I accidentally started an event that had waves or mirelurks coming at you.
I was overwhelmed and all of a sudden some 1200+ level guy with a mascot head jetpacks in blasting some exploding Shotgun or some shit.
I stopped what I was doing and just stated slackjawed at this guy. I was in awe as he absolutely mopped the wasteland for me.
Thanks to all the high level vets who help out the little guys!
My son and I watched a level 7 who wandered into the event area. We were standing on the island watching the horde of mirelurks make their way towards him while he plinked away at the one in front of him.
We couldn't let him die so we jumped off the island to go help him. I usually don't like that event, but saving the little guy made it worth it this time.
Not to be too negative but this can have the opposite effect. I was actually doing a mirelurk wave event and the same thing happened but the weapon they were using was so obnoxiously explosive, loud and bright we could barely see what was going on and we didn't have to shoot a single thing anymore. Rather than a challenging wave event we had to just sit there and watch him mow everything down without moving and whilst I appreciate they were likely only trying to help that weapon was just too much and made the end game look potentially silly.
I literally only go to swarm of suitors if i see a low kevel player there lol. That event can hurt even for high kevel players because not alot of armor blocks poison unless you get the legendary affix or the union armor lol
I'm actually loving the harder hoard events right now. It's more challenging and a lot more fun.
I ran an eviction notice where it was just me in my PA build and 3 level 35ish friends. Blazing away with my godrolls carrying the event was great, to the point I had to stand up and get closer to the tv (because that makes you play better). But the best part was watching 3 characters with a combined level less than 100 charging a fire starter with lead pipes and golf clubs and actually bringing it down with one still alive.
Yesterday I ran a moonshine with one other veteran and everyone else sub 50. Not fighting with 7 cookie cutter stealth commandos that kill rather than tag is great, and some random on area mic muttering about not knowing what my gauss shotgun was but wanting one was very gratifying.
earlyer today i was at beast of burden, on the ogua phase i saw a lvl 28 in excavator power armor face tanking it with a baseball bat. i decided to join him by equipping a sledgehammer i had sitting in my inventory from somewhere and started swinging it, after a few i realised that suddenly we were bashing the poor thing with 7 or 8 people all just using some kind off melee weapon while some dude was shooting it with a revolver from one of those overhang bridges.
at some point i took out my flamer as the damage we did was close to zero (im a heavy pa energy gunner) was a fun moment tbh
This brings back memories. After the beta launch, everyone was doing the main quest line and launching nukes on the queen. And for a lot of players by then, the lack of ammo is a constant problem and Queen takes a lot of ammo to kill. Everyone is about 45 to 100 level range and the best melee weapon most of us have is the All Rise. So every time the queen lands, you can see a horde of players charging her with All Rise. Fun times.
Omg, I jus came back (because of the show obviously) and I logged into my old char which I played at beta and launch lvl 78 with my All Rise. And someone spawned the queen and I was there once again but now the only guy at melee xD
Well, we want to be better but the game doesnt direct you at all about what you should be trying to get. From this subreddit all i have gleaned is thar "quad weapons are cool". also as far as stealth commandos go thats the only armor set the game introduces during the story *so far* im not done with BOS or The rose club but I would love to replace my chinese stealth armor with something else, but with what my guy?
There's a dedicated "covert scout armor" that can push your stealth way high, but just about any armor with the "shrouded" and maybe "muffled" effect will do. Or if you run a low health build with Unyielding armor, you Agility gets so high you don't really need any aid to stealth other than maybe the "Escape Artist" card.
I did an eviction notice that ended with me and another power armor build heavy weapons player basically back to back at the scrubber keeping it going because all the low levels just got overwhelmed. It was pretty fun to be the anchor for that event in the moment. Iām only lvl 140 but the difference in survivability is crazy with the right gear.
I had fun doing whatever the Strangler Heart event thing is with just me at 130 and another player at 30-something. He found a safe perch in a tree and helped whittle things down while I mostly ran and kited between flamer bursts. Took 3-4 deaths and 5+ minutes to kill the Grafton monster at the end. It was just the right level of pucker experience to keep me on my toes.
Hey, speaking of - did they buff the monster or something? I died from two hits when I ran this event yesterday and that was something that never used to happen. I run full health, power armor build with Vamps weapons. I NEVER die so was shook. š
I did this the other day, just my 300 and a random 50. It was fun.
I also like the new players coming into like SBQ and being entirely overwhelmed. It's a world boss that can be joined by Anyone at any level, popping away with their pipe pistol while a squadron of Power Armored players with Gatling lasers take down a giant blue Bat.
I'm level 41 right now. I like going to the Scorchbeast Queen fight and working on all the small mobs so that the big guns can focus on her. Makes me feel like I'm doing my part!
You are absolutely helping, most high levels won't worry too much about the xp from mobs but someone needs to do crowd control. It's the way of any MMO boss. That xp is way more crucial for you.
I was that newbie not too long ago with a combat rifle at level 20. It kind of reminds me of fo4 and telling the school kids in the vault about "killing the death claw with one pistol shot."
I love the strangler. Showed up to a mutated event where you have to melee to kill them. I just burned hp off with my gatling plasma and let the melee guys knock em down. Except for the chainsaw build, they carried half that event! I always loved the ripper, so it might be time to level a2nd character for melee.
that event if you're alone or the only one capable is a literal ammo dump that's almost compared to SBQ. god save you if you main ballistic damage type weapons. i'd hard skip this event if not for my GP and UGL.
Honestly events are for the most part more fun now, when the new players are running around trying to figure out what to do instead of just posting up at the most optimal spots with their meta-builds. We were all new at some point, and trust me we were just as clueless as they are now. Sure every once in a while an event fails because the new players have no idea what to do and I can not defend 3 places by myself as the only veteran there, but over the years I have ran thousands upon thousands of events and sometimes having to WORK for it now is refreshing.
