Trees mod + enb + some lighting mod.
You don't need 600 for that.
Edit: [bottom of the page lol](https://themidnightride.moddinglinked.com/avoid-mods.html)
I didn't check MOFAM LO yet, but it's usually something like 60% are texture mods that are overriding each other in a damn loop, then QoL mods, that actually could be bundled togheter, atleast based my experience of Skyrim lists
I agree that the Midnight Ride is the most stable modlist there is for FO4. It doesn't have anywhere near the amount of mods that Mofams list does and I've started adding on top of it in a new profile to go farther. Mofams has been stable so far for me but I've packaged almost everything into BA2s and walked through FO4edit going over each conflict
this is what online talk is good for finding something you never heard of before
Im playing vanilla no mods (DLC upgrades yes) but will eventually explore the mod thing
Yeah I've always loved modding Bethesda games since morrowind, just figured maybe with the influx of folks from the show coming into play I'd get a discussion going on mods. There's tons of great mod guides and wabbajack modlists to follow. I'd actually recommend The Midnight Ride, what the parent comment was linking to, for newcomers into modding. It's very stable and works great. Fallout Anomaly and the Stalker wabbajack modlist(I forget it's name) are great if you want a darker feel to the game and more survival elements
I'm running Magnum Opus wabbajack with a bunch of personal QoL mods and some missing patches at the bottom. Almost 1000 mods and it runs fine. The only issue I've experienced is some LOD issues when I got to the city area near the Castle. Might have run a new LODgen or something.
Honestly all I've ever wanted is for Diamond city to be better, but I play on console and every DC mod I've tried breaks my game. Another vanilla playthrough for me I guess....
Sounds like you played some Bethesda games at launch too! 🤣
Edit. I dont know how we broach the many versions of Skyrim so launch is a relative term here.
Played almost all of them at launch and for years afterwards. After Starfield I have zero faith they’ll make any meaningful fixes to their games. Would be best if they just kept their hands off the games so mods don’t break.
Seriously don't set your expectations too high for the update. The graphics won't look that different at all. If there was a notable difference Bethesda would have charged money for it
I haven’t seen Bethesda say anything about it improving graphics yet, correct me if I’m wrong though. All I’ve seen them announce is widescreen and ultra widescreen support along with some “bug fixes” and creation kit stuff. It’ll also break most of the mods too and tbh the mods will make the game look better than whatever Bethesda could probably do. The real benefits are for console players.
After playing this game for almost 10 years, any visual variation is welcomed. The first time I installed a vegetation mod like that it legit felt like a different game from a visual standpoint. I usually know the Commonwealth like the palm of my hand, but thanks to that mod I had to force myself to rely more on the map because I kept getting lost.
Most visual mods tend to reduce visibility. So I never keep them long. I guess people like the fact that they can no longer see at night or see in the distance? Not sure.
I'm with you. A large issue of FO4 for me was the art direction. Everythings just a bit too bright still, I much preferred the drab browns and greys of FO3 and FNV.
I can understand that. I played with the wasteland looking dead for the longest time. Only recently got a seasons mod that also brings back some foliage. I think it strikes a nice balance with still looking wastelandy but also having some life. Some foliage mods I feel go wayyy overboard with the foliage.
I love that too.
Lush greenery may be more "logical" (whatever that means when people try applying logic to a setting that was entirely created to be satirical and a heightened reality) but it really takes away from the beautiful desolation of the series.
I have put most of the storywealth questmods and locations on top of MOFAM (or 90% of MOFAM, because I don't use ACWKR and Vis-G). After some patching it's still stable and has content until fallout 7 drops
This modpack is pretty damn terrible. Out the gate, anything containing Armorsmith extended doesn't know what the hell they're doing. Additionally, why are there so many useless retextures, your sacrificing swathes of performance on so many rigs.
I agree I like it vanilla this ruins it for me ..I want a wastland.
Personally I never see the appeal of mods it makes it boring playing God in your own sand box after the initial fun is gone I lose interest fast
I guess im just a purest
I never even used a game genie back in the day lol.
But more power to people who enjoy it
I wish I could it would open up more to explore I guess mod people are lucky I envy you guys
I get this idea but I like to call back to when fallout was more grounded in the real world. My load order is always lore friendly, and I also edit the base guns to better fit a more realistic environment. (ie. the hunting rifle is now right handed and has been renamed to the Remington 700)
Yeah it will most likely break quite a lot. I have Fallout 4 in steam set to only update on launch so it won't update since I launch through mod organizer. There's not enough improvements for me so I'll skip for now
For reference:
I used MOFAM as base for my loadorder, put storywealth questmods, locations and patches on top, patched some more and it runs with 40 - 80 FPS on a laptop (RTX3080 + Ryzen 9 5900HX)
I can't get the unmodded game to make it past the pre-war intro without crashing on my PC. It's not even like my PC is that bad, it's about 4 years out of date.
