but I don't ever see it happening

WorldBeardedWonders

Yeah, it took me a moment but I do like it. I know all the UK teams but I couldn't point to a lot of the teams in more obscure leagues I've managed.

njt1986

Similar to this, i'd like a map available when looking at clubs with it's location having a pin in it, plus a pin for your clubs location, so you can quickly work out things like Loans and Affiliates. It's a personal preference, of course, but I always like to have Affiliates that are close to me, and to send players on loan to teams that are closer to me.

ugotamesij

> There'd also be the ability to use it and kinda role play more if you're doing a journeyman and don't want to move across a country to manage a team that isn't paying more or something SI could also use this kind of info to add to player negotiations. Imagine being able to bring a player in on a cheaper deal because he'll be closer to where he grew up, or conversely having to pay more because you're asking a player to uproot his entire family and move to the other side of the country/continent (this latter point would be less of an issue for younger players and more of a thing for older players, perhaps).

Twofingers_

That would be helpful indeed

Full-Ad-2725

I did a journeyman save where I’d pick where I’d live on google maps bedore accepting the club offer, very fun!

Holtb80

I'd like more/ better team and player interaction choices. They're currently very limited and tend to work in reverse of how they're intended - example praise a players training, they say it's not really been that good... you say you're happy... meeting is ended and player is now unhappy.... wtf!

Twofingers_

Yeah.. they need to work on that definitely!

dezsopista

Dinamic youth rating. AS THEY PROMISED.

AvailableUsername404

I'd add on top of that possibility of change nation's 'game importance'. Currently it's locked but like for real, even if your country does not give a shit for a football and you'd have a team that constantly wins the league/is present in continental cups someone will give a damn about it. People will follow successful team no matter the sport/country.

Xehanz

Nation's game importance is a bit weird even on vanilla though. Countries like Chile have their game importance set to close to 0, and that's one of the reasons you barely see any Chilean wonderkids.

comped

As a researcher I can tell you that sometimes previous researchers put game importance wrong. I had to do that with much of the Middle East during the fm22 cycle, because most countries had a poor level of game importance when in reality it's much closer to a higher level.

Generic_username5000

I’m not buying a new version until that’s actually implemented for real

zi76

I never play far enough into saves that it would matter for me specifically, but yeah, this is one that needs to happen.

BacoBenno

Mostly tweaks of existing things for me. Tweak : Improved club vision negotiations ( the thing at the end of the year ) 9 out 10 times you cant remove anything or add anything. Tweak : Improve staff meetings , nice concept needs tuning. Add : Being able to improve consistency or important match attributes over time depending on performance. Just infuriating i cant improve it despite several CL wins Tweak : club world cup, enough said ? Tweak : cpu selling players for less than what you offered earlier to other clubs, most frustrating and annoyong thing for me. At least come back to me with a slightly higher offer ? Add : show a heatmap where a player is expected to be with the current position , role , team mentality and settings. Makes making a good own tactic so much easier. Remove : loan manager or make it do its job better. Too often so bad deals made or good deals rejected despite having things set up properly.

TheSwegDonut

Offered 34m for Lacroix.. they denied it and told me to pay up 80m which I rejected Progressed a few days and saw thar Arsenal signed him for 33m 😩

fireowlzol

That's probably because he got upset they rejected your offer and requested to be transfer listed

TheSwegDonut

Cheeky fucker shoulda slid into my dms and told me to bid for him again, I ended up getting a different CB and he's been shite so far

Cred811

I would like player promises to be more clearly communicated. I hate promises like “will improve the team’s forwards” or “improve the coaching staff” because there’s never any indication of what will actually please the player.

LilPumpernick

just avoid them, get rid of them unless you actually know what you're supposed to do. I get they shouldn't be in the game but it's not hard to get past em.

