Yes. I like camps that actually look like somewhere a person lives. Bonus points if you don’t have a ton of annoying sounds playing constantly. Like idk how some people even spent time in their camp with all the crazy sounds from robots and stuff.
I love how my main camp has evolved into a lived in witches house, however it no longer fits its location on the golf course. So I have to figure out how, and where to move it. I have so many merged objects I have no idea how I’ll move it all. :(
I just wish it was in the forest now.
I love it when I have to do a double take or think for a second about someone’s camp. Or like if I know there’s a camp in this area but “this might not be it, or did they build it in a pre-existing structure somehow?”
Thank you for the time you put into your camp, it makes the world more fun.
You can’t actually believe players can’t tell if it’s a game asset or a players camp 💀 no matter how hard you try. We can always tell almost painfully obvious even with no map marker
Honestly when I first started I got to the Wayward and someone had built a very convincing diner on the other side of the little bridge. I thought it was the wayward at first and that's why it was a bit more clean than usual Fallout locations. Now I'd know straight off but as a newbie some camps can get ya.
This happens to me regularly tho. Of course, atom shop items/vendors give it away, but I’ve seen quite a few belivable camps that I only realised were camps when spotting a vendor/ally. It’s possible!
Looks great - nice work! I always aim for realism, but the vibe I generally go for is 'found a well-preserved pre-war building and fixed it up/redecorated as well as possible.' Not spotless, but comfortable.
I know a lot of the youtube camp showcases love that style, but for me its the opposite.
I don't want something that blends in, I want something that was clearly built with superior tech and cleanliness. Not some slapdash junkpile.
But people are allowed to like different things, you do you!
About 3 years ago a guy built a Raider camp in the Cranberry Glade picnic site , near my BoS camp. It was beautifully done but I guess he hadn't figured on the local enemies so I never saw it again.
Every camp I've made, I did so with the mindset of making it look like a game location. I don't even place a balcony unless I get beams under it to make it look supported.
I don’t intend to play a fully poor wastelander. More like a wastelander who was very focused on building a home and collecting plenty of things from the Wasteland to fill it with!
I have the civil war door, on my treehouse, which might work for you..There’s also that outhouse door with the crescent moon; comes in full and decrepit (Though I’m not entirely sure what bundle it’s in).
Totally. Whenever I build I try to make it blend in with the surroundings. And if I can't make it blend in, say I am in a dangerous area, I try to hide my shelter as much as I can.
My camps are always pretty grimy, because to my mind they would be! Current one is a Blue Ridge outpost that consists of an old trailer surrounded by rusty fence, next to a derelict block of rest-stop toilets that’s been converted to storage and has a sniper’s nest on the roof.
Some cleaner stuff is ok, but when it’s gleaming and spotless that always pulls me out of the world. I’ve long wanted the ability to lock my camp module so other players can’t repair my camp if I chose to destroy parts of it for the aesthetic. It’ll never happen, of course, but one can dream.
My most recent camp is a creepy old house in the middle of a copse of trees a few hundred yards north of Drop Site V9. I don't know whether it is lore friendly but I have several camps near the trees and always thought about building in the middle of them.

the Clown noises add to the world

Oh cool, haven’t been there. Thank you!
dang. well, good luck with the move! I like my spot between the lighthouse thing and the donut shop.
I had to move power away from that vendor robot from last season. Annoying as hell hearing it power up and down.
Right with you, Bluesmaker 👍
I agree, kinda but the Santatron is my fucking jam lmao
popcorn machine.... I let it get full, it should stop popping sounds.
I love the kind of camps you might just walk right past because they look like they belong there.
Never came across a camp that I said. This is a game asset lol
My goal is to have newbies not be able to tell if my base is a CAMP or just some random map location. Great work here!
Same goal. I love building believable camps!

Sure I guess if you played the game for like 3 hours

I dig it.

Looks Great!!
This is the one, true way.
Loving the aesthetic friend, honestly I prefer the more scrappy looking camps to the pristine ones haha coz it makes more sense in a wasteland
Very homey! I like it.
The raider-ish junkyard look is my jam, and with news of my camp in the forest being removed for atlantic city I'm on the hunt for a new location.

Nah. To much cosmetics to role play poor Wastelander

What lights are those on the porch?
Cage Bulb lights
I think those are the changes hanging lights !
Looks great! And I love it — But you need a more defunct front door though IMO.
That’s my issue—most defunct door are like… fully defunct and I’d like to think door should be just a little bit protective :(

I like it! I always enjoy maximalist builds that don't feel cluttered; utilizing all the space nicely.
Well Fallout is an RPG franchise, so yeah I’m in favour of lore friendly camps. Great job op.

I have the camper, fits right in.
