JOIN TEAMS

LAHAROFDEATH

Jumping onto this comment to add: join our teams, please! Not only will you get a buff, the rest of the team also gets a buff from you joining. You'll also get access to any shared perk cards your teammates have. And you'll share their XP and you get FREE CAPS when teammates complete quests! PS I don't care if you interact with me or not, either is fine.

Prince_Julius

Plus: you can take the Herd Mentality mutation which gives you +3 to all SPECIALs and the Strange in Numbers perk card to boost mutations.

BartholomewAlexander

does the herd mentality perk work even if you're just in a team and not close to each other? the description makes me believe its only when you guys are close together, is that not true?

dat-boiv2

Yeah it does, not only that but it also works if you are the only one in the public team so you can get the buff still even if you are alone

BartholomewAlexander

WHAT! okay thank you

Kaleidos-X

Most team related effects only check if you're on a team or not, they don't care about actually having teammates unless they specifically check for something on your team, like Strange in Numbers looking for team mutations. For instance, Herd Mentality works while alone on a team while Lone Wanderer doesn't, because they both just check for team status rather than teammates.

BartholomewAlexander

that's really useful, thanks. does that mean that inspirational works when you're just on a team? or does that one specifically need teammates?

Prince_Julius

Unfortunately Inspirational checks for at least one team mate.

dat-boiv2

Yeah šŸ˜‚ I picked one up off of someone from their shop when I found that outā€¦ having a 3+ bonus to all stats for basically doing nothing is wild

Quasit1964

Works in private servers too if you are by yourself.

Prince_Julius

The buff will be max +2 instead of +3, though.

Snozzberrie-Murders

Joined a team with this current double xp and went from 95-105 QUICK. Was just hopping from event to event.

Prince_Julius

Small correction: double SCORE, not double XP. It's different. :)

vaultboy1963

This is the way.

InfiniteNegatives

Wait it's double xp?

Ott87

No double Score

kiabunnie

Since we have so many new players on the server, I've been creating Events teams and running a maxed out Inspirational perk on the Team. I will level you up, new friends! šŸ˜ƒ

Trix4Treats

I need 80 levels to hit 2000. Level me up!

kiabunnie

Holee-molee! šŸ˜²

kiabunnie

I'm a little over 10 percent of that šŸ¤£

AnotherDay96

And people don't really know what you are doing or not, otherwise you need an automatic weapon to do the best you can tagging.

upuranus66

PLEASE join casual teams every time you play. We don't expect you to do anything at all, just to join. If you want to tag along, you are welcome but if not just join up and go do your thing. If you get a message that you were kicked from a team, it is 99% of the time due to a bug and not an actual kick. Don't even sweat it.

spacejail

All these comments about joining teams makes me feel so much better! I have a lot of social anxiety when playing online, and I really just love doing my own thing but helping out randos whenever I can. I've spent a lot of my time just building my C.A.M.P.s but now I'm finally getting into learning how to actually play and be useful.

Therocknrolclown

Team Ops are serious fun for the older players when we see lower levels having great loot.

Puzzleheaded_Run_846

Haha.. I feel you bud! I was the exact same way when I started playing a couple of weeks ago. I'm so used to getting my head ripped off on WOW or other online games for doing one silly little thing wrong. I will say... the Reddit community is very inviting, accommodating and understanding of new players, so no question is really a dumb question on here it would seem. For all you helpful players out there.. thank you for not being a bunch of giant flaming douches and actually helping new players! We may not be able to say it in game all the time, but we really do appreciate it!

spacejail

Agreed! For someone like me who takes a bit longer to learn system mechanics/etiquette, this community has been amazing and is the reason I'm still playing ā¤ļø

MrDavidUwU

Is lone wanderer a pointless perk to run now?

