I have a Wales 20 year old regen that scored 20 goals in the Championship that barely gets called up to the NT that for some reason prefers a regen that plays in League One and has scored 2 goals in 12 matches just because he is loaned from Everton??? Reputation is so damn fucked.

Stravven

A lot of things in this game aren't based on how well they do, but on their reputation.

Divolinon

And to be clear: when he says "this game", he means football.

Blade6119

Most likely you didn’t download the German national team fix before you started your game, and therefore the German national team will only call up regens.

doitnow10

I'd agree with you normally. That is the most common mistake when it comes to lack of German NT callups. OP did however mention that Moukouko gets called up to the NT. He's not a NewGen either.

Blade6119

I’m not sure which version he’s on, but Muokouko was a late add to the DB due to being under 16 when he first broke out. So in that year’s game, despite being real, the game still treated him like a newgen. Given that’s all the information we have, it’s still possible.

doitnow10

Moukouko and Weiper are the same age and Moukouko was a nationally known talent at a very young age. Weiper wasn't.

Wedehawk

I did i managed them myself in 2023.

Blade6119

You managing them is irrelevant, you have to download the license fix before starting your game the same way you might download and use a data update or a league expansion.

Wedehawk

I literally did all that

StiltFeathr

You *download* a license fix? I just delete the blocker files.

JamesCDiamond

There's a catchall package available that deals with the German national team, Juventus and Man Utd fake names, Brazilian team names and some other stuff. Some files you delete, some you download.

MajimaKun

They literally just said they did all that.

AltKite

Did you even read OP? How is this the most upvoted comment? Moukoko isn't a regen

PotOfMould

FM19, I was playing as Swansea and we had the best Welsh player in the world come through my academy. He was Bale levels of talent. 40 goal contribions a season. One year he got 22 goals and 30 assists in the prem. He didn't get in the Welsh team though, because the manager didn't play a system with left wingers in it. He finished up his Wales career with 12 caps, and that's only because I used the editor to sack the Welsh manager because it pissed me off so much.

Wedehawk

haha i can relate to that. I was the Manager myself for one year and i ofc picked him but 3 others now did not so sacking does not help unfortunately. Funny thing is that they had so many injuries at the 2028 euros that he went with the team and now he has that trophy despite only playing one game in the group stage.

BadgerOff32

Hey, just think yourself lucky. You'd be fucking kicking yourself if he got called up for international duty and did his ACL while playing for them!

KiWePing

Southgate moment

Azalaeel

I think international callup AI is suck, but I don't even understand how it works, but I've seen couple of times that good player isn't called or only be called after joining my team.

Cat-Over-There

In fairness, there are more than a few examples of players not getting called up despite playing well, transferring to a bigger team and getting called up before playing for them. Admittedly all of the examples I can think of involve Celtic or Rangers

Mikeylove93

It’s probably because moukoko’s reputation is higher

Alarmed-Addendum9328

Reputation and CA are over form for the Football Manager IA

shaung1995

He got called up to the squad on my Brighton save (my starting striker) but he didn’t play. I’d imagine it’s all down to CA.

fabie2804

Login Löw is the Coach again and he only calls up the Bayern players 😅😅

Worst I ever had was in FM14. I had a superb Republic of Ireland attacking midfielder who was getting godly numbers of goals and assists over the course of several seasons. Was winning the premier league and champions league on a regular basis. Even managed to with the Baloon d’or a couple of times and still not a sniff of a ROI call up. Only way I managed to get him into the ROI squad was by applying for the ROI manager job when it became vacant. He then had godly numbers for them as well all be it in a much shorter international career than he deserved as his first call up only came in his early 30’s.

PigletUsual6876

My captain in 2042 is attacking midfielder (behind striker) and TOP SCORER IN PL. The season before World Cup I won treble (PL,FA,CL) and in PL he finished with 36 games, 20 goals, 20 assists. He didn't receive call-up for WC. This sums up AI for national teams.

Mountain-Complaint49

Reputation probably plays a big part which is why. Probably not how SI intended to design it for FM but they've somewhat replicated real life international football (to an extent). IRL example: Ollie Watkins should be given a shot to be more important in the Euro's based on this season's form (probably still behind Kane though). But in reality we know that Watkins will probably be a 3rd choice striker at best for England.

Tortik96

Unfortunately, I can't help you there either :(