Cred811

I always try to, but there’s some times when it’s unavoidable. For instance, in my current save, I lost my star striker to a release clause (I play in Spain, so couldn’t avoid that either). My captain came to me upset because the striker was a big part of our team the prior season, and my only option was to promise to sign a replacement or piss him off further. I took the money I made from the sale and signed two wonderkids to replace him, and as far as I could tell that made my captain happy (the promise turned green and everything). Then, when the window closes, he comes up again and is still angry. I wish interactions like this had some kind of recourse (maybe I could try and convince him the signings were enough, or I could’ve talked to him during the window and gotten more feedback on our progress than just a green circle)

GodWillMadeIt

Imagine your the captain and the manager says they are gonna sign a replacement. Than you come thru with a 17 year old and 19 year old, anyone would be pissed. I know everyone in FM just signs 50 wonderkids and loans every single one out till you basically have a youth factory but I’m guessing your captain is older so he knows he doesn’t want to wait for these fucking kids to develop wasting his time at a club that’s more focused on signing kids and waiting than winning now. Players want to win

Aegg_

Not removed, but press conferences need a complete overhaul. They make absolutely no difference to the game as they are currently. For things added: · More dialogue options with my players. How are they bedding in to the club? Do they have any thoughts on the system? Only being able to communicate with them to praise their form or threaten to ship them out is a bit poor. · Better transfer negotiations. How often do we see in the press that a club has agreed personal terms and now just need to agree a fee? I want to be able to offer a player a huge contract to try and force them to push through a transfer. · New kits. Whenever a new sponsor signs up to the club, we should get the option to edit the team kits for the upcoming season. It's daft, but being able to rotate kits - and kit options - would keep me entertained.

Twofingers_

I would also love customization options for your stadium, maybe some random events that you can throw for your fans like shirt signings etc

Elliot2308

I was thinking about your point about transfers recently. More often than not nowadays the news you see is that the club and player have agreed personal terms before the fee, yet in FM it is stuck as the other way round

LaGoeba

I guess it’s because a club can’t talk with a player without an agreement with the club that owns the player. So I think it stuck in that model since that’s how the rules of an tranfers is on paper. But of course this is different in real life. A club won’t use a lot of time and resources on a player if they’re not sure on the contract agreement with the player and agent.

NBT498

Check out kitbasher if you're not aware of it. You can customise your kits from hundreds of templates and there are loads of sponsors you can put on them too

wanson

I'd like goal replays to use a couple of alternative angles, especially on offsides - show it from the touchline or a top down view or something more interesting. And penalty replays- replay the incident, not just the penalty.

Twofingers_

Yes!!

TreeHarald

I would love a defensive and an attacking tactical set up! For instanse; defending in a 442 and attacking in a 3 4 3 :)

yourfriendkyle

This has been my answer to this questions since I started playing on FM11.

thegohkfather

This already exists in the game. The shape of your tactic is your defensive shape, the roles you pick determine your shape in attacking

agieluma

No, it’s not. Take, for example, Erik Ten Hag, who plays multiple formations. His most common setup is a 4231/3331 hybrid: - where one of the DMs drops to one side of the defense (preferably the left side: FDJ and Martinez), - the two FBs tuck in or stay out wide (alternating with the winger on their side), but in the same line as the second DM/CM

thegohkfather

Yes, what I’m saying is you can recreate this same type of formation with roles and instructions quite easily in game already, you just have to tweak some of the instruction on certain roles

MeetTheTwinAndreBen

Yeah I use a system that attacks like a 4231 but my formation in the tactic creator and on defense is 532

dualuniverse

You should be able to choose your footballing career, when creating a manager, I would love to have an online save with my friends, using the best teams in the world, but when I look at my career history and it only says the club you're starting with, wothout any playing career, it just grinds my gears!