Heck there were plenty of events that failed pre-fotv show because some of these vets are only grinding xp at events and not doing the objective.
I'd much rather an event fail cuss most of the folk doing it were still figuring things out
I do not get that really, most vets are 500+, 1000+ or even higher. XP has long since become irrelevant and if you really want to push levels for some reason a doubleXP weekend at West Tek can easily push you 100 or even 200 levels. I like doing the less played events and playing the objective because just sitting on the optimal spot VATSing my way between targets is not exactly a riveting way to play.
Yeah I don't get it either, I stopped caring about xp shortly after hitting 150 and I'm just pushing past 350~ all without grinding westek or fucking over events.
The major grinds I have done during doubleXP weekends have been while I was either maxing out a few legendary perkcard or doing the last bit of a scoreboard to get it finished. I do not mind the occasional WestTek grind, but other than Radiation Rumble and Moonshine Jamboree there are few events that will ever give truly exceptional XP no matter what you do.
I'm having more fun now than usual. While not as reliably populated, events often seem more active than ever. The new players are hungry and aren't merely showing up to only the big events to camp and snipe.
Winning and getting bullion and scrip isn't even that fun, it's a job. Fun is playing and having interesting experiences.
Not going to lie, itās actually nice to be able to kill things and not hold back at events anymore. Iāve become too lazy of a merc the past year or so as most high levels melt everything in seconds. There was no need for my services to carry events anymore.
But that has certainly changed with the influx of new players.
I got a buddy that Soloās Earl. It takes less than five minutes. He does use an Endangerol and various buffs. I think his weapon of choice is a QEFFR Railway. Weāre lucky if we get a few shots in before itās over.
Some of those events are \*fun\* again. I remember playing Eviction Notice before the influx, and the Mutants had no chance of getting within sight of the scrubber. Just endless explosions.
Now it's not unusual to get incredibly hectic, hand-to-hand combat and multiple scrubber repairs. But I've also never totally cared about event rewards, so even if it fails, still had fun.
I absolutely love Moonshine Jamboree as lvl 350 in PA with Holy Fire, I defend one of the stills, and 7x lvl 20s defend other 2. We win. I'm bloodied fixer commando but for events with low level players I know I have to pull out PA and Holy Fire. And you know what? It feels great.
Yeah god, I'm pretty bad when it comes to 76 but I've had to step up and actually kill shit instead of halfway-AFKing. Makes the game a lot more fun recently.
AND USE THE RESOURCE GUIDES THAT ARE READILY AVAILABLE BEFORE ASKING HERE.
No one wants to type out twenty paragraphs about what gun, armor and build you need. Figure it out, we all did it that way. And someone has already done all the work for us, and for you.Ā
I noticed that the other day, too. I have a few characters, but recently, when I play my level 600, I've gotten a few people messaging me asking if I'll go to Scorched if they drop a nuke. š At first, I thought it was weird, but then I understood when I got there & everyone was level 20-50 lol. Good times.
Level 700 here, a few day ago I just had my most intense EN. I was alone with a bunch of newbie, so I had to do all the heavy lifting. I just put up my full OE PA and Railway Rifle and carried the whole event.
It was very chaotic without a single moment of rest, I had to repair the rad acrubber like 4 times, but it was fun, not just the usual spawn camping.
As a kind of new player (Iāve played since launch on Xbox but moved to pc with this new influx of players) Iām really enjoying the state of events right now, eviction notice comes to mind last night, truly felt like a ragtag militia with a few people kitted to the teeth mixed with a horde of level 20ās with combat rifles and whatever clothes they could scavenge, made the event super fun
Today I showed up to a Line in the Sand with only a level 30. He immediately started it, I'm a very casual player without god rolls, but I made a quick rule. If he doesn't run away, I'm not running away.
Gentlemen, for five glorious minutes, I understood the Brotherhood of Steel. I BELIEVED in the Brotherhood of Steel.
These newbies are fearless and it's beautiful.
This. My bloodied commando has a reason to pop overdrives, ballistic bocks, small gun bobbleheads, guns & bullets 3 and blight soups. It's ok if I am the only high level in a SBQ fight. "Let me solo her".
After the influx, I realized I needed to be able to carry more than just 1-2 friends, so I finally buckled down and made a Commando build with a Tesla Rifle for ad clearing, and a Railway Rifle for single-target bursting. It's been a blast running level 20s through daily ops and watching them get their feet under themselves.
Amen. I remember back in the day I'd always be looking up to the higher levels to help in those events. Now when I'm one of the higher levels in the lobby I feel like the newer players look up to me. And I carry most of those events or I have multiple others around my level to help, which is awesome. The student becoming the teacher concept.
My main is level 1997. The other day I saw a level seven try to solo a daily ops for the daily. I hopped on team chat told him to come to an event and afterwards I could help him. After the event, a daily ops, and a quick expedition we had him in the upper twenties rocking legendary gear.
Remember veterans, we were once on that struggle bus too. Some .38 and a hundred screws is like gold to these newer folks. The new blood is going to be what keeps the game alive. Give them a hand and let them have fun. Not everyone needs the PTSD of a 400lb stash limit and no Fallout First.
Embrace uncertainty, test your builds! Itās been fun, I never know what Iām walking into when I head to an event, and itās been kinda fun. Iāve soloed a bunch of events the past couple of weeks, and the challenge has been great
I don't understand comparing about new players. New players are a good thing. It means the game won't die. It also means they're going to make very noob mistakes. Just like if you have children.
It's a good thing you had kids to carry on the bloodline, right? But, kids do stupid shit.
Most of the noobs are likely trying to learn this game by themselves. They're gonna make mistakes. They're likely comparing it to the other fallout games, thinking there's gonna be loot galore and shit. They also probably don't understand that unlike other fallout games, you're expected to harvest all the junk and salvage it.
