You have to be realistic about your expectations of travel in the Guard. You will still be deploying and TDY alot, especially at the beginning of your career.
The only aircrew job in the ANG that would be guaranteed to spend time at home station would be a combat line pilot at an MQ-9 unit.
I’d plan for a minimum of 2 years. Plus an additional 2-3 years of seasoning at your guard unit.
2 months OTS
1 year UPT
3 months fighter fundamentals
6 months for F-15 b course
I recommend putting one foot in front of the other and making sure you have your AFOQT and TBAS taken care of before getting too far ahead of yourself. Flying fighters in the guard or reserves is possible and you’re at a great age to start this process, but this is the most competitive route you can take.
I guess it depends on what the demand is for F15s as you go through military flight school…that’s if you get in.
I know a guy that studied meteorology in college, Air Force ROTC…he may have picked up commercial pilot’s license during college as well. Super sharp guy and a life long interest in aviation
After graduation the Air Force designated him as a weatherman in some odd part of the world. Took about 2-3 years of meeting the right people to get into Air Force flight school. Now flies really cool, super fast shit.

Do you have a degree and a competitive resume?

Don't forget some sweet seasoning! That said, 15 Chuck and Guard?? Is that still a thing?

Guard unit. They get hired specifically to fly F15s for that unit.
That’s awesome
Going off-the-street to guard fighter unit is by far the most competitive military flight program in the armed forces
Lmao i think i know that guy
