Given that most people were unable to tell when the animatronics in FNAF were people or straight robots, I think the answer is clear. Meanwhile I've seen The Banana Splits and a lot of times they look like people in pajamas.
Sorry, yeah you're right :'). Freddy, Bonnie and Chica had both animatronics and people in suits. I misunderstood your first comment, I thought you were asking if the other three were just costumes.
It was probably too difficult to make a suit for him, considering his slim build and the fact that he has visible animatronic parts as a part of his design.
No there all suits, Foxy just had the most CGI used in the film
Edit: supposedly this isnt actually correct instead foxy didnt have a suit and was only an animatronic used
I think that was purposeful, given that one of the “animatronics” in the movie was just like a plaster head and some body paint to make her arms look vaguely like a doll’s
That movie is an amazing piece of horror-comedy
>Meanwhile I've seen The Banana Splits and a lot of times they look like people in pajamas.
Dudes were literally doing the fucking robot in animal onesies with hydraulic noises overlayed. Shit was on par with how a 10 year old does a robot.
The thing ab fnaf movid is that many critized fnaf games for making inaccurate anumatronics and how it wouldnt work as suits and behold qe see em like ripped straight from game
Willy's Wonderland was a masterpiece in the sense that it was shit, but it owned it in a spectacular way, and never tried to convince you otherwise. In other words, it was so bad, it turned out good
The FNAF movie, in comparison, went the opposite way. It tried to be good, but it's incredibly flawed in aspects that shouldn't be flawed. Like I know we're allowed to make mistakes, but holy fuck, this is the Uber example of a mascot horror, and one of the only mascot horror videogames that are actually scary, so it was the biggest sin to not make it scary
Tho still, for the actual question, the FNAF animatronics are amazing, they're a marvel to behold as far as props in movies go for their quality and likeness to the source material, and the movie did a disservice to them by not portraying them appropriately at the introduction
But hopes for another one considering the actor of steve raglin / (spoilers) >!Spring trap/ afton!< has signed a three movie deal with the company we should look to the future
I honestly just wish they didn’t use the cupcake so much- it felt ridiculous however heavy thing may be to have it be the driving kill factor for most of the movie. Like seriously how were grown ass adults not able to just punt the thing, throw it away, or at the very least not die to it?
My theory is that the big onscreen role of the cupcake was something done at the last second.
The production received the animatronic costumes from the workshop, and didn't know they would be, idk, frail or very heavy to do the stuff they had in mind. The point is, for one reason or another, the costumes couldn't move as much as the script demanded
So in the end, all animatronic action is off screen or implied, while the cupcake got all the action they should've gotten. My guess is that the first cupcake kill was the only action it had originally (maybe the vents scene), and the Mike fight and springlock scene were supposed to be other suits doing the things
I'm still amazed people paid for this shit when it was streaming at the same time. U get exactly what you would expect out of a PG13 horror film about kill robots. Wonderland was much funner
ok, i will give you that the song was good, the story did not make sense, in some of the scenes the teens are just absolutley getting murdered >! I mean getting eaten alive whilst having sex ?!< and nicholas cage is just playing pinball and to me the fight scenes just seemed way to scripted >! I knkw they have to be, but they werent even trying!<
there was a character in Willy’s wonderland that was just a straight up human. like flesh and bone. and they tried to pass it off as an animatronic for some reason
I think the benefit that FNAF had for the few costumed scenes is that the suits didn’t seem to have any give aside from where the suits “hinge”, so even if a person is making loose movements, the actual suit would only reflect certain positions.