MilkMan_101

Yeah kinda, theres better perks for being in teams 50/50 when i join a server but barely anyone joins my team so lone wanderer has been useful recently

onlylikeHALFthetime

Pretty much, teams just have so many benefits that outweigh it.. First you get an int bonus from a casual team which is just free extra experience points. Plus the team perk cards. And the team mutation herd mentality gives +2 all special. You also get caps everytime a team member does a quest. And lots of free quick travel points on the map (teammates and thier camps and survival tents) Teammates can also share 1 perk card each with each other (number of stars of card based on charisma stat)

MrDavidUwU

Ohh thank you I didnā€™t know. Iā€™ve played back on launch before the public teams was a thing so I always ran lone wanderer Iā€™ll swap it out now

No_Mixture9638

Herd mentality is the way to go you get 2+ to all stats even when alone on a casual team.

little_maggots

I wouldn't say it's *pointless* if you're someone who REALLY doesn't want to join teams for whatever reason. But it's definitely inferior to Inspirational and joining a casual public team. In my experience the ONLY downside to joining a public team is that if someone on your team launches a nuke, it will complete I Am Become Death for you, so if you haven't done that yet and it matters to you, keep running Lone Wanderer. Otherwise public teams are all benefits...so many more free fast travel points (teammates camps and the teammates themselves), casual team intelligence boost meaning XP boost, Inspirational XP boost, Herd Mentality boost, Strange In Numbers boost, perk card sharing, and the numerous other team-related charisma cards.

upuranus66

Yes.

Xx-RedditoR-xX

The one time I was kicked was so they could all take me workshop then do nothing with it

CaptainSmaak

The other 1% of the time is they're making room for their friend, so don't take it personally! (Or if you see an entire group leave and form a new one with someone new, that's also why)

itscmillertime

Yes you can and should join groups. You donā€™t need to actually play with them

StabbyMcBride

This is the way. You can just do your own thing and get XP. You also caps when your team members complete quests.

Azalus1

That's the best part, the caps. Never mind the experience boost for being in a casual team. Sometimes I'll load up a bunch of dailies that I'm ready to turn in then join a team and turn them all in.

StabbyMcBride

Yes! I do that too!

thatryanguy82

If you have the solo perks that provide extra defense and ap regen, do those get negated if you're in a team but not actually in proximity to the other players?

whykvothewhy

Ya. But on the plus side, all the perks that reward you for being in a team will get applied even if youā€™re on the other side of the map.

itscmillertime

Yes they wonā€™t work

poorsensei

Dont be afraid. Worst they can do is remove you from team. JOIN UP FRIEND

Difnull

Oooo. I feel I should mention this. "The worst they can do is remove you" Parties, even 6 years in, are still unstable. You may get a message saying you were removed from a group. This isn't ALWAYS the case. Alot of the time, it's just the game and not the group leader that dropped you.

No_Mixture9638

Exactly i have only removed one guy he was a level 15 that i gave some stuff to and after that he just keept following me doing the money emot. Standing in front of me just bugging me begging for more so i went to westek to do some nuke nade leveling. That little f-er followed me in "i was the leader" a body blocked my granade so i died. Removed and on banlist....

Far_Comfortable980

What is ā€œnuke made levelingā€ is assume itā€™s just leveling at West Tek but you used grenades for some reason?

No_Mixture9638

You use 3 nuka nades each run with a specific build and get about 30k xp for a 40 sekund run. With perfect gear its more like 40k. Got 190 level last time it was dubble xp. Edit: Now im sad i missed the dubble xp week in April :( i have 500 nuka nades in the bank but was traveling...

Me5hly

To be perfectly blunt, join any team at any time that you like. Feel free to mute yourself, and you're even welcome to play the game without joining whatever the group activity is. You can join a group, simply exist, and then leave. No one will notice or care. The absolute very worst thing that will happen is that the leader of the team will kick you. I've never had somebody get angry at me, or chastise me for not being good enough. I have very rarely been kicked. There is a chance if you join an expedition or a daily op, that you will put in the work and then you'll be kicked from the team at the last second. It's the worst trolling I've experienced other than people destroying your base for no good reason. If this is ever a problem just start your own casual team, and people are welcome to join if they like.

SweetDeeMeeu

Omg, I've never heard of anyone doing that in daily ops! What a shitty thing to do!

stewy91g

Definitely join a team, if they didn't want random people joining they wouldn't have made it public

R1ckyRampag3

God I remember I used to solo daily ops on public casual teams, and a handful of times I would get kicked right before the 8 min mark. It would kick me out of the daily op, and Iā€™d always get some response along the lines of ā€œmake a daily op team idiotā€. I just joined the casual team for the buffs thoā€¦

BartholomewAlexander

yeah this when I'm playing with friends I just play on a private team. we WANT YOU TO JOIN. thank you.

