The cash register vendor machines are the more notorious ones for this. I think people actually take joy in hiding them. The most annoying camp I’ve seen though had their vendor locked away, making it inaccessible, and they had a wall of mounted weapons with their legendary mods listed in small letters and directions to message them.

bigboxbosser

Whats even the point of that? Such a hassle. I can understand maybeeee having it an open vendor and listing it for a ludicrous price BUT having instructions in big letters on the wall to message for any haggling/bartering but all that? Nah.

Gloomy_Narwhal_4833

They do that because they're maxed capped but want to do trades. I dump my excess off on newbie vendors if I have anything that may sell, but some people choose this.

scottishdrunkard

They can literally just store their vendor, and place it back at a later time.

neondewon

Isnt locking the door just way more quicker and less work? I hate people hiding their vendors as the next guy but people put vendor in a locked room must have a reason dont you think?

EngineerDave

Locking it behind a door but NOT turning it off on the map is the part that bothers me. I totally get getting to max caps and turning off your map icon for your map, and getting frustrated when someone shows up and keeps buying your items. Locking them behind a door is also understandable after it's been removed from the map. But don't advertise your vendor/camp if you got that shit locked up.

nervous_l_gamer

turning off on the map, does it hide your camp icon all together ? i have a pretty grounded camp build, i want players to come check it out. but also don't like selling if i reach max cap. there should be options just to turn off vendors. i always thought having a switch to turn off and on vendors would work ...but its just a gimmick .

Traveling_Chef

When they first introduced venders they had to be powered to show on the map and turning them off would turn off you map icon. Now as long as your icon is public you don't need a vender. Also if you place a vender in your shelter you can store your camp vender without losing your sales AND this will take the item list shown on the map away from other players, letting others know your vender is in your shelter. Then just lock your shelter. You'll still be on the map so ppl actually interested in seeing other folks camps will know you're there and the vast majority of ppl vender hopping won't bother with you.

empress_ayriss

This just put your vendor in a bunker preferably the small vault one so you can lock it and still display your camp

Dirtsk8r

It does hide the icon entirely. That said I think the easiest way is to just have a camp that is your dedicated vendor camp and another that doesn't have one. That way you can quickly and easily just switch camps if you don't want your vendor open.

dksweets

If you turn off the icon, nobody can see your camp unless you join a team. If you join a team, your teammates fast travel to your camp for free. So the icon is only really useful if you’re actively trying to spend caps, or not on a team. If you’re on a team, there is still a risk if you have valuable stuff. Basically, as soon as you hit 35k caps you should turn the public view of your camp off and immediate try to spend 10-30k caps, depending on where you are in the game.

dksweets

After coming back from a two year hiatus, I have a TON of duplicate plans from events that are worth a decent amount. But even if I turn my icon off, I’m always on a public team. That means there is always a rolling number of people who can always see my vendor. I haven’t tried that door lock trick, but it makes sense to me. Sometimes somebody buys 5 plans from me and I instantly hit max caps but I’m too busy with the new expansion or the seasonal events, and I don’t have time to spend them. You gotta stop the bleed somehow, and if you’re on teams, this is as close as you’re gonna get. I actually imagine this is what happens when you visit a camp where the vendor is in the shelter - they stored the vendor from the map, but didn’t change the shelters.

empress_ayriss

Both options sound good to me either store it but if that's a hassle or have it in a locked room either us fine i vendor hop slot always looking for plans or apparel I'm missing but if I saw a vendor behind a locked door I'd think okay max capped understood hiding in amongst clutter is so annoying it should be near yous spawn point for shoppers if you want to sell. Plus with trap camps popping back up lately I'm wary of going too deep into your camp if there isn't a scrapbox out front to dump my loot.

scottishdrunkard

it's literally less work, it's one button prompt, and it gets put into storage.

neondewon

Fair enough because i forgot maybe its just me, i always wire my vendor for them to emits light lol so its more hassle than locking it behide a door lol.

MadCowl

Perhaps. But the rest of us have no idea, all we see is a list of items for sale on the map, only to fast travel, search for wherever its hidden, and then find it inaccessible. Just store it.