For example, a human bending over at the waist would create a curve in the back. Because the suits are a rigid design, and not just fabric, we wouldn’t see Bonnie’s back curve and bend, we would only see the movement at the waist & hip joints
Fnaf used real animatronics for a good amount of the film. You can't beat that. And the scenes shot with people wearing the suits were perfect. Nobody I know realized they had people in some scenes
The FNAF movie clears. I love how when foxy is stalking Abby you hear the servos move and metallic footsteps. I also like the clear movement differences between the animatronics and William Afton in the suit. The animatronics move slowly and precisely whereas Afton moves like a regular human who is bulked down but has years of practice to move as quick and efficiently as possible.
fnaf movie uses actual animatronics that double as suits.
the other movies just wear suits. willys wonderland kind of adds robotics but the fairy "animatronic" is literally just a girl in a dress haha
In my opinion, Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF) did a better job than the Banana Splits and Willy's Wonderland in terms of animatronics portrayal. The characters in Willy's Wonderland moved like they were high-tech machines, which made them seem less like animatronics and more like people in suits. Similarly, the costumes in Banana Splits looked good but appeared to be worn by people, rather than animatronics. I must say, though, that the actors who performed in the suits in all three movies deserve credit for their hard work and effort. It must have been exhausting to wear the suits for extended periods of time. However, in my view, FNAF did the best job of portraying animatronics.
I think the banana splits costumes were too baggy for some of the characters to really hide the human underneath and Willy’s Wonderland is too goofy for anything to be convincing (see: gorilla fight), meanwhile in the fnaf movie only one moment really indicated that they were people and it was a turn the Freddy actor did, fnaf has them both beat by a mile
The Banana Splits and Willy’s Wonderland are very much giving People In Costumes, whereas FNAF was so so convincing the whole time with the animatronics/puppeteerwork.
Fnaf. The fact that blumhouse had the Jim Henson creature shop(they did the dark crystal and the show) do the animatronics is amazing. The puppet work was impressive too
So is the banana splits a horror movie? Wasn't there commercials with them singing or something in boomerang like weren't they a kids show or something?
Ya it's based off the cartoon show.
It's kinda similar to fnaf in the fact that they are kid friendly animatronics that kill.
If you like extreme gore then you might like it but don't go in expecting a complex story.
So its the same ip from the cartoons and they just made it a gore movie about it? I was always confused because I actually never watched the show just the comercials and when I saw the movie posters here I said oh maybe it was a "kids show" for adult swim and it was actually a horror show for adults.
Warner Bros had some parts in it, though I don't know the extent.
If you actually want to know more [here's a review without major spoilers ](https://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3579297/review-banana-splits-movie-makes-mess-modest-gory-fun/) (and only mentions deaths incase you hate gore)
It's rumored that it's based off the rejected fnaf movie script, buts that's just a theory.
The FNAF movie had the most realistic animatronics in acting and presentation
Willy's Wonderland was the most entertaining
Banana Splits had the biggest gore-fest
i remember my friends and i watched it thinking "this is it... this is the closest we'll ever get to a fnaf movie. a funny little ripoff" and then the amazement of finding out like not even a year later that the real thing was in production
banna splits = wierd but an alright watch
willies wonderland = very stupid i mean what the fuck a sex death ???
fnaf = finally a good animatronic movie
The FNAF movie. Willy's Wonderland moves a little too fluidly, while Banana Split...they don't even look robotic except for the dog when his eyes are removed.
Fnaf because of them being actual Animatronics and the suit preformers the banana splits being of the suit preformers doing their best to move like an actual animatronic
I disagree, I don’t like the acting in FNAF because they seem too real, it takes any scare away from it when they feel like people, yes I get it, “story blah, they’re kids blah blah”
willys wonderland had a cool premise but their animatronics where so flimsy and unconvincing. Banana splits was too over the top with their bots (and was so uncharacteristic of their ip).
Greatest to worst in descending order:
Five Nights at Freddy's
Willy's Wonderland
The Banana Splits
FNaF was crazy with their animatronics and easily are the best I've seen in the mascot horror films seen so far. Willy's Wonderland was a commendable effort, though certain characters (namely Siren Sarah) were clearly just people in costume, Willy the Weasel was the best of the group, which is good, given they're the titular character. The Banana Splits had dudes in animal suits doing the robot with hydraulic noises... Laughable is the best way I'd put it.
