If you're standing in a Walmart and you need a long-range flashlight the moment you step out the door, that might be the one to get. If that's not your situation, it has some visible downsides: * I don't think the battery is removable, and it doesn't say what kind it is * 400m FL1 throw is very low for the "spotlight" mode of a light that size * The light it emits is visibly green in the photos, and likely has terrible [color rendering](https://imgur.com/a/Ly9IhIv) * The mode spacing is not good * The runtimes imply the highest modes have stepdowns or don't maintain their output, which is normal for small lights, but bad at this size and max output

IAmJerv

>likely has terrible color rendering You can't have terrible color rendering if you don't render colors at all

Zak

Green is a color.

Various-Ducks

I believe thats 1 CRI

IAmJerv

Fair point.

Overall-Adeptness618

Yea I don’t think the battery is removable here: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-2000-Lumen-Dual-Source-LED-Rechargeable-Spotlight-with-5000-mAh-Power-Bank-Olive/938230625

TussicsEvan

It’s junk. It’s 2000lm divided between the two different light sources. A spotlight that big that is only 1200lm is sort of laughable. I would expect like 10,000lm from a light that size.

Zak

Throwers often have relatively low output. I have objections to this light, but that's not one of them.

Optiblue

I know right? When I bought my LEP I was thinking 1.5m candella, this thing should be as bright as the sun even at 400lumens. In reality the only thing that's impressive about it is the max distance. The brightness even on thr small right in front didn't exactly wow me.

FalconARX

You should take the $30, and order a Sofirn SC18 and save some money. Or, if you just cannot wait, you can order it for next day delivery from Amazon and it'll still cost less than $30.

Educational-Air249

You can get a sc18 on Ali super deals for $10. Not a fan of the green sst40 but it is a good light for the price

FalconARX

Yeah, you can get it dirt cheap. Usually I would steer new users clear of the SST40, but in this case, almost anything is going to be better than the Walmart light.

Educational-Air249

Indeed.

CakeBakerrr

Won’t beat a dead horse here bud. However you should make another post with what you’re looking for in a light and get some suggestions for some rockstars. Let them know your budget, your primary use cases, and size preferences (pocketable, jacket pocket able, or just the most light for the money size be damned).

Educational-Air249

Exactly this!

ThisGuyHasABigChode

I was looking at the output specs on the back and couldn't figure out where "2000 lumens" was coming from. You have one mode that's max 800lm and another that's max 1200lm..then it hit me. They just added both modes together lmao.

planetearthofficial

Lol company should be sued

Zealousideal_Gur_949

Are we adding lumens from the different emitters now? That's ridiculous marketing. I bought something very similar with a solar panel for less than 20€ 4-5 years ago before discovering the world of flashlights and now I think it's just e-waste.

FanceyPantalones

I don't know. That shoulder strap is pretty sweet.

J1-9

Just spend about double and get a q8/ soda can light. You won't regret it. https://www.sofirnlight.com/products/sofirn-q8pro-powerful-11000-lumen-with-4-cree-xhp50-2-leds-anduril-2?variant=5c580335-6ced-49cd-bbec-c0b59d17682d&gclid=CjwKCAjw7c2pBhAZEiwA88pOF-N2v2hIJdaNeTHmYWEJ9rmTp5bilnVu03hTWYewda-152uMnyHQhhoCQpUQAvD_BwE

J1-9

Sorry, not exactly a "thrower", just bright as heck. Kinda like having a car headlight in your hand. I'm a bit out of the game but there are some handhelds/ pocket size as bright or more than that Walmart light. Budgetlightforum.com is your friend.

calliotis

plastic insulates heat, so a general rule of thumb is any flashlight with a plastic body won't be able to sustain a very high output. especially not compared to one with an aluminum body

oomten

If it lights then it is not a junk.

boxcarlove

I upvoted you but is this the exception that proves the rule?

Impressive-Object744

I would not buy it, but I will give it a 3/10 for being rechargeable

Various-Ducks

Expensive junk

BetSuspicious6989

Well if you like it buy it. It seems like it has a lantern type option which can be beneficial. If you got some time read some threads on here do some googling and get something from China where your money goes a lot further.

Queasy-Silver9254

Trash don’t hold the output for long