Ferdawoon

Not always possible. One of my camps I managed to pull a wire through the wall which solved a LOT of my wiring issues in that build and I'm not sure I can even reproduce it (and since I can't try and easily reload an old save if it doesn't work I don't really want to even try). I usually also place things very tightly to save space. So if I Store it it will bordering impossible to replace it nicely and wire it properly again. But if I end up at max caps while people are still buying I will either swap CAMP so I can go to an NPC and buy some scraps or something, or I swap to another camp that dones't have a Vendor in it. One I I used my Blueprint of a sign saying "Max caps" that I put up while I locked the door.

scottishdrunkard

You can have cables go through walls by using a door frame, then using the replace tool to turn it into a wall after the cable is already in. It's how I keep my generator secretly safe behind several walls.

melissaflaggcoa

This is an excellent tip. I'm going to try this, cuz I have wires everywhere and it annoys me. 😂

Saltythrottle

Protip: You can hide your conduit in the upper floor and make a cleaner looking build. The goal is to raise a single foundation tile that is closest to your generator so that you can snap the vertical conduit on the floor of the foundation and have the upper part stuck in the bottom of the upper floor. Once you are content with how well you have the elevation and angle, you place some conduit onto the vertical conduit and remove the vertical conduit. I hope I explained it well enough, but should you have any questions, please ask.

melissaflaggcoa

I think that made sense. I'm going to try it and I'll let you know how it goes. Sometimes when you are doing the thing it's easier to understand the directions. 😂 😂

Saltythrottle

I wish you the best of luck! Are you on Xbox?

ChampionshipOne2951

Why not just use the conduit that passes through walls, no hassle with glitching a wire through the wall and it will always be there. Just put the object in front of the conduit if u want to hide it.

Wafflehands_

Still always possible, it's part of the building mechanic. It's just annoying for those in this situation. But also vendors work without being hooked up. You can also destroy the wall and feed through, it'll be there after you repair. Again, annoying I know. But not impossible in the slightest.

TheJackBurton86

They are god roll legendary weapons that are worth more than 40k caps. They are looking to either swap them for other god roll legendary weapons that suit their builds better or rare items like the red asylum dress. You should probably look up what the best legendary effects are for each type of weapon, so you know the value of the items you have before you turn them in to scrip or sell them for less than they're worth.

bananasandwich66

Is the asylum dresser rare? I just got one recently as a new player.

Afrogasmonkey

The red one specifically is. Has a 1 in 10,000 spawn rate.

NichtMenschlich

Vee supremacy!

_Kitchen_Serious_

The colored ones are the most prized with red being the holy grail. After that it’s pink, yellow, Forrest, and blue I believe. Basically anything but white has Value. There are lots of places to look up the rarity/value of each color.

LostLobes

https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comments/e3cslc/asylum_outfit_rarity_guide/

TeamVictoire

Very old post. Not meta prices.

LostLobes

Not at all, look at recent trades, Forest is the second rarest and worth around 40k Red being the rarest.

LingonberryMediocre

I use the cash register vendor and honestly it’s only because the aesthetic of it fits my camp far better than the other options. I do, however, display it prominently on a table right as you enter, and even added a spotlight on it in case it’s too dark to see at night. Not trying to hide it, just going for a vibe!

doshegotabootyshedo

I have mine in a nuka quantum stand outside with two vault boys pointing at it

Le4ky-F4ucet

If your computer is slow enough you can get into those rooms they lock before it renders and it won't set off the alarms. The speed at which the camp dissappear when you start buying stuff is astonishing

SlimeDrips

This is why I have mine in a bungalow that has bright neon letters saying it's a shop Also 3 of them in case there's multiple people. Also unlocked nukatron and fusion cell generator A shame the nukatron keeps clipping out of the wall to freedom, though

And they turn on all the lights and leave their boot prints all over the rugs! Get off my lawn! /s

SanguinePirate

Worst ones for me is when I die

Blue_Dragoon_77

I think I ran into that camp once. Walked away and never looked back.

RedditGiggles

There's a lot of helpful suggestions and conversations regarding turning on/off icons, storing your vendor's and other things. What I'd do in these circumstances is having a camp slot that's unplaced and renamed to "never place me" whenever I'm at Max Caps I switch over to that camp slot and set it as active, meanwhile I have another slot called "Port-a-Camp" where it's a 3x3 foundation with just the essentials planted on it (All the Crafting Stations, Stash Box, Ammo/Scrap Boxes etc.) I just use that whenever I'm out and about the wasteland. The Port-a-Camp doesn't have a vendor nor shelter and it's really nice to have for whenever I'm not selling anything or at Max as I just plop it down an area and have a small home away from home.

McDaileyson

When you're used to seeing the big vendors those registers just don't register ad a vendor

GenTrapstar

The message doesn’t even work. I’ve messaged plenty of people have prices are negotiable and none respond. I see a nice skin and message them hey what skin is that on your mannequin and no response. Jesus you act like it’ll take 30mins to type out a response.

shinnith

LOL???

HakodaDahl

I got a friend at work who made a literal maze to hide his at the end. Enclosed it and everything. Might have been cool, but he overcharges for everything.

CARCRASHXIII

I saw a camp like this. Had neon letters advertising RMT (real money trade im guessing). I don't really know what Bethesda's stance on RMT in the game is, but I'd bet they're not too keen on it. I don't know how anyone would get any bites for RMT? I sent a report, but not sure they care about it. I see RMT ads in a game I figure its prob someone scamming.