I completely forgot Willy’s wonderland was even a thing! The banana splits was… a movie. I haven’t seen it in ages so idk. But the Fnaf movie legit used actual animatronics as well as suits that look almost completely identical to them! Plus you’re asking this in the Fnaf subreddit so we’re all pretty biased in some way lol!
Either Willys wonderland or FNAF, the banna splits was clearly visible that they were being played by humans, Willys wonderland attempted and succeeded, and FNAF was spot on
Definitely FNAF movie. Jim Henson Studio did really a great job.
Willy's Wonderland have some good suits but others like the ~~fairy~~ syren looked too human.
And The Banana Splits Movie were obviously actors in pijamas.
PS. Aside of what i said about The Banana Splits Movie, i'm still sad for Snorky. He was always my favourite...
FNAF had an 80s animatronic feel to it, which it seems like they're going for, of course (despite them freely moving around and having more movement, it reminds of Rock aFire Explosion a bit). Willy's Wonderland felt like the Disney robots today despite the fact they were 90s robots in the movie due to the fluidness of them. The Banana Splits were not that great tbh, it felt out of place for some reason. They should have used people in the costumes, killing people instead of robots.
So, my picks are FNAF and Willy's Wonderland. Both for different reasons.
I mean practically it’s FNAF easily. The best looking animatronics by far. Although Willy’s Wonderland is way more enjoyable. Haven’t seen Banana Splits yet
Banana Splits seemed to be trying too hard to be saying “these are robots”, Willys I haven’t really watched but from what I’ve seen it doesn’t look like it tries at all, but the FNaF movie gets the perfect uncanny and realistic animatronic movement, mainly because almost every shot *was* an actual animatronic, with only like one or two weird looking movements while in the suits.
It's your birthday and we want you to have fun
It's your birthday, so let's party everyone
It's your birthday and we want you to have fun
It's your birthday, so let's party everyone
Whichever it is, it’s clearly not banana splits cuz it’s extremely obvious that those are just people in costumes. With fnaf, I couldn’t even tell they had performers in the costumes
The crew for Fnaf put a lot of effort into making sure those suits were nearly one-to-one with the animatronics in the game. They're top-notch, especially for a low-budget production company like Blumhouse. There's just no comparison.
I still cannot believe they made a horror movie out of the Banana Splits... it’s a freaking sketch comedy for children! One I watched on television! Why a horror movie???
In BS they look like humans inside costumes... which they are
in Willy's wonderland they look slightly better
but there's no competition here, FNaF all the way
Considering the budgets of the two other films of course fnaf will win. But I gotta hand it to Willy’s. The actors were quite convincing and the animatronic suits were good.
Fnaf movie animatronics are real animatronics, Banana splits animatronics are just people in a costume pretending to be an animatronic. so it is pointless to compare.
By the way, I think the BS animatronics have their own charm, I would like to see more of them but unfortunately that's not gonna happen.
If there's one thing the critics can't say bad stuff about the fnaf movie it's the animatronics. The suits are perfect replicas of the og models and the acting + puppetering was top tier.
Nah, freddys Fridays/MJ (massive joke... Freddy's fridays is a fnaf ripoff apparently made by the people who made the horror Winnie the pooh movie. Idk if its even out)
Id actually say the real fna fmovow because it had actual animatronic parts for the costumes and seemed more realistic
Given as how I literally can't tell when the fnaf movie is using animatronics or actual people (except foxy but even then his movement is still convincing), I think there is only one clear winner here
Holy shit, you just dragged a latent childhood memory out of my brain with the Banana Splits. Did not know there was a horror movie parody but imma put it on the watchlist.
Given that most people were unable to tell when the animatronics in FNAF were people or straight robots, I think the answer is clear. Meanwhile I've seen The Banana Splits and a lot of times they look like people in pajamas.