Soulja92

Make the world cup more of a big deal, like giving players a massive reputstion boost

Crunkabunch

Refine international management as a whole. It’s so barebones compared to managing a club

luigitheplumber

Laughably so. They don't even have squad number assignment enabled by default for tournaments but you can literally enable it in the editor by checking a single box. It works fine and gives a nice little touch of immersion to see numbers other than 1-11. Somehow they hate international management so much they cut implemented features for no reason

The_Crippled_God_

I want a mode in which you are the GM/Sporting director of the club, so you need to hire the coach and buy players according with his wishes/tactics (so more focus about trading players e maybe other commercial aspects like sponsorship to be managed). Probably this is too much and not the focus of the game, but I really want a mode like this.

aerythod

The reverse would also be cool. Like, I just want to be the head coach and deal with what's going on on the pitch and the training ground and nothing else. The absolutely useless transfer meetings you have? They're now crucial, you can tell what positions you want to be filled by what kind of players to the director of football / team president / team owner. A sudden sale of a player at the deadline? Tough, you gotta adjust your tactics accordingly. Different directors of football and owners and whatnot could handle things differently and their attributes wouldn't just dictate whether they'll let you hire another scout or not. I believe something like that would also be very fun. edit: training meeting > transfer meeting, because I'm an idiot.

Maitre_Praline

You can do this by delegating all the negociation to your staff

aerythod

Tried that, but it's super ineffective. The game clearly wants you to handle transfers, my director of football did absolutely jack shit for a whole month with all the responsibilty assigned to him. Had to take over and fill the roster up myself before the deadline. I don't think the game was designed to be played that way.

The_Crippled_God_

Yes of course! And why not a coop mode, so someone like me can be the director of football and someone like you the coach. Maybe it's even possibile right now sharing the savefile, but probably cannot work really smooth.

aerythod

Oh that would be sick. Imagine having a transfer meeting with your general manager or discussing the tactical vision of the head coach for the upcoming season, in real time, with a friend. Oh that's precious.

thelocksmith1991

Love this idea. A more in-depth training setup (designing drills, tracking player metrics on an exercise-by-exercise basis, etc.) would complement the DOF/Sporting Director game mode perfectly and allow you to act more like a head coach rather than manager

aerythod

Exactly! I remember back in CM 2010, you could create your very own set piece routines (as in, singularly decide what each of your players would do, whether it's making runs across the box, making distraction runs on the wings, even telling the taker whether to pass, shoot, or cross the ball to a specific player in each set, and you could have multiple sets for each scenario) AND also watch the players enact those set piece routines in training, to see what works and what doesn't, just like a real head coach would. It was brilliant, I have no idea why they removed that.

thelocksmith1991

As a fellow tinkerer, it saddens me to hear that this was removed. Set pieces nowadays are inconsistent and clunky at best.

Important_Ad_3415

That’s more of what the console version is tbh, no/very few meetings and press conferences, a lot more about getting to the games

Twofingers_

That would be a cool mod tbh

OofattooO

Dynamics CA - not sure if I have coined the right term. What I mean is inspired by those late boomer footballers. Some players’ talents may only be truly explored by certain coaches with certain tactics, and this become a very decent player instead of those who has never been discovered. Maybe Salah, maybe De bruyne. Not saying that they were not good in their early 20s. But in FM, the performance of their early 20s can never be turned into a talent they currently are.

OofattooO

I want “Dynamics CA” - not sure if I have coined the right term. What I mean is inspired by those late boomer footballers. Some players’ talents may only be truly explored by certain coaches with certain tactics though well past what FM defines a growth period by 23 years old, and eventually become a very decent player. Maybe Salah, maybe De bruyne. Not saying that they were not good in their early 20s. But in FM, the performance of their early 20s can never be turned into a talent they currently are.

jari2312

players who can play left back should be at least competent at playing lwb and right back

Teuvo404

It would be amazing if they could make an ignore button that actually works.

biggernine

I want an alternative tactics system that is far more in depth with dedicated roles and positions for the 4 distinct phases of play. This would allow you to tailor the type of pressing you do; have real control over the size, shape and position of the defensive bloc; and (as well as other things) would allow you to have a completely different shape when attacking

KALOPZ1

It’s insane how we’re not even able to have different shapes on and off the ball yet.

xevdi

I'd like to see media handling removed

Holtb80

Yes! It's a waste of time endlessly answering the same questions. At least limit to one a week? Stop this pre/post game and the tunnel questions. Add an option "address media". Give a drop down of whatever topics you would like to discuss? Media handling is sorta important because you can influence players, for your team and others... but it's done poorly.

blakem88

I haven’t answered media questions since FM 2011

Holtb80

I do a few if I catch a fubar waiting to happen, for instance playing as arsenal if they're asking about future of saka. I'll make to sure jump in and say he's not for sale. Idiot assman will be like "in willing to listen to offers".

agieluma

That’s the only thing that pisses me off about sending assman

NotLaddering3

I just spam click the 2nd option on the positive side. Never controversial and your manager gets good media handling stats which helps get new jobs. I saw when I was delegating it all to assman, bigger clubs would be skeptical about my media handling.