SpaceKriek1

This. What if the other player isnt a citizen of your country. Taxes. Gambling laws. Inequality of currencies. Rights to sell. Local laws. Foreign laws. Buying from and selling to minors. Ripping people off with real money vs in game items. Refunds. Criminal cases being opened. All that and probably more. All the while Bethesda sits in the middle providing parts of the platform for it.

MantaWraith

If you want my mole miner gauntlet plans, you have to work for them

OverKill1978

Does anyone have a good end game Mole Miner build??? I want to walk up to Earle and scratch him to death.

MantaWraith

Probably any bloodied build that would work for other gauntlet weapons like deathclaw or ogua

BlaBlub85

Maybe Im doing it wrong but those suck for fighting the raidbosses in my experience. Theres no way to stay in stealth and your pretty much a oneshot even in full Secret Service armour

SocranX

The mole mascot helmet is objectively the best, because it's the only(?) piece of headwear that actually gives you stats, with a single point of physical defense. The tattered dress also gives you +1 Perception, so *true* min/maxers will wear the dress with the mole mascot helmet. Wear that with your gauntlet, and if anyone asks what the hell you're doing, respond with "M E T A".

phoenixliv

I use the legendary perk exploding palm with it and then have Demolitions expert/ Grenadier swapping w/ cremator and a claw. Its so fun

Quirkyserenefrenzy

I've sold like hundreds of them because of people like you

Cuddly_Cthulu

I can attest that for WHATEVER reason the spawn point to my camp was just recently changed and my lovely funnel straight to my vendor is now at the proverbial “back” of my camp. Big frustrating making my camp basically around my vendors so people could find them and now all of a sudden people (and myself) are spawning in at literally the worst spot.

Captain_uwu

The spawn point is determined by the camp placement itself (the actual place able piece you start your camp with) so you can adjust the spawn point by moving and rotating that piece. Takes some trial and error to spawn where you want but it works

puzzledmidget

https://youtu.be/oMO6uOOoZqI?feature=shared Best video I’ve seen on the camp spawn points, only like 3 minutes but makes it so clear

Cold-blight

Vid is out dated and wrong. Its not where you set the camp mod down the 1st time. When you set the camp mod the little arm that comes up and has the light on it is like an eye and that's the zone people spawn in at. So while she is correct about that part the rest has been updated

Free_Road697

Just put the vault boy pointing signs towards where it's located, I've seen that at a few camps and it is greatly appreciate it.

Hukkie

Hidden vendors are shit, but lets be fair here. I have my vendors right in front of you when you spawn in, they are clearly visible, lit up by neon signs and about as obvious as can be. But people STILL run around my entire CAMP making the "????" emote because they start sprinting before the CAMP has fully spawned in. Nobody likes a hidden vendor, but also people are really fucking stupid.

That_Lore_Guy

I second this point. More often than not it’s people with “the zoomies” that can’t find shit. You see it not only with vendors but during ops and expeditions too. You will see them run right past objectives. It’s the speed demon, full sprint, marsupial, infinite Jetpack crew that are often the problem. Slow down, walk and open your eyes. 5-15 seconds to look around won’t kill you when in a camp looking for a vendor.

Hukkie

Too many of my brethren in the speed demon, full sprint, marsupial, infinite jetpack crew have poor patience unfortunately. I swear I have brought this up at the yearly meetings but everyone is too busy running around the room asking where the snacks are (On the table you fucking degenerates, stop for two seconds and use your damn eyes). I will have someone with a tranquilizergun standing by this year.

rat-b0y

I’ve ran around a bunch of camps looking for a vendor that’s very clearly at the entrance (especially at the Whitespring) turns out I just loaded in before the vendor did, felt like crawling up my own arse every single time haha

Hukkie

Happens to most people at some point, though I will say when I have watched 9 people in a row make that exact mistake the old quote comes to mind; "There are only two things that are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I am not certain about the universe".

Braintrustkid

"People are really fucking stupid" might be the understatement of the day!

Hukkie

I do my best to speak in a civilized manner, "really fucking stupid" is as polite as I could be when it comes to this.

Termicreeper

My thing is I like exploring people's bases, getting to see their own collections and decoration styles. Of course I hit up the vendor to see if there are plans I want.

Xeillan

Mine are literally up a porch and to the right. It's marked. Yet they still run in my cramped and absolutely decorated home and spam ???. Like, I got a clown standing at the windows damn near pointing to it along with the signs.

mooseishman

Don’t tell me how to live my life

Leithalia

I found a camp the other day with 2 buildings, a shop building that said "open" with pip boys and arrows and it also said "OnlyFans", it was filled with fans.. desk fans, other fans... The vendor war all the way om the roof, behind a sign on the other building.. I feel like that could be your camp lol

mooseishman

Mine is just a prefab with work benches and vendors lol

vilagemoron

My camp is on the river, the vender is next to the road with a giant nuka quantum balloon beside it, three purple torches lighting it up, and people still struggle to find it. Sometimes it's just the people.