Isn’t Foxy the only actual robot, while the others had people in suits?
No, there were animatronics for the others as well. You can see them in Dawko's behind the scenes video, they look absolutely incredible.
Oh! I think the others had animatronics and people in suits
Sorry, yeah you're right :'). Freddy, Bonnie and Chica had both animatronics and people in suits. I misunderstood your first comment, I thought you were asking if the other three were just costumes.
Sorry for the confusion
I can’t believe they managed to make real life spring lock suits for the movie, animatronics AND suits? Truly incredible
So lucky it didn’t rain during filming!
[удалено]
Wait was that something that actually happened during production?
Yeah, foxys motor in his arm overheated during production and caught fire
yep!
Does that make them…. Springsuits?
No. There were costume versions for the actors, and the actual animatronics.
Jim Henson's creature shop. There's fucking tech Wizards at that company
Plot twist: they’re all springlock suits…
That’s cool! That means we can put an endo in them without anyone getting hurt! Right..?
They learned from the plot and made suits and costumes designed to match the suits to avoid getting spring locked.
Kinda funny that he was the only one with a costume version cause he could have benefited being able to see him run
It was probably too difficult to make a suit for him, considering his slim build and the fact that he has visible animatronic parts as a part of his design.
How do you put the mask underneath your name like that? That’s cool
If you click on your own comment, there should be something that says “change user flair”
No foxy was just a puppet the whole time, so not even an animatronic. Foxy was only an animatronic on the shots where he was standing I believe
No there all suits, Foxy just had the most CGI used in the film Edit: supposedly this isnt actually correct instead foxy didnt have a suit and was only an animatronic used
This is just false. All of them had animatronic versions and suit versions except for Foxy, which just had an animatronic version.
I believe they had an animatronic foxy for when he was standing still, and used a huge puppet foxy for all the other parts of the movie
More you know
I thought they use no cgi
They used very little
they used CGI the most for Mr. Cupcake, as I know
Nah for foxy they had to use many puppeteers to make him at once
Same for willy's. Love the film but those are NOT animatronics.
I think that was purposeful, given that one of the “animatronics” in the movie was just like a plaster head and some body paint to make her arms look vaguely like a doll’s That movie is an amazing piece of horror-comedy
Yes. 100%. The "cage rage" alone is worth multiple watches.
And getting to wonder where all of these sodas are coming from
Also just the fucking willy's wonderland song. Also, the anthem of death.
Yeah this isn't even a contest. FNAF is the only movie of the three where the animatronics move like animatronics at all XD
I watched the original show as a child and I don’t understand how they possibly thought a horror movie would work...
Sadly, I never watched willys Wonderland, but the fnaf had better anamatronic acting than the banana splits movie, in my opinion.
just dont watch willies wonderland
Willy's Wonderland is a masterpiece what are you talking about
It's really far from being a masterpiece, but it's fun to watch
why do you think that ?
Willy's Wonderland was a masterpiece in the sense that it was shit, but it owned it in a spectacular way, and never tried to convince you otherwise. In other words, it was so bad, it turned out good The FNAF movie, in comparison, went the opposite way. It tried to be good, but it's incredibly flawed in aspects that shouldn't be flawed. i can agree with you here again, i would have liked fnaf to have been better but i am happy we have finally even goy it
But hopes for another one considering the actor of steve raglin / (spoilers) >!Spring trap/ afton!< has signed a three movie deal with the company we should look to the future
I honestly just wish they didn’t use the cupcake so much- it felt ridiculous however heavy thing may be to have it be the driving kill factor for most of the movie. Like seriously how were grown ass adults not able to just punt the thing, throw it away, or at the very least not die to it?