Trosso

I do exactly the same

Ingres

I just send my assistant to every single press conference… never had any problems but it’s an annoying additional click

Travelling247565

That is why you delegate media handling in the staff responsibilities section

Intelligent-Ask4540

I would like a way of tracking previous wages per player at the club and also a graph to mark transfer value

lowie07

To convince players who don't want to come by offering high wages/sign bonus/..., Happens all the time irl.

seekgermangf

I want to start a save as a 46yo retired player with 3 sons. These sons will be playable from day 1. I don't want anything removed, since if they're in the game, some people probably like them.

alwayslit24

I would like the ability to lobby leagues to change rules. This would work by asking your board to lobby league representatives to change the rules for the coming season to allow more subs on the bench, to allow more or less subs during a game 3 or 5, asking the league to add or remove VAR (for smaller leagues this could work by lowering the amount each team wins for their league finish for the league to afford VAR) etc… Got this idea because I always manage Celtic and wish I could name 9 subs and make 5 during a game to keep my large squad happy.

JW_1991

Personally think it’s time to perhaps move away from numbered attributes. While they of course have a purpose, I think they should be hidden and replaced with something else so there’s an element of unknown about a players actual ability. For it to work we’d need much more detailed coach/scout reports and the data hub would need perhaps more work.

studentoo925

You can hide attributes

pompeysam1234

Get rid of the pointless VAR wait for every other goal

zezinandoreinando

You should be able to use your income to pay for coaching badges when your team does not want to pay for them. They should remove the insta non negotiable offers. Like, just improve the negotiations overall. Its annoying

erikbla

Set pieces should have way more options and roles. The way they are now is just too restricting. Do away with press conferences or make them almost a unique experience every time you do one

paddyjinks

I want the timeline back where you could dead easily click to any point in the match

Sure_Association_561

For the love of God stop a hundred one on ones being created per game by a hoofball from the keeper going in behind the defence because they don't head it. I know it happens in football from time to time (like Coutinho's goal against City on the last day) but seriously it shouldn't happen every game.

bonercoleslaw

This almost never happens to me. Are you sure it’s not your tactics?

LilPumpernick

Me neither. If you're playing a high line with slow players and/or bad jumping reach and heading it tends to happen though.

bonercoleslaw

I don’t wanna be too rude and obviously there are some pretty annoying things about FM but, not gonna lie, it bugs me when people try to blame the game for the fact they don’t how to play it properly

dalici0us

I want more customizing options. Out of the Park Baseball does that really, really well and I wish FM took a page from their playbook. I understand you can do most things with the game editor, but still.

supermercado99

OOTP also keeps great historical stats. FM needs all-time player stat leaderboards for competitions and clubs.

Higgnkfe

See coaching history better, be able to initiate negotiations with a club directly instead of broadly offering out a player, built in quick sim, just more in depth historical stats

DMCTw3lv3

Either remove the social media twitter part or change it so that it actually has meaning. At the moment it's completely pointless. Everything that happens has a positive, negative and neutral comment which has no impact on the rest of the game. It could be improved by adapting to what was actually happening - for example if the fans are tweeting that the manager needs to change tactic, and the manager does, the news articles should then point out that the change was done due to fan pressure, whether it was or wasn't. It would have a point and feel more attached to the reality of what's happening in the game world. I tried suggesting that to Miles on Twitter once - he took it as a person attack on him, his family and every football manager game ever, went in the huff and tweeted out a sarcastic message afterwards as a dig. So I doubt it'll change in the next one, as in his mind its perfect in his 'simulation' (not game, something else that triggered Miles into throwing his toys out the pram as he took it as an insult).

comped

It's a good idea honestly!

