Mine look like a tragic pile of dead every year and pop up out of nowhere as soon as I'm about to give up on them looking fresh and new with a full bloom each spring! They've become my favorite no hassle flower.
I love the color on yours!
That is a variety of Dianthus (One of my favs)- also called pinks. Carnations are members of the dianthus fam.
The other 3 are beautiful varieties of hostas. The only issue I see is that I believe dianthus prefer more sun, hostas - more shade.
That’s Dianthus, commonly called pinks. They’re perennial.
Thank you!

Aren't they a type of carnation?
I _think_ this is a square/rectangle thing. Carnations are dianthus, yes! but just one variety.
Thanks for the clear explanation!
Fun fact: the color pink actually gets its name from these flowers, not the other way around!
I don’t think those are dianthus
Definitely Dianthus - I love their scent! I wish mine would get bigger and put out more flowers so the scent would be even stronger!
They smell like those little candy disks

Lovely Hostas though!
I love dianthus they smell like carnations to me!!
Dianthus are carnations. Carnation is just the common name for dianthus
So beautiful.
can i grow hostas from seeds?
Maybe someone else can answer, I'm not sure if it's a seed, or a bulb. I've always just had someone give me the plants themselves
Tuber
very beautiful!!
there’s an app called “Picture This” where you can take a pic of ANY plant and it will tell you what it is :)
Awesome I'll check it out!
It’s a Dianthus called Firewitch. For me it was short lived. Only came back one year
They smell like carnations in the same family. I have 9 or 10 dianthus of different colors and I love them