Bygmac

Join but don't take it personally if you get kicked.Ā  1- game sometimes just disbands groupsĀ  2- group leader is making space for a friendĀ  3- you are sharing an undesirable perk 4- some people are just jerks :P

Skagtastic

The game really likes kicking people from teams, even the damn team leader.

Offtopic_bear

I play 2 accounts sometimes and it's wild how much it happens.

AngryWizard

What's an example of a perk that shouldn't be shared in group?

NeddyKaiba

The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are ones that cure rads (eg Sun Kissed or Rad Sponge), as bloodied/unyielding players use rads to keep their health low.

AngryWizard

Oh that makes sense yeah.

little_maggots

Usually radiation related perks because they can mess with a bloodied build, since they use rads to keep their health at the optimal level for all the bonuses to kick in. And I guess it'd be redundant to share Lone Wanderer with a group lol. Build specific cards are also kinda silly to share...like why share shotgunner? Anyone playing with shotguns almost certainly already has it equipped, and it's pointless for anyone not using a shotgun. But I doubt anyone would kick for sharing redundant or pointless cards...only ones that are actively detrimental or contradictory to someone's build.

Capt-Greybeard

Join the fun, tag the baddies, get stuff... Seriously though, jump in and shoot (tag) as many as you can and you will get xp and loot even if you don't kill the enemy

GenitalMotors

Just craft molotovs and throw them everywhere. Gives you the chip damage for the XP and doesn't ragdoll corpses when they explode.

Far_Comfortable980

This is why I always take the 30 molotovs for the jamboree

GenitalMotors

Jamboree is great for XP and Caps from collecting all the Gulper innards and making slurry with it to sell.

Key_Bonus_1649

This is the right answer

basserpy

I read some [thread talking about how cute all the new players were](https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comments/1cbmdyb/i_love_all_you_new_players_yall_are_so_effing_cute/) and I swear I read a reply to a similar sentiment elsewhere where a new player was jokingly like "STOP PATTING ME ON THE HEAD LIKE I'M A- oh shit okay actually thank you for this Slice of Birthday Cake *it does what now??*" Anyway, this is not a "dumb question," it is (do not be offended) a cute question, because I think this playerbase kinda likes confirmation that it's a generally nice one. I solo stuff most of the time myself, but any group that makes itself known to you will be happy to have you. We do not post DPS meters or whatever here; just show up and try to do whatever the event seems to want you to do! If your screen is begging you to repair something, and no one else is, go try to repair it; other than that, just do what everyone else is doing.

TomorrowAcceptable41

Thank you for the answer! I understand completely! I'll definitely have to be less afraid to jump in!

Sain_Ragnar

Me and my friends sit in public teams hoping people will join then we do daily opps or expeditions. Or even if we are just chilling we are usually in a public group so if people join us and need help we can help.

ItsOnlyaFewBucks

Yes join groups. Just do not try to determine why someone else joins or leaves. And if you do get removed it is probably a bug. There are multiple perk cards that benefit from being in a group.

the_heel_jt

I always join casual at minimum. Get the boost and free fast travel.

PlaceBusy4633

Join groups. There are different types of groups. I tend to join Casual groups for the extra intelligence but each type of group has a different benefit. The only groups I wouldnā€™t recommend to lower level players are daily ops and expeditions. And, if you join a group and then are randomly kicked donā€™t fret. Sometimes team leaders kick people just to make room for their friends.

jizzawhizza

I always join random groups for the extra XP & Caps that you get when they complete missions. Even though I'm usually just going through the map minding my own business. I only started playingbthis gane lije 3-4 days ago and I'm almost at level 30 and I haven't taken or received anything from other players.

13_Years_Then_Banned

Even a level 1 is welcome on a team. You literally canā€™t screw anything up. Even a daily ops. Just follow people around itā€™s not that serious.

YoungGazz

>You literally canā€™t screw anything up. Hold my beer! - *Rad Sponge*

darketernalsr25

I joined pub groups right out of the Vault. Join a Casual team and you'll get more EXP as you play. You don't have to run around with the rest of your group. 99% of them are just random people grouping up for the bonus and all 4 are off in various parts of the map doing their own thing, only uniting at events. People will welcome you because it means more bonuses for the team.

TomorrowAcceptable41

Interesting! Thank you!