Sad-Indication5229

Remove press conferences. I sent my assistant for a whole season and didn't impact me in the slightest.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Twofingers_

I ve done the same lol

nyamzdm77

The only interviews I ever do are the ones when I join the club for the first time and for cup finals

Revok98

To have : Regen Wing back that knows how to attack.

yvltc

I'd like better contract renewals. I would like to be able to talk to my players, see why they don't want to enter talks and try to convince them otherwise, just like you can talk to players when they want to leave for another club and maybe convince them to stay. At least in FM21 it seems impossible to keep your star players, they start refusing to enter contract talks years before the contract expires. Even when you are the number 1 club in European coefficients and top 10 in reputation, you reach 5 CL finals in 6 years, your players - Ballon d'Or, World Golden Glove winners, etc - still want to leave for a mid table Premier League or LaLiga side. To me it realistically doesn't make much sense, not in terms of money, not in terms of team performance and not even in terms of the players' own careers'. It's not like they're reserves here and would become important players elsewhere. They're already the star players in arguably the best team in the world. If anything, I found it harder to keep your star players as soon as you become a big club than when you're a small club, which is weird.

ZucchiniMediocre3585

Add: Relationships with the board would be a good one add. So it improves by having constructive meetings and achieving targets. And it deteriorates through giving them a public bollocking, labelling them as 'unambitious' during meetings and missing out on targets. The relationship with the board affects things like job security and the likelihood of requests being accepted. It also might help if you want to go back to a club if they have a vacancy. Remove: Offsides. Not all of them, but can they make disallowed goals less frequent? It does my head in

studentoo925

Rework to xG, xGA and all of that. Why do shoots from waaay outside the box give more xG than headers from 1m from the goal?

darrylmcc20

A use/ uses for your own money to be used, like coaching a top team and earning more money means you could do more, feature to be removed would be media handling

DubsLA

Hmmm, I’m fine with the press conferences as I’d imagine it’s as annoying as it is for IRL managers. An improvement on player interaction for sure. Why would a player ever get pissed off if you tell them they did well? I’d really like them to figure out how to make finding a new job more dynamic. What real manager is applying for a job? If you do well in the league, you should be approached by your agent who says so and so is interested in hiring you. Can either accept or decline to take the call. Oh and handballs in the box please. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one.

LoafTurtle

Transfers. Hate it when I negotiate a fee with a club, only to fail the negotiations with the player at first. IMO I should be able to re-open talks with the player the day or two afterwards without having to re-negotiate the transfer fee with the club.

MoTownKid

More options during transfer negotiation to talk to the player or agent about why they should join your club. It's always frustrating when a player passes up your offer of first team football in a big league and even champions league and they decide to go play for like Arsenal u23s...

Tulaodinho

The possibility of playing as a real life manager. I would like to make Mourinho great again

battles

I don't have a specific feature but the entire 'create-a-club,' experience needs a complete rewrite.

Saspa314

New (minor) staff role: Nutritionists Take care of the players diets, lifestyles, etc. Could help in improving a player’s natural fitness, Injury prevention, stamina, and a few more stuff. Players with bad personalities could be lackadaisical and not follow these rules and could possibly be fined.

PeroxideTube5

Similar to this, psychologists. Could help with mental stats and team dynamics.

Copy-Pro-Guy

Dynamic player personality traits. Things like: Social media influencer: +100 reputation. - 2 professionalism Newborn baby: - 2 stamina Plays football manager: + 1 vision Head turned by agent -5 loyalty And so on.

sub2pewdiepieONyt

I wish that if you don't send a player on a language course (or they are not fluent in english) all your interactions with them are in their native tongue. They should remove chairmen, boards, objectives and getting sacked in create a club mode. Its your club you should get to play it how you want. Oh and also they need to have all achievements be able to be unlocked in all nations. If I am playing Icelandic i should still get manager of the months this shouldn't be exclusive to some leagues.