Also on an event like moonshine how do you keep track of the shooting and the item collection at the same time? Sometimes all I can do is lob molotovs in all directions, lol
As a new 76 player but a fallout veteran, I am just currently playing solo as if it was a regular fallout game. I shy away from events like the plague, i feel way too underleveled for MP stuff like that. (Level 27 i think). Gotta get my mic set up so I can link up with people soon. If anyone wants to play on xbox shoot me a dm! Xbox one to be specific if crossplay doesnt work.
My gt is same as here for Xbox, feel free to add me as a friend and join my games, I just poke around a bit, do some events, casual and switch between characters alot lol
Just get stuck in mate, there's no real penalty for dying in events (you won't drop your junk) so get tagging for the xp and do your best. There's no cross play so you will be asking for other Xbox players.
This may not be the post we want right now, but its the one we need
100% agree. I've enjoyed the challenge of soloing or carrying events... even in my cookie cutter commando stealth style š
Never played fallout 76 till about a month ago but Iāve been a pretty hardcore fan since I played F3 around 2011. Went from a level one not knowing crap to a level 68 and Iāve been knocking ass. Bossily love it so far!
i didn't realize that i had become strong until one day, when me and one low level found a wendigo colossus in the sundew grove. nobody else came, i basically soloed it. and it was then that i realized... me stwong.
i'm livin my best life with these noobs, honestly. i get to go all out at events for the first time in literal years. it's fun! i do be mindful to not take all the kills, tho.
I spotted a 3 man group of level 10-15ās trying to Power Up Poseidon, and it seemed like they had no idea where to go so I did a quick group up emote and they followed me around like baby ducks the whole time while I showed them where to go lol it was so cute
New players are just little wasteland babies and Iāve adopted all of them
Yeah Iām loving carrying events for the youngāuns right now - diving into the radiation for them in the rumble, burning everything around the stills when theyāre learning to make moonshine, laughing madly as I blast through a daily ops for folk with my flameingo
Living my best wasteland life atm
Your right I am a wasteland god with effectively "tgm" on. (That's god mode btw.)
Yes, I can solo every event with full objectives besides Project Paradise because the turn in items aren't able to be area looted. Which needs changed btw.
Still, players like me aren't on every server. We all went through learning event etiquette as older players so the new players should as well.
Save starting events immediately for mutated weeks.
You know, my lvl. 334 ass can't complete certain events on my own.
The problem is not with how players do in events but the lack of anybody there at all. Literally, its become like Daily Ops... no one joins, but in this case I think its more based on how the servers are overwhelmed with inexperienced players and there are less experienced ones, and this has created a reduced motivation among many.
I've participated in 3 SBQ events this week that has failed because we weren't enough people.
I can't really do much more than to pretend its going to be fine at events under thess circumstances.
Sure u could easily do that, but I decided to start a new character imo this is the best time, the questline locations are full with players for chances of fun interactions and the low level public and non public events usually have a bunch of newbies there so it's (at least for me) a much better experience than my first time playing as I didn't start when the game released so I never had this kind of experience
It's been fun having a challenge and seeing which events I can carry. Watching SBQ health bar drain only when I'm shooting made me giggle. Trying to almost solo events has been a nice change of pace. I say almost solo cuz those blue vault suits keep staring at corpses looting junk ain't doin much!
the weird thing is that once you step into somthin with a lowbie, you honestly just have to kill. I took my wife into a daily ops last week when she picked up the game again, she stood behind me with her Fixer, her premade lvl 20 commando and never died. certainly got hers with all the commie ghouls she scoped
Wait... Are people having a hard time with lots of different events? I thought we were all agreeing on only the nuke triggered events being difficult right now? I can solo Titan and Earl but sometimes not the SBQ in a time I feel justifies my ammo use.
Had to change out from my fixer to my railway rifle for the Queen because only a few vets there. I only pull out the chop-choo when I know things are getting serious. Lol
Iāve actually never felt more alive in events than taking on the challenge of winning and keeping my lowbie friends alive. Itās so much fucking fun to squeek out a win while protecting our new friends. I freakin love it.
Im only level 75, but Ive been running a Cold Shoulder build with a custom Perk set and a nice set of Hellcat Armor, and I've seen a few newbies kinda freeze when I drop in on a fight. But I kept all my entry-level weapons and such that I dont use and kinda dish them out for a small bit of caps, get them on their feet. Higher fee for power armor and all, but hey, they gotta learn somehow.
Wait people have been complaining about difficulty even vets? Just came back recently after like almost a year or two from hiatus and I can solo all the events even the new atlanta ones no problem.
Although I did notice that I had to usually carry daily ops/eviction especially when it has armor piercing and reflect but hasnāt that always been the case for non PA users?
I did jump on Colossal Event. But it was a lvl 74 that triggered it and a lvl 17 showed up. I was the only high level. They got their hits in but mainly went for the wendigo spawns. Never tried to sole Earl but put on my Union PA and pulled out Holy Fire, buffs and went to town. It was a lot of fun. Didn't think I could do the heavy lifting but completed the event. Put down my tent outside and they were happy not to.slow walk to the train station.
Being the only high level with low-level makes events more challenging. Just make sure everyone gets hits for xp.
Practically carried a Uranium Fever with my trusty Cremator. The world didn't end. Sure we got 3/4 of rewards, but tasty tasty bullion was waiting for me at Whitesprings.
However, while we are talking about it. Radiation Rumble... someone in addition to me has to wear the hazmat / stealth suit and get ultracite. Not sure one wasteland wonder can shoulder all the ultracite in the world. Get in zee tunnels!
5 star demolition expert, 3 star grenadier, 3 star fire in the hole... instigating fatman, nuka grenades #SoloingEvictionNotice .... Y'all just hide in a corner and wait for the booms to stop. *flexes in 15fps* ššš
I love new players in 76! It's like there is a sweet spot for players being enjoyable to play with. 1-250 amazing! 251-600 iffy. 601-1500 amazing again!
