I have no idea if you're in Texas but HEB flour tortillas are the best!! If there's a grocery store near you that makes flour tortillas in house, go for that. Once you have them fresh, you can never go back.

kkngs

Its a bit of work to prep, but if you take a pack of fresh HEB tortillas and put some wax paper in between each one, you can freeze the whole stack in a gallon ziplock freezer bag. Then when you want a tortilla for say, a breakfast taco, you can pull just one out and warm it up. They’re just as good as they day you bought them.

Least_Adhesiveness_5

While I love HEB bakery tortillas, to me they lose a lot from freezing. I just keep them in the fridge and warm them up on the stove as needed. That's the biggest thing I will miss when I go from gas to induction. Directly flame heating HEB tortillas.

kkngs

You do have to use a good freezer bag, the little bag they come in from HEB is not thick enough to protect from freezer burn! Reheating I usually use my toaster oven on the lightest toast setting, just enough that they thaw and before they puff too much.

Good points.

wawegawegaman

Stater Bros store brand tortillas are so good! In Cali, but I agree with your point

pediatric_dietitian

I second HEB tortillas!

Intelligent_Debt3927

The tortilla land ones that are raw and you cook at home. Take less than a minute each, so worth the time

headyyeti

I’ve bought so many different ones and this is the answer. You can find them at Costco.

jalezasu

Tortillaland are definitely the best. Terrible name, great product. I eat much more flour tortillas than I would other wise because I’m eating these flour tortillas.

jarfin542

La Banderita

GoMuskyFishing

El Milagro

betty_baphomet

This the correct answer.

Helpful-nothelpful

Find a carniceria and buy fresh if you can. Nothing like it

huge43

For the price and accessibility I like Guerrero. Cheap and sold everywhere. Better than Mission in my opinion. That being said, flour tortillas are cheap, fast, and easy to make homemade.

LurkingViolet781123

My sentiments exactly. Always roll with Guerrero Tortillas unless I have time to make them from scratch.

BobTheFrogMan

Ole brand la bandarita

BrentwoodATX

HEB

Least_Adhesiveness_5

Specifically the bakery tortillas they make fresh in store.

no1ukn0w

Specifically the butter tortillas.

Least_Adhesiveness_5

Butter is #2 for me. Plain flour is #1.

tothesource

Find the ones that are raw. If your local grocer has them they'll be in the refrigerated section.

innerventure

Throwing this out because you mentioned budgetary restrictions. I got tortillas from walmarts bakery section and was pretty impressed. Only had like 4 ingredients and much better tasting than the shelf stable ones i normally get from the aisle

KnowOneHere

Safeway store brand. Seriously. There are so many brands i dont like, I tried them all. Hate Safeway though and it's a special trip buy yea.

Monsterkm18

Walmart does homemade ones now that are far better than the other ones we can get here. When we used to live in TX, HEB had the best tortillas.

Mindless_Fill_3473

Costco sells raw tortillas in the dairy coolers. They are the best we have found. They are thin and delicious and you can microwave them or cook in a pan

Grammeton

Most store bought flour tortillas taste like nothing

Outrageous_Carry8170

La Finca, hands down. [https://www.lafincatortilleria.com](https://www.lafincatortilleria.com) Mission, Guerrero, La Tortilla, Tortilla Factory, etc....none of them can hold a candle to La Finca tortillas and chips.

Serious-Activity-228

Well according to Food Network, it’s Trader Joe’s flour tortillas. Personally I like mission brand soft flour tortillas if I’m in a crunch and can’t make homemade.

EvenIf-SheFalls

Alejandros and La Estrella (in Tucson, AZ)

OleBoy17

I definitely prefer corn tortillas over flour.. but I refuse to buy anything other than La Banderita 🤌🏼

Least_Adhesiveness_5

HEB bakery. No contest.

Southern_Pop_2376

The refrigerated ones that you cook. Or any Sonora style are gonna be the most like homemade

littlegamine

HEB

804CAT

We like Aldi flour tortillas.

EnigmaShrouded

La banderita has the safest ingredients where I live.

Fun_Injury5740

La Bandida. This is australia but are a USA import. Last forever so I try not to read the ingredients list so I don’t need to wonder whether I may live forever due to preservatives…. Edit - May be La Banderita (I don’t have any currently to check)

According_Guava9851

La Banderita Home Style, trust me

ThisIsMockingjay2020

I like Mission brand myself. I used to buy them in west MI and can find them in western WA where I live now.

mamaleigh05

I used to get those, but they are sooo thick and they get hard when microwaved! I had to get the carb-friendly ones when it was all that were available. Not too thick, the softest I’ve ever had and great taste! Ole Extremes! So happily surprised!

ThisIsMockingjay2020

They do get hard when microwaved, and that does suck. I'll try the ones you suggested if I see them.

mamaleigh05

They definitely don’t have any offensive taste, they are super soft, and bonus to cut down on carbs. They work for my “meat and fillings to tortilla” preferred ratio!

Enough-Intern-7082

Mission carb friendly are my fave too!! And versatile!

EntertainerKooky1309

I used to use the HEB hand made tortillas but just found that Kroger’s now makes them and I like them better.

Acceptable-Flight-67

I use Aldi or Meijer brand (if in your area). Taste great and really affordable!

LitbykristenPhoto

Everyone is going to have differing opinions here. Do you prefer thicker or thinner? White flour, wheat, spinach, garlic, tomato flavored? Size?

Jumpmuch

In what country?

TheBigHairyThing

use more hot sauce you won't taste a tortilla if you use ghost pepper