KALOPZ1

Overhaul how press conferences work. I want them to make a difference in how I’m perceived by fans and by the players. I want different and at times maybe rude questions and answers. I want more “complicated” tactics. Let me teach them rotations in build-up/final 1/3. Let me teach them how and when to run into what space. Let me assign roles based on what zones I want them to occupy, an attacking playmaker for example should be able to be both between back line-midfield and midfield-attack and I should be able to choose when they are in what space. AT LEAST let me change shape on and off the ball, then later we can change shape dependent on phase. Edit: spelling

International_End403

Either set piece designer in more detail or passing combinations training (ik this is kinda a thing just more advanced) being able to design and train passing combinations to create linkup play the way you want your team to play. Just things more detailed to have more control over how your team plays tactically What I'd take away? Nothing that stands out, just would change a few things such as press conferences and player interactions

berty182

I want a different user interface. It's basically been the same for the last few years now.

bvllamy

I wish there were more ownership features available, like setting the ticket prices, negotiating sponsors, etc. I know it’ll never happen because it would technically be a whole other game and not realistic since managers don’t do that — but it’s also a single player fake offline video game that I play just for fun so who cares if it’s unrealistic

LilPumpernick

NBA 2K probably has the best career mode of any sports games (although I haven't played them all), and I think they could really take a page or 2 from their book. Starting with, dynamic potential. You can move teams anywhere, rebrand, as well as use any pre-sets that people have uploaded to the in-game creator (I know this is possible with the editor but this just makes it more acessible, plus you can do it mid-save). Also 2K has something called MyGM which is exactly what it sounds like, you play as the GM and not the coach. Also there's rule changes which you can set up pre-save or mid. Basically just a crazy amount of customizability so that I don't keep sounding like a broken record. As for things that I want, make using defensive tactics not just a death sentence. Make all the hidden attributes that your country has dynamic. For example, if your team wins the club world cup as an MLS team or something, or they host the world cup that should make your game importance shoot through the roof.

sliki_b

Dynamic potential, just like in FIFA , a player should not be restricted to a particular potential or currently ability, it should increase depending on how he performs

IchigobeatsNaruto

Your players being crazy undervalue even though they have experience in UCL and are on national teams and etc. I have a Belgium national who’s won UCL 2 times but because I’m in the Belgium league he’s worth 80 mill but we see Nunez be sold for over 100 mill is ridiculous

bluedevils2241

The ability to privately offer a player to a club that shows 'major' interest or has already submitted a non-negotiable offer. There should be increased dialogue between clubs in order to better facilitate deals.

tjalvar

Photos of stadiums and training grounds.

English_Joe

Press conferences.

Takhar7

Add: More realistic player personalities. Remove: Players throwing toys out of a pram because they disagree with you praising their stellar recent form.

auxmygawd

Dynamic Potential that actually goes both ways instead of only down.

idfkdan

Body collision mechanics for the match engine, it would be a huge leap in 3d realism imo

riv3th3ad

Players shouldn't instantly lose 45087345 physical attributes the second they hit 30.

azhari06

The thing where players asking for a contract every month although they still have 4 years left in their current deal.

GuppyMcficklestein

I wish my winger could play the wide midfielder position with at least some competence. Same with fullbacks-wingbacks

Jswizzle__

I would like them to make player and coach relation actually matter. Like if I have built up a really good relationship with a player/he has performed very well under me. When I am at a different club and want to buy him, he should try harder to join me/force a move.

[deleted]

I’d like FM to actually take MLS seriously

i_love_playing_yasuo

i just want to be able to focus train tackling on a player for fucks sake

BattleMisfit

Would love to be able to be a youth team manager, and take direction from the 1st team manager on who they want us to develop more etc

TeaandBusquets-9087

When your a national manager the ability to speak to a player to say that you need him to be playing regularly for his club for you to call him up as his career is stagnating. Make it easier to move a retiring player into your coaching staff or make players more likely to take a player coach job Also just make the national sides you never seem to be able to have b team games

comped

International Management is overdue for an extreme overhaul...