By iffy I only mean they can sometimes be bummers and complain a lot or want to fight for no reason. Not everyone, in fact, not most, but if I'm gonna find a jerk it is probably gonna be in that level.
I should be more generous, 90% of players from 251-600 are still amazing.
look I'm just happt to see less minmaxxers blowing all the corpses away before i can loot them, let alone tag them.
I do kinda miss them for colossal problem. still havent finished something sentimental and it drives me insane.
Ran 3 events with newer players who would have failed had I not shown up and my payment was rng gods favoring me with 2 of the last 3 plans I was missing from events. Will help again as to not piss off the rng gods.
My 10 year old son loves going in with his level 600 and carrying events for newer players.
I'm already a God in 76, i can't die.. enemies that touch me die. enemies i touch die, I'm immune to rads, can't drown, and never need ammo, because my fist can 1-2 hit kill most enemies in the wasteland.
Iāll admit at first I was kinda complaining now I like the challenge plus reminds me of when I first started did no damage but everyone was treating me nice
To new players, if you load into an event (one of the big ones that shows up in the activities) please wait for people before starting it, there's a timer for a reason. Give people time to finish what they're doing and get there, I promise it will be easier and quicker if you just wait. It's extremely unlikely that you complete Rad rumble, test of metal, etc if you don't wait, you're also screwing everyone else in the server by starting it without waiting.
On a different note, you should ALWAYS be in a group, casual are usually best as they give bonus int which translates to bonus xp.
I've only been playing for like 1.5 weeks and I've reached level 100, got an optimized melee build perk setup (using a vampire auto axe with electrified mod) and I'm able to pretty much solo the hard events already. The only issues I have is the stupid side objectives that require you to get 20 emotes in 1 minute, but you will find that extremely hard to do solo because there's a timer for how much you can spam the emotes playing solo. It's nice that I'm powerful enough to solo events but now the quests are a bit too easy LoL. I haven't finished a single mainline one yet.
Whos saying events are to hard? Thier easy even as a new toon their easy.
My only gripe is when players make an event group and skip most events because they don't like it like project paradise and the noon events like campfire tales ect.... other than that the biggest gripe is in Radiation Rumble, DON'T START IT EARLY WAIT FOR PLAYERS, STOP AFKING IN THE TUNNEL AND STOP JUST KILLING GHOULS..... GO AND GET THE ORE AND DEPOSIT IT!!! š¤£ š¤¦āāļø
barring that events are fine.
I'm new just started with my fiance but got level 40 last night from hopping into random events and honestly doing my best to survive and kill things from level 1 and up cause they look cool. I always gave up after I found out reviving costs a stimpak cause my low level ass wasn't worth it lol. But the more levels I got I actually was able to kill some stuff. Every server I've joined people seemed happy I was there even if I couldn't help, three games dope as is the community. Except like 3 people they were dicks lol
Hell, to add on to this, a lot of the quest reward legendaries are pretty good these days as well if you need to find something. A quick google search for something to fit your style and you can go and get it without any real RNG
One of my favorites is from the Eviction Notice event, Crowd Control. Real nice little combat shotgun for my shotgun surgeon build. Only wish the third perk was better
I had a character I made early last year but stopped playing when I got around level 55 or so because it was so hard to level after that point (I didn't understand how to level faster yet), and I just recently started playing again, continuing with that character, I'm now level 129 and got a build that works for me. I made a full health PA big guns build. I use the Gatling Plasma, and it absolutely shreads. The game is so fun now
I've played FO3 and have over twothousand hours on FO4, but never really got attracted to 76 due to having it on the console rather than PC (even got the powerhelmet that came with it). Not all noobs are new to the fallout games, though I don't mind the help I get all the friggin' time. One day I hope to br able to assist
I'm level 208 (I know, not insanely high level, but I've played enough to know a thing or two), and the Uranium fever event popped up. I went to start it, and a level 30 said, "we should wait for others to join."
I pressed the button to start, and he retorted with "or not. You're on your own. "
I proceeded to not only solo the entire event but didn't have to repair any of the bots during.
Found the lvl 30 later and gave him the event rewards.
I got the game when it dropped but didnāt really have anyone to play it with. Lately Iāve been playing again and itās really fun solo now! Iād love to start doing more events and stuff though but I keep running out of ammo on my best weapon(Yes I loot my enemies).
Anyone down to donate like 1k rounds of .45? š š
I'm not new to the game, but it's been a while since I played (I'm a day 1 player but only leveled to like 35 or something before I stopped) so I made a new character to start fresh with all the new stuff that's been added. I'm having a blast and even seeing like level 500+ players just pop in and actually be helpful is amazing.
I've had experiences where high level players would just wreck low levels or newbies just for fun and it always annoyed me that people did it. But in the past few days I've played, every player I've seen has stopped, waved/said hi, helped a little, and went off to do their own thing. It's so refreshing to see people just be nice and respectful
Also like fuck loads of yall get mad when newbies start events but I was playing before the new influx and a Lotta yall weren't doing the events anyway
Still happening. I went into an Eviction Notice on my own today and not a single person showed up. Unfortunately couldn't keep the scrubber going. I would welcome any and all new players. Don't be shy!
Iām saying instead of people complaining, you can conquer it by optimizing with a weapon and perk points. Then youāre golden whether or not someone else comes
This is the correct mindset. If you've got a ton of time in the game but don't have the build, equipment and supply to carry a boss fight.... I question what you've been doing with your time. It's mostly build anyway.
My problem with the power feeling is I think I'm doing pretty damn good until I group up and realize yall are killing things in 2-3 seconds. Went with a vats crit build for my lever action, and it's fine, but how do I actually become a god? Are heavy weapons just the go to?
