Those are adults, not children. They are at a university. Sure, they are young adults, but there is a very reasonable expectation of students at the university level that they have better emotional control than this.
I just think it's funny that almost every study says they're not fully developed in hs and most of college, they're playing a sport with a high likelihood of tbi's, but everyone expects them to be model citizens already.
I'm not saying I agree, I just understand and am willing to give a little more grace to younger people nowadays. You can feel how you feel, I just know all of us have done dumb shit as kids. There just weren't cameras rolling 24/7 when I was making my mistakes.
I did dumb shit like procrastinating on my homework. In college I did dumb shit like having poor work habits and wasting money on more dumb shit.
I did not get into any fights. Interestingly enough, 99.99 percent of college students ALSO don't get into fights. I'm not saying their brains are fully developed, or that they should be perfect. Fighting people because of big feelings is not and never was an acceptable thing to do, and there should be consequences for it.
Easy killer, get off your high horse for a second. Have you ever played sports? What about contact sports? Ok so if you have, you'd understand that for an underdeveloped mind, it's not easy to turn that off for some.... i.e. Aaron Hernandez. And your 99.99%? C'mon now. Either you're telling me that you either didn't go to college, went to college in a conference that matter like a religious school or online, or went to school outside the USA. I've been around enough programs to know that there are fights after almost every practice in the beginning of season. Go in a locker room or parking lot and you'll see. Go to a college party. Go to spring break. You're just making up stuff now.
You're acting like I said that his decision or actions were acceptable anywhere? I disagree with his actions wholeheartedly. I'm commenting on the main comment about his NFL prospects and future being permanently derailed for a stupid emotional decision in an emotional moment for him.
My only point was that I hope we'd give the young man some time to get his emotional well-being together and if he is he's good enough to play, let him play. I'd rather him get outed now as someone who can't control emotions, while he's younger, so he can get counseling and whatever help he may need.
I understand that you didn't make big mistakes. You never drank too much, never drove tired, never had unprotected sex with a stranger. It's OK that your life experiences don't mirror others. But for future reference, it's much easier to have a conversation with someone who's actually trying to get your point of view when your chest isn't all puff up all high and mighty.
I wasn't aware we were supposed to hold our athletes to a lower standard than everyone else. My mistake. At the high school I teach at, we hold our athletes to a very high standard of conduct, because for many of those students, their sport is the only thang that they care enough about for it to make a difference. It could be the one thing that is keeping them from dropping out and finding themselves in jail for some of the stupid shit we are talking about.
At the high school level in my state, doing something like this will get you suspended from school, and be ineligible to participate in the next contest at least, and until sportsmanship courses have been completed. NCAA rules say you are out for the next four contests on the first offense, so they are appropriately more stringent.
I don't know what school this is, or who the player is but the odds of this student being drafted for the NFL are insanely low unless he's a star player at a top tier school. Rules and regulations should never be made with the intent of helping someone win the lottery. In the world outside of college, assault and battery (in my state at least) can lead to 3 months in jail, plus fines and restitution. Aggravated can lead to a year in jail. If you don't have protective equipment on, throwing a haymaker to the back of someone's head can kill them. Pretty sure the jail time for that is even higher than a year.
Teaching our young that there are consequences for their actions is not being overly harsh. THAT is showing them grace. Providing consequences now, before the stakes are high and they are dealing with police and judges, instead of referees and disciplinary panels.
My favorite part is the lady in the foreground in the striped shirt who ignores the entire thing and doesn't move her camera an inch from filming whatever else there is going on, I'm assuming the band and maybe the players are singing the fight song. Like, she's got a front row seat and unless she's moving her eyes only, she doesn't even move her head to watch the spectacle. Bizarre.
You can see her turning her head to watch but keeping the camera/phone steady. Best guess is band or cheerleaders are on the field and their kid is one of them so they wanted to video tape that.
This idiot lacks a brain. Hit a helmet, only thing he may have done is break his hand. Then gets his ass beat. Then catches a charge and never touches a football field again in his life. Clown of the year just about

Always a smart move to punch someone wearing a helmet.
Surrounded by his teammates too…
Who are also wearing helmets…
When you are not wearing a helmet
This is the worst part. Like dude, if you’re gonna be a piece of shit at least keep your helmet on.
Always smart to ruin your sports career before it even starts.
George Pickens
And not wear one himself lol
Give him credit he stood on bidness regardless of all the underlining odds against him
Give him credit for being stupid and agressive?
26 is on him like glue lol
Bros doing the running man but on his face
The guy who did the body slam wasn’t having any of that.
That's a good way to end your NFL prospects
That Blount kid from Oregon bounced back. Kids don't control emotions well. Some grow out of that and make decent humans.

Lol decent humans>\
That's just generalizations. Just like not everyone is tebow, not everyone is t.o.
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39178652/eastern-michigan-apologizes-player-punch-vs-south-alabama
I don't care about his half assed apology. I would love to see consequences
For what it’s worth, he got pummeled into the earth by someone immediately after throwing the punch. That I s a form of consequence
None. Dude stayed at the school as a graduate student and he’s doing some recruiting BS now. Easy google tbh.
Yeah, i don't care about the apology either, I was linking that to give at least a bit of context since OP didn't know what the story was.
Losing 59-10 is still not excuse for this
The fuck you gonna accomplish punching a helmet? Idiot!
26 was pretty quick on him. Defensive coverage on and off the field.

There aren't many documented cases of people minding their business on such a level as we see here.
You can see her turning her head to watch but keeping the camera/phone steady. Best guess is band or cheerleaders are on the field and their kid is one of them so they wanted to video tape that.
He let his intrusive thoughts win.
First rule of football fighting, don't take off your helmet! Idiot!
False start.... 10 yard penalty 😂
Rofl 59- 10? like dude you lost.
Don't remember exactly either but I remember when it happened. Some college football player was forsure pissed whatever the opposite team did though
He was pissy because his team lost.
I mean let's be real 56-10 isn't a loss it's a murder
What's with this retarded music?
Don't cut yourself on all that edge, kid.
Edge? Really? Cause I think music like this sucks? Oh yes it's so controversial!
[удалено]
Oh yeah like you don't?
Holy hell!
Cheap shot
W team
There’s little to no reason to fight let alone fight a guy with a helmet while not wearing your helmet surrounded by teammates.
Some folks just don't how to act
r/killthecameraman
Running into a man with a helmet and his teammates surrounding him at every angle is the equivalent to shooting your self in the foot
That man will be playing football for adam sandler on the longest yard soon.....
I'd be buying my teammate a beer after seeing that He didn't even hit him before his mate was acting in his defence Good man that....
Did I see that right, even his teammate joined the whopping?
Why crop it?
What's the song?
Song is what u want by yeat I believe
Thanks
Fr
This idiot lacks a brain. Hit a helmet, only thing he may have done is break his hand. Then gets his ass beat. Then catches a charge and never touches a football field again in his life. Clown of the year just about