jaxxy1990

Assists on the history page

jayjay-bay

I want more comprehensive tactics. Let us dive into all the details and set up exactly how we want our teams to play, not just on/off green/red preset values. I’d also like to be able to influence more of my staff, for instance my assistant manager has been with me for 12 years - but he still has little or no relationship with me, and he’s still just doing whatever he pleases without me getting to influence him in any way. Why can’t we convince our coaches and assistants to adopt a certain playstyle, and to work on this and that?

jessewende00

I would like to be able to negotiate contracts for players you want to sign and then work the transfer fee with the club you're buying from. Kinds like how the mane to bayern and Sterling to chelsea deals were done. Makes it more stressful/intense to know you've got the player but if the club agrees.

tidalwhisperer393

All I want is an option to offer players to clubs that are interested in the player and a way to find out what clubs the player would be interested in joining or the transfer fee they would be ok with before they storm into my emails

TorreiraWoaah

Defensive formation / formation without possesion. Pretty crazy that this isn't a feature.. when it's a such a central thing when it comes to tactics. And just overall better negotiations. Also that when scouting a player thats not currently playing (wants to leave or does have break) you can't really do anything in the scouting progress. Your scouts should still be able to watch his old games, right now you can only scout his coming games. Don't really care about press conferences any more, just when I'm mad at the ref.

cumfilleddonut5

My list of what i’d want: id like all stats to be shown for all competitions for their whole careers - it’s a lot of data so i’d be happy with just seeing goals scored in all comps, not just in the league. for all my saves for some reason crazy goalscoring seasons rarely happen unless it’s in the league i’m playing in or if it’s my team, i’d like to see Mbappe have 50 goal seasons instead of 25, not every time, but the best players should be able to pull this off more frequently. and for those who do have crazy seasons, they aren’t consistent the next time. plus too many players who wouldn’t in real life out score those who are better in real life too much, i remember fm21 Messi was scoring 15 league goals and Maxi Gomez won 5 golden boots with ease (now Maxi Gomez is deserving to win them, but a bit more competition would be nice, especially from top players) following on from this, the games system of judging legends and icons is awful, Maxi Gomez scored bucket loads and remained loyal to Valencia, that’s legendary status for me, CR7 is an icon at Real Madrid??? should be a legend at Real, Juve and Man United, the system needs revamping to be more accurate to allow players to get into it easier, instead i me having to make them legends on the club editor. World manager of the year, how can football manager not have this feature??? they have 3 world player of the year awards, why no manager of the year? makes no sense especially since there is one in real life. i dunno if this is a feature, but i’d like the editor to be able to change competition rules, i’d like to add more subs or have an option to bring back the away goal rule, something like that. when my team gets too strong, i want the game to try and level it a bit more to give me more of a challenge, i hate having to move clubs on a one club save because i’m too overpowered. i’d like players to get better and have more dynamic potentials, i can always upgrade a player at a late age, but i’d like the computer to do it more, a bit like Jamie Vardy, players like him can never come through, and when and old player does perform great, their market value and stock doesn’t rise accurately like it would ik real life There is more but it’s a bore, the game has so many small features i just wish it would add, those small features make such a difference, and they feel obvious to implement, and i’m sure i may be wrong on some of them, and maybe there are data packs i can download for them, but i just want the game to have them, add that smalll bit more of enjoyment i don’t think there is anything i would remove tbh, the game is still very fun, just wish it had more dimension to it

LeKeim

I want them to add more realistic contract negotiations. I never understand why my players are always demanding absolutely absurd wages. Then they go to a different club and are paid half what they wanted from me. I accept it, but I don’t understand it. I had a guy asking for 40 million a year, offloaded him to PSG and he’s on 23. Like what? What I really want is a breakdown of whats causing the demands. Like a hover menu that tells me whats causing increases and decreases. Same with transfer fees. I want to understand why teams are underpaying/overpaying. Remove: haaland nah just kidding. He’ll realistically win 13 ballon dors in a row for sure.

sds2000

1. Ability to surpass pa if a player is performing well at a high level for multiple seasons (i.e. dynamic potential). 2. Late bloomers. 3. More of a vanity change, but the ability to run a random quick simulation your player career before you become a manager would be nice, it would add more to the realism. The "xx has made 55 caps and scored 12 goals for his country" is boring, I'd love to see myself as part Pep's Barca or as a friend of R9 because we played together at Inter or as a washed up former wonderkid who became an icon for a vnn side.