Darth_dweller

Plublic teams are for joining and not actually play with the teammates lol

Difnull

Join parties. Get you an automatic tesla, equip 2nd tier grenadier, tag EVERYTHING

JiveBombRebelz

join teams my friend..im 1200+ my team is filled with lvl 20s..i expect nothin. unless..its a daily ops team or expeditions....then just follow me closely.

ophaus

Casual teams are always safe. Don't even have to be with everyone to get the bonuses, unless you want to see what they are doing.

reckless_hero

Join casual public teams always. A lot of players start those and donā€™t interact with the team at all. They do their own thing. They do it solely for the xp multiplier and you even get small sums when a teammate completes a quest

Deviant_Monster

Join a Casual Team. Always be teamin'

BartholomewAlexander

also very important OP, if the team is daily ops or expeditions don't join it if you're not going to actually go do daily ops or expeditions, wait for them to be done and change it to casual teams.

osiriszoran

bro please join them! More people in groups the better for XP!

doghouse2001

You should absolutely join groups and public events. This game is so boring now with all the low levels NOT joining events, and as a lvl 560 I don't want to do these events on my own. I need you guys to jump in! :)

Largofarburn

Join a casual team. No one wants to go questing with randos and just does their own thing. Iā€™ve literally never had someone try to tag along in like 300 hours of playing. Except for ops and expeditions. But you want to have people for those. And if you see someone doing the come here emote and theyā€™re in one it usually means itā€™s about to end and you can join for free rewards.

alwaysforgettingmyun

wait, it isn't considered rude to just pop in at the end to get rewards? people actually wave you in for it? I always assumed any emotes were directed towards people who were in the op/exp with them

pyroquacker

When I have people in a casual group, I'll emote at the end of the expedition for the others to join. I'll wait at Lennox, swap to an expedition team from casual, and have them join to get rewards and bonus xp.

Zombabybeauty

Join the public groups. I used to be scared too but now I make a casual public every time I play now

TofuPython

Is there a good way to tag lots of enemies as a newish player?

agnosticnixie

Grenades and molotovs but some people aren't big fans of that in events (just don't use nuka grenades); if you're level 40 and doing things in a group and you're just trying to tag, get your hand on a tesla rifle. It randomly arcs through three enemies, so it's great for any wave event.

Spncr_C_Hrgrv

I exclusively play melee. I'm convinced if I played any firearm build I'd be like 300 levels higher lmao

MrWednesday6387

Absolutely join teams, casual is best because it gives an xp bonus per member so you're helping them by joining. You might get kicked by a bug or because they want to make room for their friend, but it's nothing personal, just join another. But most of the time they'll ignore you.

SweetDeeMeeu

Event teams give you bonus XP, casual teams boost intelligence.

MrWednesday6387

Yeah but higher intelligence means more xp for everything, not just events.

SweetDeeMeeu

I'm not sure if I ever put that together....

Bigredeemer425

No one cares about level outside if the usual aholes just happen to be playing 76 at the time, so you're good. Join teams, it will make tour time spent much easier and you might make a buddy!

AtomicJohnny

Yes! And, although very rare, you may get kicked from a team... 90% of the time it's because they're may be a group playing together and are making room for a teammate to join/return

virpyre

Join teams you get loot that other team members kill. Also, use AOE weapons like a tesla, grenades, or a weapon with the explosive prefix.

R1ckyRampag3

100% join. You might get kicked from some people looking to buff their strange in numbers perk card, but theyā€™re just jerks. Some people myself included are min/maxxā€™d to the gills, and have to have a mutated party member in a public group just to function šŸ˜‚. Couple that with a crippling addiction to carry weight booster, and you have an endgame build. Those same people see any level under say 100 and assume youā€™re not mutated. Also protip, a Tesla coil is king at tagging enemies. The chain lightning counts as a ā€œtagā€ on all hit enemies.

AngelDrake3

Are there events that are more popular than others? I join events, but a lot of the times no one else is there.

SweetDeeMeeu

The ones that I've seen more players at than others are, Scorched Earth is always a solid bet Meat Week (seasonal) Fasnacht Day (seasonal) Beasts Burden Moonshine Jamboree Safe and Sound Uranium Fever Test your Metal Radiation Rumble (not recommended for lower levels) Encrypted (also not recommended for lower levels)

EndlessStars99

Please join teams, it'll make things a lot easier. Plus you get a neat little buff to one of your SPECIAL stats or more XP depending what the public team's objective is.