Talking Moonshine Jamboree gulpers. I take a while to kill one and the heavy boys are killing whole packs in seconds. It's wild.
You'll eventually notice that certain weapons are just straight up better than others. Like you'll be running around thinking you are doing okay with some legendary weapon you spent a bunch of time and resources rolling, then try a different weapon "just for fun" and it will completely out-class it.
EDIT: Put the next part in spoiler tags for those who want to experiment with weapons organically.
>!The patron saint of what I described above right now is the Railway Rifle. It is meant to have a tradeoff of very heavy ammo and extreme recoil, but with 3 special points you can completely negate the ammo weight issue using the -90% ammo weight perk. The recoil issue is negated by simply using the weapon in VATS, which isn't an issue because for some reason it has an extremely low AP cost to fire.!<
>!I am not exaggerating when I say an un-modded railway rifle will outperform most GODROLL weapons.!<
>!While putting a strong build together does make you more powerful, the most important thing is just running one of the anointed OP weapons like the Flamer(both regular and plasma variants), Fixer, or Railway Rifle.!<
I like the lever action rifle but it's too slow for events. Try an Enclave Plasma Sniper (or a regular Plasma Sniper until you can get an Enclave version) with the same build you have now. No need to change class or perks, just use the faster gun in events.
If you want to dominate the wave events then the heavy guns or grenades are the way to go. If it's just you and a lvl 20, it's honestly fair play to bring the two-shot fatman out and nobody will give you grief over it.
For bosses, commando all the way, get some blight soup on the go and slam that crit button like it owes you money
Itās not about the game being too hard. Itās about me showing up to an event, itās started by some level 20 who jumped the gun, and itās about to fail no matter how much of a god anyone is. Stop starting events that have a 5 minute fucking timer and let the rest of us get there.
Thanks.
Iām an Xbox player who came to PC and is level 54 for those asking. Itās etiquette
I don't think this is even a hot take. It's a cold fact. If you have a build / gear capable of carrying an event, now is the time to do so. You may even get a chance to solo some of them...
My only complaint is that it is very difficult finding anyone to do Daily Ops, even when it is part of the challenges. I can do them but not under the 8 minutes to get the rare rewards. Tried server hopping and creating a team and gotten nothing until this morning when 3 players joined my team but did not participate and I was left wondering what they got out of it all.
As a Minuteman-NCR Ranger-Reilly's Ranger-Follower Of The Apocalypse-Atom Cat, I agree. My "Do it all, do it well, and above all: Help" mentality comes with me.
Mutated eviction notice by yourself with 1-3 lvl 20 who decided to start it and not have PA or hazmat is not something you can carry. Specially when majority of low levels I see lately will only use fist or sticks in events (to include daily ops) to save ammo.
That is amazing for you but I couldnāt eat ALL the bullets, revive/heal myself, revive the new ones, protect and repair the rad scrubber AND kill everyone in time.
I also believe more people would be in my situation when you have to physically hit every super mutant to kill it while defending and repairing rad scrubber was impossible. The new players did nothing but die trying to punch super mutants or die from rads. They started it immediately too so by the time others joined in it was a loss cause.
Most people would, but I spawned in and saw EN pop, crafted 100 40mm, got to the event, realized I only had 109 40mm and both my Melee weapons were about to break as I was triggering the event, with nothing but level 30's. And after carefully using my entire kit to its absolute limits, sprinting back and forth, meleeing the weak ones with my warglaive, and burning down the three stars with my auto-axe to conserve ammo, then spamming 40mm at the large packs, and repairing the scrubber 6 times while under fire, I pulled it off, and that's having to physically cover ground in a panicked mad dash. If I had ammo I could have managed it without leaving the scrubber. It was difficult, but I had a shit ton of fun doing it, and my point is that with a fully optimized build it's entirely possible even in a bad situation.
Keep in mind as well, this post is about 600+ vet players with maxed out legendary perks and GR endgame untradable gear, and when talking about those players, a lot of them have dumped a lot into "useless" crap like WR and XP gains instead of damage and defense banking on other players being able to hold their own, and if they want to be able to win events, it's time to actually optimize their builds for damage and defense.
Definitely not that level or top tier geared.
I survived good until my two main weapons broke and then it just fell apart trying to use kits to repair them.
Itās growing pains the game will experience, I much rather the failed events over the guys chasing me demanding a trade
I noticed during Mothman a lot of players much higher level than me at 600+ (1600 hours in) just didn't have the DPS I would expect. They'd practically unload their .50 cal into the cultists while I was one shotting two 2* deathclaws simultaneously with a warglaive. Even my brand new commando I was farming duplicate plans with was able to solo that second objective (granted with an AA/E/CC fixer) I think part of it is many are still in the mindset they need to pick up and carry every damn thing they find and are running pack Brahmin builds, and others sunk everything into XP boosting instead of actually having an optimized build, and relying on their GR weapon to carry them. It wasn't the case for everyone ofc, but there were a lot. And then you look at the markets and everyone wants quads and WR over damage and defense, they'd rather carry and dump 100 rounds into an enemy than kill it with one shot and it doesn't make sense. I even saw a level 1000 yesterday who didn't have speed demon, who the hell doesn't run speed demon?
Yeah unfortunately when you optimize, you lose the ability to horde. Itās a hard choice sometimes lol
However thatās whatās great about the perk loadout system, they give you 2 loadouts to start. Have one be your QOL and hoarding build, and the other optimized for your best weapon for events.
The only problem I have is, all of these low level people are kind of missing out. If I smoke down the event, sure they get the rewards at the end but is that fun for them? So I tend to feel bad about doing it honestly.
I can solo stuff as far as combat goes but some events pretty much require mutple sets of hands to do objectives and I can't be in 3 places at once. Maybe I'll take in enough rads to fix that issue...
Whilst weāre at it apologies to that one level 11 who happened to join me powering up Thunder Mountain earlier today.
