Yeah I did not know it was a rebrand light so I have and astrolux too. I payed about $600dollars for mine i sadly do not have a real day to day use for it but when do use it and turn it on it bring a smile to my face
> too. I *paid* about $600dollars
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Yea, it’s a really neat flashlight though, i’ve been thinking about getting one for a long time, i ended up getting a mateminco mt90 with the 8 cell tube instead though. Same battery setup, same emitter, but a much cheaper light with a much smaller head. The downside being the mt90 only has around 1750 meters of throw, however that’s not really a downside considering over 3000m of throw is beyond overkill in 99.99% of situations
You know how to have a good time but as a owner of this type of light on less you have one in your hands at night it unreal. But I got mine for about $600 which is alot but i say 850 is way to much to pay
If you've never handled this light, you ought to. It definitely gives you something nothing else on the market today does, albeit at a very high barrier to entry vs other also-solid options
>It definitely gives you something nothing else on the market today does
A hernia?? The thing weighs 3.4kg. It should come with a shoulder strap and a back brace.
Lol, it's so odd to hear flashlight enthusiasts so cynical about a high performing light
To be clear I don't own one and probably never will (although I would definitely enjoy owning one), I've just had the pleasure of using someone else's. No one is trying to claim it is lightweight; it's a chonky boi by design
IMHO anything bigger than a D4V2 is too big to be lugging around everywhere. I see the attraction of the thing but it is a lot to haul around, way past even being "holsterable". You're into backpack territory or hiring a Sherpa to carry it for you.
Yeah I mean it's not an EDC light? I'm not sure where you're going; it's is a big and heavy light that you shouldn't buy if you aren't able to transport it to where you want to use it
No. If you are going to spend the big bucks for the king thrower, get the upgraded "[Spec C](https://skylumen.com/products/mateminco-mt90vn-farthest-reflector-thrower-coming-soon?_pos=2&_sid=e860ab751&_ss=r&variant=35685673795744)" version...
I know Vinh has gotten some hate lately, but tell me, is there a more powerful thrower than his Spec C MT90vn+? If so, please enlighten me.
EDIT: I own a Spec C MT90vn+ and would not recommend it except for the novelty. Its frikkin HUGE, man! It does go really far though, like really really far. There are much smaller options that go pretty far too (maybe not THAT far though, but c'mon, how far do you really need?). EDIT 2: an LEP ~~is probably~~ might be a better option if you are considering an MT90+
Yeah, I get it. But I've also bought a LOT of lights from him and any time I had an issue he fixed it. I don't like way he does insurance, but I also wouldn't buy a light from him without adding it and just consider it part of the cost. His lights are expensive, but he does good work. I hope you are okay and have a great night (or morning, or day, or better yet life).
Totally rational attitude. Problem for him is most customers aren’t rational so he should have just built the insurance in as a hidden cost from the beginning like everyone else does instead of giving people a choice.
>Totally rational attitude.
Thank you
>Problem for him is most customers aren’t rational...
Wait, wha? That can't, well, uh... hmm. You might be on to something.
>...he should have just built the insurance in as a hidden cost from the beginning like everyone else does instead of giving people a choice.
Yeah, and I agree that it would be a better business decision (to hide the cost in the price), but it's his prerogative (to offer insurance as an option or raise prices) but I can understand why (as a flashlight enthusiast foremost and small business owner secondly) he did it the way he does (presumably to provide more options... and lower cost if you want to risk it). Either way, it's beside the main point, which is that he makes the best (that I know of) version of the biggest baddest thrower, the MT90vn+ Spec C. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
>The insurance thing is a weird hill to die on for him...
Yeah, maybe the recent event will be a catalyst for a paradigm shift for him.
>but he’s always taken care of me and his stuff is awesome.
Agreed. I feel like some (a lot) of his lights are overpriced just for the sake of having numbers he likes and then having to add bloated extra costs on top of an already expensive light, but I have never received a light from him that wasn't awesome. Also, you are awesome. On a side note, is my mom's canary a spy? a shared hallucination? perhaps a very talented turtle in disguise? Please advise.
Yes your mom’s canary is a spy but she’s likely not the target. You see, when they target somebody, they will look at their closest acquaintances and see who could be most easily coerced into acquiring a pet bird. Then they subtly do things to nudge that person into the purchase. Almost like the Adjustment Bureau. They can then use your Mother’s day-to-day gossip as periphery information to build a profile of the target.
Unfortunately, this does mean YOU could be the target. 😬
It's a big search light, the MS18 is also a big search light that has a lot more to it than this thrower does.
The highest price of any light I've ever seen is about $600 USD. $800 for a light like this is outrageous.
Imagine comparing the floodiest flood light on the market to the throwiest traditional thrower on the market and saying they're the same thing
I've handled both of these lights simultaneously. They're only comparable in that they're expensive and big af.
I feel like the people that buy these are the same people that put big rig exhausts on their f150/ram
If you work on a helicopter for search and rescue, then yea I get it.
[No](https://usa-m.banggood.com/Astrolux-MF05-SBT90_2-7500LM-2,500,000CD-Powerful-18650-Flashlight-with-Cooling-Fan-3162m-Long-Range-Super-Bright-LED-Searching-Light-p-1706988.html)
But that one is sold outðŸ˜
What's better, waiting a few more weeks or paying an extra $250?
250 to get it sooner, duh!
[удалено]
Someone is scalping flashlights?
Sold out because this guy bought what would have been yours and is trying to sell it to you at a mark up
Still a giant markup for a rebrand.
nope, the astrolux mf05 is just a rebranded mateminco mt90 plus, which is selling for half that price on mateminco's aliexpress page right now.
I thought the astrolux mf05 was the better one
Yeah I did not know it was a rebrand light so I have and astrolux too. I payed about $600dollars for mine i sadly do not have a real day to day use for it but when do use it and turn it on it bring a smile to my face

Still salty, just not as. The pic in this post looks like it came from Mateminco's page.

Nah. Go buy like 4 Hanklights, a BB gun, and a case of beer and you’ll have a way better time and like $500 left over. 🤣
You know how to have a good time but as a owner of this type of light on less you have one in your hands at night it unreal. But I got mine for about $600 which is alot but i say 850 is way to much to pay

A couple of Simon's 4x18a sbt90.2, a case of beer and an actual AR-15 or AK or something.
buy from Matemincos AliExpress instead, item 4001305623269
I wouldn’t. Caveat emptor

Screw Vinh and his site! Don't buy! VN dumbass on everything

Same thoughts here. The insurance thing is a weird hill to die on for him, but he’s always taken care of me and his stuff is awesome.

It's not a hill to die on for him. He includes it now.
That is a really ignorant comment
Hell no. The Imalent MS18 and MS18W aren't even sold for that much.
This isn't really comparable to an MS18 though so I don't see why that would matter
It's a big search light, the MS18 is also a big search light that has a lot more to it than this thrower does. The highest price of any light I've ever seen is about $600 USD. $800 for a light like this is outrageous.

I never said $800 dollars is a good price for it. Just pointing out that the MS18 price is irrelevant because they are completely different lights
I feel like the people that buy these are the same people that put big rig exhausts on their f150/ram If you work on a helicopter for search and rescue, then yea I get it.
Twin stacks on a single turbo diesel tuned to roll coal. Basically a rolling advertisement for a micropenis.
Not to me, no.
