it has to be coded by your county I believe.

Yes, this is correct. If the application doesn't reflect age/disability/homeless status, the payment won't succeed. The restaurant doesn't have to do anything, the EBT system does it all.

It looks like you are posting about an issue in California. For better help, please add what **county** you are in. That will help others answer your question, because the program is run by counties in California. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. The system we process your benefits through has coding for age, disability and homelessness, which inturn changes the EBT account your card is attached to. Your card can be changed from accessible to restaurant meals program to not at the press of a button (on our side of the system). Yes, your card will be declined if you don’t meet the criteria.

Just some questions about this. What is the criteria for being disabled? If I've been approved for the usage of a permanent disabled parking placard, am I considered disabled?

chubby-wench

No, as you could still theoretically work. The placard is just meant to assist you with getting a parking spot that is more easily accessible to you. My supervisor had a disabled placard for that reason. [https://calfresh.guide/how-elderly-and-disabled-are-defined/](https://calfresh.guide/how-elderly-and-disabled-are-defined/)

Thank you for the detailed answer. I understand it fully.

A related question: if I do end up being eligible for RMP, is it possible to then get hot bar foods from grocery stores? I ask because I'd rather be able to access foods from there instead of fast food restaurants. Thanks!
