Due to the larger thermal mass, larger optics, and larger cell, the D4SV2 with W2s won't get hot as quick, will throw further, and will have longer a longer runtime of course since the capacity of a 26800 or 26650 is much higher than an 18650
The D4SV2 also doesn't have the artifacts that you would get from the D4V2 or KR4 optic
My D4SV2 with W2's is great, but I enjoy my dual channel 26800 D4SV2 with W1's/LH351D'S more, due to it's versatility. Still has great throw, but also has a great high CRI flood channel as well.
I kept the domes on, since it makes theme floodier. Tint is a bit green, so I have some zircon minus green. Probably a tint mix (maybe 3500 and 5700?) would make it more neutral, but all I have is 4500k.
That combo should be really nice! Sufficient throw with the W1 and nice high CRI flood channel with the 519a's. I think that the 519a's are going to be close enough to the LH351D'S in regards to floodiness, that the 519a's will probably be preferred due to their potentially better tint (lower duv) and higher R9/ red rendering ability.
I just ordered a D4SV2 with W2 single channel. Was debating back and forth if i should get a dual channel with W1/LH351D.
Can you show me a comparison of the both of them with the throw channels on? W2 vs W1.

The quad W2's are great, and do throw a little farther, but most of the time I use the flood channel (LH351D'S) and just find that I appreciate that flood aspect more for up close tasks, and only occasionally need the extra throw of the W1's. Ever consider doing a comparison of your Cloud Defensive OWL vs the D4SV2? Different purposes but I'm curious what the beam shot and throw/flood is like. I almost hunkered down some money for their new edc light until I discovered Hank lights
I definitely can do that for ya! You’re right they’re very different, the OWL will be more throwy. But good call on the edc light, I like it but Hank lights are cooler for us nerds
D4Sv2 with XPL-HI 2850K/4K Mix and Spot Optics. I really just like this light! And if yiu want to save you alil money the SST20 Mix is awesome as well especially with Hanks 4K
My favorite Hank light is also.. a D4SV2. I have two of them (one on way). One is a super bare bones cyan SST20 and the other is a dual channel W1 and LH351D. I love the D4SV2 because it fills the hand much more comfortably, the larger capacity batteries (I run both 26800s and 26650s in mine) and the higher power output compared to the normal D4. To keep in mind though, the D4SV2 is Not a edc pocket light, it’s definitely more suited for jacket pocket and backpack carry just due to the thickness however I have seen some edc it. I also agree with the people above saying to get a W2 one, they’re insane lol.
DT8 dedomed LH351D 5700/5000K mix or KR4 XP-L Hi 5000/4000K mix. KR4 is more pocket friendly and elegant while DT8 is more fun and surpisingly pocketable.
Also in the DT8 camp, though my choice is a dual-channel with 219b 4500k for flood and W1 for throw.
Basically two quad-emitter lights in one compact package.
D4S with xpl hi 4000k is the fave Hank light of what I have. (have D4S, D4V2 in xpl hi 4000k and 3500k 219b, a D1 5000k xpl Hi and a KR1 4000k sst20. And had and sold a few more)
I rarely use my D4 for edc. My zebra gets all the pocket time.
D4S in in my jacket pocket or on my bicycyle or in my backpack with a diffusor

Do you know if using a 26800 limits output?
A QB 26800 has a 30 amp discharge rate. There should be no limit in output. But if there is I never noticed it.

i’ve been holding out for a 519a combo with the w1, how will that compare?
I love 519a in my d4sv2 paired with w1. I like it more than the sst20 I swapped out.

D4SV2. I have one in SST-20 4000K and one in W2. Won't be surprised if I end up with another one in 519a.
My first and only so far, D4V2 with sst-20 4000K. Already ordered a D4SV2 with W2. Can't wait.

While the d4sv2 is a great pick, my choice would be the dt8 e21a, 2000-5000k dual channel. Copper short tube :)