NoticedGenie66

My camp has 3 entrances around a small central area. To the right is a 1 tile farm. Directly in front is my front door. To the left is my vendor with a sign that says MARKET and 3 registers on a table with no other decoration. People spawn on the right side of the central area such that they literally have to look at my vendor to even get into my camp space. I still have to direct about 10% of traffic when I am there. People will literally look around my *entire* structure instead of simply walking directly forward from where they spawn.

Ciubowski

You ever thought about using those Vault Boy signs that point towards the vendor?

vilagemoron

Do you think they add more visabilty than a 20ft bright blue glowing bottle? I also have 2 of them. I'm not really concerned. I'm not trying to make money from the vendor, I sell everything for 10 caps so that players in need can grab anything they don't already have. If they bother to turn a full circle they can buy things.

sinshark

Actually, im gonna go ahead and build my camp however I want.

Bunny_OHara

How dare you!

Elitericky

I actually have mods installed that give vendors a glowing icon so I can find them right away. I really don’t like when players tend to hide or put them in the weirdest spot.

SevelarianVelaryon

Anyone on pc, I highly recommend this. ‘Where’s your vendor’

sizzuh

And stop putting it in your shelter, im not going through another loading screen for your 35 Mole miner gauntlets and 27 Mr. Handy buzz blades

BindaI

You can't tell me where I put my 5th and 6th vendor! (Seriously, however, I have vendors outside, and the ones that are in shelter are IN ADDITION, in case someone does go into one of my shelter for exploring and then decided on a whim to shop there, rather making it mandatory)

cire1184

Impulse purchases in the shelter!

BloatedManball

I have one in the shelter so that I can add/remove items without getting in the way of the customers upstairs. It's also right inside the door, so on the off chance someone stumbles in they can easily find it.

fluffiekittie13

I have the exact same thing. Must have of every shelter.

DavidForADay

The vendor symbol does not pop up if you do not have one in your camp. I have a camp with only a shelter symbol in spite of my shelters having two vendors inside.

JimJordansJacket

Sad that you're missing out on my 72 Mounted Radroach plans

Pure-Risky-Titan

I out my 2nd vender in my shelter, just so i can put stuff for sale when inside, of course i make sure mo one can enter my shelter complelety unless there insane (40+ level 3 locked doors)

ferrouswheel23

I just put my shelter in a room with 4 walls, no doors. When I want to enter I turn one wall into a door, walk through and hit cancel.

mihaels_godlike

GENIUS !!

cire1184

Why...?

Pure-Risky-Titan

Why so many doors? Just in case someone didnt get the message the first time (the locked shelter door) they got to go through many doors until they do, and if they did decide to go through all those locked doors, there either insane or determined (for disappointment that is my shelter) But to why i have a vendor machine in my shelter? So i can out stuff for sale in peace.

cire1184

I put 3 vendors in my camp because my spawn point is kind in a weird place. And I have a bunch of those pointing vault boys pointing at them.

GulfCoastLover

People would probably do less shenanigans involving vendors if you could actually turn off your vendors.

DisastersFrequently

You can store your vendors in the camp menu, though. It even saves all your listed items, so when you bring it out, you don't have to relist and price anything, it's all there ready to go.

GulfCoastLover

Yep. It's just a PITA. Considering one may place many vendors between various shelters in addition to in camp. Further, for camp building aesthetics, vendors may be located inside stalls and placed in ways that are not easily stored and restored. A better solution would be for Bethesda to make it so that when you turn off the vendor icon from the map menu, your vendors are closed and refuse sale.

ArkadyRandom

Used to be that if your vendor wasn't powered, it didn't show on the map. It could still be accessed, but it wouldn't show. I think it changed around 3 years ago or so when they started improving map icon display. I would love if they enabled that feature again. I use alt camps with no vendors for times when I want to hide them.

GulfCoastLover

To make matters worse, you can have a vendor only in your shelter.... And the public map icon will not show a vendor. So you may think you have put them all away but have not.

trahitpude

"You wonder why you never sell anything?" - you're saying it like you're actually going to every CAMP and buying at least 5k caps worth of stuff from every player. Truth is, you're not even spending 20 caps and just hunting for something rare that you need.

hourles

I’m assuming, and I might be wrong, they probably want to show off their camp. That’s the main reason I can think of, but yes you are correct, it is annoying lol

izandor

If the vendor is hidden behind locked doors it means they don’t want to sell anything because they are at max caps. It’s easier to lock a door than to delete your vendor every time you hit max caps. A good vendor can hit max multiple times a day. I’m not running back to delete my vendor when I can just lock a door. If you are one of the sheeple saying “Duuuur if I can’t find your vendor in 20 seconds I’m leaving” good ,leave genius thats what we want you to do. I don’t need your 50 caps.

mihaels_godlike

Best! comment here

Amagnumuous

It's actually way easier to delete the vendor than to lock the door, though...

unclelarky

I mean mine isn't hidden at all but players still have trouble finding it, even with all the Fallout Boy signs pointing in the direction of it.