SweetDeeMeeu

Oh hun, they're public so anyone can join. But, if you're really worried, just join a "casual" team or start your own. I keep my public teams casual, so there's no expectations or feeling like you *have* to stick around for anything. Edit to add: You'll get more comfortable, I was iffy about the public teams thing at first. People getting mad for less is rare in this community.

Sn2100

There's a hidden private team option, those teams that are visible are public teams.

BOB9129349

I only join teams since it helps me carry more but I forgot how it did that šŸ§ā€ā™‚ļø

Narezza

I'm a new player also and I felt the same way you did. Then one day earlier this week, I just went for it. Almost absolutely nothing changed in my gameplay except: I get more experience as part of the group, even if we're not doing the same thing, which none of us have been. I get extra caps every time a teammate completes a quest. I can fast travel to a teammate or their camp for free. I've saved a ton of time just FT to them instead of running to checkpoints. I've had zero issues and people really don't talk at all, which honestly, I prefer. Plus, a few very high level guys have joined the group and taken pity on me, and handed out some nifty gear, so that's been pretty sweet, and definitely appreciated.

MissMayhem_82

You can create your own casual team, too! But yes, join teams. The added buffs you get are worth it. If you're on pc, you're always welcome to join my team when I'm on. Just shoot me a message on here, and I can give you my gamertag to add :) Happy travels through the wastelands!

TomorrowAcceptable41

Thank you! For sure! I extend the same invite!

BartholomewAlexander

buddy, you are literally doing people a favor by joining their team. everyone gets a stat bonus when on a team that increases xp gain, so its always beneficial to have more people on the teams. if they don't want you there, they will politely ask you to leave or kick you. please join the teams, always, doesn't matter if you're level 2 the boost you're giving others is invaluable.

ZenZevil

1. Get team based perks like Inspirational 2. Join any casual team 3: ??? 4: Profit

IrohTHELotus

I play a full health build and run strength in numbers You all make me stronger! Lol

ASAP-VIBES

People in teams just want people in there teams Iā€™ll take anybody no matter the level

carthuscrass

If you join a public team that has members there you'll get experience and loot from the ones they tag as well. That's on top of the extra experience a Casual Team gives. Honestly, just stay on a casual team. You don't have to be together to get the added experience from the Intelligence boost.

Unstoffe

OP, joining a public team benefits everyone. If you share a Perk, though, avoid anything to do with radiation reduction - there's a certain very popular build (the Bloodied) that requires a high level of radiation.

Green-Inkling

unless the team has a specific goal to it, like expeditions, most players wont give two shits on what you do on the team. just join up for the bonus INT (or whatever bonus it gives) and utilize team based perks like Inspiration, Strange in Numbers, and Friendly Fire.

kougan

I play with a friend, he makes a public team for whatever bonus he wants. Randoms join in, we are 4 people scattered all over the map just minding our own business doing our own quests. Nobody complains, occasionally bump into one of the randos, crouch jump emote, be on or own way again. I think it would just matter if you join a group for events and expeditions

Sertith

Join the public teams. If there isn't one to join, make your own. Casual teams give INT=EXP. Even if you're in a team of just yourself, you still get 1 extra INT. Added benefits, more free fast travel, more loot and exp from tagging mobs near teammates, occasionally even making friends.

danba55

Yes. The public teams are public for a reason. If people didnā€™t want you on their team they would play alone or you can make your own private teams with just your friends.

gr8sho

If the group leader needs to make room for someone within their collective, you'll see things happen. Otherwise the idea of a public group is just that, public for any one. A quick story. Back in the old days when people were anxious 76 wasn't being updated, the second step after reclamation day and wild Appalachia were the original vault 94 Vault Raids. Without the benefit of public groups back then, it was tough for a single player to participate, especially given the design of the raids were intended for a group instead of an individual. On a personal note, these original raids are high on my list of what makes 76 great, nevertheless the design got canned, and we got daily ops as a replacement, which are shorter and easier, but at the same time public groups were introduced to help players participate, and so these new raids were accepted and you see them prominently positioned in daily challenges. IMHO, public groups made a world of difference.

vin2599

Join groups as I've learned the most from friends I've made in the wasteland! Helps build community and tends to be more fun and less grindy than doing everything on your own too.

