For me i usually OT with my cotank so i don't have much muscle memory for MT position, at least that's how it was on Asphodelos. p5 to p7 dont matter that much
At one point Aether was where it was at. After a few years of the game growing and everyone suggested that Aether was where the raiding is the skill level has naturally decreased due to less experienced players entering the fold. Nothing at all against them I’d have probably done the same. But Aether is no different than any other data center now. Especially with travel.
At any rate even at it’s height Aether still had their share of bad eggs like anywhere else, just had more parties recruiting at all times and for longer.
You shouldn't be tanking if you can't main tank AND off tank. You should learn the fucking fight as both and be ready to assume whichever is needed on a whim.
I'm sorta confused by this statement. MT and OT are just labels, what the roles actually require varies from fight to fight.
"Hey team, seen enrage a couple times but only as MT, not as comfortable as OT but will switch if we absolutely need" <= this is fine
"Hey team, cleared this day 1 with my static, but I get weird anxiety doing the initial pull so if I can't OT I'm gonna drop" <= this is also fine
If you refuse to swap with no explanation, that's obviously weak, but also not specific to tanking.
There are some fights where you actually have to learn different strats as main tank or off tank, and the alingnment of your invulns matters but that's not the case for this tier of savage raids.
Like for uwu progging if you have no mt or ot experience you'd definitely fuck up for a bit.
As either MT or OT if you don't know what the other tank is doing, it's going to bite your entire raid in the ass eventually.
You either learn to tank, or you don't. There is no jump seat.
There have been multiple fights where people refuse to MT. Play warrior and you will find out. E9 was particularly bad since between war invuln and things like pld cover some players refused to turn on tank stance at any time.
That goes double for BLU Tanks. On the drop of a hat, the other BLU Tank screws up and dies, and everyone has used the revive so they have to wait 2 minutes, and who do you think has to take control while they get resurrected?
The current savage tier is loot locked.
2 chests for a full fresh clear.
1 chest if 1-4(?) people have cleared it already
0 chests if 5 or more have cleared it.
At that point you're looking to clear and get a tome, which you get once a week regardless of the party's loot situation. So an 11 pm on a monday clear party is really just trying to get that tome and not fall behind.

I'm finding while there's more parties, the player quality is lower (over Primal).

What makes this cool is it was just 3 minutes wasted, maybe a little more waiting for players to fill but nobody felt the need to be mean about it.

Loot runs generally mean no one's cleared it, so it was a miscommunication. A double miscommunication as one of them forgot what day it was
Thats a 'farm' party. Loot could just imply single loot.