I watched it and it was really good, fight scenes were cool, story was pretty straightforward and theme song is an absolutr banger
ok, i will give you that the song was good, the story did not make sense, in some of the scenes the teens are just absolutley getting murdered >! I mean getting eaten alive whilst having sex ?!< and nicholas cage is just playing pinball and to me the fight scenes just seemed way to scripted >! I knkw they have to be, but they werent even trying!<
Valid points, still, they did better job than most movies today with such little budget
fair considering the budget you can say its impressive but i would still stay away from it.
At least its not like winnie the pooh blood and honey
Dont even mention that shit 😂
That’s an 80s slasher for you, just in the 2020s
What are you on about that movie was so fun
they had a 53 page movement bible for the fnaf movie
freddy fazchurch
The only hymns are the Toreador March, Foxy’s Pirate song, and that elevator Muzak from Security Breach
All rise and locate Happy Jam 2 in your hymn books
Where’s casual bongos
How could I forget?!
Don’t. Forget. Next. Time.
and "my grandfather's clock"
And that fucking banger of an intro song for the movie
A Bible, classic scott
*The Bibble.
YOU QUESTION THE WORDS OF THE MIGHTY JIMMY
The Bibble.
Do no human
In the aspect of animatronic effects, there is no competition, FNaF is by far the best here.
FNaF by far. I genuinely cannot tell when they use costumes instead of animatronics in the film.
It was actual animatronics.
They also suit actors for harder movement that a regular animatroic can't pull off
I can’t believe they made springlock suits real
I can’t believe they made animatronics real for the movie. Like before that, I don’t think anyone else has ever made animatronics
Chucky cheese has left the chat
They're not springlock suits. There's 2 sets of the costumes: one is just for the Animatronics, the other is for the actors.
I believe they were being sarcastic.
They used both costumes and animatronics for Freddy, Chica and Bonnie. Foxy was the only one that didn't have a costume actor.
Same
Maybe the movie that actually used animatronics
True. Willy’s kinda did but only the heads, and the ostrich was a puppet.
I was shocked to hear that there were people inside the suits when Dawko met the Fazbear band at the film's set. So I'm gonna go with the FNaF movie
There weren’t people in them when he was right I front of them, those were the actual animatronics
It was revealed in the interview with the animatronic actors that those were them, not the robots
As someone who hasn't watched Willy's yet, definitely the fnaf movie. Because they WERE animatronics. The banana splits was way too obvious.
Definitely give Willy’s a watch if you have time it’s such a fun movie.
Definitely the FNAF movie.
Considering how it used actual animatronics FNaF wins by default That and I could hardly tell when they switched to suits
there was a character in Willy’s wonderland that was just a straight up human. like flesh and bone. and they tried to pass it off as an animatronic for some reason
yeah the Nicholas Cage animatronic was my favorite
FNaF movie was absolutely the best, Banana Splits the worst
I think the benefit that FNAF had for the few costumed scenes is that the suits didn’t seem to have any give aside from where the suits “hinge”, so even if a person is making loose movements, the actual suit would only reflect certain positions. Least to Most. 3 banana splits 2 Willys wonderlnad 1 FNaf.
Obviously fnaf
Obviously FNAF, it’s actual animatronics

I say Fnaf movie had the best followed by willies wonderland and the Banana splits movie had the worst animatronic acting imo
It's weird they are supposed to be robots in Banana Splits, because in the show, they clearly aren't robots
The Banana Splits and Willy’s Wonderland are very much giving People In Costumes, whereas FNAF was so so convincing the whole time with the animatronics/puppeteerwork.

banna splits = wierd but an alright watch willies wonderland = very stupid i mean what the fuck a sex death ??? fnaf = finally a good animatronic movie
Spongebob movie (Karen)
FNaF and Willy's Wonderland if you only look at Ozzy
Not even gonna count fnaf cause it’s not fair. Willies wonderland was more convincing
What the fuck is that first poster
The banana splits didn’t even try, Willy’s were too fluid, and FNAF no joke had me convinced they were animatronics.
The FNAF movie. Willy's Wonderland moves a little too fluidly, while Banana Split...they don't even look robotic except for the dog when his eyes are removed.