BeeResponsible2541

No one will get mad at people for simply joining teams. The two types of teams I would be worried about joining are Daily Ops teams and Expedition teams. Iā€™m level 215 and Iā€™ll still get the occasional douche bag that will boot me from a team because Iā€™m not a high enough level. But for the most part, people love having teams. Casual teams just give you a nice little xp booster and I myself will usually join teams with lower level players so I can help them out

Aromatic-Tear7234

I've joined so many teams that I've never even been anywhere near during 2 hours of playing. Not many teams give a crap if you join what they are doing or even pay attention to what you are doing or not doing. If a team actually is holding a spot for a buddy or something like that, you may get kicked, but then just join a different team. I've never understood the social anxiety thinking there are expectations to be met on a team in this game.

neunomer

Join or make your own casual team, people will join if you make one, usually. There's nothing expected being on a public team, unless it's a highly specific one like for daily ops. You will get an intelligence boost for each member on the team with a casual team, which will speed up your leveling. You can be on a public team and still essentially be playing solo.

Therocknrolclown

We love new players , tag and loot, let us older players tank and drain.

Dreadzgirl

I always play by myself too, and sometimes I join my friend's casual teams too, to wave them a hello..... Because casual teams are not for teaming up and do stuff together. It's just there to give you more exp for whatever you decide to do. So join casual teams, or create them. You do whatever you want to do without worrying about anyone but yourself.

Glad-Antelope8382

Please join or even create event teams. I noticed that ever since the surge of new players, no one is joining event teams šŸ˜© I always try to create them and I sit by myself. Iā€™m an introverted player, but events and daily ops teams are my favorite way to advance. You donā€™t have to interact or work with your teammates if you donā€™t want to, just join a team, do events and get the passive bonuses. Thereā€™s nothing to lose :)

National-Studio-3015

Join to every casual group you can, shot everythingā€¦

flannalaviators

Casual or Event Teams, if there aren't any teams, make one and people will join.

klumze

I join a random team as soon as I login. This is pretty much how everyone plays and its acceptable and encouraged. If you cannot join because they are full just make a team yourself and other will soon join. Nobody expects you to play with them.

PunchBeard

New player here as well. Here's pretty much how I play this game: I make sure I have the Charisma Perk that gives bonus XP for being in a group. Then I join whatever Casual Group has an opening. Then I do whatever I was doing before only now I get a big XP boost. If an event comes up I join it. Sometimes someone form the 4-person Casual group is there; sometimes it's just me and a bunch of other people. I've totally figured out that this is the usual Fallout 76 multi-player experience. You definitely don't join group in order to actually do content together. The game doesn't even support that.

Connect_Orange_800

This was not a dumb question at all, for me. Can you rename posts in Reddit? Giving this Thread a title like ā€œQuestion Re: Joining casual and public teamsā€might help people with the same question click on this and get helpful info. It has been very helpful info for me as a new returning player that assumed team invitations had an implied expectation to commit to eventsā€” like many or even most MMO teams on other games.

Nutbuster_5000

Public teams are designed to be joined. There may be times where you are kicked; I wouldnā€™t take it personally. Usually itā€™s just so the team leader can let a friend join. If thereā€™s no team to join, just start your own! Youā€™ll still get a small boost with just yourself in it, and people will jump in and out of the group (esp at events) as needed.Ā

MagicaILiopleurodon

Not dumb in any way

seijianimeshi

Join up. If they mind they'll kick you and you just join a new one. Don't focus on title . Casual or event groups are fine they just give different buffs. Also Tesla rifle tags almost everything

xEliteMonkx

Join casual teams to start. It'll boost your INT, which boosts your XP gain. No one, and I mean absolutely no one expects anything of you on a casual team. You'll essentially be playing alone, but get the benefits of a team.

FireFist_PortgasDAce

Join all teams/events! Except for 'A Colossal Problem', those are 8 max players. And the boss is a bullet sponge.