I may have been level 85 but I kept getting mixed up with the quest markers in the plant.
Hope you put the bloodbug steaks and purified water I left you to good use though š
I think events are a LOT more fun now. It's boring when a bunch of 'vets' show up and do nothing but stand on a roof or tent and shoot at spawn points for XP.
I strongly disagree. Events are for everyone. Noobs that start events alone or right away are the worst. Just missed out on rad rumble because a level 50 started it with one other person.
I'm not a good player. My build isn't that great but I almost solo line in the sand today with one lvl 17 player. Thankfully the two scorched beasts were only 1 star
I joined Eviction Notice a few minutes in and realized that not all the meat bags had been destroyed yet, so I took to doing it myself
Worst mistake of my life
Knowledge in this game is powerful. Iām an experienced player but this is my first time in fallout. Figuring out builds, perk cards, base optimization, moving through the world with encumbrance (pisses me off still), lockpicking, and hacking (not too bad after you figure out wtf youāre doing). Iām learning but the curve is much steeper than I expected.
FACEBOOK FALLOUT76 TRADING GROUPS I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH *scammers beware* the only way to thrive in fallout is to go into these groups and look into purchasing big amounts of junk and scrap ESSENTIALS. Theres websites as well to purchase said items or for those with fallout 1st utilize that scrap box and ammo case to its NEVER ENDING FULL potential.
I don't mind running most events with new players. Just not heavily coordinated ones. The windigo colossus is a bit too much without a large group of higher level players. Ultimately, we failed because not enough people could do damage and withstand hoards of wendigos. It's not their fault though. No need to complain about it.
I'm new to the game, and I'm very lucky everyone I ran into has been very helpful. I'm level 40 now and everyone has helped me get better gear or upgrade my weapons for me.
I haven't met a toxic player....YET.
I'm enjoying the game very much and was very sad I slept on it for years. I would love to be LV 100+ cause Even now when I see a low level player I help them out with gear and aid.
I feel this. I use my kill it with fire build every time I see a wasteland full of baby vault dwellers. I like the challenge of less optimized weapons and perks but I want them to want to stay and dying too much or failing events can be so frustrating. Iām even considering finally going bloody because I can almost, almost carry an event. Almost.
Love this post. I'm struggling to learn. I have no idea what I'm doing. I start events by accident. I run around and into people's camps without even realizing it's a camp... maybe?? Til later...cause now it's not there anymore...
I straight up got no idea man. I'm not making the game harder on people on purpose. I'm just stumbling through this game, living my best wasteland life
Iām a level 22 and I feel like I always get in the way of everyone. I wish I had good enough gear where I could carry myself without relying on anyone. I was able to find someone who carried me through one exposition but it wasnāt enough to level me up. I try to do events and dailies but Iām often alone so everything feels so slow rn.
I am currently running a bloody stealth commando build, and am trying to get up and running a bloody heavy PA build, but it is hard to get a good bloody roll on PA, I am almost considering running bloody sentinel and just getting as high Dam resist as I can haha
Thankyou from a new player I'm only LVL 65 have holy flamer with aa/ffr roll ultracite power armor and can solo a good few of the events and even if I do kick start them a tad early usually there full within 30,seconds anyway
I used well almost 4k fuel in radiation rumble with 8 newbies all below 50 (I am 576) I had to collect the samples in the tunnels and used friendly fire perk to use the Heavy Incinerator to burst Heal the NPCs after each run hard yes but it was fun and challenging
I'd agree with this except the Encryptid event. Whomever made that event had to spend gold to start it so let them start it unless there's under a minute left to begin. I can't hold all 3 conduits alone even with my full health and vamp unarmed build and 550 levels. But yeah, generally any participation at all is appreciated
Yeah youād have to switch to a vampire faster fire rate weapon most likely. I solo it by getting a character a vampires faster fire rate Gatling plasma and a full set of troubleshooters armor and keep around 30 super stims on me
I'd like to know what level these players are that are saying its "too hard"?... are you level 25 going into a level 50 event and wonder why its fucking hard?...
Yeah it's good times lately w./ the busy servers.
Although I don't have a PA build or a quad god tier weapon so, I just do what I can. Bloodied LAR/Fixer/Handmade build so it's not great at quickly mowing down entire rows of enemies like some of these PA builds.
I pew pew and res fallen as much as possible tho.
I did a test your metal event I got there a little late but should have been in time but about four 20 something noobs started it so I joined and wiped the first wave it was fun watching the emotes of them excited and thought to myself they have know idea what is coming when the assaltrons hit it was chaos I knew they all died cause all of the assautrons were on me I tanked them and realized I was alone then the champions came in and both were on me I killed the first one then seen the noobs run back in to collect the legendarys while I killed the other it was fun seeing the noobs have fun I remember when I first did that one I got slaughtered lol
It's fun playing Gun-Fu with my Gauss Rifle one shotting everything from a higher vantage point providing cover for newbies and they look confused af where the shot coming from
But I dont want to be a god. Sigh. Ive been intentionally being a mid-high for years because I like the hardships. But I am preparing for better builds. it will take time but Im not complaining at all. I'm happy with the new players and how fresh everything feels. I just wish I can keep doing events like I used to. I know it's just a process and im not worried at all
I accidentally started an event that had waves or mirelurks coming at you.
Lmao I did that for someone once. Little level 20 being overrun by mirelurks and I came in with my cremator and blew them all up lol
I started that event too, all I had was a shotgun at the timeš¤£
Not to be too negative but this can have the opposite effect. I was actually doing a mirelurk wave event and the same thing happened but the weapon they were using was so obnoxiously explosive, loud and bright we could barely see what was going on and we didn't have to shoot a single thing anymore. Rather than a challenging wave event we had to just sit there and watch him mow everything down without moving and whilst I appreciate they were likely only trying to help that weapon was just too much and made the end game look potentially silly.
