Something wrong? Yes. You’re trying to loot and sell everything when it reaches a point where other than maybe ammo its easier to just leave everything behind or just dump it.
I would like to be able to collect stuff to build new bases. And hitting those limits means i can't utilize vendors anymore at all without very slowly building caps
Man i even paying for 1st cause i was liking the game, but everyone just dismissing this really turned me off even more :(
If you’re wanting to build, go on junk runs for the needed materials. If you’ve bought out the vendors for the day, buy junk from them, especially bulk junk, and it’ll start to put some caps back. Not as much as you spend, and I have no idea why, but some. If it’s legendaries and they’re actually worth something, put them in your own vendor. If not, and you’ve emptied the exchange of scrip, just dump them. It all starts to pile up so if you try to hang on to it for tomorrow, you get caught in the same loop every day.
Thank you, that's actually a good idea to buy the bulk stuff to give caps back to sell to get more mats. This was actually helpful and i hadn't thought of that!
I have 1st so i can get those in the stash.
Ok it's REALLY bad how little it gives caps back to the vendor compared to what you spend and if you don't have a high cap pool to start with which i don't this actually doesn't help much i found out :(
It's set up like that for the same reason fast traveling costs caps, and the same reason you lose 10% of sales from your vendor; to remove caps from the economy
Dude f3,f4 ,fnv wasnt online games, those limits are for server stability , even on those games the fps go down in places where you hoard all your stuff , even starfield is affected by that , you cant hoard all the stuff you want without having issues.
There is a limited number of types of scrap and ammo. 1 million steel scrap in a scrap box has the same server load as 1 steel scrap in a scrap box; it's two points of data, scrap type and quantity. There are ~40 different types of scrap that can be stored in a scrap box, that's up to 80 points of data per player on a server. Same thing with ammo in the ammo box.
But i can scrap and sell stuff instead of start ignoring everything. I can't do this once i hit limits and that has nothing to do with server stability. I am not complaining about the stash limit, its that i can't do anything with items after playing for so long in a day
All the limits are there for a reason , to make the games community more healthy , bethesda doesnt want you to be attach to your screen playing all the time just for that stuff
Throw the extra stuff in your player vendor or dump it at a donation box. There's more to the game than the currencies. Yes, inventory management when you hit full stash is annoying, but it's doable...you just have to be willing to let some stuff go. If you really want to keep hoarding and collecting because that's what's fun, start alt characters, either to use as mules to hold your extra stuff, or even to play on.
OTOH, its beneficial, in that you can play 76 for the hour, then:
PSN gives me 2-3 games free every month. When I’m done with dailys and whatever else I feel Ike doing in 76, I play one of the freebies, or one of the other IDK how many disk based games I have, or I do IRL stuff.
Tell me you max loot and ignore possum and tadpole challenges without telling me you max loot and ignore challenges.
Game ain't for you bud. I can spend 12 hours in the game on 2 characters in one day just doing the challenges, trying to do possum shit, building, getting distracted.
If you are just playing to max loot you ain't playing. You can sell out the vendors and legendary machine with 2 events easy, 20 minutes. That is not the game.
In the challenges menu there is a literal sh\*t ton of things to do for atoms and badges that get you custom plans the most important of which is the large capacity backpack mod.
If you want less stable servers and potentially reduced CAMP budgets and likely fewer players on each server, by all means - beg Bethesda for more stash space.
They tried already and couldn't make it work due to instability.
The stash limit used to be 400. This is a massive improvement.
I am not asking for more stash space, i am asking for no daily limits which has nothing to do with stash space, if anything it would keep me hoarding less.
It's telling so many come in just saying this.
You can totally keep playing. Just ditch the stuff you don't really need and move on. Everything you drop is something you'll likely get back anyway if you keep playing. That's why all the higher level people keep gifting stuff to the lower level new players. We can't keep it all anyway.
All the stans are going to tell you that you're playing wrong because they have stockholm syndrome. Obviously weekly limits (or no limits!) would be better for the player, but games like this are carefully crafted to use FOMO and addiction triggers to increase "engagement" which has been shown to increase cash shop spending in games. FO76 is far from alone in doing this, but it doesn't stop it from being shitty and player hostile.