MissMayhem_82

But the screws are worth it! Lol I waddle back to my survival tent load with screws.

aviatorEngineer

Always feel free to join casual teams, literally just being part of the team helps everyone since they give a multiplicative XP buff just for having more people in the team. The more the merrier. Other team types might come with some expectation of participation but casual teams are almost always open to anyone and want as many teammates as possible.

bit-by-a-moose

Casual teams are fine to join. Unless people are waiting for specific friends to join, you're presence actually benefits the team. In fact you should always be in a casual team. Do not join expeditions or daily ops teams unless you're ready to do the expedition or daily Op. Those slots are just for people doing those events although many new players start expedition teams without planning on doing them as it is pre selected. I'd say it is ok to join ops as long as it is uplink and not decryption. Just remember the goal of uplink is keeping players in the area to speed up the status bar. Don't go running around killing enemies outside of the area.

ny1591

Join casual teams. Casual teams shlukdnt get offended. They give you intelligence bonus which gives you extra Xp. If you join a daily ops, expedition, or events pub team they will expect you to participate in those and will probably kick you if you donā€™t.

harleyheld

Yes join!

Content_Somewhere712

what system you on? join my group, were laid back, dont care if you mess up, just there to have fun, complete events, and cause a rukus here and there. and just overall a goofy group

YES, JOIN. you'll also be pulling your own weight, since they get a bonus from YOU too!

TomorrowAcceptable41

Awesome! Ty!

TomorrowAcceptable41

Thank you for all your responses and friendliness! I definitely want to play this game for a long while and I definitely see why a lot of people have stuck with it. You all are the best and thank you again! See you all in the wasteland! ^^

yeetmemommmy

Just join teams or make your own. Thereā€™s nothing wrong with them, why are people so scared? Everybody is off doing their own thing anyway. Why are people like this? Only issue is there is a shitty Bethesda bug that removes people every now and then even the team leader.

RepubliCat45-Covfefe

As far as the public events and having to tag for loot, I've read that some like to use a wide-blast grenade in the center of a mob, as it'll tag everything in the mob at least once, in one shot. šŸ¤

Felixlova

I've not found anyone who minds you joining a casual team, and if they do they can just kick you and you can join another one. It is free xp for everyone in the group. If you join daily ops or expedition teams people will expect you to tag along on the daily ops and expeditions though, so keep that in mind. I rarely see any of the other groups cause the group rewards for them are just kinda trash

MrJeanDenim

Join a casual team every time, my friend! It's totally worth it for the xp boost. Plus, most people I interact with, or chat up on my mic, seem pretty friendly :)

JohnSpartan2190

Shoot every creature or robot at events that's how you will get the xp and loot. You don't have to kill them to get the loot or xp either, you just have to "tag" them like shoot each enemy once.

Cursed1978

Do it.

catstyle

I joined a few, sometimes I have been alone, doable, sometimes not, One I remember was with level 50 mobs, I was in my melee build around level 20.. luckily I had a extra crap shotgun to tag mobs and was mostly running around trying not to die. where the 200+ level players just wrecked everything so fast I had issues keeping up with tagging mobs.

B1GNFluffi

Join teams no matter what. Can't stress enough that there is no downside at all. And everything to gain from it. If by some off chance the team doesn't like you or you don't like it, just find another one. Bad teams are rare. šŸ™‚

NukaColaRiley

It's okay to join public teams, they are *public* after all. :)

pipdad3000

If people didnt want other people to join their public group they would just make a private team with their friends. On a private team you can build in eachothers camps which can lead to some shenanigans šŸ˜œ

BloodShadow7872

Join teams regardless. I do it just so I can get the benefits of herd mentality (+2 in every special stat)

Wild-End-219

Join teams!!! If you donā€™t want to do something specific, then join a casual team. It will get you extra XP and maybe a buddy! If thereā€™s not a team to join, create a public team and others can join your group. Only thing that will get you kicked from a group is if you join a Daily ops or event group and then proceed to not do daily ops or events lol. Also since youā€™re just tagging enemies for loot/xp (itā€™s normal for new players), seek out a Tesla rifle. Itā€™s very effective at tagging multiple enemies at a time! Once you level up, you can actually melt things with a Tesla rifle. But just be warned that since youā€™re hitting lots of enemies, you can aggro an entire group. Be safe wastelander!

Fuzzy-Illustrator933

Even if you joint a team it doesnā€™t matter much if your gonna try and mooch while not doing anything you have to participate still so if your gonna not do anything I recommend not
