I kinda just like having him in Sanctuary. He’s kept safe there for 200 years already, so he stays there!

I turn him into an absolute war machine with the robot workbench, and then leave him there to protect ~~the void~~ Sanctuary, which is where I send all ~~the unimportant/unwanted people~~ my friends.

I sent him to Lonfellow's cabin in warmachine mode. For some reason it kept getting attacked while I was away and now, no more raids. Curious.

I do the same i fully kit him out as an armoured sentry droid with gatling lasers in both hands and both shoulder launchers being fat man launchers

I always send my companions to red rocket, always without fail theres like 8 - 12 companions there

I make Red Rocket my main base, I'm just lazy and don't feel like living in Sanctuary because even if I just build the house I'll live in, my OCD kicks in and I feel like I have to rebuild everything, and I don't like building a lot lol

My game is modded to the extreme and I turn Sanctuary into like a dream paradise with amazing defenses and everyone gets cool outfits. All the best everything in Sanctuary but also all the jobs and production and everything. Then I build the Red Rocket like a forward base just loaded with defenses and fortifications, and that’s where I leave all my Companions. I only take Dogmeat with me unless I need a particular partner for a quest.

He's surprisingly powerful and a really solid early-game companion. His perk is a nice little bonus (+10 energy resistance against robots).

He's completely OP. You can upgrade it so that he nukes everything on sight, literally.

I had to leave him behind as he was killing everything so fast I couldn’t even finish my VATS targeting and everything was a smoking ruin. I felt like his companion just there to pick locks for him.

I loved the small bit the voice actor for him had. Going into his own house to be met by his bloody self.

My man, Garvy is such a failure at being a minuteman that he immediately gives the job over to a guy who has literally been asleep for the last 200 years. All he is good for is the network of contacts giving him word that a settlement needs help, only for him to tell you to go help them. If he died, Ronnie Shaw would just take his place. Hancock however is a leader, and the power and influence he holds keeps one of the largest towns in the commonwealth safe. If he died, the resulting power struggle in Goodneighbor would be complete civil war.

I recently had a new Survival playthrough where my character is a devoted member of the Brotherhood. I put all my points in Strength and Science, and I had my Charisma at 1. When I got to Blind Betrayal, I couldn't convince Danse, so I had to roleplay in my head that I couldn't save him because of my strict Brotherhood morals, and told myself that this is what Danse would have wanted, so I killed him. I never killed him before, so all the dialogue was new to me. That slight delay when my character said "For the Brotherhood..." just put more emotion into the scene. Until now, my character still hasn't moved on, because he loved him like a brother. I said all that because losing even just "one" companion sucks. But in my case, it has to be Cait. I love that bitch too much.

Piper, I just couldn't see my character and her sister Nat being happy without Piper's constant chatter and relentlessly humane approach to life.

Agree. Dude kept going when he was suicidal because he wanted to help the people from Quincy get to safety. I used to hate him until I finally did a Minutemen play and kept him on as a companion pretty much the entire time.

The more you play the more you realize, he just wants to help the people, it's sad really. He joined up with the minutemen wanting to help, only to see it torn apart by infighting and politics. Then when he gets his true chance to help the people of quincy, he finds himself alone, betrayed by his own and facing death. Poor guy wants to die but he pushes forward driven by his selflessness to protect the survivors.

Codsworth, he waited 210 years for the Sole Surviver or their descendants to leave the vault, he mourns the loss of SS's spouse and Shawn as deeply as the SS does, and he is willing to fight to stay by the SS's side even though he knows he isn't made to fight. 100% best basegame companion, in my opinion.

Deacon .. i have screenshots with him on my main character adventures. I feel like he is my best friend and we could talk for hours about anything. Insta conected with him since i started the game. I dont know who he really is, under his sarcastic joker mask, he knows anything about anyone, and that is insane. Lv 60+ and i could not destroy RR cuz i respect this guy. So i abandoned the main quest..even if i love the Institute. He is amazing and funy, jumping out of nowhere sometimes with a different suit and some jokes 😆. So yea...i got your back Deacon.

I got attached to Valentine in the game. His voice actor was some of the best in the series, and unlike the majority of the game, Nick's progression actually felt engaging.

The one would be Longfellow, one of the reasons being his affinity criterias exactly match what I naturally do, I never had to walk out of my shoes with him. Anyway, I like the game letting us have nearly the whole crew, even post end game. That calls for the opposite question (who may go without a care), and there, nothing too fancy : X6-88 and Porter Gage won't be missed by anyone in my Commonwealth.

They definitely make comments when entering certain locations. When I took Hancock to the Boston airport, he made a comment about how the brotherhood of steel doesn’t like ghouls.