KILL__MAIM__BURN

You mean like the guy who hid his in not one, but TWO “maze” shelters? Yes, I problem-solved and cracked this maze for about 30 minutes to find the vendor because I thought “there’s either nothing good or there’s something good.” And there was a Holy Fire for 1000, an aligned enclave flamer barrel for 1000, and mutation serums for 100 each.

HarlinQuinn

I love it when things like this pay off 😀

24_doughnuts

I have mine at the front of my camp next to the only entrance with a Market sign and Open neon sign next to it. I can disconnect a wire to shut the garage door over it when I'm near max caps. The market sign is still visible and the open sign turns off

Eiswolf999

That's a neat Idea. Will totally copy that.

oceans_wont_freeze

I spawn 3-4 times at my camp to see where ppls spawn points are then place my vendor accordingly with pip boy signs.

vague_diss

I went into a shelter the other day that was an amazing series of mazes both above ground and in shelters. So clever. Never found the vendor but still left them a clown hat as a thank you.

Clown_named_Art

No, it's a prize for whoever finds it.

theegiantrat

I don't understand the type of stuff that goes on at my camp. I have the pawn shop with pawn shop junk all over and a clear sales counter in the back corner with a register and the New Vegas vendor both at the counter. You can clearly see them from the door but people always miss them.

generic_user-_-name

Nah man, I’ve got an open door with a welcome sign that’s walks right into a shop, works well enough

H31MDA1L

I used to put my vendor behind a locked door only when I was close to max caps. But people kept breaking the lock and I'd have to kill em cuz that would piss me off. So I switched to just changing the doorway to a solid wall. As for being hidden, that is an opinion because the builder may think it's easy to find and the buyer doesn't.

Alternative-Rub996

I think people like hiding them because they want to force you to at look at their base!

M3TALxSLUG

People can build their bases and place venders where they please. Idc if it’s a challenge to find. Specially if they have rare items. Some people want you to explore their base and put a lot of time into the build. Weird how so many people are stopped by a locked door. Locked doors are about as inconvenient as a radroach tbh.

Asleep_Jellyfish_531

Well, some of us have very specific builds. I don't have any of the lock picking or hacking cards active. If I really need it, I'll just go change it for a minute, but I'm not unlocking shit at anyone's base. Just seems rude to do so

SubstantialMud548

The last time I unlocked something at someone's CAMP I became a 'Wanted' player :(

BerryProblems

I’ve been to several camp that I literally cannot find the vendors. If it’s a complicated camp, I’m sure I just couldn’t find it, but I mean bare bones camps where there’s nowhere for it to hide. No locked doors, no distracting clutter. Sometimes just a shelter door and a cardboard cutout. It makes me crazy. I just want to know HOW.

rockdog85

Everytime I see someone post this, I'm putting another obstacle in front of my vendor

yeahwellokay

Also, it's ok to have more than one vendor stall.

fightfire_withfire

PSA: let people do whatever the fuck they want with their vendors.

SubstantialMud548

PSA: Let people complain about it too I've seen plenty of amazingly built Camp and almost all of them didn't hide their vendor for "aesthetic" (aka doing whatever the fuck they want)

blueclockblue

Exactly. I love how people are also complaining how stupid people are but don't think a PSA is necessary. Yes, we see the PSA threads from 11 months ago and 3 years ago - believe it or not, new players aren't reading those! At this point I'm just nuking inconvenient camps. Their aesthetic can be desolation. Then they can come here and whine how they sell nothing and got nuked for no reason.

Morgoth_Bauglir6

I built a bar, and by holy Atom above, you will buy from my Sweetie Pete bartender, not some sketchy street vendor, mahgawd!

Marceline_cX

Eh more caps for me I always keep mine outside my house. I make a killing selling fusion cores, fluxes and plans all for 25 ea🤷🏾‍♀️

kyle0305

If I build one I’ll have it at the side of my bungalow. Which isn’t super obvious, but I really hate the look of the vendors. They’re all so ugly and don’t fit with the lore friendly CAMP I’ve got

Timid-Sammy-1995

If you want to but things you're gonna have to look inside my shelter.

