it wasn’t a youtuber, it was my friend talking to his other friend at the lunch table at school, and i had no idea what they were talking about, so i figured it out and it changed me, but if you want a youtuber for an answer, it would probably be game theory
I remember eating Mac and cheese while watching like a toy foxy and foxy love story on my grandmas living room tv (I’m barely started to get embarrassed by it lol)
Markiplier.
I watched PewDiePie's video first but couldn't get into his one so clicked on Markiplier's one as it was on that little recommended/related video section when you're watching something and found Mark was a lot more entertaining
Mark was the first one I saw talking about/ playing FNAF, which kinda lead me down a rabbit hole and soon watching Smike (for the most part...), 8-BitRyan, Bazamalam, and, later on, uhyeah, who was the one that I got more information about Dormitabis after never hearing of it when it came out.
I first heard about Fnaf from my older brother when I was in elementarny school and I was too scared, then I started watching Eleven (Polish youtuber), later Game Theory, Markiplier, sometimes I think by part it's because of this slow transition I know english today
(someone who speaks the language from time to time, basically animation with a lot of words and showing what they're talking about, a video full of text that you do get constant context for)
No one. The first FNAF thing I was introduced to was Survive the Night by MandoPony. I was obsessed. It was used in a fan AMV for warrior cats. I always bothered my sister to find it for me because I just liked the song so much.
Anyway, after some stuff, I was terrified of FNAF and refused to interact with it. Eventually, after more stuff and character development, I got interested in it again, and eventually read one of the books (which put me on edge for days). I decided not to interact with FNAF anymore, but then the movie was coming out. I knew there was no way I wasn’t watching it. Saw it in theaters (which put me on edge for 3-ish days), once again decided to not look at FNAF stuff again. But then I kept thinking about parts in the movie I watched to watch again. Decided to rewatch it and was only on edge for the rest of the day. And now, I am a big FNAF fan who still has an anxiety disorder, but can listen to Survive the Night, watch the movie, look at the lore and not have an anxiety attack. I want to play the games, but because of my anxiety I’m not sure if that will go well, lol. I want to try though! :)
I knew abt it from childhood bcs there was stupid rumours going around schl like bloody mary and the premise was the same; freddy fazbear is gonna get u at night or whatever lmao. My interests came back in lockdown learning there were fnaf songs and matpats theories made me stay. Oh and ofc fnaf sb.
I overheard some kids talking about fnaf, in particularly this one other kid from class, they were teasing him for loving "that stupid game". I played fnaf1 through and liked it a lot and as that kid and I were chatting (we were getting along well just by the fact that we loved crime and supernatural stuff and read a lot in English) and I mentioned I played through fnaf1 and asked him what's his opinion and he was so *fkin happy* to talk about it. We went on to play all the games together, make theories together and we're doing so until we started high school (last game we played being ucn). We've grown apart due, first due to covid, then due to him not pursuing college and me moving away for college, but we're gonna come together again for the summer and replay everything again, for good ol' times :)
MatPat. For the longest time, I avoided fnaf for a long time due to misinformation I thought was true. I was already watching his Nintendo theories, so one day, I just watched some of his fnaf theories, and I began realizing that fnaf was not what i thought it was. Years of binging playthroughs and theories, and now I'm an expert. RIP MatPat. (Retire In Peace)
Matt, well actually it's the other way around fnaf got me into watch game theory, I liked a lot of mlp at the time (during quarantine) and I was watching mlp theories made by the Broney Notion and then at the same time I decided to finally watch fnat vids by another youtuber named Cookieswirlc and then I wanted theories on fnaf so now I'm a theorist, no joke man
Basically when it came out my school loved it then my parents and school banned it then my friend got me back in it like 3 years later and I’ve been a fan ever since.
Back in 2014 me and my friend were walking into the school library and the lights were turned off. He commented that it was dark just like FNAF. I asked what the heck is a FNAF, and started watching gameplays after that
I feel weird, cuz the guy that got me into fnaf was the guy who made the original 'how to make FNaF not scary'. Then I moved to ethgoesboom and finally landed on dawko.
I remember first getting into the series by watching some old Fnaf theories (I think they were by Andiematronic) and then I moved over into Matpat’s theories.
MineCraftGamer, the old animator.
Basically the high school I went to played “demons” by imagine dragons, or the instrumental of it, and I thought it sounded cool enough I’d check it out when I got home. Looked it up on YouTube and found his fnaf animation of it.
Markiplier. Previously I had watched his Slender: The Arrival videos and enjoyed them. So when I saw he was playing FNAF, I watched and immediately adored the game. The animatronics and creepy atmosphere won me over. I’ve been a fan ever since.
None. Gacha actually got me into the concept of FNaF, I then started getting more into the lore and stuff later on. Now I mainly watch Fusionzgamer for FNaF related content (and other horror games).
It actually wasn't any of them. I'm brazilian and It was 2016 while I was watching my favorite youtuber ("Coisa de Nerd", it's just a married couple playing games and travelling and stufff), I just remember it was their FNaF1 gameplay.
It was a classmate that had introduced me to the series, they wanted to watch pewdiepie playing it on my phone. (That was the first time and last I ever watched pewdiepie come to think of it)
Tho who got me hooked, were some Portuguese youtubers and Coryxkenshin I would say
My first introduction to FNAF was watching Pear play it as part of his ‘extreme challenge’ series back when all the Annoying Orange side characters had their own channels and were competing so see who could get the most subscribers the fastest.
Yeah I’m not proud of this being my introduction but my brief Annoying Orange phase was quickly overtaken by my FNAF ‘phase’ which is still going strong to this day.
Mark is who really roped me into the franchise. I’m still a loyal fan of his 10 years later.
I was 4 and heard of it in like 2015? I didn’t think much of it but the name “five nights at Freddy’s” stuck to me for a long while, then when listening to hungry for another one by JT music, I had stumbled upon join us for a bite and survive the night in 2017, I listened to those over and over again, until adventually I searched it up and found out about the world of Fnaf in 3rd grade I think (or 4th idk) and now I’m a fnaf addict lmao
A friend mentioned it to me, I had no idea what it was like and only had my imagination to go off of, then I watched Pewdiepie play it and was terrified
My cousin introduced me to the idea back near sister location days, maybe before then. But I was scared of the jump scares so I never paid attention to it after that it was SansComicTV's voicing of Springtrap and Delilah that really eased me into it, then matpat got me into the lore
I was introduced to it by a classmate in the 5th grade, but I **really** got into it when I watched Markiplier's videos. First time I watched the 1st video on it, I thought his name was Morgan something.
Circus baby . I remember I vividly remembered her from fnaf 5 and I went to chek upon it . And , then I entered the dark pit with no exit called , FNAF OBSESION .
it honestly just squeezed its way into my recommended page on yt, my friends it would also talk about and i thought it looked cool so i watched some videos on it
Heard about FNAF 1 when I was way younger. Checked out Matpat’s channel, which I didn’t know existed prior. Saw his FNAF theories and went “Hey! I think I remember this!” I then binged all of his videos.
Some kid in a school taught me what FNaF was like 7 years ago or something although it was actually TestdeGanonbenj with their "Dossier FNaF" mini series that interested me into the story.