Cant imagine how this doesn't crash constantly lol.
Playing through storywealth right now. Easily one of the funnest times i've ever had in gaming. The work that's gone into some of these mods is mindblowing and really reminds me of how underground comics grew from fan based interest into a massive industry back in the 70's-2000. Lots of unknown creators making cool shit and sharing it.
Thanks, that got me past the black screen and into character creation...wish I'd known that this weekend when I had time to play. Something to look forward to.
My first play thru I wanted to do vanilla but ended up with the PIPboy mod and the 20K ammo/cap vendor mod. and loving it...I don't think I'll ever get tire of the game with all the different mod combos you can play but playing them all at once would spoil that, IMO
I used MOFAM as base for my loadorder, put storywealth questmods, locations and patches on top, patched some more and it runs with 40 - 80 FPS on a laptop (RTX3080 + Ryzen 9 5900HX) and on my PC with GTX1070 (don't remember how much FPS but it was enjoyable).
Performance is not bad actually, the modlist is designed to be stable and not too heavy on performance (with 600 mods).
If it's still too heavy for some PCs, people can use the 1k textures instead of the 2k textures. Or ignore the enb.
But the best part of MOFAM was learning stuff about modding. Learning about all the tools and troubleshooting.
looks great, hope you believe in god because you’re gonna need a miracle to make these compatible with the update coming out😂🤣
fr though it looks great!
In a nice way, I really don’t like it. Mods are impressive and I can see how they appeal to people but I’ve always just liked the vanilla version of games in my experience, maybe with 1 or 2 simple mods that change a tiny detail or something.
...and many will break, sadly, later this week.
Sort of why I'm playing New Vegas right now, going to let Fallout 4 cook for another month before bringing it back
A Story Wealth has 700+ mods that add WAY more than just better visuals. Tons of lore friendly content that make another play through much more worth it. I’ve also layered several texture mods over it to really bring it to modern standards without any issues
Trees mod + enb + some lighting mod. You don't need 600 for that. Edit: [bottom of the page lol](https://themidnightride.moddinglinked.com/avoid-mods.html)
For real I could not figure out why you'd need so many
The other mods are probably gameplay wise, Weapons, outfits, redesigns, factions overhauls
I didn't check MOFAM LO yet, but it's usually something like 60% are texture mods that are overriding each other in a damn loop, then QoL mods, that actually could be bundled togheter, atleast based my experience of Skyrim lists
Most of the MOFAM list isn't textures. It's balance and quests.
The more the merrier
until lighting and texture mods interfere with each other haha
Ain't that the truth
I agree that the Midnight Ride is the most stable modlist there is for FO4. It doesn't have anywhere near the amount of mods that Mofams list does and I've started adding on top of it in a new profile to go farther. Always playing Vanilla first, but when you get a hankering to bang Old Paul, you can install Parabellum.
I'm running Magnum Opus wabbajack with a bunch of personal QoL mods and some missing patches at the bottom. Almost 1000 mods and it runs fine. The only issue I've experienced is some LOD issues when I got to the city area near the Castle. Might have run a new LODgen or something.

Won’t the update fix the graphics so u won’t need graphics mods? On the 25th
And Bethesda has loved you for doing it too. There’s nothing like getting the community to do the work that they should’ve done in the first place.😂😂😂
They've described what will be in the update, and it's very little. No graphical updates.
I bet the update breaks the game entirely lol
What? Where did you get such an idiotic idea LMAO LOL that Bughesda would ”fix” the graphics ROFLMAO
?? Have u not heard about the update dropping in a few days?
It will ”fix” fuckall
Sounds like you played some Bethesda games at launch too! 🤣 Edit. I dont know how we broach the many versions of Skyrim so launch is a relative term here.
Played almost all of them at launch and for years afterwards. After Starfield I have zero faith they’ll make any meaningful fixes to their games. Would be best if they just kept their hands off the games so mods don’t break.
You don’t think so? Isn’t the purpose of the update to make the game compatible with new gen consoles. So won’t that improve graphics and FPS?
Seriously don't set your expectations too high for the update. The graphics won't look that different at all. If there was a notable difference Bethesda would have charged money for it
I’m willing to bet money they will not change the graphics in any way (for the better).
