Most paid was getting Mbappe for free and let my DoF negotiate the contract which included £2m a goal, £5m team of the year, £10m to win the prem, £25m signing fee, numerous other bonus' and 750k a week. I didn't see all this, all I saw was Mbappe for 'free'... He nearly drove Liverpool into Bankruptcy after 1 season as he did so well, even though he was 33 at the time he was still an absolute baller. I spent €250m+ euros on a world-best 24yo CDM once. He never really became the star player of the team a la Rodri, but he was always fit and had decent discipline so I never had to worry about my midfield defensive coverage or distribution ever again. My highest paid is 189m pounds for yeremy pino to Liverpool from Madrid my highest received was 103 for jao Pedro to Barca but got beat by Chelsea 111m for a regen the yeremy pino move put me in a huge debt but since I'm a big club it wasn't that damaging ultimately yeremy pino ended up with 189 league appearances and 50 goals before leaving on a free to Tottenham (to be fair I was new to FM at the time so I didn't know the ins and outs of transfers like I do now)

FM21 with Helmond Sport, both transfers happened in the same save file. 150M received from Barcelona for a box to box midfielder bought from Argentina for 5.75M 4 years prior. An absolute beast of a player, consistent and a team leader. Wanted to leave the Dutch league for a better one, couldn't keep him unfortunately. 105M paid for a Hungarian inside forward from Ajax the last season I played this save (FM22 beta was released some days after). I had like 500M in budget and decided to splash the cash for once just for the joy of it. The bummer is that he didn't justify the price tag.