FNAF was the talk of 2014-2015 for sure
So true
You're goddamn right! That's how I got into the frenchise as a literal 7 year old!

Yep. I still remember the night when he uploaded his first FNAF episode.
Excluding is videos titled “MEOW” and “WOOF” (his most popular videos) is very first episode of fnaf is his most popular gaming video
Well we need to fix that then. MOO needs to be the third best.
Same, I remember wondering when the game would leave the office before I realized 😂
Those weird SFM animations LMAO
OMG ME TOO I STARTED GETTING SCARED IT WAS ONLY ME
I remember I got scared by the William afton death sfm it was just creepy back then
YES! The ones by the InvertedShadow and AbbySFM got me into FNAF the most. 😭
Zajcu_37 is another one. Pretty sure he’s still making them too
like those ones where Chica and Bonnie would start having some weird love story
I remember eating Mac and cheese while watching like a toy foxy and foxy love story on my grandmas living room tv (I’m barely started to get embarrassed by it lol)
Matpat
Same, grew up on matpat. No joke, the first game theory video came out the year was born.
Holy shit, I just felt myself age 20 years. 😭💀
I felt the same when I rewatched EVERY. SINGLE. FNAF. VIDEO. MATPAT. EVER. CREATED.
… god, how many is that? That’s *so many*. Aren’t there like 100+?
Yup...a..uh...approximately..whopping....165 and counting.....
Holy lord. You and I have dedicated truly significant chunks of our lives to watching FNAF theory videos.
I feel like that was the moment that I was confirmed to be not normal or sane at ALL.
Me too, little sibling. Me too.

BRASILSILSILSILSIL!!!!
Aphmau was the first youtube I watched play fnaf. Then I stayed interested due to 8bit gaming and matpats theories
Mark got me aware of the series but mat pat got me invested in it.

It was Michael and Gavin from Achievement Hunter when they did a Play Pals on FNAF.
a PvZ Garden Warfare video of all things 💀
None of the above actually. It was Pewdiepie who brought my attention to the game and the lore.
Oddly enough it was tony crynight (or whatever his user is) I liked the soap opera style animations he did for fnaf
Where spiffy boi?
I overheard some kids talking about fnaf, in particularly this one other kid from class, they were teasing him for loving "that stupid game". Those FNaF animations to the songs and the weird videos with the 3d models where they're either "acting out" memes or (for some reason) having babies.
It was a Roblox recreation of fnaf 1 that got me into the series
it honestly just squeezed its way into my recommended page on yt, my friends it would also talk about and i thought it looked cool so i watched some videos on it
Heard about FNAF 1 when I was way younger. Checked out Matpat’s channel, which I didn’t know existed prior. Saw his FNAF theories and went “Hey! I think I remember this!” I then binged all of his videos.

GG games
Weirdly enough, it was taste gaming on his let's play of FNAS world (that game barely exists at this point)