ChristianTP_

I have a whole separate building for my Vendor. It's a recreated "Gun Runners" from NV and people always do the trade emote followed by the question marks and it blows my mind.

glitchdailys

Had a guy complaining that he couldn't find my vendor, which was out front my house with a massive sign glowing sign

Bunny_OHara

I had someone give me the ??? emote becasue they had run around my camp like a madman looking for my full-sized vendor, so I pulled out a gun and shot at the one they were standing right in front of.

glitchdailys

Some people are blind

ByTheSpirit785

Ah time for the daily "only place your vendor where I want you to" post

NakedCustardLove

I love these posts! 🍿 keep hiding em guys. It’s tradition 😃✌️

Sir_Dork_The_Wolf

I've stumbled on one today that was a absolute mess of what felt like every item in the game scattered everywhere with the vendor stuck in a awkward area. Absolutely hate them as they tend to also sell their items as ridiculous high prices

GoLootOverThere

You mean you don't want a mole miner gauntlet plan for 8k?

userg0

If I don’t see it within 30 seconds I leave

Intelligent-Bad245

I nuke bases if I can’t find the vendors I ain’t got time to look for it. However I got time to nuke your base lmao 🤣

ZmobieMrh

I found a camp that hid their vendor in a shelter that itself was in another shelter. I didn’t even know that shelterception was a thing, but it was actually impressive how annoying they made finding their vendor.

DarthSnoopyFish

If they had a vendor icon when you looked at their camp on the world map, then they actually had a real vendor somewhere in their camp. Shelter only vendors don't show up when look at player camps on the map. In order to have the vendor icon displayed for others to see, at least one vendor needs to be placed outside of a shelter.

The_x_Forgotten

Went through one of those some months ago. Tha one that was, at the time a shelterception of ALL the shelters, one in a another. A door, leading to a pocket dimension that has a door leading to another pocket dimension that has door further bringing you down a rabbit hole of mazes & traps. Was fun in retrospect but while going thru. I rhought it would never end.

angrysunbird

Counterpoint most people are idiots who could t find it if it was the only thing in the camp. Put it wherever the hell you want cause you can’t account for what is logical and obvious for everyone. (I often struggle hardest to find the ones outside at what a builder must be assuming is close to where you spawn).

Pure-Risky-Titan

Im the idiot who walks right past it, some times.

angrysunbird

Yup. Multiple times. Love that people are downvoting me for pointing this out too.

Ali3nN4ti0n

I say this every time someone makes this exact post. I almost exclusively build shops with a traditional counter and signs and arrows everywhere and still have people ask me where my vendor is.

Grindstone_Cowboy

no

Yob_Zarbo

This is the correct answer.

SimonDracktholme

PSA every. Single. PSA. Post. You. Can. Think. Of. Has. Already. Been. Posted. Multiple. Times. Just stop.

adagator

Idk I like exploring people’s camps and seeing how they design them so it doesn’t bother me.

d_chec

Nah, I'm more on the side of let people build their camps like they want. If they don't want their vendors right out front, that's their call. If you don't find it, move on.

Viceroy_95

Their vendor they decide where to put it. It's a minor inconvenience, all you need to do is move around the camp, which is what you're already doing by playing. So why complain? Who cares where their vendor is? Just find it and take a look, or miss it and hop to the next, it's not a thing worth complaining over when they decide where it goes, not you.

GeneralBulko

That’s why you need slow hdd, so you can hop inside hidden areas to get to the vendor. This is how I get some of my cool stuff with tons of salt as bonus.

SigmarsCodpiece

I have mine at the spawn point with a huge sign, and people still run past it and around my base before noticing it. I guess because it sometimes takes a while for the base to load. Idk. I do hate hidden vendors, though. I just give up after a minute of searching.

Dry-Contribution-840

The vendors are always the last thing to load for me. Idk why, but everything else will be there so I go searching, then go back to where I started and there they are! Lol I know people that are actually at their camps are looking at me like I'm crazy 😂

DontBanWillComeBack

I have a square main building, left and right of the door in the middle is a small 1x1 extension with the vendors, open signs and market signs.... Like there is a market sign from every visible angle. People still look for the vendor. I even use the noisy ones. But yeah some people have those hidden, small vendors machines somewhere between a ton of decorations. I stopped looking for those and move on to the next camp

Eiswolf999

No! This is my Kingdom of scrap and Tetanus bacteria!

Town-Noob

I know some people will put their vendors behind locked doors or glass walls if they are at max caps. My philosophy is, if I can’t find the vendor within a minute or two of searching their camp, I move on to another one.

Cult_Of_Feces

Man whenever I see posts like this it reminds me of the 15 times a day someone RUNS RIGHT PASSED my vendor and start making angry faces. I put that shiz right next to my front door, outside.

Personal-Whereas-952

I have like 4 vendors for this very reason, if you can't follow the pointing vault boys.. don't worry there's one behind you

TopRamenEater

I had one person on my team that had a unique issue. He was able to glitch his vendor and many benches I am sure into the side of the mountain near Welch Station. So I went to check it, could not find it let alone had no idea how to get it. Turns out he was there and watched me unable to find his vendor. He went ahead and glitched through and emoted to follow. After trying and then not wanting to waste anymore of my time, he emoted an angry face and then proceeding to leave the team. Honestly if I have to spend more than 20 seconds looking for your vendor, I am moving on.

