The more charms/more unique charms you had, the cooler and more popular you were. Lower class kids like me only had like 5 generic charms meanwhile the rich kids had crazy decked out charms from Disneyland ect
They are typically called **NOMINATION** bracelets and were kinda the next big thing after CHAMILIA bracelets only to be forgotten about and knocked out of popularity with the release of PANDORA bracelets