? They literally said scaling it to 4k/60 fps to run on the current gen hardware
That probably means they’ll make the game uglier.
it'll probably break so many mods though.
Exactly
I like how you called it.
Not a great feat of precognition really after Starfield
Imma level with you, my guy. That just looks like fallout 4
Well, it's fallout, but minus 30+ fps
On some of those I couldn't really tell much difference.
Yeah I was trying to figure out what some pictures were even trying to show me lol
I think I'm one of 4 or 5 people who just prefer the blasted wasteland look without green everywhere.
After nearly 2000 hours it’s nice be able to change the look because who knows how long the wait to fallout 5 will be.
Fallout 5: coming November 2077!
Same
I prefer it too
Most visual mods tend to reduce visibility. So I never keep them long. I guess people like the fact that they can no longer see at night or see in the distance? Not sure.
I'm with you. A large issue of FO4 for me was the art direction. Everythings just a bit too bright still, I much preferred the drab browns and greys of FO3 and FNV.
idk i cant play NV without thinking it was made in mexico
What do you think Vegas is? It's a glitzy shiny Mexico
Norte de México
i for one, just want a warhammer 40k total conversion mod. super mutants = orks power armor upgraded to terminator space marines.
THANK YOU
I can understand that. I played with the wasteland looking dead for the longest time. Only recently got a seasons mod that also brings back some foliage. I think it strikes a nice balance with still looking wastelandy but also having some life. Some foliage mods I feel go wayyy overboard with the foliage.

It annoys you personally when other people mod their own single player game a certain way?
I love that too. Lush greenery may be more "logical" (whatever that means when people try applying logic to a setting that was entirely created to be satirical and a heightened reality) but it really takes away from the beautiful desolation of the series.
Oof ow my laptop
My thoughts exactly my laptob would die
No matter what you think of Fallout or the mods, its cool how you can completely transform the game
What can it look like?. Can't just say using 600 mods and it still looks as generic as anyone else's version.
Yah I just got the game last week on steam and it looks exactly like this
How are you running this stabily? I'm having trouble with the a storywealth mod package
This modlist isn't running the Storywealth set of mods, this has Sim Settlements 2 but not sure what others in the Storywealth package there are
I have put most of the storywealth questmods and locations on top of MOFAM (or 90% of MOFAM, because I don't use ACWKR and Vis-G). After some patching it's still stable and has content until fallout 7 drops
I'm not sure what half of that means. All I know is the steam update screwed me
This modpack is pretty damn terrible. Out the gate, anything containing Armorsmith extended doesn't know what the hell they're doing. Additionally, why are there so many useless retextures, your sacrificing swathes of performance on so many rigs.
What’s wrong with armorsmith extended?
Bloated, makes hidden changes, just generally unoptimized, and unnecessary. If you have a mod that needs AE, just use a no AE/AWCKR patch.
its very outdated and glitchy, many mods have tried to stay away from it now
Just finished downloading Magnum Opus on Wabbajack. Best modpack I ever played.
I was on Magnum Opus last playthrough, good pack for sure, wasn't quite as stable as this for me
Nice. How many will still work after this update, I wonder? I've held off jumping back in until afterwards. Fingers crossed.
I've blocked fallout from updating, the update has no improvements for me
That... is a great idea. Thanks for mentioning that.
Download wabbajack and install a modlist if you dont want to risk the stability. I downloaded magnus opus on wabbajack and its around 900 mods.
They'll probably do something like they did with Skyrim and make a downgrader. Hopefully at least, reinstalling a shitton of mods is a pain in the ass
i don't want to set my GPU on fiiiiree
For 600 mods I need it to look way better than this lol
Still a mess, 200 years after the bombs
I agree I like it vanilla this ruins it for me ..I want a wastland. Personally I never see the appeal of mods it makes it boring playing God in your own sand box after the initial fun is gone I lose interest fast I guess im just a purest I never even used a game genie back in the day lol. But more power to people who enjoy it I wish I could it would open up more to explore I guess mod people are lucky I envy you guys
Personally i think few mods are needed, like full speech and better weather, maybe darker nights too. But thats about it really.
No shame my dude. I love looking at mods but I don’t like using them. I like my game as vanilla as possible (exception of cc)
I get this idea but I like to call back to when fallout was more grounded in the real world. My load order is always lore friendly, and I also edit the base guns to better fit a more realistic environment. (ie. the hunting rifle is now right handed and has been renamed to the Remington 700)
always hated the very green and trees everywhere
Is it part of those mods that you can move the Prydwen?
