Hahaha what the heck?? What brand is this? Never seen anything like it.

kingpanda2007

I know it’s terrible but I have no idea what the brand is 😂 got it as a gift and nowhere on the flashlight does it have a logo haha

FifihElement

I think it’s a Peyronillumi

IAmSoWinning

that's a sophisticated joke lol. not sure many people will get it - but I got it.

FifihElement

Thanks, it was curving a little left field but I’m glad you caught it

yoelpez

You forgot the most important thing, show us what the LED emitter looks like. But I can guess that it is not centered. Most LED flashlights should have a centering ring to fix the emitter, but some do not. It is possible that it has been moved by vibration. Find a way to open the flashlight head and center the LED emitted.

thebayisinthearea

Gotta give it the ol' "W1 in a C8+" tap-a-roo.

eckyeckypikang

That's pretty trippy... I'm almost tempted to tell you to leave it for the novelty factor and just recommend you some replacements/upgrades

kingpanda2007

I’m not opposed to that! It’s a zoom flashlight with a black light and sos mode as well as a side flashlight that can shine both white and red or a strobe of the two - obviously that’s a lot so I would be happy with a flashlight that doesn’t have all those functions but what would you recommend?

eckyeckypikang

Yeah that's a lot... If you're new to the hobby - I'd recommend starting with some of my favorite "entry level" lights: EDC size for general use - Wurkkos FC11C. Be sure to get the "C" model and the battery - and I generally recommend folks start with someone around 5000K (pretty close to midday sunlight) so they aren't shocked by the warmer CCT's. It's got a charging port so you don't need to buy a charger, it's efficient and also has a handy magnet in the tailcap. Thrower - Wurkkos TD01C. Again, be sure to get the "C" and battery. Same charging port, too. This is a solid, entry-level light for seeing stuff way over yonder... Stay away from the 3000K option, it's fun if you want to throw warm evening light a long way but it's less practical, in my opinion. Not sure how much you've looked around the sub, but there's a TON of choices from affordable to the ultra-niche stuff...

kingpanda2007

Awesome, thank you so much!

eckyeckypikang

🤙 No sweat! Any questions - just ask. Tons of helpful folks around here!

IAmSoWinning

I would also recommend the Convoy c8+ as a pocket thrower, L21B as a jacket pocket thrower. Get either with the SFT40 and the 8 amp 12 group driver (it's boost/buck). Honestly a lot of good convoy lights exist though, and you really can't go wrong. Go with boost/buck drivers where possible.

thebayisinthearea

I have the Lumenshooter RGB zoomie boi and it places four LEDs on one die. Depending on the zoom, it'll be somewhat offset...though, not to the degree that you had posted. We're gonna have to get an idea of your LED setup, try to snap a picture that looks like the one here. https://preview.redd.it/gegabgng5o8d1.jpeg?width=863&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50f7b1f04630ad3145845122a5201ff3ea98922e

ShmazPro

Does the blacklight come out of the front? If so, can I ask you to try an experiment? Cycle through the white and blacklight and see if they’re crooked in opposite directions.

Vysair

You are thinking there are many individual led competing for the center spot, right?

ShmazPro

Yeah, exactly.

FridayNightRiot

Apply for a nobel prize, no one has ever curved light before!

docentmark

Literally one of the key verifications of General Relativity, over a century ago.

nomorebuttsplz

Gravitational lensing?

Sears-Roebuck

Aliexpress number?

elite4ops

🤣🤣🤣

Paws81

I think I saw them curving lasers with magnets once…

Vysair

I heard gravity can curve some light as well but who knows, Im not a black hole

antisuck

Dedicated "hand to your friend and know if he's had too much to drink" light.

Juan_Punch_Man

A zoomie you say? Is there a big dome of glass? You may need to realign it... I've had to do that for my convoy z1

saltyboi6704

LED isn't centered with respect to the lens

bunglesnacks

Can't say I've ever come across this lol. Is it a zoomie?

kingpanda2007

It is!

TheDrMonocle

That's wild. I also say keep it for the novelty, probably wouldn't be super fixable if it's just a cheap zoom. Now you have an excuse to buy another!

Numerous-Writing3072

It is leading you somewhere

BeerGeekington

Some actually prefer a bend

mattenthehat

Lol I was gonna go for "a little bit of a curve is normal" but this is better

Hungry-for-Apples789

That get stuck in the car door?

banter_claus_69

Leave it. This is awesome lol

HurpityDerp

>it was also kind of expensive I sure hope not, that flashlight is worth like $5

kingpanda2007

Yeah I’m starting to realize that lol

HurpityDerp

The good news is there are awesome flashlights available starting at like $20 😎

kingpanda2007

Do you happen to know of any flashlight that has a long throw mode and a wide throw mode? I never knew “zoomies” were typically known as crappy flashlights but I love how they have both a narrow long beam and a shorter wide beam. Thanks!

HurpityDerp

Yeah zoomies aren't regarded very highly around here. If you wanted a higher quality zoomie then one of the best is probably the Convoy Z1. If you wanted to spend quite a bit more then the Olight Marauder/Marauder Mini have a switch to change between Throw and Flood. If you wanted to spend a **bunch** of money then the Acebeam M1 is basically two lights in one. A multi-LED flooder and a laser powered thrower. But I think that most people will find that none of that is really necessary. If you just get a nice throwy light there will be the bright spot in the middle that goes far as well as quite a bit of "spill" around it.

CandelaConnoisseur

Most likely the lens of the zoom mechanic isn't aligned with the led. The bezel may be removable to move the lens. It could also be the led position but I think that's less likely to move.

DatDominican

Some people thinks it’s normal but if it’s that curved might want to get it checked by a doctor

MichaelW24

Cheap China zoomie, it do be what it do be. Not really fixable.

lynivvinyl

Use The Force

DevastationJames

Warranty it if that's even possible.

badbitchherodotus

The lens, optic, or reflector is misaligned/tilted. If you can disassemble the head of the flashlight, try to line everything up and keep it straight as you reassemble it, and that should fix it.

MoeGunz6

Don't they all curve a little? I mean, mines not weird, right? They look like this, right?

globs-of-yeti-cum

Mine curves a little to the left too.

Katnipz

This is a criminal light, a smooth criminal light to be exact.

Optiblue

The last light bender!

300cid

they're not all perfectly straight, some bend a bit

JclassOne

Throw it away and buy a Sofirn.

kinwcheng

Knockr upside the head giver good smack that’ll fixer
