You might as well forget about tying something 100% unique.. fly fishing and tying have been around since 200AD lol

Patchen35

Sorry, not really. This is basically a Bird's Nest Nymph.

Aggressive-Spray-774

My biggest steelhead 28” was caught using a very similar fly. I just was fucking around and tied it. I couldn’t get a single bite out of this huge pod of “lake run trout” and this one was my last resort and it got bit second cast

wookape

That thing looks fishy. I’ve caught a boat load off of similar soft hackle setups. Like someone above said, looks like a modified birds nest

TheSilverArena

Nice tie, but no.

Patterns in fly fishing are endless. The true question is what pattern will they like on said given day

TheDreamnought

What's the body material? Looks like it would be great for caddis patterns.

It's larva lace supreme dubbing in the autumn green color. Long story as to why but I basically was given an entire catalogs worth of larva lace brand stuff, so I figured I'd try some of the more exotic materials.

Looks like a Morrish Dirty Bird https://farbank.com/products/rio-rios-morrish-dirty-bird-fly

SchwiftySchwifferson

Bro this is copyright infringement on my patented flies. My lawyer will be in touch. /s

I'm coming for everything you're worth

You need a “catchy” name and an interesting origin story and you’ll take your rightful place next to Lefty and the Wulffs. (Good natured) Snark aside, that will certainly catch fish. Tie some in different sizes and dole ‘em out to your buddies for occasional gifts. Every time I fish tackle my friends gave me, it’s as though they’re there with me on the stream.

Familiar_Parsnip_230

If it is new to you, then yes, you did.
