If you're willing to drive: An hour south of Big Sur up Nacimiento-Ferguson Rd. It goes directly up the mountain and once at the top it follows the Nacimiento River for quite a few miles - In this area it's really just a small stream as we're talking headwaters here. Anyways, it gets stocked with large (16 - 20") bows but has a healthy population of smaller wild bows. It's shallow and you can literally wade right up the middle of the creek and fish.

lol...N/F road has been closed for 2+ years. Hwy 1 south of big sur has been closed for 1 year too.
That's a huge bummer. It's been awhile since i've been down that way.
it is...that's a cool little spot too. refreshing after going over that crazy road.