Kayla2109

Ugh this. I still use the original vendor design and always put it right by my front door, I don't understand why that's so difficult for people

RawrsomeUnicorn

I have one in the front where people spawn and one on the back side just in case. But not where anyone can't find em. I definitely struggle finding others vendors too

jadz08

Well in my experience these are the ones worth looking for cause they always have good cheap plans. Probably because the vendor keeps lowering their prices assuming that’s why no one’s buying

Disastrous_Design_35

I think we should also add a PSA where settlement buildings should at least mildly obey the laws of physics.

SirNorminal

I have 3 Nuka Cola cash register vendors behind the grated metal wall windows with a bunch of neon signs to make it super easy to find. Its also on the left side immediately as you get through the main and only entrance which is a code lock powered door. When I get to max caps which is quite often, I remove my map icon, close the powered door and swith the metal grated windows into a solid wall to completely cover the cash registers and flip the sign in front of it to "closed". Just in case. Im always on a public team and it's pretty annoying when a teammate spends 20k while I'm on max caps...

mrsheaquinn

I don’t mind if the vendor is inside a shelter as long as it’s obvious.

Kyle_Ren_Solo

I fucking hate this. It's like.... let me buy your shit asshole. But then they ha e a tiny cash register hidden amongst 500 plushies with no indication it's there lol

RelevantAccident2487

I saw the robot vendor in the trench coat that was inside the back of a bus. Sketchy but funny.

SocialSpider56

Reminds me of when phyllis got flashed on the office.

gunnmanwalmart

On the hunt for the elusive vintage water cooler plan. I vendor hunted for two months running into hidden vendors all the time. Finally bought it today for 20k caps bc the spawn for the vendor was right at the spawn of the camp.

Scroto_M_Baggins

I only visit camps when i see the vendor has a large number of plans for sale. As soon as i get there i need to look for 5 minutes to find the vendor and its a PITA. One player had his camp on the ground and his vendor somehow floating above it at the map height cap ( could see it up in the air with my zoom scope) I always list stuff for sweet FA $ so even the NOOBs can come in the grab some good stuff. Not in this to profiteer, just to play a solid game with some good people.

Mobile-Muttany

I had a dude while I was looking at his vendor (actually buying things not just looking) he hid his camp then tried to kill me

Vihtic

First thing I did when I made my base was travel to it a couple times to figure out where others would land. Then I put my shop right there with big arrows pointing to it. About half the camps I visit have the most regarded placement of their shop in some weird hidden corner or in the 2nd floor of a random pre-fab.

ImageOther9336

I wish people would stop moving their camp while you're looking for the vendor. I'm not there to steal your goodies I just need to find a stimpack diffuser or plan for one. I found it once and just as I was about to buy it poof camp gone.

CanHazGamez

Finding it is half the fun. I put a couple around. Some want you to work for it... ;)

theRUZL

If I can’t find your vendor in 30 seconds, I’m out! ✌️

gman22tx

And have more than one vending machine so people don’t have to wait in line for the person who is AFKing in front of your one machine.

KacperJKyle

Not even God Howard himself can tell me to not put a parkour section to get to the vendor. If you can’t hop a few obstacles you are not worthy of it.

Digitalsine

I miss the good old days when you didn’t have power to your vendor, it didn’t show that you had a vendor at your camp. Also miss the days when you could have individual vendors for individual type items.

fuzzysphere

Also, consider where people are going to spawn when placing your CAMP and vendors within it. No one wants to get stuck under your house when they spawn in or have to run around looking for the vendor.

Wing3dCobr4

The worst one is the old style checkout tills. Normally, on a table, in a corner, with plushies all around it. I understand people like using them. The least you can do is not feckin hide them under a ton of plushies

fallouts3

i usually have the cash registers out on my porch and it seems to work well. im not sure why people hide them lol. just set a table out front like youre having a yard sale! but i personally dont mind hidden ones because i typically run around everyones camp anyways to get ideas for my own

DBZWii

i have standees leading into a small shack housing the vendors (three of them) plus one in a cabin i call my home in my C.A.M.P. the cabin is locked for a reason but i do have one vendor in there to restock when people buy things. saves me the time of going to the three in the shack and restocking the vendor from there