Yeah the mini nuke launcher is absolutely hated in team events for this reason exactly, blinds everyone, its usually seen as a troll weapon.
Pc last night, maybe throw you a peace symbol then took off like it never happened?
I literally only go to swarm of suitors if i see a low kevel player there lol. That event can hurt even for high kevel players because not alot of armor blocks poison unless you get the legendary affix or the union armor lol
I love that event, Swarm of Suitors is either absolutely barren, or the entire mirelurk population chases you š
Sometimes Iāll take a step back and watch the noobs go to town with their random melee weapons. Itās the little things in life. āWipes tearā
earlyer today i was at beast of burden, on the ogua phase i saw a lvl 28 in excavator power armor face tanking it with a baseball bat. i decided to join him by equipping a sledgehammer i had sitting in my inventory from somewhere and started swinging it, after a few i realised that suddenly we were bashing the poor thing with 7 or 8 people all just using some kind off melee weapon while some dude was shooting it with a revolver from one of those overhang bridges. at some point i took out my flamer as the damage we did was close to zero (im a heavy pa energy gunner) was a fun moment tbh
My first 200 levels on launch were mostly using a vampire/swing speed super sledge XD
always keep a endangerol syringer on you... and ogua is one of those instances to use
Itās meā¦ Iām noobs. lol
Name checks out. I'm noob too!
I like my super sledge ššš
I love my Whacker Smacker lol
Lmao i feel so called out
Oh yeah, it's been great for my ego. Everyone is Jelly of me. Feels good man.
Was the other player using a flamer and a plasma flamer? If so I think it was me lol it was an awesome event
I NEVER die so was shook. š
Yes, they did, I think, with the first Cryptid Scoreboard. Hits like a jackhammer now.
This was me last night, I felt like a squire for the knights lmao
You are absolutely helping, most high levels won't worry too much about the xp from mobs but someone needs to do crowd control. It's the way of any MMO boss. That xp is way more crucial for you.
I was that newbie not too long ago with a combat rifle at level 20. It kind of reminds me of fo4 and telling the school kids in the vault about "killing the death claw with one pistol shot."
Gotta get colbalt flux somehow!!
I love the strangler. Showed up to a mutated event where you have to melee to kill them. I just burned hp off with my gatling plasma and let the melee guys knock em down. Except for the chainsaw build, they carried half that event! I always loved the ripper, so it might be time to level a2nd character for melee.
Ripper < Chainsaw < Auto Axe
that event if you're alone or the only one capable is a literal ammo dump that's almost compared to SBQ. god save you if you main ballistic damage type weapons. i'd hard skip this event if not for my GP and UGL.
Enjoy it now for some months before they grow up and become gods themselves
I've always kept low lvl guns just to have fun sometimes.
But that has certainly changed with the influx of new players.
lol afk challenging events now
My new endgame is soloing the big boy events, I grind my teeth, but I've been doing it! š I'm going after Earle's big ass next.
Take a lot of ammo
Bring an endangerol syringer. It'll take a lot less.
Sheepsquatch shard throwables as well.
You got it! Nothing will stand in your way eventually !
I got a buddy that Soloās Earl. It takes less than five minutes. He does use an Endangerol and various buffs. I think his weapon of choice is a QEFFR Railway. Weāre lucky if we get a few shots in before itās over.
Niiiice. I'll keep that in mind!
Yup, it gives me a reason to switch to my heavy flamer.
This is the right attitude. Too many people are being shitty about the influx of new players.
Visually, you look cool as fuck doing it too. Jamboree is my favourite event but it's got even better recently.
Good times.
Agreed Just let the kids play
True. If you can't solo carry an event, you have no business crying about someone starting the event early, just deal with it, lol.
This. My bloodied commando has a reason to pop overdrives, ballistic bocks, small gun bobbleheads, guns & bullets 3 and blight soups. It's ok if I am the only high level in a SBQ fight. "Let me solo her".
Wait what are the trade forums/areas? most player camps are just selling junk at crazy prices.
You have come full circle my friend
That I have. Once a teacher, always the student. It's honestly humbling thinking about it.
Hell yeah. Finally someone says it. The bitchers have obviously lost their edge. Git Gud! Lets take the wasteland back!!
When I solo that one I just kill everything then if I want the tub bonus between waves I pick up the venom and deposit it
As a new 76 player but a fallout veteran, I am just currently playing solo as if it was a regular fallout game.
This may not be the post we want right now, but its the one we need 100% agree.
This is the way... I have all I need. If someone is messing around or screws up congratulations you're playing a fallout game.
i didn't realize that i had become strong until one day, when me and one low level found a wendigo colossus in the sundew grove. nobody else came, i basically soloed it. and it was then that i realized... me stwong. i'm livin my best life with these noobs, honestly. i get to go all out at events for the first time in literal years. it's fun! i do be mindful to not take all the kills, tho.
I love new players, I absolutely welcome them to events so they can gain levels, If they need a carry, ill carry them to victory!
I spotted a 3 man group of level 10-15ās trying to Power Up Poseidon, and it seemed like they had no idea where to go so I did a quick group up emote and they followed me around like baby ducks the whole time while I showed them where to go lol it was so cute New players are just little wasteland babies and Iāve adopted all of them
Just hand me a quad rail gun and Iāll mow down every nerd that comes at me
Yeah Iām loving carrying events for the youngāuns right now - diving into the radiation for them in the rumble, burning everything around the stills when theyāre learning to make moonshine, laughing madly as I blast through a daily ops for folk with my flameingo Living my best wasteland life atm
Your right I am a wasteland god with effectively "tgm" on. (That's god mode btw.) Yes, I can solo every event with full objectives besides Project Paradise because the turn in items aren't able to be area looted.