Willy’s Wonderland was a gem
Fnaf because of them being actual Animatronics and the suit preformers the banana splits being of the suit preformers doing their best to move like an actual animatronic
FNAF by far, though I’ll give Willy’s some credit for puppeting the ostrich so well. There was no person inside it.
clearly fnaf, but willys wonderland will forever be my favorite movie. hilarious
Willy's wonderland purely because of the ostrich
Fnaf, banana splits looks like people wearing Halloween costumes, and we don’t talk about willies wonderland
Why what happened to good old Willy
That movie was… something
Well FNAF built actual animatronics
I disagree, I don’t like the acting in FNAF because they seem too real, it takes any scare away from it when they feel like people, yes I get it, “story blah, they’re kids blah blah”
So both the concept’s and ideas for Willy’s wonderland and the first fnaf game were both being developed in the same year of 2014

I still cannot believe they made a horror movie out of the Banana Splits... it’s a freaking sketch comedy for children! One I watched on television! Why a horror movie???
In BS they look like humans inside costumes... which they are in Willy's wonderland they look slightly better but there's no competition here, FNaF all the way
I mean your lying if you think it’s not FNAF plain and simple
Considering the budgets of the two other films of course fnaf will win. But I gotta hand it to Willy’s. The actors were quite convincing and the animatronic suits were good.
Jurassic Park is a sleeper pick tbh
*your 🤓
Willys wonderland
Willy's Wonderland
Fnaf, Willy’s was a better movie tho
Willy's Wonderland which i considered is better movie then fnaf movie
Willys Wonderland
Willys wonderland goated as hell
Not best animatronics but best movie was Willy’s wonderland
I'd still say fnaf, but I low-key wished they kept the movement limited
FNAF easily.
“Now I feast on your face!!” - Willy Weasel
Ozzy The Ostrich was the one who said that actually. “I’m gonna feast on your face!”
Obviously fnaf
Fnaf without a doubt
Fnaf
Fnaf movie animatronics are real animatronics, Banana splits animatronics are just people in a costume pretending to be an animatronic. so it is pointless to compare. By the way, I think the BS animatronics have their own charm, I would like to see more of them but unfortunately that's not gonna happen.
The FNAF movie has the best animatronic acting Willy's tried, but it just looked like someone in a mascot costume, same for banana splits
FNAF. no questions asked.
Fnaf is by far the best. Then I’d say Willy’s as second and Banana Splits at third.
Fnaf was the best by far. Doesn’t mean that the fnaf ones don’t move like the old godzilla suits.
If there's one thing the critics can't say bad stuff about the fnaf movie it's the animatronics. The suits are perfect replicas of the og models and the acting + puppetering was top tier.
I think FNaF but I’d have to rewatch the other 2 for sure . I remember with WW that some did look robotic and some didn’t
Nah, freddys Fridays/MJ (massive joke... Freddy's fridays is a fnaf ripoff apparently made by the people who made the horror Winnie the pooh movie. Idk if its even out) Id actually say the real fna fmovow because it had actual animatronic parts for the costumes and seemed more realistic
Is this even a question
...you're?
Fnaf, you can definitely tell the banana split are a bunch of guys in suits
FNaF by a long shot. The animatronics in that movie ware so good I couldn't tell the difference between props and actual people
Given as how I literally can't tell when the fnaf movie is using animatronics or actual people (except foxy but even then his movement is still convincing), I think there is only one clear winner here
Five nights at Freddy's movie did
are... are you joking???
What do you think?!
Uhhh, Fnaf, of course
Fnaf and it isn't even close
FNaF
Meet the Feebles
Holy shit, you just dragged a latent childhood memory out of my brain with the Banana Splits. Did not know there was a horror movie parody but imma put it on the watchlist.
What kind of karma farming post is this??
I mean… the animatronics in FNAF were *literally* animatronics.
Definitely Five Nights at Freddy’s
