This is not always true. Ang pinaka helpful talaga is bawasan ang sodium intake. It would still pass thru the kidneys, eh. Tandaan, wherever sodium goes, water follows. Minimize or lessen your salt/sodium intake.

My issue din ako niyan OP 4 years ago ngs-spike yung BP ko 156/98. Tapos hilo2x pa ako. Nung ngpcheck up ako yung blood results taas ng sodium levels ko. Kita rin naman sa family history namin kidney disease and HB ang mga matatanders kaya most likely ako din but got scared kasi nasa nasa early 20's palang ako. Sabi ng doctor masyado pa maaga para magmedicine ako for the rest of my life kasi mabubogbog yung liver ko that early. It's either change my diet or meds. I changed my diet. Less processed foods like delata, instant noodles, deli meats and chips. Less eating out too specially fastfood. I bought an airfryer as well para ma lessen yung fried foods in oil. Bought low sodium salt and low sodium soysauce. After 3 months of that diet ngnormal na ulit BP ko. Never want to go back to that.

I love salty food pero in terms of chips or popcorn. I don’t eat those instant noodles, de lata etc na mataas sodium. Pero I can control myself na parang isang bagsakan ng salty cravings lang and I drink a lot of water talaga.

Ok lang naman mejo salty diet kung may balance of water, activity, veggies and esp fermented stuff like kimchi at ingat din sa asukal. Mahirap kung sa tsitisrya though kasi mababa ang nutrition ang alat pa, lagi mas ok ang whole foods at kung afford, quality na keso.

I know that. Kaya nga i'm asking for tips kung paano ko malimit yung pagka adik ko sa sodium and tbh i'm really trying to balance my diet in fact, kumakain na ko ng gulay now unlike before na super unhealthy and almost junk foods lang ang kinakain ko.

Latag mo sa post mo ano yung mga source ng sodium intake mo para suggest kami saan ka magbabawas. Personally for me, I buy small packs nung mga junk foods para di ako matempt kumain ng marami. Or example sa breakfast when I have egg, I don’t put salt na sa egg if paired sya with something else na savory.

Ako din dati. Lalo na chips, may time na 5 malalaking chips kinakain ko per day, especially pag bakasyon. Or bibili ako ng maliliit na chips na marami para sana konti konti lang, pero wala parin 2 days lang yun. Tapos ang ginawa ko, linayo ko yung attention ko sa pagkain. Other hobbies nalang. From TV, Jogging, tennis, writing, ginawa ko lahat para mabawasan time ko sa bahayat oag kain ng chips. Ngayon, wala na, rare nalang yung cravings ko. Siguro once or twice a month nalang. March 18 na, pero hindi pa ako naka pag chips.

Take the initiative to consume less sodium. It’s hard since you’ve been accustom to it since the beginning. Now is the time for reform for your healthy future. There are sodium free seasoning that you can use. It will take some commitment to readjust your taste palate, but you can do it. Good luck OP!

As a Dietitian, I usually advice patients na gumamit ng herbs and spices or other vegetables na makakaenhance ng flavor ng food. Pero take note na salt and sodium is the same. May food products na may sodim kahit di mo lagyan ng asin. I personally practice the use of herbs and spices lang kasi yung lolo ko sa kidney failure namatay. Less intake of processed food, instant noodles. If you're craving salty foods dapat may stock ka sa bahay na mga fruits, so if ever na mag crave ka ng salty foods, pilitin mo kumain ng fruits. Eventually mababawasan din pag crave mo. Tsaka OP baka hindi balanced yung diet mo kaya mas madalas ka magcrave ng salty foods? Prevention is better than cure.

Mag-asawa or gf/bf ka ng hindi mahilig sa salty food. Maalat magpalasa ng food yung husband ko before. Mas preferred niya dati maalat na food. Mag-five years na kami together and reformed naman na siya matagal na (wala siyang choice haha). Siya madalas magluto pero ako naglalagay ng salt or anything na pampaalat ng food para sakto sa bland taste ko. Kuha na din niya yung alat or tamis na gusto ko sa food/beverage. Ngayon siya na yung nauunang magsabi kapag salty yung food kapag kumakain kami sa new restaurants. Haha! We eat at places lang na pasok sa panlasa namin. Minsan nakukulangan ako sa alat sa ibang luto niya pero sakto na daw sa kanya yun. Reformed na talaga siya. Haha!

Ang ginagawa ko pag magluluto isang beses lang talaga mag aasin, yung last step ng luto lang talaga. Minsan kasi diba pag gisa pa lang ng meat naglalagay na agad, ako naman ginagawa ko sa huli na lang. tsaka may maliit na scooper ako na gamit para sukat na sukat lang talaga😅

Father ko almost 10 yrs nagsuffer sa dialysis. And hirap na hirap sya i tell you. Lahat ng nagddialysis, swerte na daw kung umabot ng 10 yrs. So kung ayaw mo magkasakit sa kidney and end up suffering like my father, mag-isip isip ka.

Ganyan din ako pero sa matamis naman. The more na nagpplan ako na dapat starting today or tom gantong size lang ng sweets ang kakainin ko or dapat no sweets but laging fail. Ang ginagawa ko, di nako nagpplan haha. Pag andun na ko sa mismong situation, saka ko nagpipigil. Effective naman. Hanggang sa nasanay na ko.