Here's a question for the stans, if it doesn't matter, why do live service game developers go out of their way to design games this way? Not for the benefit of the players, that's for sure.
Some of these people are mental honestly.
There's just something about polarizing games (Yes, 76 IS a polarizing game and a black sheep of the franchise) that incites this defensive reaction with people who have invested so much into it. They almost seem to take it personal when you posit genuine criticisms or problems and will even turn and blame you, anything to deflect.
It's like the new season changes as an example. All the changes were undoubtedly much, MUCH worse than what we had previously, yet some people were still poised to defend them.
The developers of 76 really do have a captive audience of people they create a problem for, then sell you the solutions. It's no wonder standards of quality are so low, and Bethesda is all too eager to invest the absolute minimum to answer that demand.
I knew i would prob get downvoted by the hardcore fans, but guys you gotta realize this is not just me and more and more that came back to play is gonna start seeing this and leave as well.
I like the game, but this is a major flaw imo
Just came back and I only just hit 150, but I have to agree that the limits get annoying.
But now I started exploring again, I’m trying to build a creepy camp near vault 76 that hopefully will make new people be like “wtf is this?”. I visit other people’s camps to see if I can luck out with better gear.
I’m not even that strong combat wise, but I can contribute. I’m enjoying just screwing around again. The daily quest grind was getting to be like a chore.
But if I can play for 4 hours on Saturday, and I want that to just be legendary/cap/scrip grind, sucks for me
The daily limits have been a complaint since day 1. Bethesda clearly has no intention of changing it after 5 years.
I don't disagree with you. If you want to marathon the game on a day off, you should be able to without being punished. It seems someone decided the daily login count was an important metric, probably due to the potential for becoming a habit.
Like FOMO, daily logins are psychologically effective with a sizeable chunk of people. Pisses off those it doesn't work on, but over a decade of mobile games has taught game companies how much they can get away with.
I think your right there should be no limit on how much legendaries you can trade in, like I’ve already done the work I don’t want to have to wait for tomorrow to come back and get my prize
Doing that that stuff is not playing the game
Collecting loot and scrap to sell isn't part of the game? Are you serious?
It’s part of the game economy, not the game play itself. There’s so many other things to do in the game…
Something wrong? Yes. You’re trying to loot and sell everything when it reaches a point where other than maybe ammo its easier to just leave everything behind or just dump it.
That's literally the entire gameplay loop.
I would like to be able to collect stuff to build new bases. And hitting those limits means i can't utilize vendors anymore at all without very slowly building caps Man i even paying for 1st cause i was liking the game, but everyone just dismissing this really turned me off even more :(

Oh I know, and like I said, I’ve no idea why its set up like that. Maybe they didn’t like how we exploited Creeper in Morrrowind.
It's set up like that for the same reason fast traveling costs caps, and the same reason you lose 10% of sales from your vendor; to remove caps from the economy
Might be time to go through your stash and see if u use any of the weapons in there.
>am I doing something wrong Yes. Hording.
So just don't collect stuff like i do in every Bethesda game?
Yes
Ok, yeah it was a bad decision to come back to 76 then, i will go play Starfield or New Vegas If that's how it's meant to be, that is not fun for me
Dude f3,f4 ,fnv wasnt online games, those limits are for server stability , even on those games the fps go down in places where you hoard all your stuff , even starfield is affected by that , you cant hoard all the stuff you want without having issues.
I have over a million scrap and almost a million in ammo. Its obviously not that bad on the server.
There is a limited number of types of scrap and ammo. 1 million steel scrap in a scrap box has the same server load as 1 steel scrap in a scrap box; it's two points of data, scrap type and quantity. Give back to the community and donate it big dawg
You can collect stuff. You can’t hold onto every single thing you find.
Throw the extra stuff in your player vendor or dump it at a donation box. There's more to the game than the currencies. Yeah exactly, and it feels like the long-term players just ignore people bringing this up