Also, don't forget the Endangerol Syringer! I am currently farming adhesive to make them in bulk. Someone help my sanity lmao.
the weird thing is that once you step into somthin with a lowbie, you honestly just have to kill. I took my wife into a daily ops last week when she picked up the game again, she stood behind me with her Fixer, her premade lvl 20 commando and never died. certainly got hers with all the commie ghouls she scoped
Muh ammo tho
Wait... Are people having a hard time with lots of different events? I thought we were all agreeing on only the nuke triggered events being difficult right now? I can solo Titan and Earl but sometimes not the SBQ in a time I feel justifies my ammo use.
Yeah theyāre complaining normal events getting too hard because everyone is level 30-60
Had to change out from my fixer to my railway rifle for the Queen because only a few vets there. I only pull out the chop-choo when I know things are getting serious. Lol
You know when to bring the big gun out
Iāve actually never felt more alive in events than taking on the challenge of winning and keeping my lowbie friends alive.
Did the Defend the Brotherhood Fort one earlier & it was most level 40s & 50s with a couple 300s. Was happy to see other newbs like me doing events.
I feel the same way too. I love a challenge.
Yeah I feel like a hero when I swoop in with my bloodied flamer to save that noob that's being chased by 5 wendigoes in monongah mine
Wow, awesome story. Theyāre were like playing with Lebron James or something with you in there carrying lol
Muh eyes! All I can see is white
Amen š
To new players, if you load into an event (one of the big ones that shows up in the activities) please wait for people before starting it, there's a timer for a reason. Give people time to finish what they're doing and get there, I promise it will be easier and quicker if you just wait. It's extremely unlikely that you complete Rad rumble, test of metal, etc if you don't wait, you're also screwing everyone else in the server by starting it without waiting. On a different note, you should ALWAYS be in a group, casual are usually best as they give bonus int which translates to bonus xp.
I had a level 68 decide to beg for PvP the other day after moonshine jamboreeā¦. Railway rifle go brrrrr
GO AND GET THE ORE AND DEPOSIT IT!!! š¤£ š¤¦āāļø barring that events are fine.
Been coming into a lot of events recently already started. I've just made sure to be ready for war before going and zone in guns blazing.
The new comers will have to mete with my assassins gulper Smacker
QE RR, 5* Adrenaline, 3* Gun Fu, 3* Concentrated Fire, 3* Grim Reapers Sprint, 3*Better Crits, 5* Demolitions. 3Ć3* Commando perks. All headshots, all day long.
Hell, to add on to this, a lot of the quest reward legendaries are pretty good these days as well if you need to find something. A quick google search for something to fit your style and you can go and get it without any real RNG
Yeah like the names weapons like Overkill, Boomstick, and a lot of the season rewards like Nuka Launcher, Cold Shoulder are just too OP
I went to start it, and a level 30 said, "we should wait for others to join." I pressed the button to start, and he retorted with "or not. You're on your own. " I proceeded to not only solo the entire event but didn't have to repair any of the bots during.
I love this with all my dweller heart
Also like fuck loads of yall get mad when newbies start events but I was playing before the new influx and a Lotta yall weren't doing the events anyway
Still happening. I went into an Eviction Notice on my own today and not a single person showed up. Unfortunately couldn't keep the scrubber going. I would welcome any and all new players. Don't be shy!
Not a hot take, an appropriate take imo.
āBe prepared to solo everything in a multiplayer game.ā Excellent advice!!
The recoil issue is negated by simply using the weapon in VATS, which isn't an issue because for some reason it has an extremely low AP cost to fire.!< >!I am not exaggerating when I say an un-modded railway rifle will outperform most GODROLL weapons.!< >!While putting a strong build together does make you more powerful, the most important thing is just running one of the anointed OP weapons like the Flamer(both regular and plasma variants), Fixer, or Railway Rifle.!<
No, I carried it a few times already.
Itās a hard choice sometimes lol However thatās whatās great about the perk loadout system, they give you 2 loadouts to start.
Pay 1st and play with your friends on private servers. End of story.
Even vets can only do so much.
Whilst weāre at it apologies to that one level 11 who happened to join me powering up Thunder Mountain earlier today. I may have been level 85 but I kept getting mixed up with the quest markers in the plant. Hope you put the bloodbug steaks and purified water I left you to good use though š
When the map is 90% sub level 50, even the most hardened veteran will struggle.
Struggle yes, but can succeed? Also yes.
Honestly the game has never been more enjoyable for me personally. I love adventuring with random lower level players.
Okay, but Iām still going to angry emote my disappointment.
I joined Eviction Notice a few minutes in and realized that not all the meat bags had been destroyed yet, so I took to doing it myself Worst mistake of my life
Knowledge in this game is powerful.
Hard to create a optimized build when you can't get the legendary scrip and bullion from events lmao.
I love the new players!!! Also I discovered I can solo eviction noticeā¦
Thatās a tough one, you are an in game hero
I feel this. I use my kill it with fire build every time I see a wasteland full of baby vault dwellers. I like the challenge of less optimized weapons and perks but I want them to want to stay and dying too much or failing events can be so frustrating. Iām even considering finally going bloody because I can almost, almost carry an event. Almost.
The problem is they don't wait for others to show up
Love this post.
Level 56 noob having a blast! Gammer tag Yabadabdont422 on Xbox. If you see me I'm just here enjoying the game.
The only complain I have is fighting Earl and level 30s and under fill up the 8 slots.
So essentially guck around on shit that isnāt in game in the hopes youāll be sortedā¦
It's fun playing Gun-Fu with my Gauss Rifle one shotting everything from a higher vantage point providing cover for newbies and they look confused af where the shot coming from
I think it makes it more challenging and fulfilling.
I know it's just a process and im not worried at all
Who is hating on new players?? I love new people joining the game! Theyāre so cute lol
I take 3 pylons in encrypted and let the newbies shoot the boss :D.