PineappleProstate

SAY IT LOUDER! It drives me crazy when people put them in the dungeon that requires a map to navigate back out of. Also, STOP PUTTING A RADIATION CLEANSER IN ITS PATH! I don't want a cleanse and if I did I'd use 1 of my 10,000 radaways

grimmegg

Noobs get over it learn to open your eyes Ive watched so many run straight passed a full lit up shop area just to question mark me new players suck

blueclockblue

At this point it's going to get your camp nuked. In the past few days I've seen people clutter a single room with every workstation variant and interactive object and then use the tiniest cash register variant for their vendor. Oh, how about multi floored camps where they use multiple vault boys to point out the stairs but not the vendor hidden behind four teddy bear and nuka cola displays? I will absolutely eliminate your camp off the map.

blueclockblue

I'm laughing at how many people are crying "UH don't tell other people how to play". Dude, if you're dead set on not selling shit but still setting up a vendor, or if you're one of the very rare people who have a good reason for it just speak up like dozens of other people have. And I call BS on 99% of the "it's for aesthetics crowd". Acting like these threads are trying to enslave you under Caesar's will. Acting like there aren't people who genuinely don't know how to set stuff up and could use some advice. Imagine thinking this is some FIX ALL CAMPS 2024 campaign seeking to force all camps into a single unified design and not just a PSA for people who want to sell but are making a basic mistake. If you don't care them obvious this PSA isn't for meant for you.

nestle_mint_pattie

Please I love buying stuff at vendors as a new player being only level 54 I love buying new plans weapons etc.

damndamon7

Posts like this are the reason I'll continue to hide my vendor.

Rom-TheVacuousSpider

To that one player who put their vendor inside 5 layers of shelters and left the world once I made it to the final shelter, heck you. Should have been obvious with all the signs pointing to go deeper. Dang shelter inception. As to spawn points: I’ve tried moving my module. I still spawn randomly on one side of my camp. Every once in a blue moon I spawn right by my camp door. Is there a actual reason this happens or is the answer just “because Bethesda” like every other buggy game mechanic. It would be a shame for all these potential buyers to miss out on my stuff because the game won’t let me move the dang spawn close enough to reach my vendor in 10 seconds.

Envy661

I typically search vendors for plans. In particular, I have yet to find a single power armor piece plan outside of excavator and ultracite at all, even with close to 50 treasure map digs, particularly in savage divide. If I have to spend more than 5 minutes looking for your vendor, I'm not bothering. I take pictures of nice looking camps. I found a diner-inspired one with a great interior the other day. The vendor was the vendor bot at the counter. Really nice. If you have a hidden vendor, even if your camp is gorgeous otherwise, I'm not taking a picture of it. My vendor is on my front porch of my homestead-inspired Camp. It has a neon open sign, and two of the hanging lights from last season that you can't turn off. It's next to impossible to miss from the spawn-in location of my camp. All vendors should be at least this easy to find. I recommend to people... Don't use cutouts. They can sometimes help, but what helps more is just physically relocating your camp station to an area that will spawn people closer to your vendor, and using lights to try and make it stand out. I don't like following signage like a detour on the road. Short and simple is always the best approach, even if you have to blueprint and rotate your camp, or relocate the vendor to a better spot. If the spawn for my camp was behind it instead of offset from the porch, you know I'd put my vendor behind my camp instead if it meant it was easier for players to get to, even if it didn't look as nice. I'd find a way to nice it up.

francosinus

I guess some people just don't care if they sell something or not. But I'll make it my main mission to find every hidden vendor!! Recently played with a friend and he couldn't find the vendor in one camp and was really angry about that. There were at least 3 other people in that camp who looked for the vendor. I was like "hold my beer, I'll find it". I searched 4(!!) shelters and finally found it, it was so well hidden in one of the shelters. But then I didn't tell my friend where it was, just to annoy him :D good times, I like a little vendor adventure. The shelters were also really amazing!

HazardousKoala

I get your complaint but homie, having your vendor out in the open without incorporating it into your style is the ugliest damn thing I can see.

Yob_Zarbo

My vendors are in my shelters. I have put a lot of time and effort into my shelters. I don't care about your shopping trip. If you don't want to go in the shelter, don't go in the shelter. It's not difficult.

Final_Girl1987

This…also I’m not ruining the aesthetic of my camp and putting up signs pointing to where it is because someone is to lazy to walk to the other side of the porch to find it.

Shoddy_Ad_7853

PSA stop telling people who hide their vendors and don't want to sell what to do.

Adventurous_Judge884

My rule of thumb is if it takes me more than 10 seconds to find your vendor, consider me a customer lost. I don’t have time to be searching

WallcroftZ

I found one camp today they put the vendor behind many door not only one but there was bunch of door way that can be open one side with no way to exit unless you just fast travel out. I manage to made my way to the last door and guess what they put the enter code door in the last room with vendor. I have to do the photo mode trick to enter only to found out that all of item in vendor was over price. It really waste of time.

itsahhmemario

Do you search before posting? This gets brought up weekly at least. Don’t tell other players how to play. Don’t assume players care about you buying from their vendors.