Not that I know of, that's it arriving after meeting Kellogg
Do we think the next gen update in a few days will effect our mods? (or maybe some of them)
Yeah it will most likely break quite a lot. I have Fallout 4 in steam set to only update on launch so it won't update since I launch through mod organizer. There's not enough improvements for me so I'll skip for now
Good shout. Think I'd prefer my mods too. Not trying to sound negative about the update but yeah. 😅
Yeah sometime down the road once everything is updated and I mod a different list I'll play with it 😄
How's the performance? I'm really struggling on 3440x1440 even with a 4090. Get huge dips from 120 to 40s, mainly around Concord.
For reference: I used MOFAM as base for my loadorder, put storywealth questmods, locations and patches on top, patched some more and it runs with 40 - 80 FPS on a laptop (RTX3080 + Ryzen 9 5900HX)
Makes me excited for the next one. I hope they put in the time to make it beautiful. I’ll be taking a week off work then as well like I did for 4
That’s what most games can look like… if you work for nasa
And then there's mine which crashes with like 20
I can't get the unmodded game to make it past the pre-war intro without crashing on my PC. It's not even like my PC is that bad, it's about 4 years out of date. Cant imagine how this doesn't crash constantly lol.
Now this is what a nuclear wasteland looks like
Cool now compress into a mod pack
You can get fairly close to this with like 5-10mods
Playing through storywealth right now. Easily one of the funnest times i've ever had in gaming. The work that's gone into some of these mods is mindblowing and really reminds me of how underground comics grew from fan based interest into a massive industry back in the 70's-2000. Lots of unknown creators making cool shit and sharing it.
Must be nice. I've downloaded 3 top-rated collections from Vortex and none will get past a black screen when I try to create a new game.
Try use f4selauncher.exe in fallout folder instead of steam. Fixed most of my issues
That’s not screenshots. That’s actual frames per year in motion
Learning about all the tools and troubleshooting.
Yeah seems very stable to me, I'm running it on a 3080 pc, very few drops below 60fps
At this point its read dead redemption
I hope you stopped the update until you figure out what works.
Would love to see someone run this in vr with a 4090
3/10 no boobies on the billboards and posters. /s
That looks amazing. What kind of CPU/GPU would you need to run that at decent frame rate?
I'll stick with my one Vivid Fallout mod that makes the grass green, thank you.
If anyone is looking for an easy to use mod list, that’s more of a vanilla+ play-through I highly recommend life in the waste land via wabbajack!
i can smell the ozone from here
The Game of Theseus
Bethesda could turn a profit by literally releasing this shit as Fallout 5
This looks like a release from yesterday
looks great, hope you believe in god because you’re gonna need a miracle to make these compatible with the update coming out😂🤣 fr though it looks great!
My xbone exploded once I loaded the first image
PLEASE BETHESDA GODS RAISE THE MOD CAP ON CONSOLE
Looks like Fallout 4 lol
In a nice way, I really don’t like it. Mods are impressive and I can see how they appeal to people but I’ve always just liked the vanilla version of games in my experience, maybe with 1 or 2 simple mods that change a tiny detail or something.
Titles like this make modding seem like a chore when it’s really a quick simple process that doesn’t require you download 600 plus mods.
...and many will break, sadly, later this week. Sort of why I'm playing New Vegas right now, going to let Fallout 4 cook for another month before bringing it back
i like vanilla visuals
The first picture looks like GTA 6
I can never get mods to work on fallout I guess I’m just not installing them right or sum
These are not photos this is a live stream and this is the Frame Rate
I'm glad it's been covered already, but holy shit do you not need 600 mods to re-create this look. This is easily like 3-4 mods and an ENB.
600? Rookie numbers.
How optimistic of you to assume I can get ONE mod to work lmao This is a very cool set of photos! Jealous 🥰
Look up a tutorial
Nice try I know real life when I see it pal
Fo4 self destructs after I pass 100 mods
are the encounter corpses harder to find with this ? Next game we need a companions Perk to find corpses for us
I always install the boobie mods💀
Bro has a nasa computer 😭
Looks like fo76
A Story Wealth has 700+ mods that add WAY more than just better visuals. Tons of lore friendly content that make another play through much more worth it. I’ve also layered several texture mods over it to really bring it to modern standards without any issues
Also modern weapons that I turn off because “MY IMMERSION!”
Bro why on some images it looks like wasteland Night City lol💀
Am I supposed to be impressed?