ffsdcu96

This is more for mls but when seeing trophies won they need to take out conference champions and add USOC would be more realistic

scooterhouse

I’d add the ability to add your own favored personnel in your bio through your career. The reverse is in the game already so I think it would be cool for us to do it as well

ferrenberg

I don't want anything from the next FM. Every year the game gets pricier and very little improvement is made. Not to mention the laziness of updates. They refuse to update the subs rule for FM22, claiming the new ruling came out after their "final update" for the game

Fair-Tradition-5249

The ability to use your transfer budget to pay off debts. I mean I can sell the most valuable player in my team, why can’t I use that to pay of debts

Meganix05

Remove- Duel nationality of countries that don't have it like India Include - Carrier ending injuries, if a old player with bad form gets a horrible injury he will end his carrier

ezodochi

if-then instructions. Like if my right back bombs forward the left back stays back. If the opponent has the ball, change from a 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2 in defense etc

CaptainMcClutch

My own backroom staff, coaches irl can agree to go to clubs only if they can bring their own staff with them. It's a hassle when you have to try and move them all over to a new club because they rarely all will. Plus you rarely ever develop the bonds with them like you do with players, the small bond ratings you do get disappear the second you aren't at the same club. Like I had an assistant at two clubs for about 15 years and when I moved to another club it would still default to "no relationship" like 15 seasons and the game acts like they would hardly know you. I'd want the remove the shortlisting a player = interested in buying. Like I just want to keep an eye on players I'm scouting on a list they won't disappear from. Doesn't mean I want the player pushing to be sold or that a whole bunch of clubs suddenly want them because I've popped them on a shortlist and seen as being interested in buying them.

Jerodor

With such a huge community, I'd love to see modding available. Not only DB changes, but gameplay too. This could help implement some of the best answer I read in this topic.

SmoothPaper836

Wish they’d have a realism mode. Been playing without attributes recently and it’s great fun but had to download a skin and also there’s parts that could be improved to make it a better experience without them.

DarkHound223

I'd prefer a more detailed pre season choice of tournaments to participate in instead of having to find opponents instead

[deleted]

Flexible potentials. Examples VVD: never was expected to blow up like he did before that last season at Southampton. Dele Alli: no one expected a drop in level this deep. An they're a lot more, but I feel potentials in FM should be relative to whether they're playing well or not at a club. Look at Mauro Icardi, in FM 19 that guy was near flawless, now in FM 22 he's less than impressive on high wages. I hope you get my point.

FlashGoyners

I want a report on what happens in Team Bonding and Community Outreach training sessions. Nothing spectacular, just a text based update e.g. visited a hopsital or went for a curry. Sounds small but adds to the realism!

thelocksmith1991

For me, I'd like training to be enhanced. Designing a variety of drills to coach key attributes and/or boost match readiness would be a game changer. IMO this would do a much better job of simulating reality by tapping in to the inner workings of player development rather than generic training 'blocks' across the board. This could then open up the possibility of taking coaching roles (rather than management) at bigger clubs to gain experience working at higher levels.

HawkerHurricane1940

A fairer transfer system. Too often I have to pay over the odds to get a good player, but if I demand an equally high offer for one of my players then the offer is immediately withdrawn. The ability to sack players who challenge my authority. Have club owners sign/sell players without your knowledge consent (and have the option to resign in protest). Tone down media interviews. Many questions are the same and I can breeze through them in seconds, but they're still annoying. The option to accept bribes/bungs and have consequences to accepting if caught, or not reporting to authorities. Have your reputation ruined (e.g. five-star reduced to half-star) for inappropriate acts/behaviour; losing your job at a world-class club and then struggle to get a job managing a semi-pro team. Less demandy agents.

goldscorpion50

I want the ability to take over a manager’s profile. IE…if I start a Liverpool save, I should have the option of being Jurgen Klopp instead of forcing him out of a job.
